Lets Get Real:

The UK House of Commons passed the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill and know it goes to the House of Lords, there House of Lords should be called the House of Remainers, expect the Remainers to try to change the bill, they want to keep EU law in the hope that the UK will rejoin, this looks like a stupid idea, since even Sir Keir Starmer has accepted that the UK will not go back in to the EU, thus it can be postulated that Brexit is save with both the Conservatives and Labour Parties.  Once the House of Lords changes the above bill there changes can either be thrown out or accepted by the House of Commons, as the Conservatives have a good majority they should be able to push it through.  The UK people have made it CLEAR that they want the UK out of the EU, and it's about time the House of Lords accepted that, or else it might be time to abolish them, it's only a home for failed politicians.

The King should not be dragged in to this, it's a argument between the rest of the UK and Scotland, as to the move by UK Government this blog supports the move and would suggest 21 should be the minimum age before someone can change their gender in legal terms.   This blog was an idiot before it turned 21, it was simple and did not understand the real world, therefore 21 should be the starting age for such change.  The Scottish First Minister has lost the plot, she has started to believe her own spin, never a good by a politician and she wants to make Scotland Independent of the rest of the UK, this blog is not sure that she could win a referendum on the issue, is this a case of the left going well off the reservation and knowing that FACT.  Good move by the UK Government, so who holds the power, and it's not the Scottish Parliament when it comes to this issue.

It seems that the EU is unware of HISTORY, the UK does not react well to THREATS from Europe. we wait and then WIN, the EU needs us more than we need them at the moment, with the exception of FRANCE, there are no other nuclear powers in Europe.  The does EU really think that Putin takes EU in a serious manner, the EU sanctions on Russia are good but will take time.  The Russian rouble has returned to previous level before the invasion of Ukraine in February.  Also Russian business has taken over the business brands that have LEFT Russia due to the Ukraine War.  Thus as stated, sanctions could take a long time, ,and one has to worry that EU will stay united, it already has problems with Hungary, who against Russians gas sanctions, as they get a majority of their gas from Russia.  Also Europe has been slow in giving heavy arms to Ukraine, the Berlin Government sent caps at first, and they have been foot dragging over their promises.  Thus the EU might need the UK down the road, the EU will have to decide, does it care about petty small print or its power abroad.  The Brussels tails is leading the rest of it, somewhere down the line it will be needed to taken down a bit, or else the EU will look like a eunuch.

The sole interest of this blog is that the UNION of the UK works, if the House of Commons agrees to these changes, see previous post, then that is LAW, the international consequences does not bother this blog.  This is the reason that the UK voted in 2016 to leave the EU, the House of Commons will decide this, not some lawyers that the lefts always picks, and not the UK Court, the UK Courts have gotten out of hand, they should follow UK LAW, not make law up as they do in the United States, see posts on abortion.  This is a chance to preserve the Union of the UK and Northern Ireland, the consequences on the World Stage be dammed.  If the changes is gains the approval of the people of the province and gets the Unionists back in to the Northern Ireland Assembly so let it be.  The Labour Party and the those in the Opposition are more interested in bowing down to the  EU, PM Boris does not, that is the reason he won in 2019.

The usual rubbish from the EU, they are more interested in keeping to the fine print than finding REAL solutions to the problem, the Irish support Brussels great shock.  The UK has to carry on, have talks with the EU but make it CLEAR that they lawyers are saying that the changes are alright due to the problems that are being created in the province by the Northern Ireland Protocol, if the EU wants a TRADE WAR, so be it, the EU needs to be taught, correction Brussels needs to be taught a lesson, they a bit players on the WORLD STAGE, the crisis in the Ukraine has shown that, the West wants a STRONG NATO, not a supper silly Brussels who think they are STATE.  Lady Thatcher is can be postulated would have approved of the action by the UK Government, she would have thrown her handbag to good effect.

The Assembly elections in Northern Ireland has given the Nationalists more seats in the Assembly than the Unionist side, thus they get to nominate the FIRST MINISTER, but this can only happen if the Unionists come on board and nominate a Deputy Minister, neither officer holders can do anything without the approval of the other, and the Unionists have made it clear, no ASSEMBLY without the removal of the Northern Ireland Protocol, thus No 10 has no choice but to invoke Article 16 of the Withdrawal Agreement to suspend the protocol, the EU will hit the roof, its their fault, they have been slow and stubborn, and if the EU as the UK wants the Assembly to work they either move or the UK does, it is that simple, it is what it is.  The UK PM does not need the strife of no Assembly in the Northern Ireland, thus he must invoke Article 16 and have a bloody row with the EU, better than blood on the street in Belfast and other areas in the Province.

The Labour Party and Sir Keir has been caught out, he was caught on mobile video drinking and in the company of the Deputy Leader and thirty other people.  Also the take way cost over 200 pounds, if that is not a PARTY, then this blog does not know what a PARTY IS ( As a policy this blogger never goes to such events ).  The Labour Leader has made Parties at No 10 the only thing that he talked about for weeks, even suggested that the PM should resign because he was being investigated, so when will Sir Keir; he a former Director of Prosecutions should have KNOW the law; going to resign, of course he is not going to resign, when the shoe is on the other foot, like all politicians the law should be different in his case, a poor Conservative MP had to resign for watching porn by accident at first and the 2nd time by choice, having a drink is not a criminal offense, even when it committed by Sir Sir Keir, also celebrating your birthday should not be a criminal offence, the Met trying to divert attention from their bad apples.   The COVID - 19 rules were crazy, and Sir Keir and Boris having a celebration should not be a criminal issue, 10 Downing Street should ask its lawyers to go to Court to have the 50 pound sanction revoked and the Durham Police should let Sir Keir off the hook and make a stand for common sense.

Who really cares about the above, the BBC News and Sky News have the usual suspects, those that have never gotten over Brexit and those in the Conservative Party that were on the WRONG side during Brexit, also those that have always hated PM.  The Conservative Party must know it cannot lose its PM and Chancellor, that would be to much, thus Conservative MPs must hold their nerve, they might loath the PM but the cannot give the Opposition what it wants, if the PM does go then they will demand a General Election, do Conservative MPs really want a leadership contest and a general election, not if they are sane.   Also such developments would please Putin of Russia, that is the last thing that the West needs to give the Kremlin.  Thus Conservative MPs should stay silent and hold their nerve, the PM is not this bloggers favourite PM, but thus far there is no successor, the one person people were talking about, the Chancellor has enough problems with his wife's tax status and his US green card, thus who else, you could have dozen people running, right before we could face World War 3 over the Ukraine.  Thus MPs should stay calm, and not spout their views in public.

Is the UK about to FOLD, is our feckless PM about to fold due to the pressure from the sleaze allegations, and the lack of success at the Green Summit, why would the UK tone change, is the Government trying to show that it really tried to get a deal or has the PM decide that a TRADE WAR before Christmas is not a good idea, who knows, it does seem to have been a sudden change.  One had the impression that after the Glasgow Summit the PM would invoke Article 16, it should be noted that the Unionist Parties in Northern Ireland expect reform of Northern Ireland Protocol or to suspended it, the DUP has stated that it will bring down the Provinces Government if there is no reform of the protocol, and the Polls for the Unionist Parties is not good, what could really be damaging is if the Nationalist were the largest Party in the Northern Ireland Assembly, that could lead to new trouble on the streets, so the UK PM is caught behind the 8ball, whatever he does there will be rough consequences for him on the political front and for the province of Northern Ireland.

As reported on Sky News today the EU wants to play hardball if the UK invokes Article 16, in this they might have problem, what will Poland and Hungary do, also it is reported that Germany is not in favour, the pressure for tough action is coming from Ireland and France, the French reason is EASY, the President faces a election next year and wants to be seen to be tough on the British, while the Dublin Government knows that it might have to set up border posts on its side of the border for any EU threat to mean anything.  Also the consequences of invoking Article 16 will take time, do the Irish want a TRADE WAR before Christmas, and also the pressure from Brussels to place border posts up, the UK will follow the Good Friday Agreement, force the EU to cause problems in the province, that will look good for the EU, the EU has more to lose, it should cut a deal, even if the French are not happy, the French are never happy.

The TOUGH policy of the Conservative Government is working, the EU only understands a BRICK WALL and the Johnson Government is that, the Northern Ireland Protocol has to be re-written or the UK will invoke Article 16 and remove ALL EU checks from Great Britain to the Northern Ireland.  The BRUSSELS EU must understand we will not move, if they want a TRADE WAR, so be it, all sides will LOSE and the voters in different countries will start to ask, what business does EU have in Northern Ireland, the answer is ZERO,  the EU is out there these days, it is having problems with Poland and Hungary, how many other States does it want to cause problem for.  The EU does remind this blogger of the Austro - Hungarian Empire, the Centre cannot hold if the fringes will not comply and the UK is no ones fringe!! The EU has more to lose if the UK invokes Article 16, the trade between the UK and the EU has gone down, so we are ready for a TRADE WAR, also it would force Ireland as representing the EU to place borders posts or their SIDE of the BORDER.  This will place the Republic in a awkward spot, the Good Friday Agreement allows for free travel between the province and the Republic, its part of a international treaty, thus who will the Irish say NO to, either the UK or to the EU.   It is about time the UK played HARDBALL with the the EU, with the World still dealing with COVID 19 how much damage does the EU want to do to EU Countries and the UK.   The EU is behind the 8ball, and it knows it, they are hoping that PM Boris will not invoke article 16, will the political problems that the PM has as the present, it would be a good time to invoke Article 16, its the right thing to do and will divert attention from present political problems.

Lord Frost replied to the EU before the EU gives out its new version of the Northern Ireland Protocol, the Minister stated that European Court of Justice was a major problem, and has to be dealt with, if the EU gives real solutions to the problems of the protocol and allow normal business between the GB and the province that would help, it will be interesting to see the reaction from business to the new ideas from the EU, if they work then the ECJ might not matter that much, the Unionist Parties could be the problem, if they bring down the government of the province, that could lead to trouble in the streets, so the Unionist Parties have to be bought along, this is why the ECJ part has to be reformed.  It will be interesting to see how the intense talks with the UK and the EU go, can they bring real solutions and political solutions that work for the province.

The UK has to be FIRM with the EU, the speech was a hammer in a velvet glove, the UK at the end day has responsibility for Northern Ireland, it also has a duty to make sure that the Good Friday Agreement is kept and there is no return to the troubles.  The Unionist groups have made it clear that the NORTHERN IRELAND PROTOCOL has to go also the role of the European Court of Justice, it is seen as bias in favour of the EU.  The UK should have talks with the EU when they bring out their new ideas for the PROTOCOL, if Brussels cant or wont listen then the UK has to invoke ARTICLE 16 and suspend parts of the protocol.   The Irish Government has been fighting the EU side of late, it should learn to keep quiet, what if the EU demands that they place border checks on the border, will they so NO or YES, sometimes it is better to be quiet and then no one will notice you.  The PM has had a good day, also he is on holiday.

BBC News: Reports on a speech by Lord Frost when it comes to the Northern Ireland Protocol, Lord Frost stated the following, " "It is this Government, the UK Government, that governs Northern Ireland as it does the rest of the UK," said Lord Frost..."Northern Ireland is not EU territory. It is our responsibility to safeguard peace and prosperity and that may include using Article 16 if necessary.  "

The speech was strong, it showed that the Conservative Government will take the HARD decisions if needed to protect the Good Friday Agreement, the Unionist groups have made it clear that the Northern Ireland Protocol has to go or they will leave the Government of Northern Ireland, that could lead to early elections and cause major problems for the Unionist side and the UK Government, polls suggest the Nationalist could have more seats in the North Ireland Assembly, thus calls for a unification vote.  This would be a disaster for the Unionist and for the British Government, so the OLD Northern Ireland Protocol has go, the UK has to be VERY firm on this, it is about the UK saying to the EU, take it or leave it, also the ECJ has to be removed, it is a EU institution  thus bias in favour of the EU.  The EU will come out with new ideas tomorrow, let's hope they understand, this could be their last chance, give or the UK will invoke Article 16 and revoke parts that are causing damage to the Province. 

Republic of Ireland Foreign Minister CRITICAL of UK over Northern Ireland Protocol - After Brexit

BBC News: Reports " Ireland's foreign minister has accused the UK of repeatedly dismissing EU proposals on the Northern Ireland Protocol before they are published. "

One does WONDER why the  Republic of Ireland does not get the FACT that most of its TRADE is with the UK, and it would be better to stay neutral, does it really want a political fight with the UK, does it want to take orders from Brussels, what if Brussels demands that Ireland places border checks on the border between the Northern Ireland and Ireland, of course they would be stuck behind the 8 ball, they would and could not do that without breaking the Good Friday Agreement, that ended the troubles in the province, thus it would be better for Dublin to stay very quiet and make sure that the EU gives, the UK wants the ECJ out of the process, it is that simple, and much better for the relationship between the Belfast and Dublin.  PM Johnson should stay firm and strong on this issue. 

UK PM ready for fight with Parliament, Justice system over Article 16 - After Brexit

Mail on Sunday: Reports " The Government is bracing for a fresh Brexit clash with Parliament and the courts as ministers tell the EU it must agree to make major changes to Northern Ireland's border rules.  "

Lets Get Real:

IF the PM invokes Article 16, then the noise in opposition will come from the House of Lords, its full of REMAINERS, who have never gotten over the fact that the UK has voted to leave the EU and wants a limited relationship with that body.   As the House of Commons can over rule the House of Lords that should not be a problem, there a few REMAINERS still in the Commons but not as much after the PM did a political cull before the 2019 General Election.  Also even some young MPs know that going against the PM on this will surly rule them out for future jobs in the Cabinet even the top job itself.   The Courts are another problem, the House of Commons has to be FIRM with them, the House of Commons decides the LAW, it is up to the Courts to interoperate them, in the old days the King or Queen could just put irritant people in the Tower of London, but we are modern, no cushy seats in the House of Lords if they pull a stunt in favour of the EU.  Politics is a tough business, sometimes you have to show the power.
