Trump has one chance not to become another Carter, he has to place ground troops in Kharg Island, and make it plain that if Iran moves it forces he will blow Kharg Island in to the heavens, and place troops to take Iran's nuclear material. The workers who support are the return of the Reagan Democrats, people who work by their hands and live pay check to pay check.  This is why VP Harris had pandered her recent CNN Town Hall, she stated she would increase the minimum wage to $15 dollars an hour.  These workers tend to be more conservative than the Democratic Party, thus open to Trump's wild and crazy speeches.   Thus the Harris has two weeks to get her message through, she has gone extreme, she has called Trump a Fascist, in this she was supported by President Biden, POTUS stated he wanted to lock up Trump, he caught himself and stated he wanted to lock out Trump from the political process.  The Presidential race will get more dirty, this is not shinning city on the of Reagan's time.

This is a shock,  Walz is liberal like Harris, two liberals on the ticket could be a gift to the Republicsns, they will point out that the other candidate Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania was not chosen because he is Jewish and a firm supporter of Isrsel, the polls on this should be interesting.  Thus the campaign properly starts, Trump will have a field day with this, even the Liberal elite might raise a eyebrow over this decision.  ALSO lets recall that Governor Walz of Minnesota is the Governor of the only State to vote for Walter Mondale in 1984 and years later voted not to put Walter Mondale back in the Senate, thus the joke that Mondale had lost every State of the Union, even I can think of the political adverts to hit the Harris/Walz campaign with, to Liberal for the fly over States!

POTUS needs Trump in the race as the age issue goes away, the Donald is also OLD.  The 2024 race is not over yet! events can change the narrative. The liberal press it seems have already settled for a re- match.

It was  a rowdy affair, the Republicans came with attacks lines, while POTUS pandered to the left wing base of the Democratic Party.  Let's be real, POTUS is running for a 2nd term, the problem is that the US voters see him as to OLD and not a GREAT President, the were a few lines on China and Russia, in attempt to appeal to moderate Republicans and moderates in the middle. The Biden Oval should have stressed that more, the support for the Ukraine WAR is down, the Biden Oval should be attacking Russia ever day, show the security of Ukraine is in fact the security of Western Europe and the US.   The House Republicans did not do themselves any good, a President should be listened too, with some respect, the Republicans showed no respect, even the Speaker could not get them to show some respect.   The State of the Union is the kick off for 2024, the only shock would be if Biden decided not run, since that is not going to happen the US voter could face their WORST nightmare, another matchup between Biden and Trump, and Trump is leading in some of those polls.  One does wish sometimes that the UK had vote, no that would have been mistake, we would have gotten another Jimmy Carter term or worst his VP, Walter Mondale, who thinks the Cold War would have ended with them, it would still be going on.

It seems form news reports that POTUS is still thinking about running in 2024 an so are his staff, let's recall the late great President, Ronald Reagan went down to 35% in his polling rating on Gallup in the early years of his Presidency.  Also let's recall that that in 1984 he won 49 States, 59% of the vote and 525 electoral college votes and left in 1988 with a gallup rating of 63%, only Bill Clinton got more at 66% at the end of his Presidency.   At its fair to say these two President has their own scandals, Bill Clinton's being the most sordid with his affair with an intern.  The main fact being that these Presidents came back in to favour with the public, but only Reagan's VP, George H.W. Bush become President after his boss, it was seen as Reagan's third term.  Thus back to Biden, let's be clear Biden is not worthy to clean the late President's Reagan golf shoes, but on the whole he has had a successful first two years with the Congress, and things were looking up, inflation down a bit, unemployment down to the lowest in 50 years, and then classified files were found in one of his office and a home, and Special Counsel was give the job of investigation the matter.  The Biden Oval really needs to think, will the investigation last two years, it is simple for the Special Counsel to ask to interview the President, the files were found in his office and home, it should not take that much time.  Then the Congress will have investigations, the Biden Oval is painting them as extreme, might not work, Biden is NO REAGAN or even BILL CLINTON, people have been wondering with his age, is he losing track of things, he has shown that many times.  Thus an easy way to explain not running, the Democrats do not want to be stuck with a President who can only win if Donald Trump is the Republican candidate, what if the Republicans chose someone else, Biden becomes a former President.  The done deal that Biden will run in 2024 is not a 100%, events, events as a former UK PM once stated can thrown the game in the air and President Biden has to wait for what the Special Counsel does, the Congress with investigations of him and his son and what happens over seas, with the Ukraine, Russia, Iran, North Korea and China's threat to invade Taiwan.   EVENTS, EVENTS!!

If you looked at past Presidents, only President Reagan had the lowest level support during his first mid terms, before Biden came along.  Thus Biden White House can argue, that Reagan came back in 1984 and won 49 States, 59% of the vote and 525 electoral votes, and Biden can do the same, from his 40% approval at the moment.  LET'S BE CLEAR, Biden is not fit enough to clean President Reagan's old golf shoes, Reagan was a great President, he would have made sure that the Ukraine was never invaded and called the USSR the EVIL EMPIRE, neither Obama or Biden did this before the Russian invasion in 2014 and now in 2022, there are reports in the weekend press that that the Biden appeasers want KYIV to talk to Putin's Kremlin, they are worried about the allies, that some are weaker in their support than the US.  One can postulate that this is down to Foggy Bottom, in other words the US State Department, they always want to appease.  It would be wise for Mrs B to tell Joe it's time Joe, you have been Vice - President and President, do not run again. The one high point for Walter Mondale during the 1984 race was the first debate, to be fair it can be said that Reagan had a BAD FIRST DEBATE, this trend has been followed by future Presidents, after four years in the bubble and age the President was not at his best, this lead to reporters to ask about the age question, it was mentioned less for Biden who won in 2020.   In the 2nd debate Reagan took the issue head on and stated that he would not make his opponents youth and lack of experience a issue, it did the trick, everyone laughed, even Mondale, he knew he has just LOST.   It will be interesting to see how CNN plays the funeral and the Carter record.

It was sad to hear that the former Vice - President had died, although his family will be grieving, it is important to look at the Carter - Mondale record while in OFFICE, on the domestic front there was high inflation, low employment, and on the international front, Russia invaded Afghanistan and the ruler of a secular Iran was overthrown by the Regime still in power, the number one supporter of terrorism in the World.   The Carter victory in 1976 was a reaction to Watergate, Vietnam and the failed polices of the Ford Administration.  At one debate President Ford seem not to get the fact that Easter Europe was under the influence of Russia.  The victory in November 76 was the high point, after that it went down hill.   In 1980 Reagan was a massive victory, 44 States and turned the US around on the domestic and international front.  In 1984 Mondale won the Democratic nomination and was defeated by Reagan by 49 States, 59% of the vote and 525 electoral votes.  Later Mondale tried to run for his old Senate Seat, he was defeated.   Thus the view that over all Mondale had lost ALL 50 States at one time or another.

The Bidne campaign will be hoping that VP Biden comes out firing with good lines in the debate tonight, he needs a moment when he can show he is the front runner, he can not afford another average performance or a poor show.   The former VP needs to go after Mayor Pete as to young and Sanders as to LEFT WING, he needs funny lines, like Reagan's put down of Walter Mondale in 1984.  Thus the VP needs to be in the top two after Tuesday, anything else and he will have to win Nevada, another caucus State ( God help us )   

Tuesday's Democratic Presidential Debate - Election 2020

Tuesday is the first round, the main contest will be between Warren and Sanders, will they fight each other for the same voters or will they unite against the other more moderate candidates.  The big match so to speak is Wednesday, that will see VP Biden vs. Harris and Booker.   The VP has fought back since his disaster in the last debate, is still leads national polls and State polls in Iowa and New Hampshire.  The VP can expect Senator Booker to go after his support of the 1994 Crime Bill, while Harris might want to attack Biden for his civil relationship with racist Senators, but since she has done that before, she might want to go on to other subjects.   In the bigger picture POTUS is not helping himself, his racist tweets is taking away a look at his successful economic record, high employment within ethnic groups, the stock market is high, and the economy looks good.  Any other President would be a shoe it for a 2nd term, but Trump is making it harder for himself, Reagan in his first term had a major recession, but he turned it around and won 49 States against Walter Mondale, it should be noted that Reagan did not appease Russia, as his speech on the " Evil Empire ", he was tough on foreign policy.   Trump should learn from Reagan, he really was the Teflon President.

CNN had a panel of Democratic voters who have not made their minds up of who to vote for, at the end of the debate they still had not made up their minds, but when asked who they thought had a good night, three names came up, Warren, Booker and Castro.  The loser was Beto O' Rourke, the golden boy of the Democratic Party was seen to have fleet of clay, he was taken out by Castro.  The issue was if migrants should be charged with a criminal offence should they cross the border or make it a civil issue.   The BIG DEBATE is tonight, former VP Biden is up against Senator Sanders and Mayor Pete and and numerous other candidates.   The view of this blogger is if any of the first debate team win the White House you will need LSD to keep awake, they were so BORING, even POTUS stated that in a tweet.   None of them came up with a pithy line, such as Reagan's 1980 line to a debate moderator, " Mr Green I am paying for this microphone " or his 1984 line to Walter Mondale, " I will not use my opponent youth and inexperience against him "

It can be postulated that Trump if he gets re-elected with not have a 49 State victory that Nixon had in 1972 and Reagan had in 1984.   Before liberal pundits start to point out that Biden is leading in a number of states should recall that Bill Clinton never won over 49% of the vote in either 1992 and 1996, it is about the electoral college, and as this blogger has noted in one of those polls, Ohio, Biden only lead by 1%.  Let's recall that Trump won Ohio by near 10% in 2016 and there is a long year to go before we get in to the general election.    The Democrats have not had their debates yet, and if Warren who is on a surge at this moment wants to be the nominee she will have to take down Biden, the same for Sanders.   VP Biden has a VERY LONG record, and it will be open to attack, no one thought that Trump would win in 2016, thus readers should be wary of those that say the race is OVER, sometimes when watching or reading the liberal press one gets the idea that they want to jump the Primaries, that do not start in till 2020, the candidates have yet been in the COLD of Iowa and NH. Long way to go folks.

The best unemployment news in nearly 50 years, the Trump Campaign for 2020 and POTUS should be shouting this from the rooftop, the Trump Oval has to keep on message, it is the economic stupid ( Bill Clinton theme in 1992 ).   The President has to keep to the simple message, that the US is at peace, no big wars, and the economy is booming.  If POTUS keeps to this message he will WIN BIG in 2020, even 49 States as Reagan did in 1984.  If the President goes off message he could hand the Oval Office over to former VP Joe Biden, a politician that Reagan had no time for at all, as stated in his diaries.   The Democrats will try to make 2020 about the character of Trump, the Trump Oval should keep it about basic economic news, are you better off now that you were four years ago ( Reagan theme in 1980, 1984 ).  Let's see how good Trump can be on keeping on MESSAGE, it is simple and should be stated ALL THE TIME, It is the economy stupid and it is going GREAT.

I hate to say this, but President Trump could be RIGHT, Biden has to move to the  extreme LEFT to win the Democratic nomination, and by calling him out Trump could make the Democratic voters think that Trump sees Biden as a threat, thus vote for him.   The problem is that the Biden sorry tour is still going on, he is trying to clean up his mess over Anita Hill and he has promised to revoke the Trump tax cuts, thus tax hikes, it seems good old Joe has forgotten, well he is 76, that a former VP, Walter Mondale promised tax hikes at the 1984 Democratic Convention, President Reagan beat Walter Mondale by 49 States, 59% of the vote and 525 electoral college votes, thus tax hikes not a good idea to run on.   The more Senators Sanders and Warren move to the Dems to the LEFT, the more ordinary voters will see that the the Democratic nominee is the captive of the LEFT, thus Trump could have a landslide, a big landslide if the nominee is the Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders. Let's recall folks it still April 2019, a long road before Iowa. 

North Korea will not Budge when it comes to its Nuclear Policy - Trump Era

At last President Trump has done something Presidential, he walked away from talks with North Korea, it seems that a light bulb has gone off in the brain of POTUS, he got the fact that he was being played by North Korea.   The President stated that North Korea wanted all sanctions off, in return for a limited denuclearisation, while NK stated it just wanted partial sanctions removed.   It can be postulated that Kim Jong-un seeing the weakness of Trump at home with the Russia investigation thought that POTUS would grant the concessions he wanted just for a picture op of the two leaders singing a limited agreement.   It will be interesting to see what North Korea does NEXT, will it carry on with back channel talks or will it start to test it nuclear weapons again and launch missiles over Japan.  The last option would be a MISTAKE, it would allow POTUS to get tough, even take military action, he could argue that he tried peaceful talks, and the NK tried to play him like a second hand car.    A tougher position on North Korea would go down well with the voters in 2020, it didn't do Reagan any harm in 1984, he was tough with the USSR and the economy was roaring along.  Of course Trump is NO REAGAN, he can not keep on message, and no one ever accused President Reagan of being an asset of the Russians.  Asia could get very hot or NK could fold when it comes to its nuclear weapons.

In the modern World we all use the above, it should be a security worry for the private citizen and Western Governments, the FACT that Wikileaks has released them shows they are no friend of the simple citizen, they just want to cause damage.  It could be argued that Western Countries should use the law to hold Wikileaks accountable, these leaks allow the BAD guys and criminals to HACK the system of citizens around the World.   This is BIG BROTHER gone wrong, as in the Western governments have the right to HACK citizens as to protect them against terror, the BAD guys and criminals could use the above methods to make money or cause a scandal.  This is bad day for Western security.
