This is about time, its embarrassing being British with our lack action at sea.  The RAF has done an excellent job defending our Gulf Allies.  The aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, it seems won't be going to the Middle East, Greenland is seen as being under threat from the Americans and Russia.  Sir Keir Starmer has let the UK down, the special relationship between the UK and the US is in threads due to the need of keeping Sir Keir conscious in the clear! The man is in wrong job. Let's hope he does not  need the US when it comes to the Ukraine, this blog can guess the reaction, it won't be good.

Trump Advices Congress on Iran - Update

One does wonder  why Trump has done this, is it theatre for the State of the Union, why bother if he is going to WIMP out and take a 2nd hand deal from Iran.   Is the Oval really going to do something this time, over Greenland he has wimped OUT and had to retract his comments on UK troops in Afghanistan during the WAR, he changed his policy over ICE,  when he is faced by stiff opposition he backtracks, he is frustrated that Iran has not caved, he wants something from the Geneva talks on Thursday, Tehran will play him, they are good at that, so what will POTUS do about Iran's nuclear stockpile and chemical weapons?  Time will tell.

New Geopolitics - Secretary Rubio

BBC News: Reports that Europe must face new geopolitics as the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio arrives for the Munich security conference.

Let's Get Real:

This is down President Trump and his America First policy, thus his demands that Europe spend at least 5% of its GDP on Defence and that Denmark give Greenland to the US.  The Oval has backdown on that demand for a while.   The US expects Europe to fund Ukraine in its war with Russia.  It can be stated that the Trump Oval is more supportive of Russia than of the Ukraine and NATO.   The UK needs to back the Ukraine through Europe, otherwise we could have WW3 in Europe should Ukraine lose to Russia, but the NATO Allies need the US for security guarantees for the Ukraine if they must give up the Donbas, in East Ukraine.

Greenland - Update

BBC News: Reports in its 2.08pm post that President Trump at DAVOS has stated he will start negotiations to buy Greenland, but won't use force.

Lets Get Real:

POTUS has stated that NATO has given nothing to the US, so he wants Greenland to secure the Golden Iron dome for US security.  Did you notice Trump slipped up and said Iceland instead of Greenland, if this was Biden, it would be the whole story!  Also article 5 of NATO was invoked after 9/11, the only time it has been invoked.  LET'S hope the NATO Secretary General has plan to get Trump off this dangerous plan.

Update: BOTH BBC News and Sky News report that POTUS has dropped his tariff threat,  and done a deal with the NATO Secretary General.  Back to Ukraine tomorrow, Zelensky will meet Trump, Real serious issues.

What about the Ukraine ? - Update

Sky News: Reports in its 8.28am post that one of the casualties of the Greenland row is an Economic package for the Ukraine, that was meant to be signed at DAVOS this week.

The row over Greenland has meant no economic package for the Ukraine, YES the war is on going, Ukraine is being Droned every night, its Cold in Winter, Putin must be pleased at the state of disarray in the Western Alliance, it is reported the US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is off to Moscow for a meeting, what Putin have in mind! Sad day for NATO and the Ukraine.

Any military action to take Greenland would mean the END OF NATO, also he could be impeached after November Mid Terms by the Democrats, and Republicans could turn on Trump and prefer VP Vance in the OVAL for the 2028 Presidential Election, if Democrats had done that in 1998, we could have had President Gore, history might have been very different! 

Governor Newsom attacks Europe for its Appeasement of President Trump - Update

Sky News: Reports in its 10.48am post that California Governor Gavin Newsom has attacked Europe for not having a backbone to take on Trump.

Newsom is a Democrat and sees himself as a candidate for the Democratic Nominee for President in 2028.  This blog does not rate him, to Liberal for the Fly Over States, in his own mind, he is a candidate, one can expect, AOC, Governor Shapiro, Former VP Harris, and Senator Booker from California, none so far will get the support of this blog, they have to take on the base, none have so far.  Of course it could be somebody NEW, that would make a  change.

This is still about Greenland, he wants Greenland because of its Strategic importance, since the ice is melting, granting a North Western acces to Russia and China.  It is really about him wanting to expand the US and to be seen as a powerful President.  POTUS does not care if he trashes long and old alliances.

Trump " No Comment " on taking Greenland by Force - Update

This will not go down well in Europe, Sky News does report in its 4.50pm post that Trump has admitted he might have gotten faulty information on why Europe was sending troops to Greenland.  POTUS if he has not gone mad should take this and back peddle back, he does not want to start a TRAD WAR with Europe, he might lose, let's recall there are the Mid Terms in a few months time, Trump cannot afford this kind of mess and there is the Ukraine to deal with first, it has not been in the news for the last few days, but the Russians are still droning Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine. 

Sir Keir Starmer is CRITICAL of Trump over Greenland - Update

At least Starmer has come off the fence when it comes POTUS, he has tried to keep Trump sweet, and has got nothing for it, he did not threaten tariffs back, that was wise, we have to defend the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenland from Trump.  If you live LONG enough to see everything, this blog's defence of Europe, Brexit seems a long time ago, all this is because the Donald did not get the Novel Peace Prize, he got a State Visit in the UK what more does does he want,  a honouree Knighthood that Presidents Eisenhower and  Reagan got, for been a firm friend of the UK.  This far the State Visit by the King to the US should be called off, not a wise move considering Greenland.

So this is down to the Donald not getting the Nobel Peace Prize, POTUS is the last person who should get this prize, the Nobel Committee makes mistakes, it gave it to President Gorbachev but not to Reagan, on other hand they gave it Henry Kissinger, without Nixon, let's be fair they were a double act.  So the Donald does not think International law is a concerned to him or the role of Allies.   The US Cabinet and the US Congress should think about invoking the 25th Amendment, to replace Trump, he has lost the plot, his wanting Greenland could be a threat to NATO, one is sure VP Vance would not mind replacing a crazy President.  What about the Ukraine, they need a stable POTUS, and World Security is at stake.

Trump places 10% Tariff on UK due to its Greenland policy - Update

POTUS has lost his mind, he is attacking Allies and more specific NATO Allies.  ONE does hope that the US Congress will ACT, they must oppose such a daft and dangerous idea, they do have the power to curtail Trump. The Kŕemlin will be overjoyed, they want to see the destruction of NATO.

Trump will take this as a WIN, what he does not understand, the Regime is just waiting for the press attention to move away, the poor prisoners are still on Death Row, they might face torture and sexual abuse before being released on hanged as the likely outcome.   One can see Trump stating that he has WON, while the poor protesters are jailed and those that have been injured in the protesting are to afraid to seek medical help.  If this is Trump's credibility, not that he has much anyway, he has blow it, no one will feel under threat from him NOW, give him the appearance of winning and he will be happy, poor Ukraine, the people of Greenland will be a lot happier, Trump is  a blowhard and a WIMP.

Trump threats on Countries that do not support the US taking over Greenland - Update

This is a daft idea, even by Trump's standards, NATO would fall apart if he annexed Greenland, as he would have to place Tariffs on the whole of Europe.  Trump is a wimp, as shown by Iran policy.  Even Trump would not destroy NATO, if he did,  the US Congress would impeach him, and the Senate could force him out! Does he want to be another Nixon, one has doubts!  The Oval is turning in to blowhard of ideas that are not meet by reality.

The Clintons are holy to the Democrats, will House Democrats really vote to find Bill and Hillary in Contempt of Congress.   This blog is not holding its breath.   CNN has been called the Clinton News Network in the past, it will be interesting to see if they run with story, also the Liberal New York Times.   With Trump wimping out on Iran, one can expect politics to return to normal, what happened to those Epstein files that Department of Justice had  by law to release.  Trump won't invade Greenland, he is not that crazy surly!!

 

UK and French Forces to be sent to Ukraine if Peace Deal Agreed - Update

This agreement by the coalition of willing, is based on Russia agreeing to DEAL.  This blog is not holding its breath for that outcome, this agreement will annoy Putin, and give him the chance to go covert operation on OUR troops should they go to Ukraine.   If Putin agrees then expect trouble and casualties, Russia would like to hurt NATO, see how much casualties that France and the UK can take.  It could turn in to a disaster, thus we need the US as a backstop, the cost could be Greenland.

All Options on the Table whem it comes to Greenland-'Update

CNN: Reports the White House has stated that ALL options are on the Table when it comes to Greenland, including military.

Lets Get Real:

The Trump Oval would be out of it's mind to invade Greenland, its part of Denmark, a NATO member.  This blog is assuming that Trump is winding up Europe, the UK and others have stated support of Denmark, does Trump want to smash NATO, that would make Putin very happy.  Europe needs the US for security guarantees for Ukraine, perhaps Trump thinks that Europe will trade the Greenland for Ukraine, its a very risky move by the Trump Oval.   Ronald Reagan is turning in his grave, what has the US become under Trump, a colonial power?

US to Support Multinational Force in the Ukraine- Update

Lets Get Real:

The PRICE of the above could be Greeland, let's hope not!  The US is the sole Super power left, as Venezuela has shown.   The Trump Oval has a few Countries on its hit list, Colombia, Cuba, Iran, who is next?  The Trump Oval has learned that in foreign affairs the Oval Office has a free hand, in a 2nd term, the Democrats could take the House in the Mid Terms this year.   Thus Trump should use the time before that to make his moves, the Democrats will want to impeachment him again!

France seeks to firm and secure Security Guarantees for the Ukraine - Update

BBC News: Reports that the French President is holding a meeting of the coalition of the willing to set firm and secure Security Guarantees for the Ukraine.

Lets Get Real:

The coalition of the willing want the US as a backstop to any security guarantees, thus Venezuela causes a problem and Trump going on about Greenland does not help matters.  Any invasion of Greenland would mean the END of NATO and bring pleasure to Putin of Russia, thus Sir Keir Starmer should get on a plane and visit Trump, to see how serious he is about the idea, and to warn him of if it is a REAL THREAT.

NSA to leave the White House - Trump47

BBC News: Reports in its 4.02pm post that Mike Waltz is to leave his post as National Security Advisor.

Lets Get Real:

This is the price of failure in the Trump White House, no success in the Ukraine War, Gaza, no chance of taking over the Panama Canal, the same with Greenland.  Trump wanted a success on his 100th day in OFFICE, and didn't have one.

UPDATE: Waltz has been nominated to be the US Ambassador to the UN.  MORE a sideways move, keeps him in the camp, just needs Senate Approval.  After Signal scandal could be a problem!
