Russia and Turkey - Turkish Crisis

Quote

Lets Get Real:

Thus if the characters do as they are expected we will have a frosty relationship between Russia and Turkey, the Russians will not push their luck with the Turks again, the NATO alliance will be supportive without actually doing anything, and the West can get back to fighting the real enemy, that being Daesh.  Lets hope the characters in this mini sage play their lines and stick to the script and do not freelance.   That could cause problems for everyone.

Obama on downed Russian Plane - Turkish Crisis

Lets Get Real:

The problem that President Obama has is that he is getting flak from Republicans and Democrats for not hitting Daesh hard enough, now he has Turkey a NATO member taking  down Russian fighter, the Oval has to be supportive of Turkey but also keep the tensions down and have the Russians talk to the Turks, and get some areas of control were they will not get messed up with each other.    Any weakness by President on this issue will open him to attack from the Republicans that he is not defending an ally.   The twos sides, Russia and Turkey should have some harsh rhetoric, get it out of their system and then let the issue die. If any takes other military then we have a new ball game, lets hope we never reach that point.

The Russian - Turkey Crisis - Turkey

Lets Get Real:

As suggested by this blog and others a Russian airplane pushed its luck with Turkey, of course it is not possible to say if the Russian pilot acted under orders or was a hot shot who thought he could tweak the Turkish nose.   As expected the Russians are all fury, so far they have lost a fighter plane and a helicopter that was sent to rescue the downed crew, so far from reports it seems that the crew were shot down as they came in to land on the Syrian side of the border.  There are no reports of any deaths from the helicopter.   The problem for the West and Russia is Syria, the Russians see Daesh as a threat but Moscow wants to keep Assad in power at all costs, thus they are attacking Assad enemies,  while the West wants the back of Assad and for the Russians to take the fight to Daesh.   After the bombing of the Russian plane and the Paris terrorist attacks the West wants to take action, but the problems IN Syria are difficult to solve.  Thus how will the present crisis end, well Putin has been highly critical of Turkey, but he is no fool, thus no action, the Turks have called in NATO.   The NATO alliance should support Turkey, minus doinging anything.   That is how is should end, egos hurt and with low cost of lives, lets see if the West, Turkey and Russia can act like grown ups.
