This is pointless by the US Navy, as the article notes this is in response to an Iranian attempt to shoot at a US Navy vessel.  These strikes do not win the War and help Trump in political terms before the Mid Terms in November! It has been postulated that Iran will increase these attacks before November, they hope to hit a US Navy ship, they want to pull a Tet offensive of 1968 but at sea.  Trump has blundered in to the Iran War and won't follow through, it needs ground troops in Kharg Island, otherwise Trump is big loser.

President Trump has been honest about this, there will be casualties, a lot more.  WAR is hell, there have been friendly fire incidents, 6 piolts had to bail out, they are secure the US Defence Department has stared.  Israel has attacked Hezbollah in Lebanon after they fired at Israel, US and Israel have to win this WAR, for the safety of the World.

Former VP Cheney Dies - Bush 43 Era

VP Richard Cheney was a giant of US politics, Deputy Chief and later Chief of Staff to President Ford after the Watergate scandal had bought down Richard Nixon, a Congressman who was a Reagan foot solider in the Congress, defended Reagan during the Iran - Contra scandal, Defence Secretary to Bush 41, was a key character in Gulf War 1, and later VP to Bush 43, and bought political weight to the Republican ticket, Cheney and was firm supporter of the Iraq War.  The close relationship between the VP and POTUS took a hit due to peace disaster that was Iraq, also Bush 43 would not pardon Scooter Libby for breaking the law, in fact Trump in one of the first things he did was the Oval was to pardon Libby.  This did not help with the frosty non relationship between Cheney and Trump.  The former VP voted for VP Harris in 2024.

On this issue this blog will give Trump 47 some benefit of the doubt, if his history is a bit Putin in content, in other words WRONG.   The US won in the First Gulf War, it removed Iraq from Kuwait, in the 2nd Gulf War the US won the War but lost the peace in Iraq, the failure in Afghanistan was down to President Biden and his obsession with getting out, on the other hand, the US had been in Afghanistan for over 20 years and the Kabul Government fell over the weekend, the Saigon Government survived for two and half years before falling in 1975, and that was the fault of the Democrats in the US, who would not fund a rescue package.   Thus the far in the 2nd Trump term, the US has not gone to war, just the be the lap dog to Putin. 

51% Disapproval for POTUS = Rasmussen

Rasmussen Reports: Reports that President Obama has a 51% Disapproval rating, while 48% of likely voters approve of the job performance of POTUS. Well the bounce from the death of OBL seems to be on the decline folks, the problem is that President Obama went from the death of OBL to talk about immigration, an issue that rouses passion and can lose Obama moderate and independent voters. As noted by this blog and may commentators, a bounce can go quick, Bush 41 won a War and was out on his ear a year later. Also unemployment is still at 9%, while those first time jobless is still to high to bring the rate down. As the Clinton Election Campaign stated it’s the “ Economy Stupid ”.

Cameron in Egypt

This is an interesting move by the PM, this will make headlines around the world, really puts him on the international stage, the Oval must have been informed, what will they think, Obama has been very quiet about Libya and took his time over Egypt. The message by Mr Cameron to Egypt has been Democracy, this will go down well the left wing media, but also allow the PM to upstage the White House. The PM is next off to Kuwait.

Time to Decide Mr President - Afghanistan

The Washington Post: Reports that the Obama West Wing wants to change the military strategy from Afghanistan to Pakistan. In essence no more troops for Afghanistan, they want to sell out Afghanistan as they have sold out Poland and the Czech Republic. This is why Democrats are never trusted on national security issues, if Obama follows this route he is throwing Afghanistan to the dogs, in other words the Taliban. The idea that you can deal with Pakistan at the exclusion of Afghanistan shows no understanding of counterinsurgency, if you sell out Afghanistan then who in the region is going to trust an Obama Administration. What of the costs in lives and treasure that Afghanistan has cost so far, was it pointless, is the Just War that Obama wanted to fight no longer a Just War. I must admit a line from Lady Thatcher comes to mind, after Iraq invaded Kuwait, Lady Thatcher told Bush 41 not to wobble. It seems that the political operators in the Obama West Wing are in different stages of wobble. If Obama sells out Afghanistan he will be the next Neville Chamberlain, he has already sold out Poland and Czech Republic over missile defence, one can postulate that Israel will seen President Obama as weak and thus take military action against Iran. All actions have consequences lets see if Obama can see beyond his own arrogance.
