UK PM gives EU three Months to do a DEAL over a Trade Deal - Transitional Period

Lets Get Real:

The EU has to get off its cushy backside and see the REAL WORLD.   The UK in 2016 and 2019 voted to leave the EU, we finally did that on January 31st 2020.   It can be argued that the UK voter also made it clear that the UK should leave the single market and the customs union, the restrictions of the EU is the last thing the UK needs after COVID - 19.  A sovereign UK can do deals with the rest of the World without having to get the OKAY from Brussels.  If the EU wants a deal then it will have to budge on its support for the European Court of Justice and the idea that UK waters should be OPEN TO ALL EU countries.  The EU blew its chance with the UK when it would not agree to the requests from PM Cameron to reform the relationship.   The EU should accept the demands of the British, we will not be moved or talked down too.

Although FDR's New Deal plans mitigated the Great Depression for US VOTERS, it was World War 2 that bought the US out of the Great Depression, that was because the US Government did not stop spending and rejuvenated US economy.   Also PM Boris should remember that buildings alone do not cut it, you have to create a private sector that hires people.  It was noted in South Wales that the EU had spent a shed load on buildings but did not create jobs.  So new buildings and government spending should also include cuts to taxes thus making the North of England and South Wales a place that a businessman/woman would want to develop his/her business.   The PM is getting back to his manifesto pledges of 2019, that is good, but he has to ask himself, does it bring jobs in a hurry.

The vote of the Chief Justice showed that he is a TRUE CONSERVATIVE, abortion rights is a private matter between a woman and her Doctor, and as a Conservative you should support the limited role of the Government in such actions.  A true Conservative believes in LIMITED role for the Government to run people's private lives.  This blog would end the drug problem in the US by making drugs legal, cutting the prices paid to drug pushers and their bosses and thus help get off drugs while being supported by the Government.   The US Congress and Courts should limit the ownership of guns, that is one issue when the US Courts should limit the rights of Americans to bare arms.  A good decision today by the Supremes.

The Germans have LEARNED NOTHING on how to deal with the UK, the May years were a disaster and NOW the Germans are grandstanding to please Brussels and the French.  The UK has made it CLEAR twice, once in 2016 and then in 2019 that we want out of the EU.  The hard approach of the EU will not go down well the the UK voter.    The Germans were expected to bring some reality in to the game, the above article shows how to really push the buttons of the UK voter.  The UK PM has stated that a deal should be gotten by the end of July, thus far it does not look good.   The EU has to smell the coffee and make a good deal with the UK or else we become the competition.

The next General Election is planned for December 19th 2024, of course this  under the fixed term Parliament Act, the Conservative Manifesto promised to repeal that ACT, this would allow the PM to chose the day of the General Election.  If the House of Commons passes the removal of the Fixed Term Parliament then the next election could be in 2023.  The Labour Party needs to rebuild the red wall and show Labour voters that they can be trusted.  In the 2019 election they had three problems, Jeremy Corbyn, Brexit and the Anti Jewish perception of the Labour Party.  The first two have been fixed, Corbyn is OUT, and Brexit by the end of the year will be done.  The Anti Jewish perception will be removed if Starmer carries on with his zero tolerance of any alleged negative Jewish statements by Labour members, MPs etc.   This has been a good two days for Starmer.

The sacking of Rebecca Long - Bailey showed that the new Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer has STEEL in the blood, this was Starmer's clause 4 moment, it was a good fight to have with the LEFT.  In one stroke he removed his challenger from the leadership race and rebuffed the HARD LEFT of the Labour Party.   The Conservatives should keep an eye on Starmer, his PM Q/A's show a man who down on the detail, even if he has had a charisma by - pass.   Boris has to make sure that he gets BREXIT DONE, and spends more money on keeping people in either work or helping companies after the furlough scheme is finished.  At least the Government has a decent Opposition, will Starmer be the next PM ?, good start, but its a long road.

This is a shock, the left supporting the EU Guardian has pointed out that the EU is trying to pull a fast one at the trade talks, in essence, they want to allow the EU countries to support their farmers with financial support while placing the UK is a straight jacket when it comes to supporting our FARMERS. No wonder trade agreement take years, if countries try to pull stunts like that.    The UK has to be firm, the UK will support our farmers no matter what the EU does and we will not be restricted by the EU.   What a cheek by the EU, they really need to get the FACT that the UK has left the EU and we will leave its regulations at the end of the YEAR.  Keep up the good work Boris! 

Pubs OPEN in England and 1.5 distance rule in ENGLAND - COVID - 19 - Health/Economy

It seems that England will get the BENEFITS of opening up again, while Welsh people have to wait for our Lords and Masters in Cardiff to have some political courage and OPEN WALES.   This is the problem when you have one Party in power for forever, they know they will never pay a political price, that South Wales will always return a Labour candidate, even it if was a mule.   The Welsh economy is like just any other economy, specially in the North, we need the tourist rate and we need the pubs and barbers to OPEN ( even those with little hair, need a good cut ).  The Welsh Assembly should get off its brains and OPEN UP WALES, or face voters recalling that they cost JOBS and send the Welsh economy down the toilet, all for political gain, as they never pay a price for being fools.

THIS is the 2nd time that the UK could have gone BROKE, the first was the near banking collapse under PM Gordon Brown ( 2007 - 2010 ) and now the the news that the UK Government came close to going broke as it could not sell its bonds.  The MAJOR DISASTER that is COVID -19 could damage the economy for years, when the Government STOPS paying the wages of workers these workers might find that their companies can no longer afford them and thus the CHOP, thus unemployment echoing the 1980s.   One does wonder did PM Johnson expect such crisis points before he become PM.   It was smart for the PM to have an election in 2019, he has four and half years to fix any damages to the Conservative brand.

Thus the REMAINERS are at it again, they lost in keeping the UK in the EU, now they want to return to the era of the MAY GOVERNMENT, of the UK never leaving the EU.   The PM is right, if the EU does not give concessions, and concessions we want, then the UK will cut the ties with the EU from December 31st.   The HARD REMAINERS want to return to the ERA of Speaker Bercow, another HARD REMAINER who used his position to prevent a UK exit of the EU.   The UK voter wants out of the EU, it has made that clear TWICE, in 2016 and 2019.  PM Boris is following the will of the UK voter, the REMAINERS have never accepted DEMOCRACY, it's only DEMOCRACY if they agree with it.   Brexit supporters must keep a careful eye on the REMAINER base of power and counter them on line.

Thus the 2020 Presidential Election starts in the US, this will be the first Trump rally since COVID - 19 struck, the President has not had a good week, he has lost two cases before the US Supreme Court and one of his former National Security Advisers has written a tell all book on Trump and working method in the White House.  A caged Trump stuck in the White House is one thing, Trump on the road with his rallies is another, all the polls that show Biden winning by 14 points should be thrown in the bin, it should be recalled that HRC won the popular vote over Trump in 2016, it came down to the rust belt States that gave a electoral vote to Trump.  One can expect POTUS to spend the next few months on the road, trying to get the economy back on the road and stressing that he is being thwarted by a LIBERAL Establishment back in D.C.   This is going to be a long and bitter race, it is not over till the fat lady sings.

The EU is NOW waking up to the FACT that it can no longer bully the UK, and that the UK is firm, the ECJ will not have a final say on any deal done between the EU and the UK.   The UK should not move an inch, the UK voter still recalls when our then PM was made to stay in  a different room while the others talked about their position.   One can not see Churchill or Thatcher putting up with that, not even in their last breath.   The EU wants talks on security and foreign policy, the UK wisely has not even set out our thoughts on this subject, once we are out of the EU after December 31st we will not need the permission of the EU to act.   The PM has to stay firm while coming under pressure from the Remainers in the UK (that being the Guardian, The Times, BBC News and Sky News ) and from Germany and France.  This is Johnson's Churchill moment.

The UK economy has become a service economy over the years, the pubs and restaurants will find it hard to do the 2 metre rule, also some EU countries are imposing a 1 metre to 1.5 Metre distance.   The PM should take a tough decision and scrap the 2 metre rule, that would save the service industries and save jobs.  If there are 3.5 million unemployed, it will be a major shock to the economic system and to the young starting out in the workforce.   Those that recall the 1980s, know it was a tough period, but then we had a great PM in Lady Thatcher, will PM Boris be able to match Churchill and Thatcher, on truly hopes so, otherwise the UK will be in big trouble.

Thus both the UK and EU want a new push for a trade deal between the UK and the EU, and what did the talks today do, NOT MUCH, just window dressing, as if both sides are running down the clock, they want to be seen to try to do something, the main areas of disconnect are still there from OUR FISH to the role of the ECJ.  It would be in the interest of the EU, and in this case, France and Germany to get a deal, the UK is in a major recession anyway due to COVID - 19, thus the damage will be done to the economy will not be that great, this might not be the case with France and Germany.   Thus they will not want to damage their economies with high trade taxes on imports to the UK.  Also the UK voter wants OUT, they want to end the freedom of movement, the end of the ECJ in UK law.  The next month will be interesting, if the EU does not move the UK at the end of August should say we are going for a NO DEAL BREXIT.

The gloomy predictions for the economy have been around for a few weeks, the biggest recession since the early 18th Century.  It will be the job of the Bank of England and the UK Treasury to get the Ship of State stable and ready for Brexit at the end of the year.  The UK Government should borrow billions and pay it off over decades, and then invest in the economy with tax cuts and lower business rates, that will drive the EU mad, some good news there then.  The next few years could be dire, high unemployment and inflation will come back sooner or later, thus prices will go up and so will mortgages.  One crisis at a time, thank goodness PM Boris has a majority of 80, these MPs should recall the early 80s, they have to stand up for the Government and accept that the polls will not always be good.

This blog is happy today, we have formally told the EU to get lost, one always thought that either the Government would change its mind because of COVID - 19 or that the remainers had a sneaky way to prevent the UK leaving the EU.  The Government has announced that there will be a phased check at goods coming in to the UK, this will give business time to get ready.  Of course the EU might introduce check on all goods, just to be difficult, we shall wait and see.   The Remainers would be crying in to their pints, if they know what us plebs drink, they have finally seen their dream of a EU State go down the toilet.  A very happy day.

The Hard Remainers in the press have been hard at it, they have suggested an extension to the transitional period, anything to keep the UK in the clutches of the EU.   The hard remainers can not see that the UK out of the EU can bloom, new trade deals with other Countries and an expansion of the economy, making the UK a centre for business and internatioanl trade.   One can expect that the HARD REMAINERS wil use the press and courts to block the end of the transitional period.   The remainers have shown they are sneaky from 2016 to 2019, PM May had a nightmare time as PM because of the hard remainers and the leavers using the Courts and House of Commons to block a deal.  The 2019 General Election gave the Conservatives  a 80 Seat majority, thus no reason for not having a NO DEAL BREXIT.

THIS is the time for the EU to change its agenda or for the UK to say that they will be no extension and that the UK will cut ties with the EU on December 31st of this year.  The French and Germans have not allowed the EU team that is dealing with a  Brexit deal much area to move to the UK line.   OUR fish are our fish, and the ECJ will not have the final say on any legal problems in the future.  The PM has to be firm and to be seen as being firm, any weakness will be jumped on by the EU and the ERG in Conservative ranks.  This is Boris's Churchill moment!

It will be up to the leaders of Germany and France to decide if they want to grant concessions, they know that a NO DEAL Brexit could damage them, to add to the results of COVID 19.  As the Germans fund the EU on the whole, the final decision will be up to them, if they make demands that the UK can not swallow the UK should walk away.   This MONTH according to the withdrawal agreement is the last month that the UK can ask for an extension, the PM has made it CLEAR that he will not call for an extension, and would refuse a request from the EU to add an extension.   Thus the Germans and the French better get their act together and DEAL or else face a NO DEAL BREXIT.

This blog has no time for statues to slave owners or to the naming of military bases after confederate Generals ( although General Robert .E. Lee was an outstanding General for the Confederate side, while the North had US Grant, a greater General in the long term ) What this blog does have a problem is trying to remove history, e.g the removal of statues by mobs, in the USSR under Stalin it was the practice to removes the images of those that had fallen foul of Stalin, they airbrushed pictures, wrong then, wrong now with the statues.   The left has to remember that in election terms they could sink the Democrats if they force the Party to the LEFT, the dissolution of Police Forces, the removal of history, could lead to moderate voters to think that the Dems have gone crazy and that Biden is an unfit President.   MOBS come and go, if its raining you do not see them, mob rule has to be countered by the Police, if mobs tear down statues then that mob should be arrested.  The UK and the US are Democracies, you make change through the ballot box otherwise you have mob rule and society falling apart.

The HARD REMAINERS within the House of Commons, that means mostly the Opposition Parties and a few Conservatives, will use this time and any sneaky thing they can come up with to force the Government  to ask for an extension, their fellow HARD REMAINERS in the BBC/Guardian/Times will have articles that stress that NO DEAL is the end of the World, they are more concerned about EU than Covid - 19.   The economic hit from COVID - 19  will be felt for years if not decades.   The UK has to be firm, NO EXTENSION and the EU has to go our way on a trade deal or we walk away, that is what the UK voted for in 2016 and 2019.

This will be a LET DOWN to the general public, it seems that the pubs have been closed more than they have been opened this year.  In essence the pub industry will be hoping that people will be so thirsty because of COVID 19 that they will rush to the pubs, even with the two meter rule.  It can be postulated that a lot of small pubs will never open again as they are to small and the rule of two meters does not allow for enough people to come in to make it economic sense to open.  The Government needs to get the economy moving, or the RECESSION will become a DEPRESSION, millions could be out of work, it has been suggested that we will back to the early 1980s when three millions people were out of work. Tough decisions will have to be made by the Government, the economy or health of the people, what comes first.

This will place pressure on the EU to do a DEAL and fast.   This is the final month that the UK can ask for an extension to the transitional talks, the UK has made it clear that there will be NO REQUEST, even if the BBC/Guardian Remainers want to extend the deal.  The PM is expected to have a meeting with the EU this month, the PM has to be VERY clear with the EU, give us a trade deal we want or else we WALK and we will carry on talks with Japan and the US for a trade deal.   COVID - 19 has taken all the headline news, but the bigger story is the UK/EU talks that impact will last for years, the EU better wake up and smell the coffee, it's make DEAL TIME or else, the EU loses access to UK MARKETS.

The States that fish UK waters do not want to lose their share of the fish, thus they are placing pressure on EU to be firm.  When the PM goes to Brussels this month he has to be CRYSTAL CLEAR with the EU, they are OUR FISH and OUR WATERS, we get to decide who fishes in them not the EU.   The Germans and the French can take a running jump, they do not control UK foreign policy.   If there is a NO DEAL, then the UK will have a free hand when it comes to making TRADE DEALS.  The EU is running OUT OF TIME, they better get a deal NOW, later might be to late.

The Police forces around the Country should refuse to allow any protests, the UK is still in lockdown, and protests by its very definition means groups of people who are not 2 meters apart. Thus the protesters are breaking the law, and causing criminal damage to statues, if you want them removed, stand for election, the criminal acts of the last few hours show how out of control the protesters have become. In the days ahead the Police need to be out, trounches on hand to protect LAW AND ORDER. This is not 1968 or the poll tax revolt, these criminal protesters are mindless thugs who should be arrested and thrown in jail.

The protesters should be arrested, they are breaking down lockdown, thus more cases of the virus and deaths, will they care if they kill more people, also they are doing criminal damage to statues.   The Police should NOT ALLOW mass demonstrations if those protesting can not behave, they should send for the Paddy wagon to throw these protesters in jail, the Guardian/BBC types will never call them out on it, also lets get REAL, they defaced a statue of Winston Churchill, who in May 1940 defended Western Democracy against those that wanted to appease Hitler and got the UK ready to fight World War 2.  These mobs are to well arganised, they should be investigated by Special Branch and MI5.  Law and order must be returned to the streets.

The Germans to the rescue in September, that is novel, that was too easy to let go, September might be to late, the UK should tell business this week to get ready for a NO DEAL BREXIT, we can go on Australian rules.  The UK has been firm so far with the EU, the UK is a now a Sovereign State and we will decide who fishes in our waters and who can do a judicial review in to our actions, and it should not be the European Court of Justice, they need to keep OUT of UK legal affairs.  Later on this month the UK PM will visit the EU, the PM should be firm, he has a  80 Seat majority and it was based on the UK being OUT of the EU, with COVID - 19 the UK economy will be in  a mess anyway, the economic ramifications of the virus WILL be worse than BREXIT, thus the PM should go all the way, the UK first and last.

If the EU has any funny ideas or the individual States of blocking UK Ports then they should be reminded that we are out of the EU and we have our WATERS and FISH back.   Also we have the Royal Navy that will defend our Ports against any FISHING BLOCKADE, as noted in the article the French have tried this before, the French fisherman have undue power over their Governments.  The UK Government should be FIRM, after December 31st the transitional period ends and any past agreements on our fish also come to an end.  This is typical of the EU and interested parties, they try to blackmail Sovereign States.  Time for PM Boris to say NO to the EU and to France.

This blog believes in custom, you have to be in the House of Commons  and be in the Palace of Westminster to vote.  The voters send MPs back to London to do the business of Government, if a MP has a problem with that he or she should have told the voters before they were elected.  The Government must go on, there are important votes on Brexit to come, and MPs are expected to WORK for their wages, and not by remote talking and voting.  The Conservative Government was right to be firm with the their MPs, it was a three line whip, those that broke that rule need to be seen by the Chief Whip, they can always be placed on the Boer War Committee and that one is endless and you get no tea breaks, and everybody who was in charge are DEAD, they would have to spend hours reading history and memoirs and then the official records, it is endless, even going to South Africa to visit the sites, but not during the cricket season.   Yes back to the gulag for these MPs.

The Conservative NAUGHTY STEP has new members, and some of them are hard BREXIT supporters, they got used during the May period to having their mugs on the TV, mostly in opposition to the Government, now they are starting with PM Boris, but the trick that PM has is the fact that he has a 80 seat majority, and the new members of the Commons want to go up the greasy poll and become Ministers and finally in to the Cabinet.  The former Ministers and HARD REMAINERS have nothing to lose, as politicians their careers are over, either because they were sacked as a Minister or they are HARD REMAINERS who can not be trusted.  The Government set out a 3 line whip, for its members to support the Government, the Chief Whip needs a stern work with these rebels, stop them before they start causing trouble.

As usual the left wing Guardian takes the side of the EU, both sides want an agreement that they can sell as a victory, the problem is that the EU normally expect countries to buckle and give way, this will not happen in 2020, Boris Johnson won the recent election on getting Brexit done, that means that the EU has to give way or the UK will walk out.  If that is the outcome it will be hard for the UK, but after COVID - 19 we are already in a mess, it will hardly add to our problems.  The UK PM can go out and and make deal with the rest of the World, without having to worry about the EU.  If we extend the transition deal we will have to pay for such an honour.  The British voter out in 2019, this must be the final result.

Lets Get Real:

It would be unlawful for a President to send US troops in to States if they have not been requested, the US Constitution and the Law is firm on that.  The President used his Rose Garden and his walk to the Church as a great pic opportunity, he also held a Bible.   This PR moment could do wonders for him in the rust belt States.   The Democrats have to recall that after the race riots of 1968, it was the Republican Richard Nixon who WON over the sitting VP to LBJ.   On the whole main street wants peaceful streets and law and order.  The problem with Trump, is that when something goes right for him, he messes it up before it can do any good for his job approval ratings.

Lets Get Real:

This blog belives in peaceful protests, but what has occured over the last week is not peaceful protest, if the Police tell you to move on, you  move, you do not sit down and make them take action in removing protesters from the STREET.  Of course from the perception of the arch liberal CNN, its all Trump's fault, does anyone really listen to CNN for balanced news, its gone like the The New York Times, produced by the elite for the elite and for self hating white liberals.  If protesters do not move the RIOT ACT should be read, three warnings and then the Police and the National Guard should go on and arrest those protesters who disobey a Policeman or the National Guard.   The Democrats have to be careful, if they are seen for the protesters who throw things at the police and destroy property they face losing to Trump in November.   Main street America is not the arch liberal hubs of New York and LA.   It's hard to watch the once great network of CNN almost becoming a supporter of the protesters and not just reporting them.
