I need laugh after the Brexit MESS, this made me laugh!!

Lets Get Real:

Where to start with this opinion piece, Reagan was the perfect right winger to take on the failed Presidency of Jimmy Carter, the US economy was a mess and the USSR had invaded Afghanistan and the Tehran Regime had taken hostage US diplomats, that would last for 444 days.   The Gipper had charisma, he was a former Governor of California, not Georgia,  also he was a former movie and TV star, he attacked the weak Carter Administration when it came to its deals with the USSR and was seen as a STRONG LEADER.   While Carter was see as WEAK.  There was a joke in the 2016 campaign that Senator Sander took his honeymoon in the USSR and never came back!!  The fly over states are not going to elect a socialist to the Presidency, that is why the founding fathers made sure that the small States had electoral votes.  Reagan in his first term, cut taxes, cut welfare, increased defence spending, called the USSR an EVIL EMPIRE, invaded Grenada, and made the US feel better about itself and its role in the World.  President Reagan in his 2nd term, ended the Cold War in alliance with President Gorbachev, reformed immigration by doing deals with Democrats, also reformed the tax system,  and got through Iran - Contra with a slap on his hands for his management skills, while Nixon resigned over Watergate, and Bill Clinton was impeached.  Also his Vice - President was elected as his successor, no President in over a hundred years had managed that, none after him,   Reagan was a secular political ICON, as was his friend Lady Thatcher, Senator Sanders will NEVER BE A LEFT WING GIPPER.  If the Democrats want to re-elect President Trump then they should nominate Senator Sanders. 

It's My Deal or No Brexit, PM May - Brexit Update 4 - Post Brexit or No Brexit

Lets Get Real:

IF the PM was really ruthless she could threaten to revoke Brexit, it's within her power, of course it would mean the end of her time in 10 Downing Street, but it could get her deal through.   Of course the problem is that PM May is not a natural politician.  Thus it will be interesting to see by how much her deal goes down by tonight.  One can see a lot of Conservative MPs holding their noses either in voting for the deal or not voting.  In reality many MPs want the deal to go through without their fingerprints on them.  One can postulate that is the secret view of Jeremy Corbyn, the Leader of the Labour Party.   There is talk of a 3rd meaning vote, goodness gracious, AGAIN!! Even this HARD BREXIT supporter and political geek is getting BORED with the issue, someone needs to LEAD.   As predicted some time ago the HARD REMAINERS have won, thus we either get a soft brexit or a 2nd Brexit vote that manipulated in way that REMAIN can only WIN.   Lady T must be turning in her grave!

ERG and DUP say NO to May Revised Deal - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit or No Brexit?

Lets Get Real:

IF PM May was ruthless she should have stated that if the DEAL goes down tonight as it will, then she would call a general election, there is nothing like the threat of elections to get MPs to fall in line.  In FACT the PM could have another meeting with her MPs and make it CLEAR, it's her deal or the threat of a Corbyn Government and the REMAINERS in seats of power.  The ERG and the DUP are on the edge of a cliff, they are so close to BREXIT, but they are seeking purity, it will never happen.   Political Parties should never chose zealots as candidates for MPs, they are blind to the reality of politics.   The PM could offer to resign by June, this might have worked at a early moment, would the ERG and the DUP trust her, that is the question.   A fresh General Election would make Parliament manageable for either the Conservative or Labour Party.  Our system of democracy can not work with a runway Parliament, it's not British. 

The UK can not leave the Irish Backstop without EU OKAY - UK AG - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit or No Brexit

Thus it is a cert that the ERG will vote against the DEAL, its own lawyers have given it a NO, the DUP will vote against the deal, Labour MPs from leave seats will vote against the deal, they are not putting their heads on the chopping block for a failed deal.  This blog is a hard Brexit supporter, it would build a wall in the middle of the Euro Tunnel and build at wall at its entrance, BUT it would take the revised DEAL, it is not PERFECT, but then no deal is, it would get us out of the EU by March 29th.   The Hard Brexit MPs have been fighting the EU for years, it's in their bones, they are stuck in the past, without the EU to fight what would they fight, thus the HARD REMAINERS win because the Brexit MPs can not take YES for answer, a sad state of affairs. 

UK could still get STUCK in the Irish Backstop - UK AG - Brexit Update - Post Brexit or No Brexit

The revised May Deal is DEAD IN THE WATER, IF the DUP says NO, then the ERG will not support it, there will be some who will change their vote and say that the PM has done enough, but it will not be enough, so what NEXT.  After the defeat tonight the following day the House of Commons will vote to take NO DEAL off the table.   Then on Thursday the House of Commons will vote for an extension.  While this is going on the Opposition will propose changes that will take the process OUT of the hands of the Government.   THUS THE REMAINERS WIN, either a SOFT BREXIT or a 2nd Brexit Vote.  The Hard Brexit MPs can not take YES for an answer and the HARD REMAINERS have fought dirty, with the help of a bias Speaker.   Those 17+ million voters who voted to leave will find that their votes do not count for the Remaining Elite and the Hard Brexit MPs are seeking purity in a non pure world, that is the case with DEMOCRATIC politics.   Here endeth the POLITICAL LESSON.
