Split in New Labour over Afghanistan

Telegraph: Reports on the appearance of a split in New Labour over the Governments policy in Afghanistan, Kim Howells a former Minister in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has stated that there is no support in the UK for a long term commitment to Afghanistan. That is the problem when you have a weak PM, Gordon Brown in his day would not have tolerated that kind of statement from his own Party, but Mr Brown is weak, without the Dark Prince Lord Mandelson he would be have out on his ear months ago, he cant really counter the critics from his own backbench or from the MOD. The UK voter has to accept we ran out of Iraq, we cant leave Afghanistan, if we run out of Afghanistan we might as well remove the Great from Great Britain, its that simple and harsh. Thus there will be more deaths, as stated we are going to increase troops by another 2,000 thus there will be more body bags. Afghanistan is our Vietnam in less someone has a very bright idea, if they have they have kept it a secret, we cant win but we cant afford to lose, what a perfect nightmare.

The New York Times: Reports on the show trial in Iran of those opposed to President Ahmadinejad, the NYT writes the following on the trial, " signaled an intensified government attack on the opposition movement, which maintains that the June 12 election was rigged.." Even the Liberal New York Times can not hide this story; I guess after you cover up for Stalin, even the NYT has to have its limits, the extreme Liberal NYT wants Obama to talk to Iran, but there is a fly in the inkwell, the stolen election, repression of the people, the throwing of innocent people in to prison, the killing of people, show trials, even the Liberal NYT is not going to jump the shark for Obama over Iran. The mess in Iran helps Israel, Obama in his own arrogance might think he knows best, but as stated a 1st year student of International Politics would do a better job, Obama once stated to the Senate Majority Leader that he had a gift, that should be a warning in itself, Reagan the real Great Communicator, always stated it was the message not the messenger, there is a difference, Israel if its military planning is ready should attack Iran now, what is Obama going to do defend President Ahmadinejad, if Obama wants to be a combination of Neville Chamberlain and Jimmy Carter and think he cant get away with it he is very mistaken, the more we see of Obama and we see he is Jimmy Carter with better TV skills, but even that wearing think with the general public. Lest be honest here, the Government of President Ahmadinejad needs to provoke the West, it has its own TV spin, thus the show trials, the regime in Tehran needs to shift the blame to the West, the more that Iran looks like the USSR and Nazi Germany the more Obama is in a box. Its harsh but true. Thus it can be argued that those three holidaymakers in Iraq that might have crossed the border in Iran will face a trial. The will even more undercut the Obama policy, thus more sanctions thus Obama will be seen as another Bush 43. International Politics is a rough game, there are winners and losers, this is not a Harvard Seminar for the charm of Obama to win the room, thus Israel just might have an open door to attack Iran and Obama will not be in much of a position to decry a democracy against a tyranny.

Guardian: Reports on the critical comments by former President Mohammad Khatami on the show trials in Iran. One has to wonder how long this can go on in Iran, sooner later something has to give, either the reformers can topple President Ahmadinejad by peace for force or Ahmadinejad has to make Iran the new East Germany, one or the other. Lets be honest the peaceful route has failed, the Government of Ahmadinejad will not give up without a fight, they have gone to far, they know if the lose they will be up against the wall and shot. Thus those that want reform will have to make up their minds, will the swallow the totalitarian regime of President Ahmadinejad or they will the fight for freedom, that is the stark choice facing the people of Iran.

A Show Trial in Iran, Stalin and Hitler would have smiled on President Ahmadinejad

It can be argued that Hitler and Stalin are looking up from hell and smiling at their successor President President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Thus far President Ahmadinejad has stolen an election, killed his own people, started show trials, torture of people to get them to reverse their views. Does have the echo of Stalin and Hitler. So lets look at his other planned aims, the elimination of Israel. It is clear that Ahmadinejad is a totalitarian in the mold of Stalin and Hitler, these two killed millions before their deaths. Is Israel going to wait for President Obama to sell them down the river, he has done it in the past to his own family, what chance Israel, Obama has stated that Iran has till end of the year to come to talks, if Iran does not move Israel should hit Iran hard, even if its pushes Iran's nuclear plans back by ten years that is good, ten years is an age in politics, as this blog has predicted Obama will be one term President, he will out on his ear in 2012, thus his successor should be a Republican who will not tolerate a Nuclear Armed Iran. These show trials at the echo from the past, does Obama have the ability to get over his own arrogance.

Taxes on the Middle Class to GO UP ?

ABC News: George Stephanopoulos for ABC reports that the Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has not ruled raising taxes for the Middle Class. Thus as predicted in this blog, Obama will raise the taxes of the Middle Class. Thus if your earn below two hundred and fifty thousand expect your taxes to go up, Obama wants health care reform at the cost of the economy and the tax payer, thus he will have to pay for this reform, he will need to tax people on not much as twenty thousand a year to pay for his reform. If you don't want your taxes to go up and for Obama to take away your heath care this is the time to write to Congress, make your Representative understand if he votes for health care he will picking up his P45 as we say in the UK, in other words the sack in 2010.

" This might be Obama's bottom line it would not be that of Israel, Israel would see a nuclear armed Iran as a threat to its existence, thus like any nation it would have to take action, Obama might want to wear the hat of Neville Chamberlain, well he will have to do that on his own dime, Israel should follow its own example of 1980's when it bombed Iraq's nuclear plant. The almost religious faith Obama's is showing his his own judgement when it comes to Iran has the echos of the British PM Neville Chamberlain in the lead up to World War Two. As with Obama, Chamberlain was warned by Winston Churchill that appeasement was a mistake with Germany, the UK sold out the Czech People at Munich, will Obama sell out Israel because he is to arrogant to admit that he does not have clue when it comes to Foreign Policy, his domestic agenda is open to question, when it comes to Foreign Policy he has no clue, he did Law at Harvard not International Politics, almost any 1st year student of the subject would do a better job than Obama. Lets hope Israel does not have to pay for the arrogance of Obama. That would be STUPID.

The New York Times: Reports that the Senate Democratic Leadership could use the nuclear option over health care reform, the NYT writes the following, " Democrats are talking reluctantly — and very, very quietly — about exploiting a procedural loophole they planted in this year’s budget to skirt Republican filibusters.." In essence all the Democrats would need would be 51 votes to pass health care reform, the problem the Republicans could make life hell for the Democrats in the US Senate after that, they could force the Democrats to get 60 votes for all Bills. Its the option that no party should use, it like when hell freezes over, also the Democrats would own health care reform, no Republican support and Conservative Blue Dog Democrats in the House and Conservative Senators could face the chop in 2010. The Liberal New York Times can not see beyond its own nose, its so partisan it would destroy the country to get gay marriage, it has released National Security information that has helped Terrorists. If your see your Congress Representative or Senator tell them you oppose this trick by the Liberal Leadership in Congress, and ask them will they accept the same Health Care for themselves and their families as the Congress is trying to force on all other Americans.

2,000 More UK Soldiers for Afghanistan

The Sunday Times: Reports that the UK is expected to send two thousand more troops to Afghanistan. The more soldiers you have in Afghanistan the more body bags its that simple, but we can not afford to lose Afghanistan, the time when we could leave is over, last month the UK lost 22 of of its Armed Forces Personnel in Afghanistan, the USA lost 42. Once so much blood has been spilled it would be cowardice to leave, thus the UK is in Afghanistan for the long bloody haul. There has to be security in Afghanistan for the people to vote in the Presidential Election in August, the security structure of Afghanistan from the Army to Police has to be built up, the UK and the USA will be in Afghanistan for years, that's the simple fact. The opposition to the War will grow, it always does, this is the War Obama wanted to fight in the 08 Campaign, well he is POTUS, he has done a Obama surge in Afghanistan, its his war now, lets see how much of a War Leader President Obama is, is he FDR or LBJ.

The UK in Afghanistan

BBC News: Reports that the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee has been critical of the rule of the UK in Afghanistan, in essence we should be doing security not nation building. The problem is the Government of Gordon Brown wants to fight the War in Afghanistan on the cheap, thus its plan on Nation Building, helping with this does not take troops, if the UK's sole duty was security of Afghanistan we would have to send more troops and more helicopters. Thus the Select Committee has shown why PM Gordon Brown is no War Leader.
