It getting close folks, the US Mid Term Elections, its the even that will define the last two years of the Obama Presidency before President Obama faces re-election in 2012. In many respects it can be argued that it would be good for POTUS to lose the House in 2010, this was the fate of Bill Clinton in 1994 elections, this forced him to move to the centre, thus his big win in 1996. The Oval can become a bunker if you have yes men/women on your staff and in Congress, if you really have to deal with the Congress then you have a better feel of the view of the voters. The pushing through of health care reform would not have happened if Congress had been in the hands of Republicans. Thus a new Gallup poll is interesting, it has the Republicans ahead of the Democrats in a 2010 match up, the Republicans are on 47% and Democrats are on 44%. It still only April folks but the trend is for Obama to either keep the House with a narrow majority or to lose the House to the Republicans. In the Senate it looks better for the Oval, the Republicans would have to win all the races in essence to take control of the Senate. The reason the House could be at stake is simple folks, health care reform, the Democrats in till elections will have to defend HCR, they wont have a chance to pivot to jobs, that is the main issue for voters. As of now this is my prediction, the Republicans take the House but Obama keeps the Senate. The the fun will really start folks.
