This is a big win for Trump, the various Federal Cases will be affected, we wait to see what the Courts and Prosecutors so with the case, the general opinion is that the Court cases will start after the election, of course Trump as President could pull them if elected.   This Judgement by the Supreme Court does ask a few Questions of Presidential history, lets look at the examples, was JFK and the CIA'S attempt to kill Castro in the early 1960s was that official or Kennedy's need for revenge after the Bay of Pigs.  Then we move to 1968, was Nixon's sabotage of the Paris Peace Talks, semi official as he become President or private action that should have seen him Court.   Let's forget that LBJ bugged Nixon with the help of the FBI,  was the legal, its an open question, then we go to Nixon again in 1972 with Watergate, it can be presume that Nixon after the LBJ files on the Paris Peace Talks.  Thus would Nixon have had to resign in 1974.  The next case in Iran - Contra of the late1980s, it was Reagan's believe that the Contra freedom fighters had to be supported, after the Congress cut off official aid, he wanted the Contra fighters funded, no matter what it took, thus a diversion of funds to the Contra's.   As with JFK, there is doubt if Reagan knew this was happening, even if he did, it would not matter as it was official policy by Reagan to fight communism. In 1998 we have Bill Clinton, this was a private affair and thus the President would not have been immune from the Courts.   It seems the Court would have agreed with Nixon.   Interesting Court days ahead!!

The Hunter Biden as with the Donald Trump case would have not be bought if they had different surname, the verdict in both cases should have been NOT GUILTY, in this case the Jury is from Delaware, Biden's home state and Hunter is a local boy, so while New York went wrong away, this blog expects the Jury to bring back a NOT GUILTY verdict, anything else would be political, the gun was never used, and on one for sure knows if Hunter Biden was on drugs, his father has said he wont use his Presidential power to Pardon his son, the father of six children.  In the old days, men in smoke filled rooms would have solved their problems like gentleman, present problems are due to people wanting a pure democracy, it cant work like that.   When in 1968 President Johnson discovered that candidate Nixon was playing games with the Paris Peace talks, he kept that quiet, it would have caused a political crisis, he kept it over Nixon, thus the Watergate break - in of 1972, Nixon wanted to know how much LBJ had told the Democratic Party.   Today is what you get when you have the ideologues in charge.

This is the worse thing the Democrats could have done, the new House Republicans majority will be looking for ways to rubbish the Committee, it had only had Republicans who hate Trump anyway, and its reports will be seen as Partisan by many US voters.  The Democratic House Committee it can be argued has done a good job of showing what President Trump did after the 2020 Election and on January 6th, by adding charges the outgoing Democratic House has lost the plot.  The House Committee is not the US Senate Committee of Senator Ervin that looked into WATERGATE that had Republicans, who's Republicans LOST after a through investigation.  The Biden Democratic Department of Justice, does not need referrals from the US House, in fact it causes problems, if the DOJ does bring charges it will be open to charges that it was forced on it by the Democrats and the Court cases could take years, and God forbid Trump could be President again.  The Democrats have shot themselves in the foot, a bad day for DEMOCRACY, at the end of it all POTUS might have to PARDON Trump as President Ford did for Nixon, that is the way of political reality, in less he wants Court Cases going on through 2024.

The one major difference between 1972 and 2022, is the fact that Liz Truss is from the Thatcher school for tough leadership, also the Barber boom lasted eighteen months, enough time for a General Election and Unions are not as powerful as they were once, Heath took on the miners, there are no more mines for miners, only those in private hands, also since everyone is going green, there are other areas to get power to the grid, no more 3 day week as there was in the 1970s.  The Conservative Governments have made it harder to go on strike, and the new mini budget has reforms in this area, strikes will only be allowed if any deal offered has been placed before the members of Unions, before a strike is legal.  This mini budget will make it harder for the Labour Party, the Party can hardly go in to an election with tax hikes, as everyone knows that after the rich get clobbered is the middle class that has to pay the debts of the Labour Party.  Thus this was a good mini Budget, the Conservatives are back!

Why would former President Trump need to keep 700 pages of secret materials, and that is just the documents that was taken away from the Trump home in January, the President would have known that he could have looked at them at any time, in a secure manner, the security of the the Trump Home would hardly be up to the standard of what the Government does to keep documents secret, what if foreign intelligence bodies had found this out and tried to get copies, the fact that Trump had them is not the problem, its the bulk.  It should be noted that in 1969 when LBJ left office he took information that showed that the Nixon Campaign had placed pressure on the Saigon Government in South Vietnam not to go to the Paris Peace Talks.  LBJ could have blown up the 68 campaign with this hacked information, but he kept it quiet and stated that the information would be held in his Library, in a envelope to be opened decades later.  It has been postulated that the WATERGATE break in was Nixon looking to see what the Democrats had on the 68 campaign, why otherwise break in, the Richard Nixon won the 72 election in a landslide, he did not need to break in to the Watergate.  The Saigon connection makes sense of the break in.  The point being that Presidents do take secret information with them, well LBJ and Trump did, so let's not get pious about it, its the volume that is the problem.  One has to say that Trump should face charges, but the Biden Administration should not do that, it should be the grown up, CNN and the liberal media want that, it would be disaster, it would make Trump a martyr to the course, the information from Jan 6 is bad enough to stop from running, let's not give Trump a OUT, the Democrats would never be forgiven.

POTUS will not resign if he does not want too, but a argument can be made that if he is forced with Impeachment and the Republicans in the Senate going along with it, then he could be forced out and banned from running in 2024.  Trump could take the Nixon option, resign, but before doing that, granting himself and his family a FULL PARDON, in way that would benefit Biden, he does need Trump  clogging up his agenda, one doubts that Biden would allow Trump to face arrest and prison time, once you start that, it sets a precedent, and no POTUS wants that, him or her could be NEXT.  CNNN is loving this, but giving that Trump has given them sword one can not really complain.  Even Nixon knew at the end that he had destroyed himself, Nixon was self aware, that is why he wanted Trump to run for the Oval, one assumes that Tricky Dicky knew that Trump would be a disaster, and his poll ranking would go up a bit, Nixon was no Trump, he did win twice, in 1968 and 1972.

If you're a political geek then you will be watching to see how Florida and Ohio goes, if either or both go for Biden then you can switch channel to watch something else, the election is OVER, Biden will be the 46th President of the United States.  There has been a massive surge in early voting and by post, it can be argued since Democrats vote early that the votes will be mostly Democrats, thus on the day of the election, Republicans will vote, one does not see how Republican voting will change the outcome, the Trump base is around 46%, in nearly ALL polls Biden has over 50% support.  All the polls would have to be WRONG, thus it can be taken for granted that Biden will WIN, he will keep the House and regain control of the Senate.  Trump's biggest weakness is TRUMP, he has to be at the centre of attention, goes mad if others get more TV air time.  They will be writing books about Trump for ages, he will be up there with Nixon, the most complex men ever to sit in the Oval Office, but he lacks Nixon's intelligence, let's recall that Nixon won 49 States in 1972 and he had Vietnam to deal with and the breaking at the Watergate.

In 2016 this blog blogged and supported HRC, but placed £2.50 for Trump to WIN, this election cycle this blog is reversing its thought of doing the same.  Let's be honest Trump has been a disaster as POTUS, Nixon comes out better, No wonder Tricky Dicky wanted Trump to run, you can say a lot of things about Nixon, but he knew people, he did win 49 States in his re-election and thus could postulate that Trump would be a disaster, and the has been, he has taken the Presidency to NEW LOWS, even compared to Bill Clinton.   The Oval's reaction to COVID - 19 has been a total disaster, hundreds of thousands have died, and Trump after getting the disease thinks he is immune, thus having large gatherings were the disease can spread.  CNN has been totally negative, makes one feel sorry for Trump!!! Trump has been friendly to Putin's Russia and to North Korea, he has been critical of allies, while bending backwards to be nice to enemies of the West.  Thus we are not far from the Biden Era, God help us!

This is what happens when a political party allows the extremes to take charge, Speaker Pelosi could not say NO this group in fear that she would lose their support to remain Speaker, thus the impeachment is a short term answer to a bigger problem, the Democrats hate POTUS, what will they do next when he does something really wrong, they can hardly impeach him a 2nd time, the Republican Base will not support POTUS even more, a silly process with a silly end result.

It can be postulated that Trump if he gets re-elected with not have a 49 State victory that Nixon had in 1972 and Reagan had in 1984.   Before liberal pundits start to point out that Biden is leading in a number of states should recall that Bill Clinton never won over 49% of the vote in either 1992 and 1996, it is about the electoral college, and as this blogger has noted in one of those polls, Ohio, Biden only lead by 1%.  Let's recall that Trump won Ohio by near 10% in 2016 and there is a long year to go before we get in to the general election.    The Democrats have not had their debates yet, and if Warren who is on a surge at this moment wants to be the nominee she will have to take down Biden, the same for Sanders.   VP Biden has a VERY LONG record, and it will be open to attack, no one thought that Trump would win in 2016, thus readers should be wary of those that say the race is OVER, sometimes when watching or reading the liberal press one gets the idea that they want to jump the Primaries, that do not start in till 2020, the candidates have yet been in the COLD of Iowa and NH. Long way to go folks.

It is Easter, only political nerds like this blog will read most of the Mueller Report, most normal people will take their news from their trusted source as stated before.   This blog is no great fan of Trump, in fact this blog supported HRC in 2016, spinning for the Clintons was ironic to say the least.  This blog wants POTUS to be treated as you would treat other President, otherwise you have MOB RULE, depending on who is in power.  The Vice President has already called for an investigation of the investigators, to see if the Mueller investigation was lawful.   The Democrats in the House will be pushed by their very liberal base to impeach Trump, and then the Republican Senate will find him not guilty.  In 2020 the Democrats could LOSE the House and the Democratic nominee will have to defend the actions of the House, thus creating more points for the Trump to hit the Dem nominee.  Where are the grown ups?, when in 1968 during the Presidential election LBJ found that Nixon was sabotaging his peace talks with North Vietnam he did not make it public, he could see a crisis developing from the release of this information.   The Republicans and the Democrats have become petty and are owned by the base, we need another Reagan in the Oval Office, a President that could unite the US.

The Trump White House better get ready for more demands from the Democrats House Committees, the Trump Oval should remind them that Watergate took 2 years before Nixon resigned, and the Monica Lewinsky scandal took a year.   It can be expected that the President will invoke Executive Privilege on matters that he thinks he can get away with, the US Courts will be VERY BUSY, of course all the cases will end up at the Supreme Court, this is not 1974, the majority of the Judges are Conservatives, very much like 1998, when the Court allowed the civil case against President Clinton to go on.   The question is will they allow the fishing attempt by the Democrats or will they say that the reason that POTUS is the most powerful man in the World is because he is POWERFUL, the Congress is his equal in domestic terms but not his boss, also the US Senate controlled by Republicans WILL NEVER IMPEACH Trump, they are to afraid of their own voters for that.   If the Democrats were clever they would get the information out before 2020 and allow the US voter to decide otherwise it will look like a hoax and a WITCH HUNT, the Democrats are going after everything, the voter will be asking what about the DOMESTIC AGENDA.  Liberals are really foolish.

If President Trump can make a deal with the North Korean leader it would be a political coup, the left would be stuck with egg on their elite faces.   In 1972 Nixon went to China, it was a first visit by a US President, and Nixon could take the heat from the right as he had been a firm anti - communist throughout his political career. One has to say that POTUS has LOST THE PLOT, you never go after the FBI if your Administration is under investigation.   The President is saying that the FBI is LIBERAL and supports HRC because they did not charge HRC with anything, that is a risky move in D.C, of course it could be a smart move if you want to undermine a Special Prosecutor and his case.    The President has the power to open an investigation in to HRC if he wants, he can order the Department of Justice, it depends if they threaten to resign over the matter, even then it can be done, it would confuse the issue, it would become a farce in a quick manner.   POTUS is either brilliant or crazy.

One should recall that the Watergate break took place in 1972, the resignation of Richard Nixon was in 1974, and Trump is no Nixon, he will fight and he has the money and base support for this to last years. When it comes to Iran Contra, it broke late in 1986 after the Mid Terms, Reagan and his staff did a great job of dealing with the legal and political aspects of the scandal, at the end Reagan got a slap on the hands for bad management skills, while Bill Clinton and his scandal took up 1998 and only came clean when he had no choice.   The Democrats best hope is that they take the House and Senate in 2018, otherwise it does not matter what they want, the Republicans will stall in till 2020, there is already talk that Trump will not run for a 2nd term, with his poll ratings that could be a good idea, he does not want to be a LOSER.   This story is far from over.

They say history repeats itself, well it seems that the Trump Campaign did a 1968, in that year Candidate Richard Nixon got the South Vietnam Government not to enter talks with the US and North Vietnam for a peaceful end to the Vietnam War, this lead to the election of Nixon in a very close election.   The question you might ask why bring up that NOW, well it can be argued that the Watergate break in of 1972 was Nixon wanting to know what the Democrats had on Nixon and the events of 1968.   Let's look at the background of 68, LBJ knew that Nixon had been playing dirty games, but did not go public with the news as this could lead to a Constitutional crisis, thus he kep the information to himself, in other words he was making sure that Nixon treated him with respect in his Post Presidential years, well Nixon wanted to know who else knew about 1968, thus the DNC break in, and of course we have Watergate and the resignation of Nixon in 1974.    The actors change but events do seem to follow a pattern, one wishes those in politics knew a bit of political history!!

Any LINKS are bad, let us recall that Watergate happened when a few Cubans were arrested breaking in to the DNC, from those links it lead to the Oval Office and the forced resignation of Richard Nixon.   BEFORE Democrats start to jump for joy lets recall that the Watergate investigation took two years, we shall see if the Democrats have the patience to wait, there might be a there there, of course there might not be a real strong link to Trump.   The Trump Court is large, thus this investigation will and could lasts for years, the fact that the White House Press Secretary is calling them hangers on is bad, let's see where the hangers on lead too.

The Republicans in the Senate and House should say No to the Democrats when it comes for their calls for an Independent Committee to investigate Trump during the 2016 race and his first few weeks in power.   They should allow the Committees they control to do any investigation.   On the other hand the Republicans must show they are hard on Russia and should suggest further sanctions on Russia.   The Democrats want to divert attention from the fact they lost the November election, they have no leader and thus have gone left, the same with the UK Labour Party.   This scandal has been called another Watergate, not yet!! It depends if the Trump team was in bed with the Russians.
