IF Cruz was trying to do a Reagan of 1976 when the Gipper challenged President Ford right up to the Convention then he failed.    After Reagan gave his speech the Republican Party realised they had chosen the wrong nominee, there is no way that Cruz will be the nominee in 2020, he has broken the Reagan rule of not being critical of a fellow Republican.   Reagan had class, Cruz would not make it as a Butler never mind a President.

One can now see why in a recent poll Francis Underwood of House of Cards was more popular than any of the real candidates for President.  This election 2016 has gone off the cliff, it says something that how ever the negatives for HRC are she is still the better candidate for President.   Just think voters if ITS President Trump, he could be a disaster, he wants to reset the relationship with Russia, break the leadership of US has in NATO, does not want to fight foolish wars, American interests first, these look perfect if your working in the Kremlin, it would give you leadership of Eastern Europe, the Daesh terror group could out last Trump, all the others threats as North Korea and Iran would come out of the woodwork.   Thus the US has to say NO to Trump.

The Election of 2016 is getting more like the old Twilight Zone every day, now the JFK assassination is part of the mix.   One can only hope  Senator Sanders ends his fight for the nomination and that HRC can start to think about the general election.  Let's recall the Donald is very RICH, he can fund his own campaign, thus HRC has to raise a lot of cash and fast otherwise Trump will buy the Presidency.   The US founding fathers must be turning in their graves, what has happened to the US.   One has to blame the Obama Presidency for this mess. 

Cruz's VP Choice - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

This is a bold move by Senator Cruz, it allows Fiorina to be his attack dog while he can fight on policy.   Also it has already annoyed Trump, the friction between Trump and Fiorina is well known.  In declaring his VP choice he is following what Ronald Reagan did in 1976, lets see if it is more successful now than it was then, there will be pressure on Trump to declare his VP, to state so would be a mistake,  Trump needs to think careful about this choice, he needs someone to balance him, what about Kasich, that would end this long running game.

Another Super Tuesday - Election 2016

The QUESTION that must be asked are we going to have to accept that Donald Trump will be the Republican Nominee, as of now it looks like Trump will be the nominee, it is expected that he will have a good night tonight, will the deal between Cruz and Kasich do any difference, it might annoy voters, they do not like the idea of back room deals, it looks like the Establishment is trying to pull a fast one, thus voters if your a Republican and you supported Reagan the only way out is to VOTE for Hillary Clinton in November.   The domestic agenda of a HRC Administration will be LIBERAL, but one can expect a tougher foreign policy, in life you have to make the odd deal, and this is the case with HRC, hope that the supposed hawk turns up, no one with any honour could vote for Trump.

This is the LAST throw of the dice by Senator Cruz and Governor Kasich, if it does not work then Trump will be the Republican Nominee, and it has been suggested that a Trump ticket would lose as big as Barry Goldwater lost in 1964 to LBJ.    Let's recall the only bright spot of the Goldwater Campaign was the birth of Ronald Reagan as a serious candidate for 1968, 1976 and finally winning in 1980.   Thus from the ruins of 2016 we might to see a 2nd Reagan come along, not holding my breath but it is a hope.

The Cruz Campaign is getting the delegates while the Trump Campaign is a big white shark out of its depth.  The only way the Republicans can win in November is for there to be a contested convention, with neither Trump or Cruz getting the right number of 1237 and the delegates finally going for a vote winner in the shape of Kasich, he would bring in Ohio, while he could pick Rubio has his VP.    Thus you have the road through the electoral maths to the Oval Office.   This long contest is starting to get slightly tedious.

Donald Trump calls Senator Cruz, lying Ted, well it seems Ted understands the rules of the Republican Party, the Republican Establishment loath Donald Trump they just hate Cruz.   Let's be honest the Establishment would like to to see both Trump and Cruz go on a one way trip to Mars together, they have the ego for the power thrust.   The Donald does not seem to care or want to understand the rules of the Republican Party, it does make one wonder how Trump become a billionaire, he did, he must understand Hotel construction better than politics.   IF it is a contest convention this blog is supporting Governor Kasich of Ohio.

The Donald is acting like a LOSER already even before the Republican National Convention, it is his fault that he did not understand the rules of the Republican Party, the ego did not check his at the door before entering the race.   IF the Donald reacts this badly to his own Party how will react to the rest of the World.   This is WHY this blog is supporting HRC, she might have allowed the enemies of the US to check her email,  but it was an accident, of the three possible candidates for President she has True Grit.

The Republican 2016 race has reached the Outer Limits of reality but the above is typical of the hot air coming out of  the Trump Campaign, in less the Cruz Campaign has physically hurt delegates, thrown them into cells, used torture, or murder them the Cruz Campaign is not the rebirth of the Gestapo, when you start to compare the Opposition to the Nazi's you know a Campaign is worried.    The Cruz campaign are using the rules of the Republican Party, it shows that the Trump Campaign has been a one man band thus far.   The lack of understanding is the reason that the Trump is failing, he hopes New York will comes up Aces for him, its fun time in the Big Apple. 

Sanders on the ROLL - Election 2016

The Sanders vs. Clinton fight is a FAKE, the HRC campaign has tied up the race, it can be expected that HRC will win big in New York and will gain more super delegates.   The Democratic Party needs the fake reality of a race as to keep the press interested, otherwise it would be Trump that or Trump this.    If your clever you have ditched watching the Dem race, the real race is the Republican side, can Trump reach 1237 delegates, if he can he is the nominee, IF not then the Republican Establishment will make the rules that any else can win the race.   The only problem that HRC has is BIll, can she keep the big dog on a lead. 

What is a Contested Convention ? - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

The delegates are bound in the first ballot to the candidate that was chosen by their State and after that its open season on getting the delegates to chose the nominee.   That why Trump being rich comes in to play, if the Campaign is any good it will have files on each delegate and what they would expect should they become unbound after the 1st ballot.   That type of political operation takes years of being in the field and a LOT of money.  Overall it might be Trump or someone we have not heard about, that is why a contested convention is fun.

The Democratic race is OVER, its a ghost play now, HRC will get the nomination and every one knows that, it just depends when Sanders leaves the race.   On the Republican side its a real race, if Trump does not get to the majority of 1,237 then its a new game, lets recall Trump is a billionaire, that is not to say he will buy the delegates, but he can offer them goodies, golf at his complex or a stay in a Trump Hotel, or a flight on Trump One.   Let's see who is the last man standing at the Convention. 

Wisconsin Result - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

The anti Trump forces and that includes the Republican Establishment has to create more problems for Trump, in New York State the Trump's home State he leads my miles, thus this needs to be cut down, it will take Super Pacs with a lot of money to fund negative TV adverts.   Cruz is not that popular with the Senate Republicans, but its like a choice between shooting yourself and throwing yourself off a cliff, the cliff option is Cruz.    The Democratic race is OVER, it will be Hillary Clinton, lets hope ALL the way to the White House. 

Trump and Wisconsin - Election 2016

CNN - Politics: Reports on the failure of Donald Trump to gain support in Wisconsin and his constant attacks on Governor Walker, a Republican, the article notes the following, " Trump's decision to repeatedly attack Walker has angered large portions of the party base and left many political analysts dumbfounded. Despite his early exit from the national contest, the governor remains an immensely popular figure among Wisconsin Republicans...."

Lets Get Real:

IN politics you do not burn future allies, after Governor Walker got out of the Republican race the Trump Campaign should have tried to get a peace deal and the support of the Governor, the Campaign should have stated that Walker was up for VP if Trump become the nominee.    In one thing Trump has said that is TRUE, he is a new pol, he is new to the game, but he is a rich pol. he should have hired the best staff and after winning a few States and made less critical remarks about Walker and other subjects.  Thus this blog ends up supporting Cruz in Wisconsin, it is  a odd World. 

Trump BURN OUT!! - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

The quick victory that both Trump and Clinton wanted has been delayed by the stubborn opposition of Cruz and Kasich on the Republican side, and Senator Sanders in the Democratic case.   The Dem race is an illusion, Clinton will be the nominee, the Sanders campaign is just a fly in the Clinton web, it does not matter in the long term.   This can not be said of the Republican side, the very FACT that Cruz and Kasich staying in the race means that Trump might not get the majority he needs before the Republican Convention.  If Trump can not win on the first ballot then the delegates can vote for whom they like, thus Trump could LOSE.   How will the Trump cope with losing, he faces that prospect in Wisconsin on Tuesday, its not how lead that shows character but how you lose and how you react.

The above are wise words by the prospective Democrat Nominee Hillary Clinton, it shows why this blog is supporting HRC for the Oval Office.    NATO is required as to allow its members to know if it they attacked then the members will fight as one.  The Trump argument comes down to money, well if you want to be the leader of the Western World, it costs, and the US has lead the West since the end of World War 2.   One hopes the American voters are wise and elect HRC for the Oval, a Trump or Cruz Presidency would be a disaster for the US and the West.

How far in to the gutter can the US elections go, twittering about each others wives hitting a new low. The Republicans are making fools of themselves and helping the Democrats in the long term, the Democrats opposition research do not need to work that hard, the Republicans are giving them policy points to hit, Trump with his University, Cruz disliked by all of the Senate.  The debate should be of a higher tone, this is hardly the Kennedy vs. Nixon debates.   The Democrats on the whole have not gotten in to the gutter, good for them, who would have thought that Democrats could do this well, all they need to do now is keep the big dog under guard, no more comments about the last 8 years being bad.  The big dog is Bill Clinton, he has lost some of his political magic. 

The Republican Delegate Count - Election 2016

Telegraph: Reports that Donald Trump has 621 delegates, while Senator Cruz has 396 and finally Governor Kasich has 138.

Lets Get Real:

There has been discussion on the news networks that you could see joint ticket between Cruz and Kasich or even a Cruz and Rubio with the Rubio delegates supporting Cruz at the Republican Convention.   It looks like that Trump will not be able to reach a majority of the delegates and his recent remarks that there could be riots is troubling.   The question is what will the Republican Establishment do, if they have any power, if this blog recalls the delegates have to vote for the candidate who won their State in the first round, if no candidate has a majority then the delegates are free to vote for someone else.   One can see the lawyers coming in to this, fun if a political nightmare for the Republicans and fun for the Democrats. 

Trump says there could be riots if he is not the Republican Nominee - Election 2016

Guardian - US Politics Live: Reports the following comments by Donald Trump should he be denied the Republican nomination in its 4.18pm post, " If we’re 20 votes short or if we’re you know 100 votes, and we’re at 1,100 and somebody else is at 500 or 400, cause we’re way ahead – I don’t think you can say we don’t get it automatically, I think you’d have riots,” Trump said...“I’m representing a tremendous, many many millions of people... If you disenfranchise those people, I think you would have problems like you’ve never seen before. I think bad things would happen. I wouldn’t lead it – but I think bad things would happen.” 

Lets Get Real:

IF one was a cynic one could say the above is a threat to repeat what what happened to the Democrats in 1968.  It is these kind of remarks that make this blogger want to buy a second hand nuclear bunker, one sometimes get the feeling that Trump would get the West in to a WAR within six months, while it would only take Cruz six weeks.   As stated in previous post the general election phase is on, thus given the choice this blog will try to spin for HRC, its hard, she is not a great candidate. The Trump Campaign has moved to the general election phase with an advert that has HRC barking, yes she did park at one event, that is why its hard to spin for her, at least she will not cause a WAR with a six months, a scandal of some short yes, but that is the Clintons.
