This could really be about Kharg Island in Iran, the Island is the tap for the oil from Iran to the outer world, taking this would force to Tehran Regime to talk, they would not have the money to keep support in Iran, the Islamic Regime is as bent as you can come, they keep their street support through paying for thugs to harm and kill people.   The move on Kharg Island would be risky, there would be ground troops, Iran would try to kill or kidnap the troops and show them on Iranian TV as way to get to Americans, on the other hand this would be a mistake, the American psyche still recalls 444 days that Iran held the US Embassy staff in Iran, during the Carter Presidency.  Trump will want to win and quicky, he has the Mid Terms coming in November.

444 days will always be in the memory of this blog and haggard look on Jimmy Carter, the President during the Hostages Crisis of 1979 -81.  IRAN has been an evil presence in the International system since then.   The hostage crisis in Lebanon, and the IED's in Iraq developed by Iran.  If this is the end of the theocracy, that is good, there is an hell for the Supreme Leader and his supporters or prison for those still alive.

The US must have tough response to Iran, all roads in the Middle East end in Tehran, this has happened since the 1979 Revolution and the weak response by Jimmy Carter.  The President at the time could have stopped the Tehran Regime in its tracks if he had taken military action against the Islamic Regime after they took the US Embassy Staff hostages, let's recall they were held for 444 days and only released WHEN Reagan become President.  Their decades in power has lead to more deaths and destruction, they might have the bomb soon, thus President Biden must take action, the question does he want a 2nd term or not.

The White House National Security spokesman for the NSC confirms that Israel and Hamas have agreed to an extension of a two day pause, and that they think Hamas is holding up to 8 or 9 US hostages.  The White House should be keeping POTUS at arms length from this, it could go wrong, blast back on POTUS, it's Election year next year, does not want to be Jimmy Carter mark2.

Thus far so good, there have been small technical problems on the whole, but both sides have kept their word.  Let's recall HAMAS is a terrorist group, their word cannot be taken for granted, they lie as they breath, also POTUS should not take to much credit, in case something goes wrong, it has in the past.  POTUS should recall 444 days under Jimmy Carter and Iran Contra under Reagan.

The IDF attack on Hezbollah might be the more important, as they attacked the infrastructures of Hezbollah in Lebanon, as the old saying goes, uses it or lose it, and Iran might have to react, the West should be on ALERT for any talks  between Iran  and Lebanon.  The Israeli - Gaza WAR could take months, Iran knows that if it has the bomb it is protected, if not Israel and the West might have a go to reduce the chance of Iran getting the bomb.   Hamas wants its people to stay in the North of Gaza, this will cause problems for ISRAEL and the US and UK.  Israel should thinking about releasing the video of October 7th to the World, to show how evil HAMAS is.  As for the hostages, the Israeli PM and POTUS should think about 444 days, that is how long the US Diplomates were held in Iran, it cost Carter his 2nd term.

Hamas is doing the above to seed mistrust of the Israeli Government and create discord with those that support Israel, they want to force the US to prevent Israel sending in the troops, the number POTUS should recall is 444 days that the Tehran held the US Embassy staff in Iran as  hostages.  They play on people emotions, you need cold hard thinking when making decisions on international politics.  The Israeli Army has recalled three hundred thousand troops to the Colours.  The story thread in Israel is that they should take down the main terrorist group in Lebanon that is supported by Iran, think 1941, when Japan attacked the US, the Roosevelt Administration wanted to fight Germany, lucky for FDR, Hitler declared WAR on the US a few days later.  In other words Israel has to get lucky, and hope that Iran makes a big mistake when it comes to attacking US troops in the region.  The Israeli Government is not as lucky as the UK was in 1941, then the US had FDR as President, its Biden in the Oval now,  a weak old man.  Also seeking a 2nd term.  Hamas wants a ceasefire, then it MIGHT release 50 hostages.  They are playing games, the innocents are the pawns, Israel must not play their game.

The Kremlin wants hostages, enough for the US to start talks that allows the Russians to win in the Ukraine, so far they hold 2, if the Ukraine can force the Russians back to the Crimea, the Kremlin will look for a way out, the best way out is to take Americans reporters as hostages, that gets on the nightly news back home, and places pressure on the Biden Oval to do something, the White House staff should keep the issue away from the Oval, Carter had his Iran hostages, and even the great Reagan had the hostages in Lebanon in the 1980s.  Thus the Iran Contra scandal.  The President cannot become distracted by the issue, the State Department should deal with the issue, the Department should warn Americans in Russia to get out, also the West should consider telling its reporters to get out, just in case the Kremlin wants to place pressure on Europe.  This is a nasty business, and the Russians actions are a stain on its character, but for Putin it might be a way out, he wants a major summit with Biden and the result  from the Kremlin point of view would be the US telling KYIV to talk to the Russians and make concessions and the Russia will release its hostages.   This must not happen, the security of the West is at stake.

This is it, Israel might have no  choice if the story is TRUE, the Israeli intelligence service, the Mossad will know for sure, the Israeli PM might not wait for the Green light from the Biden Oval,  POTUS has Ukraine and China on his mind, does anyone think that POTUS will strike Iran, this blog doubts it.  Thus security of Israel and the Middle East might be down to Israel and its Gulf Allies, worrying development.  The one thing that could change Biden's mind is the fact that he is running for a 2nd term, a nuclear armed Iran with the a on going WAR in the Ukraine and the threat to Taiwan from China would be hard even for the liberal press to hide.  If Biden thinks that a Israeli strike on IRAN could start a Middle East War he might think it was better for the US to ACT, Iran would have to think hard about taking on the US in military terms, if the US wanted to it could wipe Iran off the face of the WORLD.  There is no love of Iran in the US, after the hostages of the Carter Era, the terrorism from Iran in the 1990s and the threat to Israel at present.

If POTUS wants to run in 2024 he better get his head out of the sand when it comes to East Ukraine, he has already lost Afghanistan to the Taliban and in the process got 13 US military service personnel killed.  If Putin's Kremlin takes the South East Ukraine and absorbs it in to Russia then Biden can kiss goodbye to 2024 and the Democrats holding the Congress this November.  The US Defence Department needs to send billions of more arms and weapons, even the heavy stuff, long range missiles otherwise the Ukraine will be split, the West will have to deal with a BROKEN Country and help rebuild it, while the the Kremlin tries to destroy what is left of the Ukraine.  Thus political and moral action go hand in hand, POTUS must ACT and FAST or he and the Democratic Party are toast. One does hope that the Biden political staff in the White House know something about international politics and the consequences of FAILURE, they should have a word with Jimmy Carter, the failed President that none of his successors wanted to be, a one term President.  In that One term club have been Hoover, Carter, Bush 43 and Trump.  It should be noted that LBJ did five years, becoming President on the death of JFK in November 1963,  and winning in 1964 but deciding not to run in 1968 due to the Vietnam War, Nixon won a 2nd term in 1972 but resigned in 1974 due to Watergate, Gerald Ford become President after the resignation of Nixon, going down to defeat in 1976 to Jimmy Carter.  The second set of Presidents can be seen as failures, that no one wants to follow.
