Russia OPENS front in SPACE - New Cold War 11 - Russian Bear/Security Threat

Lets Get Real:

You can not trust the Russians, they broke the INF Treaty on numerous instances and tried under the Clinton Administration to get the Treaty mothballed.   Then when President Trump revoked the Treaty they were highly critical.   The Russian Bear is always two faced when it comes to the West.   One hand they do a deal with Adolf Hitler and then expect thanks for resisting him when he invaded in 1941.   In 1980s Reagan supported SDI, a space based defence for the US, it was never funded correctly after Reagan left office, the left did not want to upset the Russians, well Russians have gotten the same idea as the great Ronald Reagan, move the theatre of War in to space and hobble the West from Space.    The US Congress should fund a new SDI scheme, one that will place the US ahead of the Russians, of course with an election coming up the Democrats will not support the scheme, the Trump Oval if it had any credibility would suggest the policy, but Trump is seen as being in bed with Putin.  Let's hope the US does not regret this lack of action in Space.

Guido Fawkes: Reviews the recent UK/EU talks and notes the following, " It’s easy to skim over all the progress that has been made. Guido’s not sure the EU would want to throw all of that away over access to fish…"

Lets Get Real:

It is interesting that both Sky News ( Pro Remain Home ) and Guido ( more on the Brexit Side ) agree that it is interesting to read between the lines, this blog would not be quick to dismiss the importance of fish to the EU, the French have fished in British waters for years, and so do other EU Countries, there hair will be on fire if the EU has give up one of their most important demands, these leaders will not want to be seen as having folded to the British over fish.   Thus sometimes it is what it is on the box, that the UK might be heading for a NO DEAL BREXIT on December 31st, that would follow the demands of the UK voter, we want out, and we have voted twice for that, how many times does LONDON need to hear that.

UK/EU Talks Part 2 - Brexit Update 2 - Transitional Phase

Sky News: Reports " Brexit: UK must 'face possibility' of no deal on future relationship with EU by end of transition...Chief negotiator David Frost says the UK must "continue preparing for all possible scenarios" for the end of the transition.  "

Lets Get Real:

It is interesting that the analysis by Sky sees some brights lights, that the two main problems are fish and Government support for business sectors.  In this analysis, fish more a political problem, it is symbolic that the UK will control its fish in its waters ( one can argue that is a big problem if you are Brexit supporter ) the other is on Government support for business.  If you're an independent nation you decide on how you spend Government money not the EU.  It seems that the ECJ has been removed as a problem, but then who judges if there are disagreements between the EU and the UK, the UK Courts would be  a good idea, as long as they behave themselves.  If you take the sides at their word, then it looks like the UK will have a NO DEAL Brexit, at last freedom from the EU, that is what the British voter voted for in 2016 and 2019.   At some point PM Boris will have to pull the plug and keep our fish. Thus more talks, does the EU ever grow up!!

UK/EU Talks - Brexit Update 1 - Transitional Phase

Lets Get Real:

The UK/EU talks are like a death of a thousand cuts, no progress so far, and neither side have moved, the one light seems that the EU has seen that the ECJ will not be part of the deal.   On fisheries ( UK Fish in UK Waters ) the UK Government is not moving, also on a level playing field, that is how much money a Government can use to support companies.   There will be further talks in August and September, let's hope that the EU does not do its usual practice and wait for December 31st, that would be FAR TO LATE.  This blog is urging the UK Government to cut bait and pull stumps, just say its over and business has to get ready for December 31st.   If there are problems after the deadline then we can have talks with the EU, these endless talks are going nowhere, it must drive the diplomats to distraction or a drink.   It does that for this blog!!.
