When tyrants are in trouble on the domestic front such as the domestic economy and the WAR in the Ukraine they strike out to cause a diversion, Putin could hit the Baltic States or other NATO members as to rally the people.  There are reports that Putin is being feed FALSE information by his defence department, who will tell the Emperor he has no clothes, those that do have been killed. This will make China happy as long as their tankers can get through the blockade at some point.  Trump's view of World Politics is the strong powers agree on a issue and the rest of the World follow suit, that has not worked out in the Ukraine, that is why President Trump is peeved with Zelensky of the Ukraine, as he infamously said that the Ukraine has no cards in its war.  In many respects Trump is from the Imperial Era, the age of Gunboat Diplomacy, were might is right.

As the article notes this could bring in China and Russia, a combustible situation.  Trump is off to China in the next few weeks, how China going to react if its ships are impeded, the same goes for Russia, what will Putin ( Trump's best friend ) think seeing its tankers boarded.  Interesting hours and days ahead.

This move shafts the Ukraine, the point of Western sanctions on Russia was starve them of money to support the War in the Ukraine, does any one see Trump putting them back on.  If the Strait of Hormuz is blocked and gas prices go up in the US and the West in general, Trump will ease the sanctions more, as Sir Keir Starmer is out in the COLD when it comes to POTUS, his influence will not be much, as the Ukraine will complain to the Coalition of the willing that sanctions are being undermined by the US.   The ramifications of the Iran war could have negative effects on the War in the Ukraine, Trump is a pawn of Putin, the Russian leader will be happy.

This is about time, its embarrassing being British with our lack action at sea.  The RAF has done an excellent job defending our Gulf Allies.  The aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, it seems won't be going to the Middle East, Greenland is seen as being under threat from the Americans and Russia.  Sir Keir Starmer has let the UK down, the special relationship between the UK and the US is in threads due to the need of keeping Sir Keir conscious in the clear! UAE Talks End - Update

Sky News: Reports in its 12.48pm post that the talks between Ukraine, Russia and the US have finished in UAE.

Thus we await the details of the talks, did any one flinch, did any of the sides give concessions, the Ukraine on the Donbas, the same with Russia, and what did the US say at the talks.  Sky News reports the UAE has stated the talks were constructive and the sides talked to each other.  President Zelensky has stated there will be further talks.  This has been done not to upset the Trump Oval.

UK stupid to give Chagos Island back - Update

BBC News: Reports in its 6.56am post that President Trump has stated that the UK with great stupidity has given the Chagos Islands back.

Lets Get Real:

This is still about Greenland, he wants Greenland because of its Strategic importance, since the ice is melting, granting a North Western acces to Russia and China.  It is really about him wanting to expand the US and to be seen as a powerful President.  POTUS does not care if he trashes long and old alliances.

The above only happens if Putin agrees to the new deal, there are doubts thar Kremlin will go along with the Deal, Russia is gradually gaining in the Donbas, and the Kremlin does not want NATO Troops in the Ukraine.  Thus deal might never happen, but Starmer has kept on the good side of Trump, always a good idea when comes to erratic Trump.

Venezuela tanken seized by the US - Update

Thus the Trump Oval has seized the President of Venezuela in a daring military operation at night and has stated that Trump knows run Venezuela.  The old regime has been left in place, Trump has learned the lessons of Iraq.   The Russians won't be happy, the tanker had changed its name and changed its flag to Russian.  There were reports that it was being escorted by a Russian Navy ship and sub! NATO German Jets fly to counter Russian Jets over the Baltic Sea - Ukraine - Russian War

Guardian  Reports that NATO German fighters were launched to counter a Russian plane over the Baltic Sea.

The new Axis of Evil that meet in China on the anniversary of the end of the WAR is Asia in 1945, it shows that the West is faced with Russia, China and North Korea as the counter to Western Democracy.  Trump has to get his head out of his backside and do something about Russia, they will not give up in till the US puts more weapons and men if needed on the front line in the Ukraine.  The Russians see Trump as a lap dog to Putin, the only way out for Putin is to win in the Ukraine, anything else and he faces a coup in Russia.  Thus Russians will only come to the peace table on their terms, a Ukraine that in many respects sees it back within the Russian fold, thus to prevent WW3, Europe must give security guarantees  to Ukraine, and in some way the US must face pressure to do the same.

Thus President Zelensky is going to meet POTUS on Monday in D.C, the European Allies want to make sure that Zelensky knows that the UK will stand by Ukraine with others if there is a good ceasefire.   The problem is you never know what Trump might turn up, the appeaser or someone ready to place harsh secondary sanctions on Russia.

Putin makes more demands after he has agreed to a deal, it is an old Russian tactic.  The Russians had agreed a deal with the US over a ceasefire in the Black Sea, but after the White House released information on the deal, there came demands for sanctions to be released.   Sir Keir is calling fore more tougher sanctions, on this the Labour PM is right, its the rest of Europe that worries this blog, will they want to appease Russia, time will tell, a new security dawn has developed, the US under Trump is no longer the security guarantee it was, times change and show must our perceptions.
