Iran should know terrorism, its the chief exporter of terror in the Middle East and around the World.  It was behind the US Marine Barracks  bombing in Lebanon in 1983, and other crimes around the world.  The US action was a matter of self defence, Iranian actions are threat to ships passing in the Strait of Hormuz, the US action was against threats to the US Navy and its troops.  The ceasfire is still on, we are waiting to see if Iran and the US sign a memorandum of Understanding as to close the war.

In 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, a Russian Sub that had lost contact with Moscow rose to the surface rather than follow orders in such an event, they got contact back, if they had followed orders it could have lead to World War 3.  In 1983 a radar operator had his screen showing that the US had launched a nuclear attack, this was during the 1983 November scare when the Kremlin thought that the US was about attack by having a fake NATO exercise then to have a real attack.  The standing order was for the operator to contact the Kremlin, that could have lead to World War 3, in actually he rebooted the system and it showed that there was no attack, the above examples shows that it takes brave men to counter their military training and to check something out before going to WAR.  World War 3 would be the LAST WAR.  One does hope that if Putin takes 15% of Ukraine as part of Russia that there are men in the military who will say NO to the Kremlin should it want to use tactical nuclear weapons in the Ukraine.  One can postulate that the Kremlin will say that since these 4 areas have voted to become part of Russia, they are part of Russia prober, thus the Russian nuclear doctrine allows for the use of nuclear weapons.  Tense days ahead in the Ukraine and the West.

If the Russians places nuclear missiles in Cuba they will be breaking the 1962 agreement between Presidents Kennedy and Chairman Khrushchev that ended the Cuban Missile Crisis, any placement of nuclear missiles in Cuba could lead to a new Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Biden Oval cannot sell out the Turks this time as JFK did in 1962 under a secret agreement between the US and Russia.   The question is how far IS Putin willing to go and how far will Biden go to STOP HIM.  It can be postulated that IF Putin takes the East Ukraine but leaves the rest that might be enough to prevent a greater WAR, but if he goes for the WHOLE of the Ukraine, then ALL BETS ARE OFF, the US will supply military resources to the Kiev Government, very much like the US did in the 1980s to the fighters in Afghanistan.  This is hard lesson for history, if you have nuclear weapons don't give them as the Ukraine did in the 1990s.  Also it should be noted that Colonel Gaddafi after 9/11 gave up his nuclear materials to the US and looked what happened to him, overthrown by NATO.  Also this is why North Korea will never give up its nuclear missiles, the Regime is safe, the US or others will never attack a nuclear armed State, that is why Iran wants to become a nuclear armed power.  Thus a very frost few weeks ahead.

This could be Putin wanting a diplomatic face saving way to get off the ramp he has created and his officials have talked about a new Cuban Missile Crisis, or it could be Putin wanting to place more pressure on the Biden Oval.  The Putin DEMANDS cannot be met, he wants a LEGAL TREATY that prevents the Ukraine becoming part of NATO in the future, also that Eastern States in NATO have no NATO troops or equipment on their soil.  These demands have to get a firm NO or the security structure of Western Europe falls apart and gives Russia back its influence over the Baltic States and Poland and other Eastern States.  It will be interesting to hear the readout of the talks, Biden cannot afford to be seen to appease Putin in anyway, or he will become the new Neville Chamberlain, and it will be compared to Munich 1938.  One does wonder how far Putin is willing to push this, does he really want to risk WW3 over the Ukraine, as the US would be forced to support and supply the Ukraine.  What is the pay off or Putin, has he gone MAD, or is he trying to buy popularity with the Russian people, any invasion of the Ukraine would be bloody and it would cost Russia and the West.

Thus the worse general election for Labour since 1983 and even then Michael Foot managed to gain more SEATS that Jeremy Corbyn.   One of the main points for LABOUR losing was the fact that Jeremy Corbyn was a the LEADER, the UK VOTER was not going to vote for a MARXIST for PM, they are not that foolish.   The Labour Leadership and MPs need to learn that they have to track to the CENTER, that is how Tony Blair won won three elections, 1997, 2001, and even after Iraq in 2005.   The last leaders after Blair did not have a plan and were defeated by the voters in 2010, 2015 and even 2017 under PM May.  In some of the interviews the Labour leadership has said that they won on policy but not with the voters, it is the last bit that matters, after 1983 Labour learned its lesson, NOW they must re-learn those lessons.

The Labour Party is promising everything to everyone, a 5% hike in the public sector pay, giveaways on education, free transport on buses,  and how are they going to pay for all this,  of course by taxing the rich, the very rich will be on their planes out of the UK should Labour been seen as winning on election night, there are rumours that Labour want to introduce currency controls should they win, to prevent people taking their own money out of the Country.  If you support LABOUR, stop reading this blog and sign yourself in to the nearest mental home, because that is where you belong, not having the vote.  A Corby Labour Government would be a disaster for the UK, it would be the laughing stock of the World. Vote Conservatives to keep the Labour fools from power.  Also if your a pensioner expect your value of your retirement savings to go down, the Left wing Labour Party want to take over large areas of the economy, not caring about those that have their pensions tied to these industries.

One of the bedrocks of the Cold War was the FACT that both the US and then USSR understood that the use of nuclear weapons would mean the end of mankind.  Mutual Assured Destruction or MAD or short, kept both sides from going over the line, the closes the sides come to WAR was in 1962 with the Cuban Missile Crisis, when the USSR placed nuclear weapons in Cuba, at the end the USSR removed the Missiles, while the Kennedy Administration gave a secret assurance that it would take missiles out of Turkey in six months.  In 1983 the Kremlin Leadership had convinced itself that the Reagan Administration was about to do a first nuclear strike, when USSR radar showed a US nuclear strike, a brave and wise Soviet Office did not call the Kremlin, he thought it was a computer error, he was right, that is why we are all here.   When President Reagan learned that the USSR really thought that the US would strike in 1983 it started the path that would lead to the END OF THE COLD WAR with the arrival of President Gorbachev.   The examples above have been given to show how wise people need to make the right choices in the nuclear age.  One can only hope that India and Pakistan understand the COSTS of nuclear war, to miss quote Churchill, it's better to talk, talk, than War, War.
