Freeze on Benefits - Telegraph

Telegraph: Reports that the UK Treasury is considering a freeze on benefits, from child to unemployment benefits for a year. As noted in this blog the last Labour Government under Gordon Brown has flushed the UK economy down the toilet, the UK Government debt for this year will stand at 155 Billion, at the rate the UK Government is borrowing it will spend 70 billion on the interest on the UK debt, thus drastic action has to be taken, thus my own suggestion for a freeze on benefits. Have to admit this blog didn't think that the new Coalition Government would have the nerve to hit the following benefits, " child benefits, disability benefits, housing benefit and unemployment benefit ", never thought the Lib Dems would go along with such drastic action, even Lady Thatcher never went that far in the 1980s. Of course the gloom and doom could be spin on the part of the new Coalition Government, people could expect the worse in the Emergency Budget on Tuesday and when it is not that bad feel they have missed the bullet. This could be the chance in a generation by the Conservative Party to redraw the role of Government in the civic structure, the good years of Labour just spending is over, really over folks. The Coalition should think outside the box, should people get any benefits before 25; of course there would be exceptions; should benefits only come in to effect after 25 and only if people have worked or gone to higher education. These are tough times folks, the fate of the UK economy is on the line, Labour spent and we are heading the way of Spain and Greece, the CUTS have to be drastic and change the civic structure of the UK, then after the recovery we can add or reshape the benefits cut.
