The post-mortem of a failed Presidential run is more fun, defeat has a hundred fathers and winning one has the Candidate who wins and listened to his son as to whom is COOL in the podcast age, Trump gave three hours to the top podcaster in the US, the Harris Campaign turned him down, they were only willing to give him a hour.   Thus the podcaster endorsed Trump.  That 3 hours was time well spent.   The VP did not give herself licence to distance herself from President Biden, on the tv show THE VIEW, she could not think of one thing that she would do differently that Biden even Afghanistan, even LBJ's VP broke with him on Vietnam, and came very close to winning.   The issue of abortion didn't sell itself to older women, they were more concerned about the cost of weekly bills, the Democrats hoped that as before abortion would bring women on a large scale to vote for Harris.  As the article states, it barely moved the needle.   This blog suggested that she say she would only do one term, it would show she was different form Biden, or she could resigned the Vice - Presidency, and ran opposed to Biden, one assumes she liked Air Force 2 to much.  The Democrats need to back their roots, the working class, not Graduates, not everyone has a degree.   The American family want a strong leader, not that someone that breaks glass ceilings for women, hard to hear but its important.  The Democrats need to go back to their nomination process in Iowa AND New Hampshire, not rig the process at they did for Biden in 2020, let the voters see what the Democrats are offering, 2026 not far away, after the Mid Terms in 2026, Democratic candidates should start to visit Iowa and NH.   The American election process in endless.  That is Democracy at WORK.

CNN is underplaying its own POLL, the liberal network must have spent a penny on the poll, this why they are not trusted, CNN has been fawning on Harris since Biden withdrew form the race, they helped put the political knifes in to Biden.   Thus far this blog has not made its mind up for either supporting or opposing Harris.   It is matter of policies, in this case Gaza and the Ukraine, this blog is firm supporting for Israel and the Ukraine.   The VP cannot just go on and on about abortion all the time, there is to more than government than that, the Republicans have not defined her yet, she still has time.  The debates between Harris and Trump will be interesting, she is by trade a prosecutor, Trump will be the best crook she has ever gone after, and the hardest to send back to Trump Tower. The VP should not get ready for the Oval yet, this is a first poll and the liberal CNN and other networks and papers have been total covered of her, she has a rather good line in attack, the Prosecutor vs the Crook, she will need  more than that, wait till the Republicans go on the attack on the Battleground States, recall its not the popular vote that counts but the Electoral College vote, to show this example, the REAL CLEAR POLITICS Average of the polls is as follows, " Trump 47.5%, Harris 45.9% ".  Also the VP has to choose her own VP, it would be advisable to get a military figure, as suggested, to give the ticket some heft.  The Americans voters vote for the future, so abortion is good, but recall half the Country does not support to liberal abortion laws also gun control, but that has to be careful, Americans love their guns.   So far so good by the VP, lets see her views on Gaza and the Ukraine, also she has a day job, she is the VP of the United States, and President Biden might have been removed by a Democratic Coup, but he still President, he wont allow Harris to go off the Biden reservation to much, he still has a few moths go.  The President will give a speech on Wednesday, you only have once chance to make a last impression, this is for the history books.

Donald Trump has made a political decision, he knows he will not win in less he can get the women of the suburbs to VOTE FOR HIM, the Democrats have made it  clear that they will use abortion as major issue in the 2024 race, thus Trump is going half way, leaving it up to the States, those women in the Suburbs have the money to Liberal States for an abortion, but also states he supports exceptions, this is aimed at poor women.  As a CNN report stated, the left will not be happy, they want abortion on demand, while the right want to ban abortion.   The polls over the next few days will be interesting, will it cost Trump or get him more support.

Just to say if either Trump or DeSantis are the Republican nominees for President this blog will support POTUS for re - election in 2024.  That being said, one has to worry can Biden get through the election process and will he last for another four years, the Presidency made Obama look old by the end, so the question has to be asked does Biden have gas in the tank for another four years.   The question has to be asked, is a Biden vote really a vote for VP Harris to take over at some point after 2024 and her poll numbers are worse than those for POTUS.   If the Republicans nominate someone normal, e.g a Reagan Republican who will defend the Ukraine and allow some legal abortion bill to become law, then this blog will support that candidate, does not matter if its Donald Duck, this blog will taken anyone but Trump or DeSantis.  The fall by POTUS today should make the Democrats think about nominating someone else for 2024.

The problem that Democrats have is a President who cannot say the word abortion, let's recall that Biden is Roman Catholic, thus his political statements might be opposed to his actual fundamental BELIEF, thus those on the left of the Democratic Party will have to take up the issue and run with it in November.  The far LEFT Democrats make this blogger's skin crawl, the usual suspects will come out of the wood work.  This blog is for abortion ON demand, but those leading the charge seem more obsessed with issue than the real problems faced by poor women and those that have been dealt with the issue based on a criminal consequence, thus one does wish that the Democrats have LEADERS who really care, that is not just a issue for them to use in their political fight.  Today is a major day for the US, one does wish the US Supreme Court would have made a different outcome, thus the issue goes back to the States.  The Founding Fathers might have agreed with that outcome.

This is a major mistake by the US Supreme Court, its takes the right of abortion away form WOMEN, as this blog has argued on this issue, the matter should only be discussed by the WOMEN and her Doctors, and that the US should have abortion on demand.  Its the women that are left with the baby should the man do a runner, thus they must decide of they want a baby.  The US Constitution was written in the 18th Century, and the drafters had no idea on the progress of safe abortion, to take it away after 50 years is a injustice, it throws away years of legal opinion. The Democrats need to weaponize this issue, otherwise they will be toast in the November when the US has its Mid Terms, the problem is that US ideas have a way of migrating to other Countries, thus Europe must protect the rights to abortion and the Democrats have to fight back, its a tough debate and it will take years to get the right balance and choice for American Women.

Those that read this blog know its opinion on Americans having guns, they should not have them, only the Police and State Forces should have them.  The gun crime in the US is out of control.  The New York Law stated that those with guns should have proper cause to carry them in public, that looks like a very sane law.  One can only hope that when the Democrats start winning more Presidential Elections that they can appoint LIBERAL Judges to the Supreme Court, or the US Congress should pass new tougher gun laws.  For that to happen, the Democrats must have middle of the road candidate not far out liberals.  One really has to worry about abortion rights now, how far will the Court go on that, we await their decision.

Thus expect the Democrats and the liberal elite press to run with this story in till the Supreme Court releases its final view in June or early July.  One would consider that because there has been a LEAK, then the Court should acting in a faster manner, otherwise there will be MORE LEAKS, that is the last thing the US Supreme Court needs.  If the US Supreme Court does negate Roe v Wade then as stated the Conservative States will move to ban abortion in ALL CASES, while Liberal States such as New York and California will have abortion on demand.  This blog has for years supported abortion on demand, that might even be to liberal for some liberals in the US, as this blog sees this is a matter of political faith, the Government should not be telling women when and if they can have a abortion, in most cases they are poor and cannot afford to have a child or due to criminal action they have suffered they have a child, thus its up to the woman and her Doctor to decide.  The Democrats will demagogue the issue in till November Mid Terms, and the results could clear the issue of  Biden's chances in 2024. And to think Biden is a good Roman Catholic but supports abortion, a demagogue as President Reagan stated in his diaries.

The US Supreme Court would be committing a great error to overturn Roe v Wade, it is the most Classical Liberal ACT, as in the most Conservative, it places the decision in the hands of the woman and her Doctor.  Thus a individual issue, that is what Conservative should really support, the Court if it does the above, moves the issue in to the political arena, There will be Conservative States that BAN ALL abortion, while Liberal States will have abortion on demand.  Also the Democrats will roll with this issue in the November Mid Terms if the above is the final decision of the US Supreme Court, and Biden should he run in 24 will use this issue against his Republican opponent.   The Republicans should wake up and smell the coffee, the above is bad politics and bad morality.  One hopes they change their minds on this subject.

Let's hope the US Supreme Court holds that abortion is LEGAL and can be done any time up to birth, that would be the real Conservative view, A alt Liberal view would be that the State has the right to decide such matters, this might be the reverse of what you think, the Republican Party has become VERY Liberal on this issue, that the State should decide what goes on between a woman and her Doctor, while Liberals have gone very Conservative, the view being that its a private matter, thus being a TRUE CONSERVATIVE.  Thus throwing labels about is not a great idea is true, the present argument is that Republicans want the STATE to decide what goes on at a abortion clinic, while Liberals see it as a private matter and a right of women to decide such issues.  Abortion is RIGHT and should be protected.

The new Texas Abortion will hit women who can not afford to leave the State, also it targets anyone who helps with an abortion six weeks after conception, thus parents to taxi drivers, it is that broad.  Those lawyers will little ethics will chase clients to get them to sue, they win either way!  The US Congress must ACT and now and not next year, the Democratic House should pass a resolution and the Senate Democrats should fight to get it through.  A woman has a right to an abortion, in cases men do a runner and they are left holding the baby.  Think of the welfare cost if abortions are banned in Texas and the cost in taxes, and more important the morality of preventing a women getting an abortion, its her body, not that of the State.

The Conservative Supreme Justices have not helped the Republicans with this move, NOW the Democrats will have an issue for the 2022 Mid Terms and also there will be a push from the Liberals in the Democratic Party to have the Congress pass a federal law to protect the right of abortion, it will pass the House but will be blocked in the Senate, thus the Democrats will call for the filibuster to be revoked.  The Republican Party is feeding its base with this move, but the base does not win elections, those in the middle who get their news from the liberal press will be directed at one direction, voting Democrat.  Thus bad move from the right in US politics.

The US Supreme Court is showing its Conservative majority in a BAD LIGHT, abortion should be legal and on demand, the Texas law in essence bans abortion, the US Congress as controlled by Democrats should pass a new FEDERAL law that over rules any of the States from taking the same action as Texas.  As true Conservative sees Abortion as a private issue, the Government's role should be limited, to try to STOP abortion the Supreme Court is being VERY LIBERAL.  One hopes the Biden Administration ( Read Biden's Oval reaction to the Texas law ) can get something right and get the US Congress to pass a hasty bill to protect Abortion as a FEDERAL RIGHT as it was from the 1970s onward.

One hopes that the SUPREME COURT follows past cases and rejects the Mississippi law, the right of  a woman to have an abortion is between her and her Doctor.  Conservative Judges if they are really CONSERVATIVE, will follow the Classical Liberal view, that the role of the Government should be limited, one can argue that the Conservatives who oppose abortion are really LIBERALS, they want to allow the STATES to decide on the nature of abortion.   This blog has always SUPPORTED abortion on demand, its a privacy issue, and who wants to see a baby born who is not wanted and can have a negative results for ALL.   If the Supreme Court does restrict abortion one can expect the LIBERAL Democrats in the US Congress to allow abortion on demand, that will really irk so called Conservatives.   The Supreme Court should leave the issue alone, it has been decided.
