On the Ground in Syria - Syrian Crisis

Lets Get Real:

The Russian action is showing success on the ground, but how far will Russia go, the Assad regime now has the ground support from Iran and Iraq, while the Russians do the bombing, but will Moscow dare place Russians on the ground, after the failure in Afghanistan by the USSR and the long war in Iraq by the US the Kremlin should be careful, the Russian people have seen what happens when the Russia places troops outside its orbit, one can argue that the Crimea and East Ukraine is seen as part of Greater Russia, while Syria is more like Afghanistan, groups that have hated each other for centuries and will fight no matter who is on their side, while Syria is important to Russia, its not like the above, so how long will Russians bomb, how long before they need to send in ground troops, these questions should be on the mind of Moscow.

The New Russian Plan for Syria - DOA

Lets Get Real:

The problem with the Russian bear is that it likes its honey, yes that is Russian base in Syria, its only warm water port, and it will not give up that for love or money.   The Assad issue is a different problem, one can see the Russians allowing for a new leader as long as it comes from the Assad Branch of the family, one with no to much blood on his hands.   The opposition, the West and its moderate supported Syrian wing do not want to get caught in a Russian plan that allows the Assad either the President or his supporters from taking over, while that is a problem you have Daesh that is a threat to everyone in the region.   In many respects the Syrian problem is the major issue of the Middle East, you have millions of refugees flooding the area and now they are moving to Europe.   It will take Western armed forces to solve Syria, it will not happen under the Obama Administration, thus poor Syria will suffer for a  few years.

Gordon Brown on Jeremy Corbyn - Corbyn Mania

Lets Get Real:

Thus the former PM speaks, the problem is that one of the main problems of Labour in power was the feud between Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, one wanted the others job, while Blair wanted a New Labour Legacy.  As a Conservative blog even this blogger can see how much Brown/Blair could have achieved if they had worked together.   But what they did was to have the usual old Labour feuds updated.   The Labour Party can only be Government in waiting if it recovers some of its Scottish Seats, the question is does Scottish Labour want to be seen as a arm of the main Party, they have come out against Trident, while the majority of Labour MPs support the UK having nuclear missiles.   Thus there are internal breaches that have to be fixed before 2020.
