The New House Speaker - Speaker Ryan

Lets Get Real:

The problem was that Speaker Boehner made to many deals with the Oval Office and these deals were seen as negative by the Conservative members of the House.  Thus this is the chance of Speaker Ryan to take the fight to President Obama and the Democrats, if need be closed down the government, make the Democrats the issue, the liberal elite press always give a pass to Obama, well the Republicans should go after the welfare state in the US, its is costing trillions and the US can no longer afford it,  the US has to CUT welfare, the Democrats will fight, they need BIG GOVERNMENT, well lets see what happens when the Country does not fall apart if the government closes down.   Time for action, time for Republicans to be Republicans, not lighter Democrats.  Lets hope Speaker Ryan gets the message. 

Ex CLINTON STAFFER pleads the FTH - Election 2016

This development does not bring good news to the CLINTON PR machine.   Any time someone pleads the 5TH it gives the wrong impression, and the Republicans will milk this for all its worth.    One has to why the ex staffer would plead the 5th, the Democrats have started to cover for the staffer, but once its on the news it does not look good.  One is wondering when VP Biden will enter the race.  He could become the Democrat Mr Clean.   Interesting days in Clinton land. 

President Obama/ Iran and the US Congress - Iran Crisis

Lets Get Real:

The power of the Oval Office wiltes are you get closer to an election, also President Obama is not running, as they said in the last season of the West Wing, the President is searching for a legacy, something that he can point as a historical success, thus Obama has taken Cuba off the terrorist watch list and has given Tehran everything it wants if your give believe Tehran.  The Regime in Iran has a very different picture to the US/Iran deal that does the Obama Oval, they have stated that sanctions will be lifted once the deal is singed, and that the UN can not check military sites for any banned nuclear material.   Either Obama is telling the truth with the paper he gave out or he has allowed himself to believe something that was not agreed by Tehran.   The Dems running in 2016 are not going to place their political futures in the hands of Tehran, they want a firm document that is signed by both sides that allow the UN to take over most of the nuclear sites in Iran and keep it under watch, otherwise this whole process has been a major waste of time.

It is nice that President Obama will allow the US Congress to vote on the Iran deal, yes that is meant to be funny, if Obama played poker he could use this with the Tehran Regime, tell them to get a good deal with him or the US Congress will impose tougher sanctions on Iran.   Of course one would postulate that the Israeli Lobby has been out in force to remind both House and Senate members that they need money for the 2016 Election, thus expected to support the US Congress having its say on the Tehran deal.   It will be interesting to see how the House and Senate Democrats play Iran, do they want to trust their political careers to Iran, Obama will be out of Office in 2017, he has nothing to lose, he is seeking a legacy, it started with Cuba and now Iran.    The problems is that the deals that Obama has cut are weak and rubbish.  Think Neville Chamberlain on steroids.   In these deals the winners are Cuba and Iran.  

The US Voter and the Clinton Emails - 2016 Race

CNN - Politics: Reports on a new poll that looks at the email scandal and the results for Hillary Clinton in 2016, the poll finds, " Overall, 51% in the poll call Clinton's use of a personal email system rather than a government provided one a very or somewhat serious problem, 48% say it's not too serious an issue or no problem at all. And the public is similarly split over whether Clinton did something wrong by using the personal system; 51% say she did, 47% that she did not. "

Lets Get Real:

The political game for the Republicans is to make sure that Hillary Clinton's poll ratings decline over a long term period.  The Clinton Campaign needs a way to get over this issue, also for there to be no surprises in the deleted Clinton emails.   It can be postulated that House Select Committee will go to Court to get the Clinton server, the Clintons if they have nothing to hide should allow the server to be seen by a third party, the problems start should the drive not be as clean as the Clinton Campaign states.  If there are any emails that concern Libya and have not been turned over to the State Department the Clinton Campaign is OVER, of course this fight could go on for months, the Clintons should not want that, the negative stories will carry on, the Democrats will get fed up cleaning up after the Clintons, then there is the fact that HRC will appear before Congress twice, one to discuss her email and then Libya.   The we get close to people voting in the nomination process, great if your a Republican, not so if your a Democrat, the email scandal will not go away, it will become a cancer on the Clinton Campaign.

Thus it starts, the House Select Committee has found that there are months of missing emails from the Clinton email archive.  The questions will start, what is the former Secretary of State hiding about her role in the Libyan deaths, or more of fact, what she did not do to save the life of the US Ambassador to Libya.   The Republicans are smelling blood in the water, other Democrats and the White House are getting distance from the Clinton Camp.   The Clintons need to come out fighting, they know how to do that well, they need new talking points, they need to scan all the emails, make sure none are missing, if they are missing better get the story out now, not during the general election.   One can expect a Democrat might try his luck with ALL this email scandal, the Democrats need a Mr or Ms Clean when it comes to political baggage.   The Clintons should worry about having to appear before Congress, its Republican held, even the Clintons can not refuse to go before Congress.   There is more to this story, a daily development.

If President Obama does use his veto pen the US voter will know that the Oval Office has decided to rule as a extreme left winger for the last two years of his Administration.   The Keystone pipeline is supported by the Unions, but Obama is more interested in keeping the green lobby happy.   The Republican Congress should use political payback, stall ALL Obama nominees in till the Oval will deal.   The Oval thinks its is a King, time to show that Obama he is equal to the rest of Congress not above it, time for Chicago political payback.

This blog noted that the Republicans should not give any gifts to the Democrats, this move to block Obama's immigration moves is just such a gift, any threat to the funding of Homeland Security can be argued is a gift to the terrorists.  The Republicans are not on to a winner with their views on immigration, this would have been a perfect way to fund the changes and for the GOP to argue that national security is more important that immigration issues.   Never have an issue that is a negative and in which you do not not hold an Ace at the back of yours hands.   The Oval Office will argue that any threat to homeland security is a gift to the enemy, and they are right.   Thus the Oval Office wins by default. 

The Republicans in Control of Congress Today - 2nd Term Blues

This is the time for the Republicans to show that they can LEAD and are a safe pair of hands, they should not give any gifts to the Democrats.    The 1st thing out of the gates should be the Keystone XL pipeline, make the Democrats and the Oval Office kill off a job creation plan.  If the Oval does Veto make the Democrats in the Senate and House vote to support the veto.  These are the kind of issues to stuff down the throat of Democrats.   When it comes to ObamaCare, the Republicans should destroy it from within, a bit a the time, keep it alive as it gives votes to Republicans votes, it should be a great shark, eating ObamaCare while it breathes.   Politics can be fun. 

The Democratic Split, Obama vs. Warren Liberals - 2nd Term Blues

In this Budget fight we have seen the split between liberal Democrats lead by Senator Warren and the White House.   The Obama Oval will have to deal with a Republican House and Senate next year, if the Obama White House was less liberal it could see this as a chance to make some domestic gains that would look good for President Obama and the Republican Congress, such as tax reform, and immigration reform, but these would reforms would not go down well with Democrats, thus we shall see if the Obama Oval can use this success for further deals next year, a smart Chicago pol like President Obama could make his last two years a success, lets see if the Oval will take this chance.   The liberal left is looking for Senator Warren to be heir leader and their candidate in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, thus more division within the Democratic Party. 

The US Senate and the 1.1 Trillion Budget - 2nd Term Blues

Lets Get Real:

This should get through the US Senate, the Democrats who have the majority at present want to push it through before they hand over to the Republicans.   The Bill will fund the US Government in till September.   In that time the Republicans can go after the Obama Agenda.   They can start by making it harder for the Oval to get the Attorney General it wants, and then down the line to the Judges.   On the Foreign Policy front as stated a select committee in to Libya, the rise of IS in Iraq and Syria.   A Senate Committee is harder to spin, people will be under oath.   Fun times for Republicans next year. 

The US Budget - 2nd Term Blues

Lets Get Real:

The Republicans need to pass this, it funds the US Government in till later next year, then when the Republicans take control of the Senate in January they can go after the Obama Administration.   The first thing the new Republican Congress should do is disown the US Senate Torture Report, revoke the security pass of its outgoing Chairwoman.   Then censure all the Democrats who supported the move in the first place.   Then the Republicans in the Senate need to set up a select committee in to Libya.   The story still stinks from the Obama Administration.    Then over the next two years the Republicans should fight the Oval over ObamaCare, let it wither on the vine under President Obama. Make the last two years of the Obama Administration hell on earth. 

The Boehner Two Step - Immigration

Fox News:  Reports on moves by Speaker Boehner to get support for a budget but without funding the new Obama rules, the article notes the following, " The House would vote later this week for a largely symbolic measure disapproving Obama's executive actions......The plan would fund most elements of the government for the remainder of the current fiscal year, which ends Sept. 30, 2015. But, under one proposal, it would only fund immigration-related activities until early next year "

Lets Get Real: 

The above Boehner plan should allow Conservative Republicans to blow off steam when it comes to immigration and set a battle for early next year when the Republicans control the Congress.   Of course there has been talk of shutting down the US Government and only funding social security and defence, that comes with risks for the Republican nominee for President in 2016.   Of course if the candidate is Jeb Bush he could argue that he is a moderate and thus fighting extreme right on his side and the left on the Democratic side, not sure such a wise plan would work in this 24/7 news world.   It depends how far the Republicans want to take this, this blog has argued that the Republicans should out do Obama, offer faster way for those illegals in the US to become citizens,   It logical because it going to happen, might as well get the credit for it, and its the right thing to do, the US is not going to break up millions of families to make a point.   The Gipper would not have approved.  If they Republicans really want to fight, they should wait in till next year, when they control the Congress,

Revenge is best served cold, thus the Republicans should wait in till they control the Senate in January, then make the Oval pay, the Congress then should shut down, only pass laws it wants and force Obama to veto them, the laws should repeal ObamaCare, cut taxes, and increase defence spending, then place the pressure on the Oval to either sign or  veto them.  Make President Obama the issue.    As of January the Oval will not have the shield of the US Senate in the hands of the Democrats.   Also the new Senate should increase tough investigations of the Obama Administration, with Committees to look at the assassination of the US Ambassador in Libya, the use of the NSA to bug everyone, rake through ALL the Obama scandals, the Senate should not pass a single Obama pick to join his Administration.  Political pain is best served with constant investigations, AND all under Oath. 

Funding of the New War in Iraq and Syria

This new Obama plan for Syria is NOT going to work, those in the House and the Senate know it will not work and even if it worked there is a great chance that the battlefield will look different by the time US had trained the Syrian rebels.    This move by the House is getting the US further in to the Wars in Syria, thus far the Oval has not attacked Syria, how many beheaded Americans does it take, for the Oval to understand that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs understands better than the Oval, in open remarks the Chairman stated that Military Advisors could be part of any attacks on IS.  Also if the Obama plan fails there will be the need for ground troops.   The Congress will come back to this issue, after the Mid Terms.   This smells like Vietnam all over again. 

The Gaza Update - Middle East Crisis

The Israeli Government can not allow this to go on forever, the security of Israel its very life is under threat, the terrorists in Gaza must be taken down one way or another, what if Hamas gets its hands on WMD and uses that in its rockets, they would be fools of course, as Israel would wipe Gaza from the face of the earth, but then logic and terrorists do not go together.   The only Democracy in the Middle East Israel has to protect itself, the US under Obama is hopeless, its only good is to stop any moves in the UN, the US Congress is supportive of Israel, the members want the money from Israeli supporters.   Those on the left that are critical of Israel do not have to live in the backyard of Israel, thus THE people of Israel must demand that its Government finish this threat once and for all, TIME TO ACT.

Hillary Clinton and Benghazi - The 2016 Race

If you think that Benghazi IS the reason that Hillary Clinton will run in 2016 your to far gone for this blog, your a mindless LIBERAL.   The ONE reason that Clinton might not run is because of Libya.  While the Clinton book will be supported by the liberal press the agenda is not in the control of Clinton or the press in many respects, there is House Select Committee that will bring Hillary before it, lets see how she really copes under pressure, it might come to  a choice defending herself or throwing Obama under the bus, lets not be fools here, we know the Clintons, if it means that Bill and Hillary are back in the Oval they will what ever it takes, even if it means sending Obama to join Jimmy Carter as one of the US's major failures as President.   The liberal press will try to cover for Hillary, but there is Fox News and the House, they could still cause major damage to the Clintons, this story is far from over, its long time in till 2017. 

The US Congress vs. Oval over Afghan Deal - 2nd Term Blues

It seems that President Obama has taken the notion of an Imperial Presidency to his  head, he thinks because he has two years left he can do what ever he wants and any political blowback does not matter.   The Democrats on the Hill beg to differ, they face elections in November with a President who is not that popular, also they are worried at losing the Senate and what happens in 2016 should a Republican win, if they do not fight the Oval NOW a future President might followo the Obama example and break as many laws as he or she wants to meet their aims.   Thus expect more conflict between the Oval and the Hill, the Oval thinks the Hill is a nightmare now, wait if the Republicans take the Senate, then the Oval will know what political hell really feels like.  Those Mid terms are coming around the corner. 

The Vets Scandal - 2nd Term Blues

CNN - Politics: Reports " According to the sources, at least 40 American veterans died in Phoenix while waiting for care at the VA there. "

Lets Get Real:

This has become a major scandal for President Obama, and shown his weakness when it comes to management, the problems in the VA start before the Obama Presidency, but during the run for his 1st term as President, Obama stated on many occasions that looking after the Vets was a major concern for him, one assumes that the Campaign Staff did not think that this would come to bite them on the backside.   The fact that House and Senate Democrats are calling for heads to roll should make it easy for the Oval to sack people, but so far Obama has not moved, he must still be reading the IG report.   Lets be clear this blog is no fan of President Obama, but one has to be objective, the problems started well before he become President, he did not think it was this level of a disaster when he made numerous speeches on the subject.   The Oval hates to sack people, in that Obama has the same problem as Reagan.   The difference is that President Reagan had Nancy Reagan, in the end people were let go by President Reagan, the press dogs had the heads they wanted, who is that close to President Obama.   Every POTUS needs a Nancy Reagan or a Robert Kennedy, take the bark off during a crisis. 

Kerry on Benghazi - 2nd Term Blues

Lets Get Real:

It will be interesting to see how much Secretary Kerry covers for Hillary Clinton and President Obama, he was not Secretary of State at the time, thus does not have an interest in covering for either with the exception that they are both Democrats, and President Obama is his boss, thus some cover for Obama, the main question that the Committee should ask is why it took so long for the State Department and the Administration to hand over non redacted memos, such as the one that stressed from the White House that Ambassador RIce push the narrative that it was down to the video that the US Libyan Consulate was attacked.   The Democrats on the whole will want to protect Hillary Clinton and her run for 2016, interesting days ahead on the Hill.
