The REAL problem for the coming Labour Government in 2024, was not its u - turns, but the character of the PM, so say he has no charisma is an understatement, by comparison Sir John Major, the UK PM between 1990 - 97, had charisma to spare, the cartoon and sketch writers had him wearing his panse over his trousers, he was liked even in 1997, the day he left office, he went and watched the cricket, what will Sir Keir do, complain to the left wing media that he was stabbed in the back by Andy Burnham, and say his 2 years were great no matter the view of the public.

The PM is going to the right in the hope they will be more afraid of a REMAINER getting to be the new PM, let's recall the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill is still going through the Lords and also there are signs that Government might get a new deal with the EU after even the Irish said that the Protocol was to hard.  The question is what is more important to the right wing of the Conservative Party, Brexit or getting re-elected next time.  It's time for the PM to start taking teas with the backbench MPs, it has to be done.  The PM should argue that if the Conservative Party get rid of her, the Country will move like it did in 1992 and that lead to the Tony Blair Era and the Conservatives OUT OF POWER for 13 years.  It's time to be extra nice to MPs, appeal for their support based on the fear what Labour would do in power with SNP support, it's time to be put the Country first, and support the leader. 

Proclamation of a new King - King Charles III Era

It was a very moving, the Proclamation of King Charles 111, it was moving to see all the former Prime Ministers, they had the good fortune to have the late Queen as their advisor, a Monarch who had seen it ALL.  The new King knows all the leading politicians of the UK due to his role as Prince of Wales.  It will be interesting to see the King following the example of her late Majesty in giving advice to his new PM, but not allowing his public views to be known.  That was the MASTER ability of her late Majesty, we felt we knew her, she was the pillar of the UK constitution, but we never knew her political thoughts, that was between her and her Prime Minister. This blog has surprised at how moved it has been by the last few days, the Queen is no longer there, sometimes we do not take notice of stability, all through this blog's 53 years the Queen has always been there, when ever the state of the Country, one felt safe, as long as the Queen was there, the Country would come through, it's a big job for King Charles III to follow.

Let really hopes that the PM Boris means the above, he had to face former PM May who is fast becoming the Ted Heath of the Conservative Party, a leader who cannot get over losing the leadership.  One does hope that Boris does not want to be a backseat driver, like Thatcher wanted with Sir John Major.  That was a disaster for the Major while he was PM.  The fact is that Boris, is a very charismatic leader and he is very young, thus he can come back later on if he wants too.  The Conservative  Party needs to look forward and not back, thus the UK needs tax cuts, we have the highest tax rate in 70 odd years.  The last time they were that high was in 1949 under a Labour Government.  Also PM Truss needs to go big on the cost of living, it has been suggested that the Government will freeze energy costs, that will cost one hundred billion, yes BILLION, at some point the British people must not expect the Government to bail them out, this is not this time, we have just come through the pandemic and supporting the Ukraine in its war against Russia.  Thus the energy hikes by Russia.  It is going to be a tough couple of months for new PM Liz.

Thus far its only Sky that is going with this story, are they really allowing their hatred and REMAIN wing to dictate their reality, the PM cannot be forced out office in till there is a NEW LEADER, he remains the Queen's PM.   If the Conservative Party want a new leader will have to change the rules, that means the 1922 Committee will have elections for its officers on Monday, and then the structure of a new leadership contest, this is going to take time, and the Queen needs a PM on call. What if the Russians seeing this crisis in LONDON, pulls a stunt with a bombing of a NATO Country, thus we need a PM.  If PM Boris will not go, and he can fill his Cabinet and junior ranks then he stays, so far he has replaced those that have left. The UK has had three Education Secretaries in two days.  As for Sky News and BBC News a friend of this blog stated that they are nest of vipers, the Conservative MPs should not be on the TV, they should find a candidate that all MPs can decide on, like Churchill after Chamberlain or Major after Thatcher.   In 2007 Gordon Brown forced Tony Blair OUT after 10 years, he ran with no opposition as Labour leader.  The left/liberal elite will try to fan this story, the powers that be within the Conservative Party need to get their MPs back in line and not on the TV, BBC News, Sky News, Channel 4 News etc.  This blog is waiting to see who runs and who are the Brexit supporters in the pack. 

What PM Boris should do about the LEADERSHIP - After COVID

As stated this blog has not time for the PM since Afghanistan, but this stream of letters have to STOP, the PM should use the Sir John Major tactic, he was PM, he resigned the leadership of the Conservative Party and ran again, when he had similar problems with the backbenches, and he won that contest.  PM Boris should do the same, flush out the malcontents, force them to have a candidate, that is a to shut this down, let's see who has the support to stand, and let's recall its the members who NOW elect the leader not the MPs, one is convinced that the PM would win that round.  The PM should also do what he did before and start to throw a few MPs out of the Party, make them run as independents  in the 2024 General Election, that would silence a few, they would no longer be Conservatives and cannot vote to unseat the PM.  It is time for the PM to be ruthless.

The UK PM Boris Johnson is falling in to the FAILED PM League headed by Neville Chamberlain and at the bottom former PM May.  The PM set a deadline, of the 15th of October NOW he is rowing back, this is what the EU wants, drag out the talks, endless and give a the UK a bad deal at the end, they play this game all the time.  The French play the tough guys, while the Germans have the soothing words.  The PM should walk away form the talks, that would force the EU on to UK ground, and OUR FISH and OUR WATERS should remain British.  The critics of the PM could be weak, he doe u - turns and is not on top of the detail.

Lord Botham Brexit has a ring to it, of course Lord Botham is a firm Brexit supporter and does great charity work.  The blog does not understand why the PM has placed Ken Clarke and Philip Hammond on the peerage list, they are firm Remain supporters, is No 10 trying to show that the BREXIT WAR is over and the Country must move on, the question is will the former Chancellors follow the Conservative whip or will they just be as stubborn in the Lords as they were in the House of Commons about Brexit.  At least the Conservatives have more on their side, the House of Lords had become Remain CENTRAL for those opposed to Brexit.   At least the former Speaker, John Bercow was not given an peerage, he broke the norms of the House of Commons in his attempts to block BREXIT, he used very OLD precedents in attempt to BLOCK BREXIT, he lowered the standing of the Speaker for his personal agenda. 

The Conservative Succession - End of the May Era - Why NO BREXIT?

The Conservative Party leadership rules have to be changed again, this race can not go on for weeks, the number of candidates could be shorten if each candidate needed 12 MPs supporting him or her before the 1st round and then the vote should be taken daily to get down to 2 candidats to go to the Party.  One can postulate that if BORIS gets the nod and a Remainer is chosen the Remain candidate will stand down and allow Boris to become PM and save the Party members having to vote for the outcome everyone knows.  Of course it depends on Boris getting the nod, the MPs are not that BRIGHT, they could give us another Major or May, the UK and the Conservative Party needs BORIS as PM. 

NO BREXIT Day on 29.3.2019 - Brexit Update 1 - NO BREXIT

It has been a BAD WEEK for the PM, she lost her meaningful vote 2 on the 12 March, the following day lost the vote on a NO DEAL BREXIT, BUT today she has had a good day.  The PM controls the Parliamentary Agenda for a week, she is going to the EU Summit to request a delay in Brexit, it could be a short delay or a long delay, it depends if she can get her meaningful vote 3 through the House of Commons.   It seems that the DUP is coming on board, while even some of the HARD BREXIT MPs are changing their minds.  Others on the hand to quote the military historian Alan Clark are lions being  lead by donkeys.  This blog has been very hard on the HARD REMAINERS, but the HARD BREXIT MPs had Brexit in their hands and they threw it away and some are still refusing to budge.   In the first Gulf War the US and its allies went around the Iraqi dugouts and won the WAR, the extreme HARD BREXIT MPs are fighting for a hill when they have a chance to win the war.  They need to support the May Deal and then chose a Brexit PM after May resigns and fight for the future AGENDA.  The County Associations of these MPs need a to speak to them, do not lose the war for a hill, otherwise they should face de-selection.  The public will not understand the purity need for these MPs.   One can now understand why Sir John Major called his Brexit MPs, sons/daughters without a legal father ( this blog has cleaned up the quote, you get the idea ).   This blog is a HARD BREXIT supporter, it would build a WALL in the middle of the Euro Tunnel and at the entrance and set a minefield just after the WALL.   It would make the Berlin WALL LOOK easy, but this blog can count numbers, that is the point of democracy, TAKE THE DEAL BREXIT MPs and let's move on.

Will there be a Vote on Tuesday December 11th ? - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

As reported in the The Sun, The Daily Mail and The Times, the option of not having a vote on December 11th is on the table.   The PM should run with this strategy, it is bad politics to lose control of your future actions, the PM should go back to the EU and say the DEAL is not GOOD ENOUGH, that the UK has demands, and they are not up to debate, the Northern Irish Backstop has to go, it in many respects removes Northern Ireland from the UK, that is not what Northern Ireland wants at the present.  The PM has to go gain control of her Party, if being friendly does not work she should try FEAR, backbench MPs should always be afraid of the Chief Whip and No 10, once you lose that it is hard to govern, just ask Sir John Major.

Thus the PM has gotten through another crucial meeting, she is still PM, the questions that has to be asked, are the MPs being nice to her because they support her or do they see her as finished and do not want to add to her problems.   In 1997 Sir John Major was treated well by the voters, they and made up their minds to vote for the new kid on the block, that being Tony Blair, thus they did not give Major a hard time when he was out campaigning.  The question is how many letters have gone to the Chairman of the 1922 Committee asking for a vote of confidence in PM May, it could be argued that it would be foolish to have the vote while No 10 is in talks with the EU, but then Conservative MPs are not your normal voters at the best of time.   It only takes 48 Conservative MPs asking for a vote for a vote to take place.    Those that thought that PM May would FALL have been shown to be wrong with their predictions, their use of words might have helped the PM, one only hopes that the PM gets a semi good deal from the EU or the MPs will be back in their attempt to remove the PM.

The one MAJOR fault line within the Conservative Party is EU, it has long been so, EU waves caused problems for Lady Thatcher and Sir John Major.  The point of the 2016 Vote was for the UK voter to decide, and guess what happened, they told the Elite to get lost, the Remainers are those Elite that lost in 2016, to them there should be a 2nd Vote, and if that does not work, then another vote.   THE Elites never accept the spirit of Democracy, it is time they grew up and worked for the UK, not for the EU.

The last person to give advice to Jeremy Corbyn should be Neil Kinnock, he lost the 1992 election with his windbag speech in Sheffield.   The former Labour leader is pro Europe, the problem is that the rest of the people, actual voters have shown by a million votes that they want out of the EU.    The liberal left of the Labour Party, the Guardian, the BBC will never understand the saner UK voter, they live in a bubble, while the rest of main street have to live paycheque to paycheque, the UK VOTER has stated its view on the EU, time the liberal elite opened their ears to real votes and people.

The UK lost 255 troops in taking back the Falklands, and for an extreme left wing idiot like Jeremy Corbyn to be a  Labour Leader shows that Tony Blair did not change Labour, it was a PR show at the end of the day, its not what a Party does when it winning that can matter, it how it acts if it loses, thus far from Gordon Brown through Ed Miliband to Corby the Party has gone back to its left wing roots. The same political party that was out of power for near 18 years under Thatcher and Major Governments is heading for that period of Opposition again.   Does any Labour MP have the guts to take on Corbyn before its to late.

This blog does not believe in hitting someone when they are down, Ed Miliband has resigned as Labour Leader, his agenda was NOT the agenda of the UK voter, the Miliband Camp thought that the UK voter had gone left after the financial crash of 2008,  it might have done for a short time but with the economic recovery it went back to its usual position of centre right, and the thought of business bashing, welfare Labour Government was to much for the UK voter, thus the election of a majority Conservative Government for the first time since 1992.   It should have been a warning to this blog and to Labour that when the British people are nice to their political leaders ITS OVER, the voter in 1997 was nice to Sir John Major, a decent man who lost big to Tony Blair.    Thus Labour needs a long debate about its future, it needs to go back to the Blair agenda. 

Conservatives LEAD by 3% over Labour - Election 2015

Thus another poll that shows the Conservatives with a lead, as this blog is a Conservative blog it wants to see a Conservative victory, but all the objective information leads to one result, a Labour minority with SNP support.  Of course the UK voter could be economic with the truth when it comes to the pollsters.   This is not new, that was the result of the 1992 election, the polls had a Labour victory but it turned out to be a Conservative victory on the night.   The Conservatives given the polls should go with the economy and the threat from the SNP.   The message is simple to the English voters, do you want Scotland taking your tax money because the Government needs SNP suppprt for votes, do you think that Ed Milliband is tough enough to stand up to Alex Salmond and others SNP leaders.    Are the Scots asking for more than they should get, in tax funds.   Time for simple and tough message. 

The Polls and the 2015 General Election

If your a political geek you LOVE polls. it does not matter who is ahead, you love to see who is up and down, what people are really thinking, lets be honest politics and polls bore most people, or they want to keep their political opinions to themselves, also recall the UK voter lies, they did that in 1992 and that election saw Sir John Major getting another term as PM.  On the whole this blog has been bored by THIS election, one is so used to US elections that our own election seems tame, of course with Hillary getting in to election the US Presidential Election starts this year, so expect a lot of coverage of US polls, how the candidates manage Iowa and NH,  and the numerous candidates on the Republican side should make for fun year and half of politics.  The game is afoot. 

UK and EU

Telegraph: Reports the following on the decision of PM Cameron to promise a in or out referendum on the UK membership of the EU, " Labour's policy on Europe was today thrown into confusion, after Ed Miliband declared he opposes an EU referendum only to be contradicted by his party hours later. ". 

Lets Get Real:

This will benefit the Conservative Party folks, although the Party still has a few EU supporters its not like in the day of Lady Thatcher and Sir John Major, when the Party was split by the issue, on the whole the Party would be quite happy to be OUT of the EU, while the issue is a hot issue for Labour, the London elites might want to stay but they can not make sure that Labour supporters follow the party line, the Labour Party could be split down the middle and Ed Miliband could be on the losing side.  While the issue could bury the Liberal Democrats, the Party is so pro EU it wants to run by the EU, if the UK  is out they are finished as a political party, they would lose ALL their Euro MP's, in fact the party could split, between Labour and Conservative supporters.    This is a good news day for PM Cameron and a tricky day for the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats. 

Leveson = McCarthyism ?

Well folks today you have seen a modern version of McCarthyism, left wing Guardian agenda thrown at Mr Murdoch, it can argued that the Leveson Inquiry has lost the plot, it is not the business of a Judge in a Democracy who a Press Baron meets or does not meet, that is none of his business, it can argued that Lord Justice Leveson has become as bad at those that the Inquiry was meant to be looking at, nearly all the questions thrown at Mr Murdoch were based on some Guardian view of the past, and when Mr Murdoch stated that these ideas were myth, there was no evidence to prove he was not telling the truth, one can see Lord Justice allowing the Barrister to ask “ Have you even been Communist ”. The Leveson Inquiry was set up to look at phone hacking, it seems the case that sparked the Inquiry that there was no phone hacking as first thought, so why is this Inquiry still going on, another Bloody Sunday Inquiry, how much does a Barrister or Judge make per hour, doubt it’s the minimum wage. All power corrupts sooner or later folks.
