This blog has never been so embarrassed by a UK PM, he is an appeaser in the mold of Neville Chamberlain.  The UK PM always sticks with the American President, no matter what, the Great Churchill had to see FDR trying to be friendly with Stalin at Yalta.  Eden learned that the hard way over Suez.  The balance this we should consider that the Great Reagan was slow over the Falklands War in 1982, he supported the Right wing Regime in Argentina, he came around in the end.  Reagan invaded Grenada in 1983, without telling Thatcher, the Queen was head of State, Grenada had become another Cuba threat.  Things will strain sometimes, but it will recover with a new UK PM. The Kremlin wants hostages, enough for the US to start talks that allows the Russians to win in the Ukraine, so far they hold 2, if the Ukraine can force the Russians back to the Crimea, the Kremlin will look for a way out, the best way out is to take Americans reporters as hostages, that gets on the nightly news back home, and places pressure on the Biden Oval to do something, the White House staff should keep the issue away from the Oval, Carter had his Iran hostages, and even the great Reagan had the hostages in Lebanon in the 1980s.  Thus the Iran Contra scandal.  The President cannot become distracted by the issue, the State Department should deal with the issue, the Department should warn Americans in Russia to get out, also the West should consider telling its reporters to get out, just in case the Kremlin wants to place pressure on Europe.  This is a nasty business, and the Russians actions are a stain on its character, but for Putin it might be a way out, he wants a major summit with Biden and the result  from the Kremlin point of view would be the US telling KYIV to talk to the Russians and make concessions and the Russia will release its hostages.   This must not happen, the security of the West is at stake.

If the Russians were bluffing they have gone to far, the US under Biden is not going to say NO to the Ukraine, it might make them say YES faster.  The NATO allies are not going to remove NATO troops from Eastern Europe States that are part of NATO or their equipment.  The latest line is that Putin is to be given military options if the diplomacy fails, there is two options left, have some real talks about a new INF Treaty and advance notice of military games or invade the Ukraine and make threats to the Baltic States and Poland.  Why Putin has gone this far?  The Russian President looks sane, well for a Russian tyrant.  It has to be asked who is advising him, his rich friends must be worried that their assets will be frozen by the West and Putin could be leading Russia in to a hot war with the West.  One hopes there are some sane people around Putin, also not afraid to tell him some home truths, nuclear wars are BAD! Is the Ukraine worth it,  WW3 would make WW2 look like a nice dinner party that went wrong!

More FAKE news from President Putin, he is following the Hitler game book with FAKE charges, the next step is invasion.  It seems that Biden's talk with Putin has not put him off if he plans to invade the Easter Ukraine and then the whole of the Ukraine, very Hitler and 1938 with the Czechs.   The Biden Oval should send more military equipment to the Ukraine, enough for them to stall the Russian Army for a while, lets be honest the Ukrainian people cannot win a WAR against Russia, with the best will in the world, what they can do is make Russia and Putin pay a heavy price, a price that he cannot hide, that means Russian body bags and in public.   The Biden Oval should send heavy NATO equipment to the Eastern members of NATO to show that Biden supports them, and he will not sell them out like Chamberlain did to the Czechs in 1938.  What is interesting that Russia placed pressure on Iran over its nuclear ambitions, one hopes that Biden has not made a secret deal, aka JFK and the selling out of Turkey in 1962 and the Yalta Conference that placed Eastern Europe in the Soviet backyard.
