What the Russians Did in 2016 - Director of National Intelligence

DNI: The US Director of Intelligence states the following on Russian actions in 2016, " Russian efforts to influence the 2016 US presidential election represent the most recent expression of Moscow’s longstanding desire to undermine the US-led liberal democratic order, but these activities demonstrated a significant escalation in directness, level of activity, and scope of effort compared to previous operations...We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election. Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump. We have high confidence in these judgments.....1)We also assess Putin and the Russian Government aspired to help President-elect Trump’selection chances when possible by discrediting Secretary Clinton and publicly contrasting her unfavorably to him. All three agencies agree with this judgment. CIA and FBI have high confidence in this judgment; NSA has moderate confidence...2)Moscow’s approach evolved over the course of the campaign based on Russia’s understanding of the electoral prospects of the two main candidates. When it appeared to Moscow that Secretary Clinton was likely to win the election, the Russian influence campaign began to focus more on undermining her future presidency.....3)Further information has come to light since Election Day that, when combined with Russian behavior since early November 2016, increases our confidence in our assessments of Russian motivations and goals...."

Lets Get Real:

The Conservative hawks and angry liberals will be united in the view that Russia helped in the defeat of HRC.   On the Trump side he can point to the report that states early on thatWe did not make an assessment of the impact that Russian activities had on the outcome of the 2016 election. The US Intelligence Community is charged with monitoring and assessing the intentions, capabilities, and actions of foreign actors; it does not analyze US political processes or US public opinion. "  In essence both the Intelligence networks and Trump could be right, the Russians hacked, but the outcome was not down to them, it was down to the private server of HRC.

The Mexican Wall - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

This blog would argue that the US voter will not care who pays for the bloody Wall as long as a Wall is built, then the US can have real immigration reform and the granting of amnesty to those US illegally, all rights, but with the exception of voting, they did come through the back door.   Also the Trump Administration could tax US companies that have moved business to Mexico as a way to pay for the Wall, one has seen of late a lot of companies deciding to stay in THE US rather than pay any tax for goods being bought from Mexico for sale in the US.

Following the Hacking Thread - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

President - Elect Trump needs to accept the findings of the US Intelligence network and get on with his agenda, the only reason this story is on going is that the liberal media elite want to blame the 2016 Democratic loss on Russia and not HRC.   If Trump comes out guns blazing and says he will make Russia suffer he can become the hero of his own story.   On the other hand if he keeps questioning the Russian hacking the Democrats and Republicans might ask WHY, what is he hiding, is there a there there somewhere.   As stated by others the Trump company has many holdings in Russia, is the lack of interest by Trump on Russian hacking a concern about his holdings, it will be a fair question if Trump does not change his mind.

The Russians and the Trump Win - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

Of course the Russians were happy, the softer candidate in their view had won, also it was not expected to happen, ALL the polls and commentary suggested that HRC was going to win 2016.   The very fact that Trump won shows that the Russian effect was not that great, the failure for HRC was HRC herself and her own private server.  Also let us not forget that HRC was a bad candidate, she lost in 2008 to Obama and now its Trump.   This blog can understand why Trump does not want to see Russian action as part of his victory, he sees it and is correct that the Democrats want to rewrite history, that goes even more for Obama, his White House and Administration.   The elite media are being feed by the liberal elite in D.C, they failed in 2016 and want to place the blame on the Russians.

The Clinton Emails - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

IF Hillary Clinton ever does a new memoir she might call her new one, How I blew it twice!, HRC had the Presidency for the taking in 2008 and 2016, and she lost both times, in the first one she lost to President Obama, a star of of his generation, but then we come to Trump, the legacy of Obama is Donald Trump, the fact that HRC could not beat him shows how she is not Bill Clinton, can you see the old hound dog losing to Trump, this blog can not, but after a heart operation no one is the same, look at Dick Cheney.   In the future lets hope HRC does a new memoir and is honest with herself, that might be asking a lot of the Clintons, but it would be good for history.

Russian Hacking - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

President - Elect Trump has to get ahead of this story, he has to accept that Putin ordered the Russian hack and that it be leaked to help Donald Trump against Hillary Clinton.   The President - Elect should demand more sanctions, make the Russians sorry they even thought of the idea, close down the I.T in Moscow, release some dirt on Putin, even if its is fake news.   Trump should not annoy the Intelligence networks, they have long memories and can leak against him during his four to eight year term.   Trump has to move from campaign mode to government, otherwise the Democrats will never let the issue go over the term.
