Guardian: Reports " Syrian opposition leaders have flatly dismissed Russian proposals for ending the country’s crisis by launching a constitutional reform process and holding new presidential elections in Damascus, it has emerged before a new round of international peace talks. "
Lets Get Real:
The problem with the Russian bear is that it likes its honey, yes that is Russian base in Syria, its only warm water port, and it will not give up that for love or money. The Assad issue is a different problem, one can see the Russians allowing for a new leader as long as it comes from the Assad Branch of the family, one with no to much blood on his hands. The opposition, the West and its moderate supported Syrian wing do not want to get caught in a Russian plan that allows the Assad either the President or his supporters from taking over, while that is a problem you have Daesh that is a threat to everyone in the region. In many respects the Syrian problem is the major issue of the Middle East, you have millions of refugees flooding the area and now they are moving to Europe. It will take Western armed forces to solve Syria, it will not happen under the Obama Administration, thus poor Syria will suffer for a few years.
