Gallup: Reports that the race is tied, the poll finds the following, Obama 45% - McCain 44%. It seems that the Arrogant/Star tag has done its work. Also the hard hitting attack by the McCain Camp on the Obama when he used the race card could see McCain going ahead in some polls, its something to look for over the next few days.
Rasmussen: Reports that Obama has a 1% lead over McCain. The Poll finds the following, Obama 47% - McCain 46%. The Polls are interesting as they sample different groups, Gallup does Registered Voters while Rasmussen does Likely voters. But they both show a very close race, in a close race Obama does not win. Obama needs a large margin to win, one has to take in to account those that lie to the pollsters and state the PC answer, in other words what the NYT thinks in true. Obama has to recall he is not President and run as the underdog, he has to move to the centre and be a hawk on Foreign Policy, the more he panders to the left the more chance he will lose. ADVICE TO OBAMA HIMSELF, DROP THE ARROGANCE IS NOT APPEALING TO THE VOTERS. ALSO ON THE WHOLE OBAMA COMES ACROSS AS A BETTER MAN THAN THAT, IN OTHER WORDS DON'T BELIEVE YOUR OWN PRESS.
The RCP Average of Polls has Obama only leading by 2.7. With the Olympics coming up it will be interesting to see how the Polls stand up and how the Campaigns cope without the air of the press.
