The US has the air dominance over Iran, these strikes will prevent Iran from placing mines in the Strait of Hormuz, but the fear that Iran has the ability will frighten the tankers and their insurers against allowing transport of oil.  The US has to place ground troops on Kharg Island and take control of Iran's oil.  This is the only way to win the Iran War, otherwise Trump is a major loser, in the league of Hoover over the Great Depression, LBJ over the Vietnam War, and Carter over Iran hostage crisis.  Trump does not want to see himself as a loser.

Thus the Tehran has followed the demand from POTUS to stop shooting at Israel, while Israel thus far has not replied. The one condition that Tehran has stated is that Israel will cease  its actions in Lebanon.  ONE assumes Jerusalem will follow Tehran and cease shooting at Iran, as to Lebanon the Jerusalem Government will want to protect Northern Israel, so still an open wound.  Let's see if Trump can get his Memorandum of Understanding over the finish line.

The written statement read on Iranian TV, thus far no images or sound from Mojtaba Khameni, the Daily Mail reports that he is in a coma and has lost a leg ( Weekend at Bernies, anyone )  This blog is calling him DOA, dead on arrival, in other words he is toast like his father.  The Regime needs an image to keep going, so why not the dead son.   The message calls for the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz and the US to leave it bases in the Middle East, the usual fake news.
