The Russians again, they fired on the UK Yacht because the UK took one of their shadow tankers, they carry sanction oil.  The UK will have to Dress down the Russian Ambassador, and take more shadow tankers, and make it clear to Russia, our ships can fire back in our Waters.  The Russian bears needs its claws clipped, it has been in the Ukraine, the British Lion needs to show its claws.

The King and Queen's visit to the US - Update

The King and Queen will have a thankless task of fixing the Special Relationship, in between Trump and Starmer it has been fraid beyond repair.  The King and Queen will do a good job, one hopes against experienced that Trump will behave himself, no insults about our Army, the Royal Navy, the Foreign policy of Sir Keir Starmer, ot his thoughts about the Duke of Sussex! It will be interesting to see if European Nations will put their Navies at risk.  Starmer will need the US for the Ukraine, Kyiv needs US security guarantees with its fight with Russia, does Europe want to carry the whole load, Trump still has 3 years in office,  NATO needs the US.

The Trump Administration started this war without Allies, at Bush 43 had the UK and others in the Iraq War.  The Strait of Hormuz should have been planned for, of course Iran was going to block it, that is their main asset, the US Chief of Staff should have planned for blocking of oil.  The UK these days does not have the ships to lose to a drone or mine strike.  The US should do it first, like in late 1980s.  If it works, then we can come in.  This will shaft the Ukraine, Trump is a transactional politican, in other words you scratch my back and I will scratch yours, political decisions are tough, on thus UK PM is right at this moment.

In other words Trump knows that the Strait of Hormuz is very dangerous with Iranian mines and Drones, he does not want to risk the US Navy and military personnel before the Mid Terms, it only takes one lucky strike from Iran to really hurt the Royal Navy and Starmer would be finished, like Chamberlain after Norway campaign.  The UK should support the US, its our oil prices that are going up, also let's get the French involved, they have an aircraft Carrier in the Middle East.

This idea that the Royal Navy and others to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has come from Trump yesterday, these days Iran has smart Drones, unlike during the Iraq - Iran war of the 1980. This idea should be tested first with US ships, the UK should back them up if it works.  The UK does not have many ships to lose! We don't have admirals any more!

Sir Keir Starmer should jump at this, and not dither, the UK and other Countries need the oil, the price of  a barrel of oil has gone up to a $100 dollars, that means people pay more at oil garages, the Royal Navy to the rescue again.

Update: After listening to a Sky News defence analyst, this blog thinks we should get the French to supports us, the Tehran Regime has cheap and intelligent Drones that can hit tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, the Royal Navy alone can't do the heavy lifting alone!

This is about time, its embarrassing being British with our lack action at sea.  The RAF has done an excellent job defending our Gulf Allies.  The aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, it seems won't be going to the Middle East, Greenland is seen as being under threat from the Americans and Russia.  Sir Keir Starmer has let the UK down, the special relationship between the UK and the US is in threads due to the need of keeping Sir Keir conscious in the clear! The man is in wrong job. Let's hope he does not  need the US when it comes to the Ukraine, this blog can guess the reaction, it won't be good.

The most important thing is to get our people out, that no one is hurt in the Sudan, if our troops are fired upon they must shoot back, it does not matter who shoots, they must be taken out.  This is a risky operation there could be thousands of UK Subjects in the Sudan, the US has been very quiet, is POTUS more worried about his announcement that he is running again for the Oval Office. One hopes the US and the UK are working together and not mounting separate operations.  There are risk, but a UK passport should mean something, in the old days of Empire, we would have sent a gunboat up there to tell the people to calm down or face the wrath of the British Navy.   Our Royal Navy is much limited know and the only real threat that would be taken as a REAL THREAT would be the Americans.  Where are the Yanks when you need them.

The Russians are not helping themselves with their international image, they will make people starve in Africa and the Middle East.  Putin has allowed his illegal invasion of the Ukraine to turn Russian Soldiers in to WAR CRIMINALS, they have murdered people and raped women, the Kremlin has no control of over its troops.  The manpower level is SO BAD in the occupied areas of the Ukraine that the Kremlin has hired mercenaries and called up prisoners from jail.  The WAR CRIMES committed by the Russians will take years to go through, and then we come to the suggestion that the Russians will use a dirty bomb in the Ukraine to makeup for their failure on the battleground.  The UN and the West should draw a line over the stropping of grain going from the Ukraine, the West should place their own Navies to protect the grain, and dare the Russians to ACT.  Putin is a shame on Russia and the Russian troops have shown by their actions that they are WAR CRIMINALS.

One really has to hope that Putin does not really believe that if he had sunk the British vessel there would be no conflict, any attack on a NATO country would lead to a military crisis, no one wants WAR with Russia, as the Gipper said his Diaries, the Russians have nothing we want.  But a Russian attack on any UK or US Ship could lead the US and the UK to go to Defcon 1 and the Warsaw Pact no longer exists.  Any Russian action would start with the Baltic States and Ukraine, as the Baltic States are part of NATO, the West would have to react and react in a swift manner, even POTUS would not be allowed to appease Putin. The UK Government should remind the FRENCH that Sir Winston Churchill sank the French fleet during World War 2 as to prevent it being taken by the Germans.  The UK should send a aircraft Carrier to solve the issue, any FRENCH BOATS that block UK ships should be confiscated and the sailors sent home by airplane.   Paris is seeking to  regain some of the rights that it lost with the agreement between the EU and London.   The UK PM can not be blackmailed by the FRENCH, they need to be taught a LESSON the hard way, after the sailors are taken from their ships and they are empty the Royal Navy should consider sinking them, that would be a FIRM LESSON to the French.

It can be postulated that the thwarting by the Royal Navy of Iran from taking a UK commercial tanker will lead Tehran to try such an operation again, also with the arrest of the Captain and Chief Officer of the tanker taken in Gibraltar will lead Iran to try and save face and taking a UK tanker or UK personnel.  Also Tehran is on the way to getting the bomb, as stated by this blog and may others, that will not be allowed to happen, thus one can expect Saudi Arabia and Israel to start having off the table talks about taking joint action, my enemy of enemy is my friend as the old saying goes.  One gets the feeling that the Gulf is on a slow burn to something happening, the question is when will someone go to far, when will that unofficial red line be passed, something has to give.
