New York Times: The Chair and Vice Chair of the 9/11 Commission are not happy that their Commission was not informed of the CIA Tapes. They write in the NYT the following, " What we do know is that government officials decided not to inform a lawfully constituted body, created by Congress and the president, to investigate one the greatest tragedies to confront this country. We call that obstruction. " They have a point, this smells like Pearl Harbour all over again, after 9/11 the Commission should have had all the information, if we don't learn from the past we will make the same mistakes in the future.

The Ghost of 9/11
New York Times: The Chair and Vice Chair of the 9/11 Commission are not happy that their Commission was not informed of the CIA Tapes.
CIA Tapes Destruction and Law
New York Times: Reports that an outside Prosecutor, John H. Durham has been bought in to look at the destruction of the CIA Tapes. The paper is never happy it writes the following, " Mr. Durham was not appointed as a special counsel in this case, a step sought by some Congressional Democrats. He will have less expansive authority than a special counsel and will report to the deputy attorney general rather than assume the powers of the attorney general, which he would have had as a special counsel. " This is a wise move by the Justice Department, just in case we have a Prosecutor like we had in the Libby Case, the Justice Department can make sure he keeps to brief, and deals with the actual case. Expect many a story about this case in the NYT, its Watergate in their eyes.
CNN Poll
CNN: Has a new poll that shows the Senator McCain has tied with Governor Romney in New Hampshire. If one looks at the general trend of the polls one can see that McCain has a good chance of winning New Hampshire. A repeat of 2000. The question is can he win the nomination down the line.
If Huckabee wins tomorrow, this should cut the Romney lead by a few points in N.H. As the Primary is within a few days gives McCain a chance, but he has to be tough, more tougher political adds. McCain is a War Hero, use it and win.
New Hampshire Poll
Franklin Pierce University: Reports a new Poll that has Senator John McCain ahead again over Romney. I am going to make a prediction, McCain takes N.H. The Republican contest comes down to S.C.
Here are the results of the poll:
McCain 37 %
Romney 31 %
If Huckabee wins Iowa, McCain will take N.H. A very interesting race will develop.
Robert Novak Tip
The respected Reporter Robert Novak has predicted that Obama and Romney will win Iowa. Novak is the best in the business when it comes to Presidential Politics.
Iowa Result - Republicans ?
On the Republican side, even with his faults over the past week I see Huckabee winning Iowa, those of a religious faith will go out in to the cold to support their guy. In second Romney should not be far behind. His toughest match is in New Hampshire with Senator McCain. The third ticket out of Iowa goes to McCain. If McCain can come in third, he should win N.H five days later.
Iowa Result - Democrats ?
This is prediction time for the Iowa Result, its like putting your head on the chopping block!! On the Democratic Side I see the following results.
The winner is Obama, he has the intense support, but this comes from younger supporters, Univ Students. If they have recovered from the New Year Celebration and can get out of bed they will support Obama. As to Second this is a very close call, Edwards or Clinton, Edwards has union support, always good to have in the Democratic field. On the other hand Clinton has the money and the ground work, her support on the whole comes from older women, over 50. The question will Union supporters over take older women. As Edwards has lived and breathed Iowa since the 2004 Presidential Election this should give him second place. The question does it matter, he is getting public money, cant compete with Obama and Clinton outside Iowa. Then Hillary Clinton should come in third. The question is, how much behind Edwards will she be, my gut is telling me that it wont be as close as the pundits are calling it, Clinton just might be some way behind Obama and Edwards. If Clinton can win N.H she can became the second Comeback Candidate after her husband.
