The REAL reason Alastair Campbell has been thrown out of the Labour Party is the fact that he was Blair's spin Doctor for the Iraq War, and the extreme LEFT of the Labour Party have been looking for ways to get rid of him since then.   This blog has voted Conservative all of its life, but when it came to the European Elections this blog supported the BREXIT PART, one can be sure AC will be working at the next election for the Labour Party to get elected, this move by Corbyn's Labour Party just causes more conflict for Labour ( if you are Tory that is a good thing ) When the general election comes, and it might come sooner than we think, the voters on the whole will return to their political party of choice.   The OUTCOME of the election will depend on the result of BREXIT.

IF you are a REAL CONSERVATIVE you support abortion on demand, a true Conservative believes in LIMITED GOVERNMENT, the restrictions on abortion is an attempt by Government, either local or Federal to say what they think the boundaries are, while truth  is abortion should take place at any time, if the mother does not want the child, or can not afford to support it, think how how many one parent families there are, and those that can not afford to support themselves.   A true Conservative would support no restrictions and allow the issue to be between the Doctor and the woman.  On this issue men do not have any rights, they do not have to carry the baby for nine months, they do not have to bring it up if the father does a runner.   As a classic liberal, a real Conservative support the selling of drugs on demand, at a lower price than drug runners, thus ending the War on drugs.   It is odd but its liberals are the true Conservatives when it comes to this issue of abortion and drugs.

POTUS is trying to define former VP Joe Biden well before the 2020 General Election, this is the same method used by President Clinton in 1996 against Senator Robert Dole, while Biden has not faced any debates yet, and has to get through the Democratic Primary before he becomes the Democratic Nominee.   Thus the Trump Campaign will throw anything they can at the former VP, he has not helped himself by getting the nickname of Creepy Joe when it comes to WOMEN, also he supported the 1994 Crime Bill, this Act has affected more African - Americans than any other other ethnic group.  Also since 1970s Biden has taking positions that are out of sync with the present Democratic Party, from opposing busing, supporting the Iraq War resolution.   The Democratic Opposition candidates will start to throw Biden's past policy views back at him when CNN does the debate series.  If any of the other Democratic candidates want to shine they have to show they have claws that can be effected against Biden and Trump.   As noted on CNN there are over 500 + plus days  to go before the election.   Thus recall at the start of 2008 and 2016 HRC was meant to take the Crown, she failed twice.

As has been commented on, President Trump seems to enjoy the company of the enemies of the US and not taking them on, thus his relationship with North Korea and Iran.  The Trump Oval is sending mixed messages when it comes to both Iran and North Korea, with Iran the US has sent an aircraft carrier, bombers, a patriot defence system, and extra troops to the region to defend against any action by Iran, while with North Korea the Trump Oval is letting North Korea off even it has shot ballistic missiles in to the Sea of Japan, against a UN resolution, this has been bought up by Trump's national security advisor, while POTUS does not show the same concern or interest.  Who would have thought that the Democrats look more like hawks than doves, that is new for the Democratic Party.  What has happened to the Reagan Republican Party that was strong on national security, it has allowed itself to be taken over by President Trump.   The Gipper must be looking down with a frown on his face, what has Trump done to the US Presidency.

The Labour Party at any time can call a No Confidence vote in the Conservative Party.  If Conservative HARD REMAIN MPs want to bring down the Government, this would be good, then they can be de-selected by their local associations and the Conservative Party can go to the election with flag of a pure BREXIT, and the Party would be united under that banner.   It would be interesting to see Labour MPs in leave areas having to explain why they bought DOWN a Government that wanted a PURE BREXIT, the Conservatives could then gain a overall majority in the House of Commons.   The problem with a minority government is that each MP becomes important, and start to believe their own press statements, that is why the UK works with a majority Government, the usual rebels can be discounted.   The local Conservative Associations should start to de-select HARD REMAIN MPs, and fast in case there is a general election.

The above are a shocking revelation, but it is not new, that the tapes exist was known for some time, if the transcripts of these bugged talks are accurate then the liberal elite will have some tough choices to make.   President Kennedy's post death reputation has been ruined in many respects by the fact that he consistent playboy who never grew up, also the revelation that he had his own intern and what he made her do has not helped.   It is never a good idea to get to close to your hero, they are human, and the King revelations have to be looked at through the mirror of the #MeToo movement.   In needs a respected Academic, not American to listen to the tapes, check if the transcript match what he or she hears, if they do then the transcripts should get a general release, but the actual tapes should not be published, MLK Jr was a great man, a man of peace, a nobel prize winner, all great men come with downsides, he should still be respected for what he did and preached, not his negative human side.  It would be better if the tapes were destroyed, otherwise one knows what will happen, Trump will use them to justify his own actions, not fair, but POTUS does not play fair.

The Conservative MPs who want to win re-election should have a close look at the returns from the European Elections, their election might come under threat from the Brexit Party if they thwart BREXIT.  The new Conservative PM has to make it CLEAR, that only Conservative MPs who support the Government line, of a NO DEAL BREXIT, will be official Conservative candidate, no more pandering to the HARD REMAIN MPs, let them stand as Independent MPs and fun their own campaigns and get staff to support their campaign.  The Conservative Party needs to elect a PM with charisma, who will LEAD, and risk it ALL on doing what the public want, in that he has to take control of the Conservative Party, and make it clear to Conservative Associations that they have to get rid of Conservative MPs who do not support a NO DEAL BREXIT.   De-selection is harsh, but then politics is harsh, one day you are the PM the next day no cares what you think, that is called Democracy.

Wales shows the way, it follows the national trend and supports the BREXIT PARTY.  One hopes, and hope is rare in the BREXIT DEBATE, that the old Parties will come together to get a DEAL.  This is not because they have smelled the coffee after the Euro Elections, but for the believe in DEMOCRACY.  Wales and England voters have shown that they want their will of 2016 followed by the House of Commons, otherwise the Old UK Parties will suffer at the next general election.   The main candidate in the Conservative Leadership contest is Boris Johnson, he wants to take the UK out of the EU by the end of October, deal or no deal, the Conservative MPs who want to win re-election at the next election should support Boris, he knows how to win elections, HARD REMAINERS in the Conservative backbenchers should be de-selected by their local associations, they have LOST THE PLOT.   Wales as in the referendum of 2016 voted to leave, what part of that does the Welsh Assembly not get in CARDIFF, wake up members and support the will of the UK and Welsh voter.

One assumes IRAN has sent word through backchannels that it has gotten the message and will back off, otherwise the US is taking a risk.  The US Intelligence network from the CIA to the NSA will be keeping a close eye on Iran, we are in the 60 day deadline for Iran to start to go nuclear if the UN does not come with a plan to help it avoid US sanctions, also the Intelligence network of Israel, the Mossad will be closely watching the nuclear process in Iran, Jerusalem will not allow Iran to go nuclear, they bombed Iraq in 1981 and Syria in 2007 when these Countries were on the cusp of going nuclear.   The US has to place even tougher sanctions on Iran, make the regime sweat, make the armed forces less well off, also check the terrorist allies of IRAN in the region, time for Trump to find his backbone.

Thus another disastrous speech by PM May on BREXIT, the PM should either have gone for a HARD BREXIT or a HARD REMAIN stand.  The speech in the end please no one and it will lead to her NEW DEAL being defeated in the House of Commons.  After the DEFEAT the PM is expected to resign, she will have served just a bit longer that Gordon Brown, another disastrous PM.  The HARD BREXIT MPs should support a strong candidate who supports the UK getting out of the EU as quick as possible.   In this case it has to be either Johnson or Gove, the fact that Gove has supported the PM might count against him, while Boris Johnson resigned from the Cabinet and has been a fierce critic of PM May.   The Conservatives members want their man in No 10, someone who will use great rhetoric to show how good the UK could be out of the EU.   The Conservative leadership contest should not take weeks, a month would be good enough, a new PM is needed and fast.

PM May has the political instinct of a political dodo, in other words, everything she touches fails or is dead on arrival.   The new deal even offers a new vote on a 2nd Referendum if her agreement is agreed by the House of Commons.  That has annoyed HARD BREXIT supporters and even those loyal to the PM know the game is up.   Why do female PM's lose it by the end, even the great PM, Lady Thatcher was out of touch with her Party and the public mood in 1990, at least the great Iron Lady had 11 years of a record and success, from the domestic and international field.  A recent poll found her to be considered the near the greatest PM since 1945, the top title went to Sir Winston Churchill ( one assumes the snowflake generation think he served after 1945 as PM, he lost that general election but came back in early 1950s as PM.  One writer called it Churchill's Indian Summer )  It is really time for PM May to go, hand in the keys to No 10 to her successor, this blog is supporting Boris Johnson, the Conservatives have to take a risk, otherwise the BREXIT Party will take over from them.   VOTE BREXIT Party in the Euro Elections, send a clear message.

One hopes there are backchannels between the US and Iran, it only needs an accident for all out war to happen between the two.   Even at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 JFK had backchannels with the then USSR.  Of course un-official backchannel might be happening via the Swiss who have dealt with the US and Iran relationship since the revolution in Iran.  The Tehran Regime needs to be VERY CAREFUL, it just might be in the interest of Trump for there to be a WAR BETWEEN THE TWO SIDES, it would place the very liberal Democrats in a tight spot, they could hardly be critical with the US fighting a WAR.  One hopes that the religious theocracy in Iran has control of its forces and its terrorist allies, otherwise the Iran and the US could walk in to WAR.

In many respects President Trump, he talks tough but when you get down to it, POTUS is an appeaser of the first order.  In the 2nd Obama Term, President Obama allowed his Secretary of State, John F. Kerry to march the troops up the hill when it came to Syria, and then cut him lose when the UK House of Commons would to support military strikes on Assad's Syria.   As with Syria and now IRAN, POTUS talks tough but when you get down it, he freezes, just look at Venezuela, both the National Security Adviser and the Secretary of State talk tough on removing the Government of Venezuela and what happened, a FAT NOTHING, tough sanctions that hit the people, while Government and Military ELITE do not suffer.   It has been stated that Trump is a new appeaser, just he shows a tough face but when you get down it, he STOPS.  In his campaign in 2016 Trump made it clear that he does not want to LEAD THE WORLD, this is a return to the US of the 1920s, where the voters did not want to see in another World War, it would take twenty years for the US voter to find its backbone with WW2, only after Imperial Japan attacked Pearl Harbour on December 7th 1941.   Thus it can be postulated that TRUMP will never attack Iran, and sooner or later, Iran will get the bomb.

One has to ask, are the military and the Supreme Leader on the same page when it comes to ACTION with the US.  As stated that is the problem when you have a religious theocracy in charge of Country.  There is the Supreme Leader who has the ultimate say, then the secular government that has limited power and then the military who's sole existence is to keep Iran a religious tyranny in power, also has a hefty interest in the economy of Iran.  The Trump Oval has to make it clear to IRAN, if any US SHIPS are hit by a missile its OVER for Iran.  The US will simply bomb IRAN back to pre stone age, and they have that kind of power.  Let's recall the US has the MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS, non nuclear, very effective in Afghanistan.

IF Tehran is not confused, this blog is, the Trump Oval is sending out a confused message, either its a MASTER CLASS in Good Cop/Bad Cop or the Trump Oval is having internal disagreements about the future course in the Middle East.  This is the kind of time when a CLEAR message has to be SENT, and understood, Iran or its Allies might do something they think is low level and the US goes crazy and starts a WAR.  One has to assume that the US through the Swiss are having private talks on how to improve or lower the tension in the Middle East.   The key date will be when the 60 deadline by Tehran comes to and end, and it start the nuclear process to get the bomb, one can assume that Israel and Saudi Arabia will not allow that, and will strike, it would be better if that happened for the US to take action, otherwise Iran would be at WAR with Saudi Arabia and Israel, that really could close down the Persian Gulf. 

The clock is ticking folks, if the Tehran Regime had a strategic mastermind it would see that POTUS wants a better deal than Obama got, thus Iran should consider more limites it can live with while Trump is in the White House.   In many respects time is on their side, all they have to do is get beyond 2020 and there could be a liberal President in the Oval who wants to restart the Obama Deal.   Of course they have to get to 2020, if they go nuclear, ALL BETS ARE OFF.

This is not 1964 and IRAN is not the Vietnam War, in many respects Iran is a greater threat, it has given the UN 60 days to come up with a way around US sanctions.   This has not gone down well with the UN.  If after 60 days the UN has no plan then Tehran goes for the bomb, President Trump will have no choice but to ACT, if he does not ACT, then either Israel or Saudi Arabia, or both could act to prevent an arch enemy becoming a nuclear power.  The US has placed its naval forces in the region to make sure it can strike Iran should Iran make the foolish rush to become a nuclear armed power.   North Korea is BAD ENOUGH, if Iran goes nuclear its neighbours will be on the black market looking for the bomb.

One would hope that backchannel talks are taking place, to lower the tensions, the worry should be if North Korea and Iran from an alliance and go for a mutual track, causing problem for the US in Asia and the Middle East.   The weekend should be interesting, if nothing happens, then the crisis will have passed in till the 60 deadline is reached, after that it's up in the air.

As has been noted by others, Trump as a Candidate did not want to the US to leader of the West, and since taking Office, POTUS has tried to get troops out of warzones, thus the growing tensions with IRAN is out of line with his agenda set in 2016.   It has been reported that the Trump Oval has given the Swiss a number to give to the IRAN should it wish to calm tensions in the region.  A War with Iran would be most costly that the Iraq War of between 2003/11 and would take ground troops compared to the War with Libya under Colonel Gaddafi.  Of a War can start by accident, a Iran general has stated that Iran is on a cusp of a war with the US and the heavy sanctions placed on Iran is hurting the regime and people.

One has to ask the question is a quick and ruthless war in the interest of POTUS before the 2020 election, in 2004 Bush 43 was re-elected even after no WMD was found in Iraq.  A WAR President is more likely to get re-elected if the war is ongoing, the US voter will not want to change horses mid stream.  Also there is the chance that the allies of IRAN could hit US troops or interests in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq, thus the recent removal of American diplomats from Iraq.  The next few weeks will be very interesting.

This story reminds me of what JFK said at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, some SOB does not get the word, thus you might have a Iranian General who is doing his own method of Bad Cop/Good Cop, with the Spiritual Leader being the good cop, not wanting war.   On the other hand General Hossein Salami might just be following orders, that is the problem when you have religious theocracy in charge, there are groups within groups, also you have secular side that does not hold much power when it comes to the nuclear plans of Iran.  An accident COULD cause a major WAR, a Iranian boat getting too close to a US ship, a missile being thrown at a US ship, the Persian Gulf being closed down, thus no oil for the West and other regions.   Of course it could ALL be for show, both sides showing their bad cop while wanting a deal, just waiting for the right time.  With Trump in the Oval you never know how this could END.

It is interesting how CNN types and Democrats who placed so much trust in US intelligence when it comes to Russia, suddenly as starting to blame the Trump White House for the tensions in the Persian Gulf.  It seems that the political and media elite only trust the information from US intelligence when it agrees with their world mindset.   The Democrats are showing that they have NO BACKBONE for action when it comes to IRAN, this is being picked up by Tehran, they are hoping that the history of the Iraq War will make the Democrats call for Trump to back off.   This present tensions in the Middle East show how weak the US is lead and by the weakness of Democrats when it comes to national security.  At least President Obama was the Godfather of drones, as he stated it was his strong suit to kill terrorists, one does wonder if he will say that his memoirs, hardly very LIBERAL.   As for Iran tensions, Tehran fearing a Trump White House might do a deal as wanted by President Trump, the Democrats would look very WEAK if that happens.

This article looks how Iran is different from Iraq in 2003, it shows any WAR would be on  bigger scale, that costs in men and monies would be very high.  Of course the problem with that view is that Reagan was wrong to say that Marxism - Leninism would be placed on the ash heap of history, that the USSR was an Evil Empire and his call for Gorbachev to take down the Berlin Wall in 1987 was the WRONG call.   As history has shown President Reagan was RIGHT, he could see beyond what the elite foreign policy thought about the Cold War.  Thus it might be the very time to HIT Iran, if the Tehran Regime does not back down, and agrees to end its nuclear plans, end its rocket advances, and to stop supporting terrorists groups then it might be the BEST TIME TO HIT IRAN, before it goes nuclear, before it closes down the Persian Gulf.  Also to stop it giving rockets to its terrorists allies in Gaza and Lebanon.   War should be the LAST RESORT, but it should never be OFF THE TABLE, otherwise the BAD GUYS WIN, recall Munich 1938.   The US has to plan for WAR, and a complete WAR with Iran, remove the cancer from the region.

No one with a brain cell wants a WAR, but as appeasement showed in the 1930s sometimes you have to take action before it is to late, if Neville Chamberlain had stood up to Hitler at Munich in 1938 could WAR have been avoided in 1939. What the public will is and what should be done was different in the late 1930s, as we know now, Churchill was right about the threat from Hitler, while the Government and people were WRONG.  After the IRAQ war of 2003-11, and the bombing of Libya to remove Gaddafi the US voter is loathed to take further action in the region, but it is better to take out Iran before it gets the nuclear bomb and becomes like North Korea, than to wait and hope.  Of course before any ACTION happens, the Trump Oval should try a backchannel with the Tehran Regime, to make it clear that this time the US is REAL and if Iran goes down the nuclear road it will face attacks from Israel and even the US.   This is CRISIS is not over, another shoe will drop, just depends when and where.

The Tehran Regime has to be careful, this looks like Iran is trying to get the upper hand in any PR War before the actual fighting starts.   It will only take as stated an incident in the Strait of Hormuz and the threat to Western economy for the US to start bombing Iran and to remove the Regime.   The threat to Iran is that the US will not stop with a limited WAR, it will want to remove the present Regime, the political order and the religious theocracy would be REMOVED from power, where will the clerics run to, Syria under Assad?  At the moment the West has enough oil for a limited war in the Persian Gulf, a long term war could damage the economies of the West.

The US is playing good cop/bad cop, while the Secretary of State talks diplomacy, the Defence Department has sent a US Carrier to the region, a bomber group, and Trump is talking tough on Iran, when it comes to troops overthrowing the Regime.  The recent sabotage of vessels in the Gulf has caused more tension, any actual fighting will start should Iran or its allies target US interests or close down the Strait of Hormuz, this is the pathway for Western oil, any threat to that small space of water would cause the US to react in a firm manner.  

The TOUGH US sanctions on Iran is causing the economy of IRAN to go down the toilet, the regime might in attempt to divert attention through using its terrorist allies, if the US can prove a link between Tehran and any incident then the Trump Oval will react with overwhelming force, the Oval Office is no longer held by Obama, and Trump likes to do 100% different path of Barack Obama.   The Tehran Regime has to be very careful, it should recall the Iraq War and the end of that Regime and the fall of Gaddafi of Libya, the US has the force to remove despots.

If IRAN was a REAL DEMOCRACY and secular then a deal could be done by the US and Iran, but since the religious order have the final say the events in the Middle East could lead to a WAR.   The religious factions that control Iran know that if they did a deal on their nuclear structure they face been overthrown by the young generation of Iran.  One always hears that the majority of the population is young, and born after the revolution, well one day they will have had enough, of living under a religious theocracy that suppress the individual will and only holds on to power by having a ruthless elite and supporting terrorists in the region.  One such group is in Lebanon and poses a threat to Israel, while IRAN has its own forces in Syria, these could attack US forces, also Iran could stop oil going to the West.  If the Tehran Regime become a THREAT to Western Oil, one can postulate that the Trump Oval would be more than happy to take out the Government in IRAN.   The growing tensions in the region could lead to a regional war, with Israel, Saudi Arabia on the side of the US against Iran.   If there is a WAR, it would place the Democrats in a bind, are they going to oppose Trump while US troops could be fighting Tehran, and will former VP, Joe Biden want to restore the nuclear deal between the UN and Iran, he could face awkward questions in run up to 2020.

HRC will never get over losing to Donald Trump in 2016, the Oval Office was her turn after supporting Bill Clinton through his political career and his impeachment.  My any normal race HRC should have walked it, but she LOST WOMEN VOTERS, while women want a female President, they did not want HER as President.   Even President Obama in new reports did not think highly of her campaign, she was meant to carry on his legacy, the Obama Oval thought she had a better chance of winning than the Vice President, Joe Biden.  At the end of the day the Clinton's era of being a power couple within the Democratic Party is over, within  a year there will be a new leader, and there is nothing worse than being a former President; ( you were the most powerful man on earth, after four or 8 years and you are still young, you have to ask yourself, what is next?, the exception being the Gipper, he saw his VP become President, had not happened in 152 years, also Reagan has been Governor of California for 8 years and  a a movie and TV star before, he had earned the rest) or a Presidential loser, those that thought that HRC would win in 2016 have had to seek another candidate, at the present it is VP Biden, or he could be from the other 19 candidates running.  Their win will have nothing to do with the Clintons, that will be hard to bear for this political power couple, you know you are on the slide when you start your own podcasts, normally start something like at the start of your career or mid way through, not at the end, looks like your seeking PR because you influence has gone away, harsh but true in the political field ( This blog has only listened to the BBC podcast on Brexit ).  If HRC had WON she could have dealt with Iran and North Korea, but she LOST, that is the harsh truth.

The above is ALL SHOW, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee faces a left wing challenge in his District if he does not impeach President Trump.  Nearly all the Democratic candidates for President have called for Trump to be impeached, they are trying to get some traction in the polls, thus far VP Biden is smashing the field.  Of course the Democratic Debates have not happened yet, and a year is a long time, anything could happen, Trump could go to WAR with IRAN, the economy could carry on with its great upward path, the Democrats only have a chance in 2020 if the economy tanks, or if POTUS has a disaster on foreign policy, in that matter Trump is trying to bring US troops home, but as stated, you never know, North Korea could blow up, at the same time as Iran, that would challenge for ANY President, and let's be honest Trump is no JFK or Reagan, could he manage a double crisis.  It a long road to the Iowa in 2020.

The Trump Administration is warming the fire, but it is Iran who are placing logs on the fire.  One can assume that the Mossad, Israel's intelligence arm will be keeping a close eye on Tehran's move to become a nuclear armed power.  It is CLEAR that neither Israel or Saudi Arabia will allow Tehran to become a nuclear power like North Korea.   Once North Korea become a nuclear armed power the actions by the US could only be limited, a nuclear war in Asia would destroy not only North Korea, but also South Korea and radiation would travel to other Countries in the region.  Israel is already nuclear armed, that is hardly a secret, well it is  a STATE SECRET in Israel, and Saudi Arabia could buy a nuke at any time.  The point is to prevent other Countries in the region going nuclear, thus Iran has to be prevented from passing this red line.  One can see low level conflict developing between the US and Iran, the danger is that it gets out of control.

The US House Judiciary Committee is to hold the US Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress.  The House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi has lost control of her caucus, the left wing of the Democratic Party could cost the the Democrats the House in 2020 and the White House.   The extreme LEFT is listening to AOC and Senator Warren, a candidate for the Democratic nomination and other Democratic candidates.   Warren and her fellow candidates are trying to appeal to the LEFT WING BASE, the ones on social media, the problem is that the US voter has made it clear that it does not want impeachment and half want the investigations to END.  In fact as mentioned on CNN, POTUS approval ratings  have gone up, in fact he wants the Democrats to go for impeachment, it will not fly in the Senate, were he will be found innocent, it did not hurt Bill Clinton over all in 1998/99.   If Speaker Pelosi can not control her members she is in OFFICE but with no power, very much like PM May in the UK.

Whatever Iran is planning it should cease at once, if it is planning to attack US forces in Iraq or other US interests it should STOP.   The Trump Oval would like nothing better than for Iran to ACT, it would say that Obama has been fooled and that President Trump was right to withdraw the US from the US and Iran nuclear deal.  The US would not up the military presence in the Middle East if it did not think that there was a REAL THREAT or even a possible threat.  The actions of IRAN and its allies is a threat to the region has stated in my previous post, sooner or later IRAN must either back off or the US and its allies will have plans to take action should Iran ever cross the nuclear line.   One could see a combination of the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel taking action, if Iran tries to go nuclear this will be seen a threat to the region and to World security.  Let's recall Israel has the bomb, and will it use if under direct threat.

It is interesting that the US Secretary of State has GONE OFF THE RADAR, has he gone to Iraq due to the threat from Iran, has he gone to Israel to see what any military moves Israel might be making, is he in Saudi Arabia to promise support if  that Country is attacked.  Of could he be going to Afghanistan, seems a odd thing to do, but let's recall there are US troops in theatre and thus opened to an attack from the Tehran Regime.  Is the Secretary of State returning to the US over the crisis in Venezuela, the rhetoric from the D.C has been harsh, will the US follow through.  Of course it could be that the Secretary Pompeo does not fancy talking to the Germans, it's hardly OctoberFEST ( a lot of beer drinking ).

It can be argued that the US is waiting for Tehran to give it a reason to change the Regime in Iran.  The US seems on a hair trigger for action.  If the Tehran Regime has any sense, it would play this very carefully, bombing Iran would go down well with the US voters, getting rid of Tehran Regime would make sure that Trump wins in 2020.   There are reports that Iran or its allies will attack US interest in the region, ANY attack would allow Trump to use the US Armed Forces to get rid of the present Regime in the Iran, in this Trump would be supported by Saudi Arabia and Israel, both see Iran as a major THREAT.   The Trump Oval also dealing with the CRISIS in Venezuela, both the US Secretary of State and the National Security Advisor have suggested that the US could use armed force to remove the MARXIST Regime in Venezuela, in fact the rhetoric is very much like what the Obama Administration did over Syria, before walking its troops back down again.   The Trump Oval does not like being compared to the Administration of Barack Obama, and the Trump Oval could ACT just to show that it is different.   Also the US Secretary of State has gone off the radar, the press have no idea on his location, is there a crisis brewing in Middle East or in the Americas.  When the US send an aircraft carrier to your region, you should be very wary, and if Iran break the nuclear deal it could face swift reaction from President Trump.

The above is the sanest thing Jeremy Corbyn has EVER said, the question is will he do a deal with PM May so we can get BREXIT over the line and we can go back to ordinary politics, a time BEFORE BREXIT.   The next few days will be interesting, the Conservatives lost over a thousand council seats and the Labour Party did not gain any, that must be historic.   Both May and Corbyn need a deal, for May it is a matter of legacy, for Corbyn it allow him to talk about policies he actually cares about.   Will those HARD REMAIN MPs and HARD BREXIT MPs finally see the light and smell the coffee as the old saying goes, will they move, will any deal between May and Corbyn get through the House of Commons, the weekend reading of the papers should be interesting.

The only President to have served two terms and to see the nominee of his Party win in a 152 years was Ronald Reagan, the Gipper could hand over to Bush 41, his Vice - President, and this in many respects and the fact that the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, few months after Reagan left office and then the fall of the USSR placed Reagan in the league of GREAT American Presidents.   The very FACT that President Obama thought that HRC would of course naturally win, shows how touch a President can come after serving two terms as President.  When your staff say your great ALL THE TIME, it can mess with your head, and President Obama's great black hair went white after serving two terms, Reagan hair was still black and he was in his late 70s.   The Gipper showed that the Presidency can not be a burden, if you have the right character for the job.  It can be argued that Bill Clinton looked great after serving 8 years, and he had deal with the fact that he took over from Bush 41 and his successor was Bush 43.  In the late 1960s, LBJ's greatest fear was that he would be seen as the President between the Kennedy's, that being JFK and RFK.   In many respects Obama allowed the pressure to get to him, well at least his hair, Jimmy Carter really aged in Office, 1977-81.  It can be argued that he faced some of the greatest challenges of any President.

In his winning two terms President Clinton never got over 50% of the vote, in 1996 he got 49% and that was with a great economy.  The important numbers are the State polls, they will tell the tale of the election, that is why Joe Biden is looking good at the moment, he is seen as having the ability to win those States that Trump won 2016.  But as this blog has stated, its early May 2019, the Democratic Presidential Debates have not happened yet, and the US faces 20 Presidential candidates.   They will want to go after the Biden polls numbers, they have to SHINE, they have to show that they can win, and that Biden is an easy target for Trump and his tweets.  I expect Mayor Pete and Beto ( great brand names to sell, if I just said Joe, you would be wondering for a second who I was talking about, thus brand is important ) to do well in the DEBATES if they really want to challenge Biden, of course this will be their first time on the national stage, will they shine or go supernova and show that they are not ready for prime time.   On the issues one expects Senator Warren to being a box of them, the question is can she sell her herself, ( her voice does drone after a bit, eight years, not sure the US voter is ready for that ).   Let's see if Senator Kamala Harris can stop pandering, she has to show her tough side, she was a prosecutor, the US will not vote for a WEAK WOMAN for POTUS.
