The two challengers to Trump have taken their time to get their claws out, it might be to late, the former President has a vast lead in Iowa and New Hampshire, the question is who will come in 2nd in Iowa, and will that be a good 2nd, a few points off Trump, a 2nd at Trump with a 20+ lead is no good, as soon as the Iowa result is in the candidates will be off to NH, sorry once the caucus's open the candidates will be on their planes to NH.  The Republicans should be wary of CNN, once the General Election starts that liberal force of the media will attack the Republicans, CNN, NYT, MSNBC and the left wing media in the UK.  They loath the Republicans and hate Trump.

The one question that the elite liberal media has not asked itself, perhaps they are afraid of the answer, do Americans, tired of the culture wars, and the useless politicians in D.C want a " Dictator for the Day ", do not worry this blog has not lost the plot, it is still a small d = Democrat.  But one has to ask why Trump leads Biden in one poll by 47% to 43% for Biden, are American voters sick of the culture issues, form Abortion ( yes this blog supports abortion on demand ) and green issues ( who cares? ).  Trump has joked he will be a dictator for a day, remove mass immigrants and drill for oil, the elite media miss the point, what if that is what people want, not the Anchors on CNN want.   POTUS needs to sell aid to Ukraine, he cannot afford for the Ukraine to go the way of Afghanistan, if he cannot sell the issue, he should stand aside and support someone who will.

The American people in poll after poll have made it clear they do not want a rematch between President Biden and former President Trump.  The American people are not happy with the choices being pushed by the Established Parties, the Republican Party has become a CULT OF TRUMP, while the Democratic Party is to afraid to unite around a new candidate.   This is the time for a third party candidate to come forward, either male or female, moderate on social issues but tough on Defence and cutting the spending of the US Government.   The bases of both Parties are well off the reservation, the Republicans follow the cult of Trump, it would give victory to Putin in the UKRAINE, while the Liberal base of the Democratic Party, just wants to spend more, the US is about 35 trillion in debt, that cannot go on.  2024 should be about the rebirth of US Democracy, one just hopes that the Country and the political establishment  wake up in time, or the US will follow the Roman Empire, mass migration and the fall of the Empire, and the British Empire become to expensive for the UK from 1947 onwards after WW2.

Although political geeks like this blog and those that have an interest in politics would come to view that Biden was going to be the nominee from the national Democratic polls taken so fart, that would be BIG MISTAKE.   Let's recall that HRC was sure fire winner in 2008, the Crown was for her to lose, and she did lose it to Barack Obama, in 2016 Senator Sanders gave HRC a run for her money and still lost to POTUS.  The good people of Iowa and New Hampshire do not like to be taken for granted, they expect the candidate to come to their homes, to talk policy with them and their neighbours, it is general said there are two to three tickets out of Iowa, so let's speculate that those three are Biden, Warren and Sanders, the big test will be New Hampshire, can the candidate who takes IOWA also take NEW HAMPSHIRE, if a candidate manages to that they are heading for the nomination.   It nearly 5 months before IOWA, a week is a long time in politics, months are years.

Tuesday is the first round, the main contest will be between Warren and Sanders, will they fight each other for the same voters or will they unite against the other more moderate candidates.  The big match so to speak is Wednesday, that will see VP Biden vs. Harris and Booker.   The VP has fought back since his disaster in the last debate, is still leads national polls and State polls in Iowa and New Hampshire.  The VP can expect Senator Booker to go after his support of the 1994 Crime Bill, while Harris might want to attack Biden for his civil relationship with racist Senators, but since she has done that before, she might want to go on to other subjects.   In the bigger picture POTUS is not helping himself, his racist tweets is taking away a look at his successful economic record, high employment within ethnic groups, the stock market is high, and the economy looks good.  Any other President would be a shoe it for a 2nd term, but Trump is making it harder for himself, Reagan in his first term had a major recession, but he turned it around and won 49 States against Walter Mondale, it should be noted that Reagan did not appease Russia, as his speech on the " Evil Empire ", he was tough on foreign policy.   Trump should learn from Reagan, he really was the Teflon President.

I hate to say this, but President Trump could be RIGHT, Biden has to move to the  extreme LEFT to win the Democratic nomination, and by calling him out Trump could make the Democratic voters think that Trump sees Biden as a threat, thus vote for him.   The problem is that the Biden sorry tour is still going on, he is trying to clean up his mess over Anita Hill and he has promised to revoke the Trump tax cuts, thus tax hikes, it seems good old Joe has forgotten, well he is 76, that a former VP, Walter Mondale promised tax hikes at the 1984 Democratic Convention, President Reagan beat Walter Mondale by 49 States, 59% of the vote and 525 electoral college votes, thus tax hikes not a good idea to run on.   The more Senators Sanders and Warren move to the Dems to the LEFT, the more ordinary voters will see that the the Democratic nominee is the captive of the LEFT, thus Trump could have a landslide, a big landslide if the nominee is the Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders. Let's recall folks it still April 2019, a long road before Iowa.

Its FEBRUARY folks, we have a YEAR to go.   Let's recall that VP Biden has not entered the race yet, the uber LIBERAL New York Times has already putting out any fires that might cause Biden not to run, his foundations and other structures, also his speeches.   As to Senator Harris she might have blown it already by her comments at a CNN town meeting, she stated that her plan was to abolish private medical insurance, the US voter will recalls Barack Obama's false claim, if you liked your Doctor you could keep him/her, thus when you get into the weeds with private medical insurance people go off the idea of losing THEIR cover.  As for Senator Sanders and Warren they are to LIBERAL, Warren wants to tax the rich to the point that it would make the US look like the 1970s all over again.  As to Senator Booker he has just entered the race, this blog agrees with President Trump, he will not be the Democratic Nominee, he does not have "IT", whatever you might think of Barack Obama he has charisma, Booker is no Obama.   Thus this blog is still waiting for that RIGHT candidate, he or she needs to be LIBERAL on domestic issues but not to liberal, does not pander and is to the right of Vlad the Impaler when it comes to foreign policy.

One does feel sorry for the poor Democratic voters in Iowa and NH, the Presidential races are starting very early, every cycle.  The voters in Iowa and NH like to have the candidates in their living rooms, talking to small groups, seeing how the Candidates cope under pressure, kicking the tyres of the campaign.   The Democrats want a WINNER, Senator Harris looks like an interesting candidate, a liberal yes, but was a tough prosecutor, also she is an ethnic candidate, this will appeal to the base of the Democratic Party.  On the other hand, not everyone is Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and being a woman does not mean she will win, as HRC has shown a woman can win the nomination, but how will the Senator play in the fly over States, former VP Biden is expected to get in to the race, if he is not careful he will be to LATE.   On the other hand this blog is not ruling out that HRC could run again, what else have the Clinton to do, politics is their only interest.

Reagan in 1964 started his path to the White House with a speech in support of Senator Barry Goldwater, Obama started his path in 2004 in support of Senator John F. Kerry.  Thus it has been shown that A speech can start the process, Reagan become a Governor in 1966, ran as a dark horse candidate for President in 1968, ran a close fight with President Ford in 1976 and become POTUS in 1980.  In the case of President Obama, he ran for the Senate, hardly stayed long, wise, ran for President in 2008 and won.  Ms Winfrey has the brand name from her TV show and is a successful businesswoman, and a good speech to the Golden Globes awards show, but can she face being in the cold campaign of Iowa and New Hampshire in January, that is a different matter.   Thus blog would not shockd if she did  run, after Trump anything is possible.

There is something to be said for HRC running again, she is the most well known Democrat in the Country, Reagan had three attempts at the Presidency, he ran 1968 against Richard Nixon, he was  dark horse candidate, in 1976 he came close to unseatting a sitting President in President Ford, and he beat President Carter in 1980.  Of course the thought of HRC running again might dismay a majority of Democrats, there must be another JFK, Bill Clinton or Barack Obama in their ranks, someone new that can unite the different wings of the Democrat Party and can appeal to the rest of the Country, let us recall if it's Senators Sanders or Warren the combine age of the candidates would be over 140, not healthy for a Democracy.

This is the SECOND time that the Cruz Campaign has played dirty pool, the first time was in Iowa, one can say that Trump is bad, while Cruz recalls Richard Nixon and not in a good way, that how scandals start, lets recall Nixon played dirty pool to get elected in 1968, it ended up in Watergate, what happens if Cruz wins the nomination and wins the Presidnecy, how far would a Cruz Administration go to get its policy ends.   As posted by this blog one really has to see Governor Kasich as the adult in the room, he would make a fine President, the only problem is that Kasich needs to win his home State of Ohio and then have a contested convention.   They are long odds even for this blog.

SO will it be the Donald after Super Tuesday or an Rubio and Cruz unite to defeat the the Trump.  It would be an interesting idea, what about a joint ticket, Rubio and Cruz, or the other way around, of course the hour is to late, the moderates and the Establishment should have thought of that a long time ago, so in political reality we could see Donald Trump as the Republican nominee, one does wonder if he will change his manner, his speech and policies, that might be asking to much, that is why this blog with regret is supporting HRC all the way to the Oval, the Clintons have their flaws, and BILL has major flaws, we all know what they are, but he does have a fine brain and would be a great help to HRC when it comes to foreign policy.    Who would have thought his blog would end up supporting HRC.

Let's hope the Donald does not use Mussolini as a political role model, when one starts to warm to the Trump he does something like this, thus forcing this blog back to supporting HRC all the way to the Oval.  In the case of HRC one can see her pandering, one sees her political mind rolling how to make sure the African American vote turn out for her.  This blog understands that the US voter is peeved, one could use more colourful words, BUT being angry does not allow them to vote for candidates who are extreme, Sanders on the left and now Trump on the right.   It can be said that 2016 is a VERY different kind of election.

IF Rubio can not keep his own State then its over for that Campaign, first up in that contest is Senator Cruz in Texas, two recent polls have Cruz ahead, IF Cruz can win Texas and Rubio in Florida then the Republican contest could go to the Republican Convention, then anybody could win, this blog has doubts that it will go that way, the Republicans have to learn to be fond of the Donald, make him part of the Establishment, then curb his more right wing views, of course the question is can the Donald be controlled, one would SAY NO, thus if Rubio can Cruz can not win other States the Republicans will just have to accept the Donald, yes its that bad, he could win the Oval, then the Republicans will worry, its not easy choice the Donald or HRC, one will need a drink in November for election night!!

Thus can Conservatives learn to love the Donald, or at least not dislike him, that is a hard question, this blog has made it clear that it would support HRC over the Donald, but that was before HRC went extreme left to counter Senator Sanders.  At least the Donald is DIRECT, painful direct and very honest, can D.C take such a President.  Although some of the polices suggested by Trump are racist, banning Muslims from coming to the US, one can see how the Establishment could tune such views down or suggested different paths to reach the same goal, that is the national security of the US.   This blog is not sold on the Donald yet, but the more HRC goes left the more this blog is left to return to the Trump.    Cruz would be a disaster as a President, Rubio would be good, but can he win any States, including his own.   Next week should be interesting, a lot of States go to vote, lets see how the Donald does.

WHY, WHY has former Governor Romney done this attack on Trump, it could be sour grapes that he did not win in 2012, when he should have won after Obama's first term, or he could be throwing a dice for the Republican Establishment, who do not like Trump and wish either Rubio or Cruz to the be the 2016 Nominee for the Republicans, the Trump has not reacted well to these comments, as the article notes, " Mr Trump has hit back calling the ex-governor "one of the dumbest and worst candidates" in Republican history. ".   I think it can be agreed that Trump is a billionaire, his buildings show that, Trump is Trump after all, would a President Trump be that BAD?

IF this blog betted on political results it would be risky to vote against the Donald for the Republican nomination, Senator Rubio needs to win States, he has to win his home State of Florida, while Cruz has to take Texas.   One can see a way to the Republican nomination for Trump, but with each loss it gets harder for Rubio.    Let's postulate that Trump wins the nomination, then the Democrats have to get their election over fast and ALLOW HRC to become the Democratic nominee, as the Donald is funding himself, the Democrats have to hit their supporters hard for money, and lot of money, lets see if the Clintons can match the Donald.  The Democratic Primary in South Carolina is expected to go to Clinton, the Democratic Establishment has to place pressure on Sanders to get out, the longer he stays the more flak Clinton will face from Trump and Sanders.
