So this is down to the Donald not getting the Nobel Peace Prize, POTUS is the last person who should get this prize, the Nobel Committee makes mistakes, it gave it to President Gorbachev but not to Reagan, on other hand they gave it Henry Kissinger, without Nixon, let's be fair they were a double act.  So the Donald does not think International law is a concerned to him or the role of Allies.   The US Cabinet and the US Congress should think about invoking the 25th Amendment, to replace Trump, he has lost the plot, his wanting Greenland could be a threat to NATO, one is sure VP Vance would not mind replacing a crazy President.  What about the Ukraine, they need a stable POTUS, and World Security is at stake.

Israel and the US want to keep Iran out of the Israeli - Gaza War, also they want to make sure that Iran does not allow its allies in the Middle East to start attacks should Israel go in for a tough land invasion of Gaza.  The thought of Biden dealing with the Ukraine War and major regional war in the Middle East would age POTUS and bring him a critical reaction from the left wing of the Party.   On the other hand Israel cannot allow itself to be told by the US if and when it goes in to Gaza, let's recall that October 7th was their 9/11, fifty years after the last major war in 1973.  One does think that Karma is putting Biden behind the 8 ball, think of all mistakes he has done in the past when it comes to foreign policy, on doubts that Biden thinks that, look at his mistakes with Afghanistan.  It is matter of waiting for the ISRAELI Government to decided when is the best time for an invasion to take out Hamas.

Russia must be the most sanctioned nation on EARTH, but the economy is still going and has returned some stability after the first sanctions.  One can assume that China has been supporting Russia by the back door, NOW it seems that they will give arms and ammo to MOSCOW, the US and the WEST has to place pressure on China, the WAR in the Ukraine could go global by accident.  The Western economy would never recover if there is a WAR between China and the US and its Western Allies, thus some kind of pressure must be placed on the Chinese leadership, they have to be warned, that any military assistance to Moscow would cause a frosty war between the US and the West, also any threats to TAIWAN could lead to a conflict between the US and China.  Why not send  Henry Kissinger out there, he might be able to talk to China, he did start the thaw in relationship with China during the Nixon Presidency.  It only needs an accident, for the WAR in the Ukraine to go WORLD WIDE.

When the left wing Guardian takes pity on you then you know you are in trouble, it can be stated that Tillerson was the worse Secretary of State EVER, he served the shortest period.  It would be fair to say that Tillerson was no Henry Kissinger, NSA and Secretary of State to Richard Nixon and President Ford.   The US Secretary of State should have the ear of the President, whatever a Secretary State might think of his boss he should keep it to himself, calling him a moron is not great politics or diplomacy.   Tillerson was so out of touch that the Trump Oval did not tell him that Trump had agreed to meet with the Leader of North Korea.   Let's see how the next Secretary behaves, he was the head of the CIA, and must have learned NEVER to be out of Office while the Donald is on Twitter.

The US President and the US Secretary of State are not speaking from the same page, either this is a thought out policy, the Mad Man Theory of Nixon and Kissinger or the Oval and State Department are running two different policy shops.  This must be confusing for North Korea and the rest of the World, why is Trump Oval allowing the Secretary of State to have talks with North Korea if the Oval things they will not go anywhere, for a businessman Trump does not seem interested in the details, the US Trump National Security Council should at least be behind the issue, the North Korean Crisis seems to have cooled, the question is will it get hot again or has NK learned that without China's support it has to back down.

One has noticed that since the Trump White House finally go its Cabinet picks through in the national security area the Trump White House is making less mistakes, the travel ban is another story.   It can be suggested that President Nixon is smiling from above that his policy is being carried through by another successor, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger must also be happy that his and Nixon's policy so far is safe.   One can presume that North Korea was a major part of the talk between the new President and China, the threat of North Korea growing, one would not be surprised to see some kind of crisis develop.   The Regime is being more brutal than usual, it might feel under threat from within, thus a way to divert the people and the Communist Party to create a real crisis between North Korea and the US.

The World has not gone mad then, one could have only imagine what Nixon and Reagan would have said if their Secretaries of State had supported HRC, on the other hand Nixon had a good opinion of Bill Clinton.    As the above states no one thought that these two veterans of D.C would back Trump, it can be argued that Trump runs counter to to the pillars of Republican national security.    The Trump is not supportive of NATO and wants a better relationship with Putin in Russia.    The HRC campaign team has to work hard, it can not afford to think that the election is over, its is far from over, the nightmare would people having to say its President Trump coming to the screen near you.

As stated the Oval Office and Downing Street will be looking for calm, the last thing that the Middle East needs right now is a war between Iran and Saudi Arabia, this it might need the US Secretary of State, John Kerry to visit both States and calm their nerves and get them to keep only shouting at each other, if Kerry can not do it, what about for former US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, might well think of all the choices, with Syria in fire the World does not need another Crisis point.    The only winners are Daesh in Syria and Iraq should there be a regional war.

Lets Get Real:

The powers through back channels need to have talks off the radar, the Russians and Iran must see that their interests are taken care off, while the West and its allies must keep to their stated policy that Assad must go, therefore the Russians and Iran and the West need to select a candidate that they can live with, its far from a perfect solution but it seems the only solution.  One gets the impression one is writing a script for the series Homeland at the moment when one writes about Syria.  There needs to be stability in Syria, so those refugees can go home and take the pressure off, Lebanon, Jordan and other allies in the region.  The last thing that the US needs is for a close ally in the shape of Jordan to come under Daesh attack or for Baghdad to fall to Daesh.   Thus the diplomatic talks needs to reach a successful end, even in secret agreements, where is Henry Kissinger when you need him. 

US and Iran, Is the Nuclear deal falling apart - Iran Crisis

Lets Get Real:

This is NOT the deal the Oval Office has been selling to the US Congress and people, in the eyes of the Oval Office the Western sanctions will only be lifted if Iran follows the deal, that the IAEA will have access to ALL AREAS they want to check for nuclear material.   The Tehran Regime is playing games, they have the Obama weakness, he want to appease, no matter the cost to the US or its allies in the Middle East.   IF any deal is signed the Tehran Government will cheat, there are reports that President Obama wants to visit Iran, aka Nixon going to China.   There are differences, the Nixon visit was in the context of the Cold War, the Nixon White House wanted to move China from Soviet support to a better relationship with the US, also it needed China's support for getting the US out of Southern Vietnam and get a peace deal with North Vietnam.   President Obama is no Nixon or Kissinger that is for sure, even on his best day, the Obama ego is just to high to see that other people might have better arguments and opinions.   The Republicans will use this Tehran statement to kill the nuclear deal in the US Congress. 

The US and Egypt - 2nd Term Blues

Lets Get Real:

One has to wonder what the Kerry State Department and Oval was thinking, did you really expect a warm welcome from the Muslim Brotherhood, the Oval went on the golf course while Morsi was being overthrown, the Oval has no interest in seeing Morsi back in power, the Muslim Brotherhood was a threat to Egypt and Israel in the long term.   The Morsi Government was removing the democracy that got them elected, it can be argued that they would have revoked the Peace Deal with Israel in the long term as to keep support of the Arab street.  Also Morsi was getting in to bed with Iran, that is no go area even for this Oval. What was surprising was the real politic of the Obama Oval, Kissinger could not have done a better job at the height of his power, the one exception being that Kissinger knew his subject and care how the US was seen in the Middle East.    While the Obama Oval has kept his nose out of the Middle East, he lead from behind when it came to Libya, and allowed the UK and France to lead.   The Obama Oval sees US interest in the Pacific, the problem is folks that a Middle East Crisis out of control, with no US role can cut off OIL, the West is still in the wake of the banking collapse of 2008, it can not afford a major hit.  Thus folks keep a close eye on the Egypt and Iran, they could be major flash points over the next few months. 

Mr Kerry's Failure - Middle East Crisis Points

Lets Get Real:

This is a dig at Secretary Kerry folks, there you have Syria in a state of Civil War, this is causing unrest in Jordan and Lebanon and Iraq,  Western interests are under threat, in Egypt you have a Army Coup in the works with the support of the people of Egypt, the winners could even be more of a threat that the Muslim Brotherhood, then you have Iran on the way to the bomb within  a few months, and what is Secretary Kerry doing,  he is is Kissinger mode,  trying to solve a problem that will never be solved, any solution would be a threat to Israel, thus a pointless.   The US Secretary of State should be in Egypt, trying to get a deal between the Government and the people, he should be trying to create a united non terrorist opposition in Syria, the reason that the US Secretary of State is not doing the above is the weakness of the Oval, Obama does not want to get to much involved in Syria, it took the Assad using chemical weapons for him to get off the fence, in Egypt there is the worry that a new Government could be worse than the Muslim Brotherhood,  at the end of the day leadership is taking the lead, Obama is weak and thus is US Foreign Policy as represented by Secretary Kerry. 

Benghazi/Rice and POTUS - 2nd Term MISTAKE

The New York Times: Reports the following on the appointment of Ambassador Rice as the next Obama National Security Advisor, " It is also a defiant gesture to Republicans who harshly criticized Ms. Rice for presenting an erroneous account of the deadly attacks on the American mission in Benghazi,.. ".

Lets Get Real:

This is an insult to the Republican in the House who are searching for the truth of the Benghazi terror attack, well the Republicans have to take the gloves off, get the new NSA before a Congressional Committee, ask her who she saw at the White House before going on the Sunday talk shows, force the Oval to refuse the attendance of Rice before Congress, then the Hill and the World will will know that that it was the Oval behind the lie to the the US voters during an election year and to the World.   This Administration has shown a arrogance of power from the start, they think the rules do not apply to them, well if the Chicago political mob want to play by those rules, lets see how they like being under the hot seat of a Hill Committee run by the Republicans.    This is a massive mistake by the Oval, it shows a President caught up his own bubble, nearly ALL will think this  is political payback, its one of the worse decisions since Lt. Colonel North was bough in to the White House, also what will Secretary Kerry think, he will be worried that the Oval will now start to sideline the State Department, very much like Nixon and Kissinger did in the Nixon Administration of the early 1970s, and Obama and Rice are no Nixon and Kissinger, even on their good days.  The arrogance of power folks.

If UN Ambassador Rice goes from the UN to be Obama's new National Security Advisor the job of Secretary of State could be all title no horses to use a Texan phrase, as the article notes on the relationship between Hillary Clinton and POTUS, " Conventional thinking in Washington has it that Clinton has never been close to Obama and has tended to be excluded from decision-making on major issues.. ".   Thus the future Secretary Kerry might find as previous US Secretary of States have found that the real foreign policy is done out of the White House, as reported Ambassador Rice is a strong character, so one can expect some tension between the Oval and State, will Rice be the new Kissinger, while Kerry gets the press attention the real news story will be the White House.  ALL 2nd term Presidents sooner or later, and it is sooner in most cases find they are a political dodo on the Hill, at least on foreign policy POTUS has more freedom, thus the article in the NYT that Iran has agreed to one to one talks with the US, one can see Obama thinking he is the new Nixon, that he can open up Iran  for talks, as Nixon did with China and the USSR.  Good luck with that Mr President, Israel might think it has nothing to lose and attack Iran if it thinks that Obama is going to do a JFK and sell them out as Kennedy did with Turkey over the Cuban Missile Crisis.   Thus over the next few years foreign policy will become more central to the Oval, it always does folks.

The two leaders discussed ways to de-escalate the situation in Gaza, and President Obama underscored the necessity of Hamas ending rocket fire into Israel. President Obama also offered condolences for the terrible loss of life in the recent train accident in Egypt. President Obama then called Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel, and received an update on the situation in Gaza and Israel. In both calls, President Obama expressed regret for the loss of Israeli and Palestinian civilian lives, and agreed to stay in close touch with both leaders. ".

Lets Get Real: 

It shows how powerless the US is with Obama in the Oval, in many ways the Oval is a bystander, in the old days the US Secretary of State would have been on the plane, trying to calm matters, now the Oval is under attack from two fronts, the Republicans think that the Oval did a spin job on the Libyan terrorists attack, and the US is facing a financial cliff, thus in essence the Oval is impotent, Israel does not trust the Oval, with reason, while the Muslim Brotherhood is in charge in Egypt.  They have to play to the Arab Street.   The Days of Empire have gone folks.

Folks Afghanistan is going to hell in hand basket, its getting worse, at a secure base and the US Defence Secretary becomes a target, this level of violence does recall Vietnam. The best and the brightest of various US Administrations failed with Vietnam, who is to say modern politicians will have better luck in Afghanistan, it would be a first folks.

Nixon’s Oval - US and Israel (Offensive Comments )

Also Mr Kissinger as NSA and Secretary of State with President Nixon had broad plans for US security, thus the opening of China, better relationship with the USSR, end of the Vietnam War, Israel a close US ally would have never been allowed to fall but that didn’t stop the pressure from the Jewish Lobby in the US, even Carter and Reagan asked about their power. Thus unfortunate comments from Mr Kissinger but in the context of the pressures of the period one can understand the outburst and the its background.
