The US is still talking to the Russians, WHY?, this is like the 1930s when the Allies talked to Nazi Germany as the tanks rolled in to Czech Republic.   The Russians under Putin see a chance to gain influence in the Middle East, the US has a weak President in Obama, there is an election going on in which Donald Trump is seen as friendly to the Russians, of course the Russians are not going to listen.   Time for the Obama Oval to smell the coffee, Elvis has left the building, you need a new song.

This blogger watched ALL the debate, and found it a draw, Clinton had the facts, but could you face that kind character in the Oval for the next four to eight years, while the Trump has the passion.   It is said the best way to review a speech is after sleeping on it and thinking what comes to mind after a good rest, well my first reaction was right, Trump was the fighter, passion, while Clinton was your boring accountant.  IF pressed to name a highlight it would be Trump's attack on Bill Clinton's signing of NAFTA, while Clinton had the character to stand up to the Trump for 90 minutes.    As with others I have been checking what others thinks, most of the on line polls have Trump winning, as I COULD vote I did, it does not matter as I do not have a vote in November, even this blog that is supporting HRC found that Trump had won by allowing himself to be seen as Presidential, he took the fight to HRC. Lets see the polls after a few days.

This is good news for the HRC Campaign, its in the average of the six point lead that HRC had in two polls last week.   Thus the lesson for the HRC campaign is do no damage the brand.   HRC, has to be calm, happy, on the ball, verbal and policy issues.  ABOVE all else she must not look ill or give the feeling that she feels old.   The Donald will build his own political hole, he might be a smart billionaire, but as a pol he has a lot to learn.  Thus a lot of coffee tonight US voter.

Thus my projection for tonight, well on basic political grounding the debate should go to HRC.  The candidate and her campaign know this could be IT, the time that the US voters decide on the result.   On the other hand in 1960 JFK won the first debate, those that just heard the debate on the radio thought Nixon had won, and in the further debates the Nixon Campaigned closed the contest down, thus making the narrow historic win for JFK.    The next time there were Presidential debates was in 1976, Nixon decided he was not going through 1960 again in 68 or 72.  In 1976 President Ford stated that Eastern Europe was not under the control of the USSR, that cost the Ford Campaign.   On January 1977 Jimmy Carter was elected.  In 1980 88 million Americans watched the Carter vs. Reagan debate. the Gipper won and then the election.  In 1992 Bush 41 showed his distaste for the debate by looking at watch, as to check when it would be finished.   The only result was the he was finished and thus come the Clintons.   The above are examples, it will be interesting to see who WINS tonight and the perceived winner after a few days.

The advice to candidates is RELAX on stage, smile, make the voter feel you're happy to be there, if the above does not work for the you, FAKE IT, the voter has to be happy at the thought that they will see you for between the next four to eight years on their TV screens.    WHAT NOT TO DO, do not look unhappy, dont not look smug; that is for more Trump; keep your face normal while you listen to the question and the answer from the opposition.   There is no pressure, just it is expected that a 100 million Americans will be watching, do not mess it up.

Well in the UK it will be time to get the coffee on, and watch the DEBATE of the 21st Century between Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the successful businessman and reality star Donald Trump.   This should be a walkover for Clinton, she has done numerous debates, it a matter of allowing Trump to dig his own hole, let him be rude, unfair, then the US voter will see that he is not fit to be President.   The only thing HRC has to do is look and act well, no coughing fits or fainting just be normal and the Oval Office will be hers in 2017.

The Russians do not care about international law or the UN, they have a strategic position in Syria and the US has a weak President, thus they will act without any fear of an reaction from the Oval Office.    Let's be clear President Putin is a WAR CRIMINAL of the first order, his rule in Russia is based on fear and the killing or placing the opposition in jail.   The Kremlin sees that the US is not backing its allies in the Middle East, such as Israel and Saudi Arabia, thus it thinks it can gain greater influence in the region.   The next US President has a big job in rebuilding the image of the US.

Thus the UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson places the blame for the latest ceasefire violation at the door of the Russians.   This is not a great shock, the Russians word can not be trusted, the new Cold War 2 started with the War with Georgia, the followed the take over of the Crimea and now the enlarge presence of the Russians in Syria.   ALL of this would not have happened if the US had a strong President.  The HRC campaign has to make sure that the HRC is seen as  a strong leader.   The WORLD can not afford another failed Obama term.

The Russians have been showed that they can not be trusted when it comes to their claims, the  Ukraine is an example.    The Russian Bear thinks it can do what likes as the US has a weak President and the Russians can VETO any UN action.   The Syrian mess needs a strong US President who will slap the Russian Bear down and cuts his claws, that is the only thing that the Russians respect.   Thus a sad future for Syria.

The Russians either block such a move, or agree in public but carry on with their bombing, placing the US and the West in a tight spot, are they really willing to take on the Russians.   The failure to enforce the red lines by Obama means that the US is not taken seriously by the Russia or the World when it comes to Syria.    The Kerry tough talk has been seen before, when  he sounded like the US was going to attack the Assad Regime, then to see the Oval just not act.   The Russians are in control in Syria, it will take a new US President to get some peace in Syria, it is known that HRC supports a no fly zone, is the Oval moving to be helpful or is it setting up another failed US move.

The above remarks are offensive, Donald Trump does not understand Western values, of course the terror suspect will get medical treatment and be give a lawyer, that is the difference between the West and terrorists, we follow the law and what is just.   This hardline view held by Trump does not help the US with the rest of the World, the West has to show that it represents what is decent and fair about its values.  The West can not to show an angry face to the Middle East, this would be taken up by terrorists, thus on this the Obama Administration is right.

What would the Gipper say, the question is what would the Gipper say about the present Republican Party that allows someone like Donald Trump to hijack the Party of Lincoln and Reagan.  In this choice Bush 41 is making the correct choice, Trump is unfit to be President. Thus only only a couple of weeks in till HRC gets the Oval Office.

THIS is the kind of language that the US voter might want to hear after the recent terror attacks, also what happens if there are further attacks closer to the November election.   The Democrats have to up their game, the HRC Camp has to show that HRC is more of hawk that Obama and wants to be tougher in Syria even as she does states that she will not use US armed forces to take out Daesh.   In the debate Trump could go after HRC with her remarks that she would not use ground troops, in the end it might take US/UK special forces to take out Daesh, the HRC campm might have to throw Obama under the bus on this issue and be more tough, they have to win.

President Obama on Terror Attacks - Update 2016

White House: Reports on remarks by President Obama on the terror attacks, "  I want to say a few words about the explosions that occurred here in New York City and New Jersey and the other devices that have been found in New Jersey.  I’ve been monitoring the situation closely and receiving frequent updates from my team.  And I’ve just been briefed again by FBI Director Comey.  In addition, I've had a chance to speak with Governors Cuomo and Christie, as well as Mayor de Blasio.

We’ve seen what was apparently a pipe bomb go off in New Jersey, in Seaside Park, where it could have seriously injured our U.S. Marines and spectators who were there for a race.  The bombing in the Chelsea neighborhood, here in New York, injured more than two dozen people.  We are extremely fortunate and grateful that nobody was killed.  And our prayers go out to all those who have been injured.  We want to wish them a speedy recovery.  

I especially want to commend all the outstanding police and first responders in both New York City and New Jersey for their extraordinary professionalism and their quick response, which surely prevented even more people from being hurt, and ensured that people got assistance quickly.

The investigation is moving rapidly, and as is my practice, I’m going to leave it to the FBI and law enforcement to provide details.  I think everybody is aware at this point that there is a person of interest who is the focus of the investigation.  And the FBI can give you further details in terms of how that is proceeding.  

I told Governors Cuomo and Christie and Mayor de Blasio that they and their teams will continue to have all federal support as they move ahead with their investigations, and tracking down every lead, and working to keep the people of this city and of this region safe.  Law enforcement is asking for the help of the community.  And so to everybody in this region, I want to repeat what we've said before:  If you see something suspicious, then you need to say something -- contact local law enforcement.  

In the meantime, I would ask that the press try to refrain from getting out ahead of the investigation.  I am extraordinarily happy with the cooperation that's been taking place between the FBI and state and local law enforcement officials.  They are moving smartly on this investigation.  It does not help if false reports or incomplete information is out there.  So try to, as much as possible, stick to what our investigators say, because they actually know what they're talking about.     

Meanwhile, I know that the United Nations meetings here every year already create an additional workload for New York.  But given the U.N. meetings, we also have a particularly high level of federal resources here to help as needed.  We’re going to make sure that everybody is working together seamlessly, as one team, to get to the bottom of what happened, to find those responsible, and to make sure that justice is done.       
 
Meanwhile, while all this is going on in New York and New Jersey, we’re also focused on the stabbing attack at the shopping mall in Minnesota.  At this point, we see no connection between that incident and what happened here in New York and New Jersey.  Our attention there is on the people who were injured.  And again, we are very grateful that no one lost their life.  Thanks to the quick action of a brave off-duty police officer, the suspect was killed and we avoided more people being hurt.  

I had a chance also to speak with Governor Dayton this morning.  I assured him that we will provide all the assistance that he needs in the investigation.  The FBI is investigating the Minnesota incident as a potential act of terrorism.  We will direct the full resources of the federal government to make sure that the investigation goes forward aggressively.

And finally, I want to take this opportunity to reassure the people in this city, in this region, and Americans across our country that our counterterrorism and law enforcement professionals at every level -- federal, state and local -- are working together, around the clock, to prevent attacks and to keep us safe.  They are the best of the best.  Over the years, they have thwarted many plots and saved many lives.  And we are incredibly grateful for their service, today and every single day.

We will continue to lead the global coalition in the fight to destroy ISIL, which is instigating a lot of people over the Internet to carry out attacks.  We are going to continue to go after them.  We're going to take out their leaders.  We're going to take out their infrastructure.  They are continuing to lose ground in Iraq and in Syria.  And later today, I’ll be meeting with Prime Minister Abadi of Iraq to discuss the need to sustain that momentum.  As we take away more of their territory, it exposes ISIL as the failed cause that it is.  And it helps to undermine their ideology, which over time will make it harder for them to recruit and inspire people to violence.  And we're going to continue to enlist tech companies and community and religious leaders to push back against online extremist content and all messages of hate.  

At moments like this, I think it’s important to remember what terrorists and violent extremists are trying to do.  They are trying to hurt innocent people, but they also want to inspire fear in all of us, and disrupt the way we live, to undermine our values.   And so, even as we have to be vigilant and aggressive, both in preventing senseless acts of violence but also making sure that we find those who carry out such acts and bring them to justice, we all have a role to play as citizens in making sure that we don’t succumb to that fear.  And there’s no better example of that than the people of New York and New Jersey.

When I was speaking to Governor Cuomo and Governor Christie and Mayor De Blasio, one point that they all made is, folks around here, they don’t get scared.  They’re tough, they’re resilient, they go about their business every single day.  And that kind of toughness and resoluteness, and a recognition that neither individuals nor organizations like ISIL can ultimately undermine our way of life, that’s the kind of strength that makes me so proud to be an American.  And that’s the kind of strength that is going to be absolutely critical not just in the days to come but in the years to come.  

By showing those who want to do us harm that they will never beat us, by showing the entire world that as Americans we do not, and never will, give in to fear, that’s going to be the most important ingredient in us defeating those who would carry our terrorist acts against us.

On the political front will be interesting to see the political polls, how doe the attacks make the US VOTER react, in pure political terms, and everything is political, this could help Trump, who is seen as strong, or help HRC who is seen as steady and up to the job of POTRUS.  It is always down to the polls.

The hidden health of Presidents is a very interesting book itself, there is President Wilson having strokes and his 2nd wife having to run the Country during War time and then there is President Kennedy with his addison disease and the secrecy from the US voter about the matter.   It can be argued that the US voter on the whole do not vote for for ill people, the President is the head of the Armed Forces and is head of state, a ill President it can be argued has negatives all ready going in to the Oval, the pressure of the job makes Presidents go old, Jackie Kennedy said if Dallas had not happened  that JFK would have been a a wheelchair after his 2nd term.  Reagan looked after eight years in the job, so did Clinton, they enjoyed being President.    President Obama has gone old in the Office, it takes its toll.

The press will know looking at HRC with care, if they see weakness they will call her out on her health, thus HRC can not afford to have any more public incidents, the HRC Campaign Manger needs to place a staffer with candidate who can tell the rest of the staff to lay off, that the candidate needs rest and there should not be that many events, the VP can cover most, that is his job.    The right wing press will not let this go, so HRC has to be careful, try to be honest but do not sink your own ship.   This is going to be a high wire act for HRC, one more fall and it could be over.

This above shows that President Obama is neither feared or respected by the enemies of the US, the N Koreans know that Obama will not react, more bark than bite, the UN and its members will just add sanctions and do nothing.  At the end of the day South Korea, Japan will need to go nuclear, these Countries can not be sure that they will be defended by Democratic Presidents.   Thus when HRC wins in November she will need to do a tour of Asia, the new President will need to show somehow that she will protect US allies.   The nuclear bubble is out, its only a matter time that it gets used by a weak government trying to keep itself in power.

The UN and the US and its allies will not do a dam thing about North Korea, the North Koreans have the bomb, and the Countries around North Korea fear a nuclear reaction to any real sanctions against North Korea.   The US/China and failed to curb North Korea, the sanction policies have been weak, thus part of the blame can be placed on former US President Jimmy Carter, the former President thought he had deal with North Korea for them to give up their nuclear research for food, the NK just changed how they developed the bomb, thus a chance to really closed down NK failed.   IF you the UN and its members want to stop NK then they have to bomb NK, and they will not do that, thus back to square one, more bark than bite.

This must be the dirties US election in living memory, both sides are fighting trench warfare in the gutter, and the one thing that will stick no matter what is mud.  THE HRC campaign has to hit Trump on hard with his relationship with Russia, and how strong HRC would be with Putin.   HRC can argue she tried the restart with Russia and found that Putin's Russia wanted to return to the old USSR.   The US voter must see that Trump and Putin have one thing in common, their egos are out of control and that could be dangerous for the Western Security.   Time for the HRC campaign to take a cannon to a knife fight, and win.

As this blog has projected that HRC will win, it can be objective when it comes to President Obama's remarks about Trump, in essence they are correct, but if there was any chance of Trump winning then the President would be more guarded his comments, it would be the worse nightmare for President Obama if Trump is elected in November and he has to deal with him over the three months before Trump would walk in to the Oval Office.  These comments will go down well the elite liberal press and Democrats, the Republican voters will just dismiss them as the President helping HRC.  This blog has never had much time for Obama, at least HRC is a hawk, and that does wonders to this blog and its view of the race.

Thus the Trump is playing the military card, the problem is that Trump is more a threat to US National Security than HRC.   This is the candidate who is soft on Russia, wants them to hack the US Democratic Party, has stated that NATO is no longer of use, and has praised President Putin of Russian.    By that picture one can say that HRC is a hawk, she wants tougher action on Syria and will defend NATO.   This blog can not understand how many in the US military support the Trump, he has been critical of a family of US hero and has been critical of some heroic figures in US public life.   This blog is calling on the US personnel TO VOTE for HRC as President, the US will be secure with HRC in the Oval.

As HRC will be the next President it is interesting to look at policy view of Russia held by HRC, the cold frosty climate of the Cold War has returned.   The US does not trust Russia in the Ukraine, Syria or anywhere else when it comes to it, the Russia Bear has its claws in many of the hotpots of the World.    As President HRC will understand you can not restart a relationship with the Russians, the Russians never change, with the USSR or not.    They have to be respected but also told in a firm manner to back off, they do not fear Obama like the old USSR feared Kennedy or Reagan.   Let us hope that HRC is more of a hawk than dove.

The Trump machine is keeping to the script, that Trump will be good for the US military and HRC has no clue.   The HRC Campaign has to get its act together, it needs to get its own military supporters to come out to attack Trump for his previous views on the US military, a man who has never served in combat has been critical of those that have served and died for the US.  Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are now tied in the polls, time for the Democrats to hit back hard or they could lose this race.

The World has not gone mad then, one could have only imagine what Nixon and Reagan would have said if their Secretaries of State had supported HRC, on the other hand Nixon had a good opinion of Bill Clinton.    As the above states no one thought that these two veterans of D.C would back Trump, it can be argued that Trump runs counter to to the pillars of Republican national security.    The Trump is not supportive of NATO and wants a better relationship with Putin in Russia.    The HRC campaign team has to work hard, it can not afford to think that the election is over, its is far from over, the nightmare would people having to say its President Trump coming to the screen near you.

The above is Donald Trump pandering to his base, white working class workers and those without a college degree.   These views are counter to the Reagan view of 1984 who supported amnesty for those who came to the US in an illegal manner, the US has always been a melting pot of different races, everyone in the US in some manner have their roots in immigration.   The US is a big Country with a big heart, the Trump message is counter to what is right and the politics of 2016.   This is why HRC will win the Oval Office.
