Guardian: Reports the following on the Romney win in Michigan, “ ..we can say that Romney is now the clearer than ever favourite to win the Republican nomination….But his party does not love him.. ”. Both these statements are true folks, Romney should have the BIG MO going in to Super Tuesday in early March, but it can be argued that Southern States might go for Gingrich, thus the game of the Republican race will still be on. The question that is being asked is will any of the Candidates have a majority of the delegates by the Republican Convention, if this blog understand the rules after the 1st vote the Delegates are free to change their votes if no Candidates has enough delegates to become the nominee. The Republican Party could look at Governor Jeb Bush, a two term Governor, popular in his State of Florida, not seen as right wing as Bush 43 his brother, more in the moderate role of Bush 41. The question then will be asked, can the US elect another Bush to the Presidency, it would seem a family job lot, it has been noted that Jeb Bush is seen as the brains of the Bush sons, thus it can be argued that the Republican Party might take the risk, could this be the time for Bush 44.
A look at the Politics of the United States and the UK. The Foreign Policies of both countries and how they behave in the International Community.

Romney and the Michigan WIN - Republican Race
The US and North Korea
Telegraph: Reports that North Korea has agreed to halt its nuclear programme, thus no more missiles tests, nuclear tests, also allow UN Inspectors back in to North Korea. The price food aid from the US. Folks Obama is a FOOL, only the Oval would think that North Korea will really change, once it gets the food the wall will go back up, they will reverse this halt, one can even postulate that they will carry on, as they have done after previous agreements with the US. This deal feeds the Obama ego, next he will think that he can get a deal with Iran, the Israeli Government should not trust the Oval for a second, Obama is a weak leader, this deal just shows how weak.
Big Romney WINS - Republican Reace
BBC News: Reports on double digit win by Romney in Arizona and his narrow 3% win in Michigan. This blog called the Michigan result early folks, well before CNN and Fox, when Romney was about twenty thousand votes ahead in Michigan and those votes came from the most populated areas of Michigan it could postulated that it was going to be a Romney night. Thus comes Super Tuesday, with 10 States in the frame, lets hope Romney can finish this game, the longer it goes on the more political arrows that the Republicans give to the Democrats. The Republicans should have one aim, to defeat President Obama.

50% Job Disapproval for POTUS - Gallup
Gallup: Reports on its daily job performance poll for President Obama, today POTUS has a 43% Approval rating, while 50% of Americans Disapprove of the Obama record. This will not go down well with the Oval or the Chicago Re-Elect Committee, buts its only one day folks, lets see the polls when the Republicans have nominated a nominee, then it will be interesting to see, if the Republicans nominate Senator Santorum then one can see President Obama wining, the main stream media would make it clear that Santorum is far right when it comes to social issues, that is all you will hear, the Obama record on the economy is a disaster, even with the unemployment rate coming down from 9% to around 8.3%. The Democrats have to make the Republican Candidate the issue, with Romney that would be harder, all you hear form the Conservatives in the Republican race is that Romney is a moderate, thus this should appeal to moderate swing voters in November. The Democrats needs Santorum to win, otherwise Obama will be in trouble. Thus the reason on the whole that the MSM has not really gone for Santorum, they cant destroy him in till the General Election, they would have a problem with Romney as stated above.
Ireland and the New EU Treaty
Telegraph Live - Euro Crisis: Reports that Ireland will hold a Referendum Vote on the new EU Treaty. Lets hope the Irish have the guts to tell the Germans and the French to get lost, otherwise Dublin after getting its Independence from the UK through armed violence will give up its Sovereignty to Berlin and to a lesser extent to Paris. If the Irish send a clear message of NO, then there might be a chance for the EU to work, otherwise the Euro elite are going to take the EU over a cliff, and there will be no come back, time for the Irish to stand up or become economic slaves of Berlin.
Voting in Arizona and Michigan - Republican Race
BBC News: Reports that Governor Romney has a small lead in Michigan Polls but a larger one in Arizona. Thus folks its down to Romney and Santorum, Senator Santorum really wants to win folks, he has placed automatic calls to Democrats asking them to vote for him as he states that Governor Romney in effect would have allowed the car companies to go out of business. If enough Democrats vote today they could put Santorum over the top and give him the BIG MO in to Super Tuesday. The Romney Camp has to win Michigan, it’s the home State for Romney, his father was once Governor of the State. If Romney cant win Michigan the rational for his Campaign might go out of the window. Expect a late night tonight folks, this blog will be tweeting the results as the happen in Arizona and Michigan. Put on the Coffee folks.

Michigan Polls - RCP
RCP: Reports on its Average of the Michigan Polls before the Primary vote next week, today Governor Romney leads Senator Santorum by 36.8% to 34.8% a 2%. lead. If Romney can keep his home State and take Arizona then he will have a good lead in to Super Tuesday, it seems the last Republican Debate really helped Romney with Republican voters. There should be caution folks, all these polls have a margin of error of between 3% to 4%, thus a tied race in many respects. If Santorum can take Michigan and give Romney a run for his money in Arizona then he will have a good lead in to Super Tuesday, that is why this race is so interesting folks, from day to day, to debate to debate you never really know who is going to win.
Iran vs. Israel - Iran Crisis
Guardian: Reports the following on the Iranian Crisis, “ ..Iran is refusing to co-operate with an investigation into evidence that the country may have worked on designing a bomb. ”. Folks the drumbeat is reaching a point that either Israel takes action or has to accept that Iran will become a nuclear armed power in the Middle East. The Oval has no backbone when it comes to Iran, you have President Obama a man who believes his own rhetoric, he still thinks that Iran will listen to him and that he is the smartest man in the room when it comes to the Middle East, well he is not, the people in the know are the Mossad, if they say Iran is close to having a bomb then Israel has to strike, either Obama supports Israel or he does not, if he does not he can kiss the Presidency goodbye, that simple folks, one suspects Obama does not get that, that the problem with naïve arrogance folks, Israel could pay the price, a 2nd holocaust if it does not strike Iran.
Germany and Greece - Greek Crisis
Telegraph: Reports that the German Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich has called for Greece to leave the Euro. Thus folks it can be argued it’s a matter of time before either Greece leaves the Euro by its own choice or is thrown out, the Germans will not be happy if in a few months the Greeks are back asking for more money, and folks this is a promise the Greeks will be back, the contraction of the Greek economy will carry on due to the tough austerity measures demanded by the EU/IMF/ECB, the cuts in wages, budgets and the public sector will have deep consequences for Greece, thus higher welfare, thus more debt, thus more money needed, the Germans are fast getting over their WAR GUILT when it comes to Greece, and to be honest folks they have a point. Greece has lived high on the hog as we say back home, its time to pay the BUTCHER, the butcher being the banks and the EU/IMF/ECB.

The Home Front - Iran
Guardian: Reports the following on the situation on the ground in Tehran with the fear of war and the UN sanctions, “ …clouded by the fear of war, exhaustion and public anger caused by political discontent at home and western economic sanctions. ” It can be argued folks that the drum beat of war between Iran and Israel and the sanctions by the UN is starting to affect the fabric of daily life in Iran, this is good folks, this will sound harsh but if the pillars of the Regime can be rotted away then there is chance that there will be no Israeli strike, the question is how long will Israel wait, the latest critical report by the IAEA on Iran’s nuclear plans will help the hardliners in Israel to move for a strike, how long before any strike will have limited affect, the Tehran Regime is moving its important nuclear materials under ground, they can not be allowed to get the bomb, if Iran gets the bomb then the region goes nuclear, then there will be a war folks, and it could be nuclear.
Syria the NEXT Libya ?
Telegraph: Reports that Syrian Opposition has claimed that Western Countries are giving them weapons. It can be postulated that this is the French and UK doing it off the radar, it would be of no great surprise, even the CIA might be helping out, the West has to careful, the Assad Regime might go for broke, start a War with Israel, get extra support from Iran, place pressure on Russia, this could get very nasty fast folks, then we have the chance of an Israeli strike on Iran, the Middle East could get very hot fast folks.
The UN and Iran
BBC News: Reports that the UN’s IAEA has serious concerns that Iran is developing a nuclear bomb. This latest leak folks will place extra pressure on Israel to take action, the longer Israel wait’s the less chance of a successful attack on Iran. Also as we are heading in to the US Presidential Election season the issue will start to get more attention, thus could hurt the Oval, thus far Obama’s outreach to Iran has gotten nothing, just dust blown in to the face of the Oval and the UN. Thus expect an attack within a few months folks, also buy Oil futures, you might make money, the market can go up and down.
The Syrian Opposition
The New York Times: Reports that the opposition to the Assad Regime is even more splintered than in Libya. Thus folks even if the UN in the shape of the US, UK and France wanted to take action, you have various groups corralled by their opposition to the Assad Regime, who don’t have direct control of those doing the fighting and getting killed for a free Syria. Lets be honest here folks, President Obama does not want another War, the left in the US were not happy about the US taking out Gaddafi, one can only guess at their reaction should the US take military action in Syria, this could be a first step to a War with Iran. If the Syria mess goes cross border, Israel on one side, then Turkey, it could drag in the US even if it does not want to, a conflict between Israel and Syria would help the Assad Regime, thus the US and the UN have to be very careful, the balloon for the whole region could go up.
Syria and Crimes Against Humanity
Telegraph: Reports that UN Investigators have charged the Syrian Regime with crimes against humanity. As article notes as long as Syria has the backing of Russia and China no formal charges can be placed, but a symbolic condemnation based on the charges would be a great PR tool to hit the Syrian Regime with, thus far it seems only PR that the World community is going to use against Syria. The US and the UK needs to supply the rebels with arms, cut off arms getting in Syria, prevent Iran from supporting the Syrian Regime, this just might avoid a military action later by the UN, this would be carried out by NATO.
Syria and the World
BBC News: Reports that a Friends of Syria meeting will be held in Tunisia, those attending the gathering will be the US,UK, EU and the Arab League. The plan is to demand access to the worse shelled areas in Syria. Folks this will only work if there is a threat of force, as long as Syria has the backing of Russia, China and Iran they will carry on killing, this is the reason this blog has not really followed this story, either the World Community ACTS or it does not, its one or the other, as noted on CNN this morning, it took the US and the World Community three years to act when it came to Bosnia, so far its been close to year in Syria, since the uprising started in March of 2011, lets hope the UN does not take in till 2014 to act over Syria, if so thousands or hundred of thousands could reach their maker by the hand of the Syrian Regime.

Germany vs. EU/IMF
Guardian: Reports that Germany could undermine the 2nd Greek bailout because it as the article notes is “ ..refusing to bolster the firewalls set up to prevent the eurozone debt crisis from spreading. ”. This is the political demand of both the Dutch Government and the IMF, the Germans have never wanted to go that extra mile to solve the Greek problem, these endless EU meetings could have been avoided if Germany had agreed to underwrite EU bonds, but the German Supreme Court has made it clear that such an act would be against the German Constitution. This is when HISTORY can really bit you on the backside, the hyper inflation of Weimar Germany in in the 1920s is seared on the German soul. This shows the disastrous consequences of printing money, it took a wheal barrow of Germany Currency just to buy a loaf. If German was to underwrite EU bonds one can postulate that the PIIGS would not reform, and Germany would be bailing them out for ever. Lets see if this Greek deal stand folks, it might cause more problems than it solves, in Greece and Germany.

Republican Debate - Review
BBC News: Reports that Republican frontrunner former Senator Rick Santorum came under attack from other Republican Candidates in the Republican Debate. At the end this blog called it a split decision, it can be argued that both Romney and Santorum had a good night, Santorum showed he could deal with a combative attacks from fellow candidates. His one weak area is his arguments on social issues, they are very Conservative, and hurt him with Independent voters in a General Election. While Romney showed he could be tough but without losing his cool, also his answers on the Middle East that he could go toe to toe with President Obama in a Foreign Policy Debate. The Brains on the set was former Speaker Newt Gingrich, his vast knowledge showed, but will it help him, he needed to keep his answer short and to the point. As to Congressman Paul, he is crank, he makes Neville Chamberlain look tough, a crank in other words folks. His Iran position was so weak it would be funny if the issue was not so serious. Thus Super Tuesday comes folks, lets see who has the BIG MO.

Iran Watch - Iran Crisis
Guardian: Reports that UN Inspectors were prevented from visiting Iran’s controversial Nuclear facilities. Thus folks the attack clock is reaching 12, ATTACK HOUR, the Tehran Regime is playing games, they are hoping that Israel is bluffing, that Obama will prevent an attack and that their plans can read an end point, a nuclear armed Iran before Israel hits, expect oil prices to sky rocket folks, good time to buy oil futures.
POTUS and Business Tax
BBC News: Reports that President Obama proposed a cut in corporation tax, from 35% to 28%. This is a political move folks, its get the White House from under the impression that President Obama has a negative view about private business. As this is an election year don’t hold your breath for this to pass, the Republicans are not going to give Obama a thing between NOW and the November Election. Just think of this development as good PR by the Chicago Re - Elect Committee, not serious just a distraction from the Obama record.

Ronald Reagan and US Public Opinion
Rasmussen Reports: Reports that 40% of Americans see President Ronald Reagan as the most influential President in 50 years. This shows the wise judgement of Americans, after the disaster that was the Carter Presidency the US needed Reagan, he cut taxes, he cut welfare, he raised defence spending, he bought the US out of the shadow that was Vietnam. The greatest success for Reagan it can be argued on the domestic front was to allow Americans to believe in the US again, it was that Shining City on a Hill, all things were possible. On the International Stage Reagan closed down the Cold War, the US won and the USSR ended up in the bin. All Presidents want to be Reagan, even Obama has tried, but there will always be only one Reagan, the Gipper did good.
Gallup and the Republican Race
Gallup: Reports on its latest poll of the Republican Race, today Senator Santorum leads Governor Romney by 36% to 26%, a 10% lead. This is time for Romney to finish off Santorum, if the Senator can take Michigan the home State of Governor Romney and do well on Super Tuesday the race will be different, Senator Santorum will be the presumptive Republican Nominee and Governor Romney will be the major underdog. This is might be the major shock that Romney needs to show if he has any backbone, does really want the nomination, then he is in a political knife fight for his political future, he really has to find a way to take Santorum down in Michigan and on Super Tuesday, otherwise it can be argued that Santorum could start to look like a Winner, this would be hard PR for Romney, as the poll from Texas shows, Santorum could be the candidate to beat, who saw that coming!

The Iron Dome of Israel - Iran Crisis
Daily Mail: Reports that Israel has placed rocket interceptors around Tel Aviv, its political Capital. Folks Israel says this is an exercise but it would be a way to defend the Capital while getting ready to attack Iran, the building blocks for an attack are getting set in place folks, there is a forthcoming visit by the Israeli PM to the Oval Office, on one level it could be a way for the Oval to get Israel to wait for the effect of the sanctions, on the other it could be the Israeli PM telling the Oval that there is a cut off date, no matter what, it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall for that meeting folks.
Iran OIL THREAT to EU
Guardian: Reports that Iran has threatened to block oil to other EU Countries after blocking oil to the UK and France. This could be an economic move folks, to drive up the price of a barrel of oil as to get foreign currency for the Tehran Regime that is starting to see the effects of the sanctions by the US and EU on its oil and banking sectors. The question is what is the end game folks, will Iran give up its nuclear ambitions, so far no trace of that, just the offer of endless talks, will Israel allow Iran to become a nuclear power, NO is the simple answer. Thus when does the balloon go up folks, the US Defence Secretary has stated that Israel could strike Iran between April and June, it could be argued that Israel might hit in October, just before the US Presidential Election, thus forcing President Obama to support Israel. Of course there could be an accident, on purpose by the Tehran Regime, they could hit a US Ship or attempt to close down the Persian Gulf, then all bets are off folks, time will tell.
Santorum and Texas - Republican Race
Telegraph: Reports that former US Senator Rick Santorum has a 27% lead in Texas. Folks its down to Michigan, if Santorum can WIN Michigan and Arizona this race could be over for Governor Romney. Thus the Romney Camp has to spend its last dollar in Michigan, it would be a symbolic defeat if Romney was to lose Michigan, he was born there, he worked there and his father was a State Governor, if the people of your home State don’t trust you why should voters in other States. The question that Republican voters have to ask is can Santorum win against President Obama, as of 21 February 2012 the answer is NO. But this is February, lets recall Jimmy Carter and his Campaign wanted to run against Ronald Reagan, thus convention wisdom as this Republican Race has show is not sometimes worth the paper its written on or even BLOG. The Santorum Campaign has to keep the Senator off social issues, we all NOW he is very Conservative, the Campaign has to be about the economy, it’s the economy stupid as the Clinton Campaign used to great effect in 1992. Its going to be a interesting few months folks.

Sabre Rattling by Iran
Telegraph: Reports as the UN sends its Nuclear Inspectors to Iran, the Tehran does some sabre rattling by holding anti aircraft exercise. As the article notes the UN Inspectors will not visit Iran’s controversial nuclear facilities, thus these talks are being used by Iran as time to builds up its nuclear structure, and its defence of these structures, as noted on Fox News a barrel of oil has now reached $105 Dollars, these will send up the price when customers fill up their cars. If there is an attack on Iran expect a barrel of oil to reach between $115 - 145 dollars a barrel, this will hit customers, thus less spending, a contraction of the economy. This will have negative effects on voters in the US and UK. Thus this is important folks, expect more tension to develop, this crisis will not go away folks.
2ND Greek Bailout - Euro Crisis
BBC News: Reports that Eurozone Finance Ministers are showing confidence that Greece will get its 2nd bailout of 130 billion Euros. In other words folks these politicians are hoping something turns up to change the present outlook for Greece, EVEN with the agreed austerity package between Greece and the EU/IMF/ECB, the deal will still leave Greece with a 120% of debt to GDP. The EU Ministers have looked over the cliff of a quick Greek default and decided to it would rather waste 130 billion Euros NOW, and then in a few months time Greece will be asking for more, no wonder the Eurozone is in a mess, no bold leaders, but weak leaders afraid to admit they got the Euro wrong. This crisis is over for NOW folks, but Greece will be back for more money, its just a matter of time folks. They say people get the leaders they deserve, well it seems that EU is heading for the toilet, pushed there by its people and leaders.

The Republican Race - Gallup
Gallup: Has its latest poll on the Republican Race, today Senator Rick Santorum leads Governor Romney by 35% to 29%, a 6% lead. If your in the Romney Camp you have to worry, what if you lose Romney’s home State to Santorum, and then on Super Tuesday you see both Santorum and Gingrich in the South taking States. The idea that the Republican Convention might meet with no Candidates having a majority NOW looks more likely. If this happens, what about nomination Governor Jeb Bush with Rick Santorum as VP. Just an idea folks.

UK vs. Israel
Telegraph: Reports that the UK Foreign Secretary William Hague has warned Israel that a strike on Iran would not be wise, and sanctions should be given time to work. This is typical pro Arab/Persian argument you get from the UK Foreign Office, they always take the anti Israel view, the Foreign Secretary it seems has gone native, or as they Civil Service say he has been house trained to give their line, that’s why UK PM’s don’t trust the FCO, they are pro Europe, anti Israel, appeasers given half the chance, lets hope Israel does not take a blind bit of notice of the UK Foreign Office.

Iran vs. UK and France
BBC News: Reports that Iran has announced that it will stop selling oil to UK and French companies. As the EU had already agreed to stop buying oil from Iran from 1July this move by Tehran is symbolic, they are looking to create good PR for the Regime back in Iran. The Oil and bank sanctions on Iran are having an effect, the question is will Israel wait, or are they worried that while the West is looking at sanctions the Tehran Regime will give the green light for Iran to go nuclear within a few months. Iran is a developing crisis folks, its going to get hotter folk, and the crunch point might come before the November election in the US. Its high stakes poker folks, and Israel is not bluffing.
US and Israel Talks
The White House: Has announced that National Security Advisor Tom Donilon will be in Israel this weekend, the Statement states the following on the trip, “ National Security Advisor Tom Donilon will travel to Israel from February 18-20 for consultations with senior Israeli officials about a range of issues, including Iran, Syria, and other regional security issues. National Security Advisor Donilon’s travel is the latest in a series of regular, high-level consultations between the United States and Israel, consistent with our strong bilateral partnership, and part of our unshakeable commitment to Israel’s security. ”. In other words folks the Oval wants to know when Israel will hit Iran, its not a matter of IF but WHEN folks. The US will have to places it forces on high alert when the attack happens, as Iran will strike back at the allies of Israel, thus the Persian Gulf could be closed, the Tehran Regime could strike Israel and the Gulf States. Lets see if Israel trusts the Oval enough to share the strike date.

The Pivotal State = Michigan
RCP: Reports on its average of the polls in Michigan. At this moment Senator Santorum leads Governor Romney by 37% to 28.8%, a lead of 8.2%. The reason that I call Michigan pivotal folks is the fact that Governor Romney was born there, and his father was a Governor of Michigan, thus in many respects this should be a lock for Romney, but if you have a look at all the polls on the RCP web site you will find that Santorum leads in all the Michigan polls. Here is the simple fact folks, Romney has to win this State or it could all be over, if Santorum wins or comes close then Romney could be either heading for a defeat in the race or not getting enough delegates to win the Nomination at the Republican Convention. The Governor has not helped himself in Michigan, he has stated in the past that the US Government should have allowed the car industry to go broke, this has not gone down well with the locals, it’s a major employer, also lets be honest here, Romney has less of a human touch than a DALEK on a bad day, even a Borg has its moments. The social Conservatives and Tea Party supporters are going for Santorum, they don’t trust Romney, thus Romney has a problem, he has to win Michigan, or it just might be all over, tense days ahead for Romney.

Berlin vs. Athens - Euro Crisis
Guardian: Reports that the 2nd Greek bailout could fall apart on Monday due to a “ ..growing evidence of a significant split between Merkel and her finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble … ”. The German Government is a Coalition Government, thus the German Chancellor can say anything she likes, but she has to take her own Party and her Coalition Partner with her, the questions that must be asked in Berlin is will there be another Greek bailout, will a new Greek Government after the General Election in April carry on with the austerity package agreed with the present Greek Government and the troika, can Greek politicians be trusted. The 1st question is simple, of course the Greeks will be back for more money, they are in the sewer when it comes to financial competence, as to the 2nd question, it depends who wins the election, when people are in despair they turn to extreme Parties, left or right, that's how Hitler came to power. As to the third question, simple, Would you trust a Greek politician, any politician? NO.
The DEBT of Greece - Euro crisis
Telegraph Live - Greece: Reports on the affect of a 2nd Greek bailout on the Greek debt, the 6.26pm post states the following, “ ..it was reported that the bail-out would only bring debt down to 129pc of GDP, far from the 120pc target. ” Thus folks Greece would still be in the toilet even after a proposed decade of austerity. It can be argued that Greece even with the austerity can not afford a debt of 129% of GDP, there has been talk out of EU than there will be a deal and Greece will get a bailout, if that happens it will show that EU leaders have lost their bottle. The Greeks will be back for more folks, and the next time the EU will just say NO, the Germans voter has gone beyond its limits, why should Germans voters bailout Greece who conned their way in to the Euro and have spent like drunken sailors for years. Time for tough medicine folks, Greece out of the Euro and for Greece to GROW UP.
Tax Cuts and Welfare Benefits
The New York Times: Reports that US House and Senate have passed an extension of the payroll tax cut and an extension of unemployment benefits. This issue was needed out of the way by Congressional Republicans, in 2011 the Oval could define the Republicans as wanting to hikes taxes on the working class because they argued that these taxes should be paid for with budget cuts, the Democrats wanted hikes taxes on the wealthier Americans, the Republicans would not do that, thus a bitter fight before Republicans caved on the issue, this limited deal in 2011 was reaching its deadline this month, the new deal with take the issue off the table for the year, the deal cuts public sector benefits and cuts the money for ObamaCare. Thus a good political move by the Republicans for once, some extreme liberals wont be happy, that helps Obama, shows to voters that he will do deals even in an election year. Everyone wins IN till next year folks.
46% Job Approval for POTUS - Gallup
Gallup: Report on its daily tracking poll on the job performance of President Obama, today POTUS has a 46% Approval rating, while 48% of Americans Disapprove of the Obama record. The vicious Republican fight and improving image of the US economy has helped Obama improve his poll numbers in various polls, of late he has been getting over 50%, this is seen as a good sign for re-election. The decline of US unemployment from around 9% to 8.3% has given the Oval a bounce, if this pace carries and its big IF folks then Obama could get a second term, lets stress the IF folks, the Congressional Budget Office has predicted that US unemployment rate will go back up to 9% before the November election, if this happens Obama is toast, but if they are wrong and the rate goes below 8% then it can be argued that Obama is following the Reagan path to re-election, if the rate hovers in the 7% as happened in 1984 Reagan could argue that the direction was down, this will be the Obama argument. Thus if Santorum is the nominee, and the economy has a major upswing then Obama will be leaving the White House on January 20th 2017.
Gallup = The Republican Race
Gallup: Reports on its poll of the Republican Race, at this moment former Senator Rick Santorum leads Governor Romney by 32% to 31%. Thus as Gallup notes folks we have a tied race, the question that Republican voters have to ask, do they want a pure Conservative Candidate, as is the case with Rick Santorum, who is totally Conservative and cant win against President Obama, or a reformed moderate who is now a Conservative in the shape of Governor Romney who can give POTUS a run for the Presidency, lets get real here folks, in our hearts we might want Santorum, but this race is about defeating President Obama, thus time to think Chicago politics, this means supporting Governor Romney, but keeping an eye on him if he gets elected, otherwise another four years of Obama, and his Agenda to move the US to a welfare society. GET REAL FOLKS.

Greece vs. Germany
Guardian Live - Greece: Reports that Germany, the Netherlands and Finland are behind the move to delay the bailout to Greece till after the Greek Elections in April. This will go down well in Greece, this move could imperil the whole deal, as the article notes Greek bond holders might say NO to a write off if there cuts are being used instead of EU money. Its all gets very in the weeds folks, but Greece has to pay its bond debts in March, someone has to pay it or Greece goes down the toilet, so we could be talking here of a Greek bailout of 160 billion Euros at the end of the day, the last 15 billion just to give Greece and the EU breathing room. And even then Greece will come back for more, you can bet on that folks.
Greece and the EU
Telegraph Live - Greece: Reports in its 1pm post that the leader of the Greek Conservative Party, Antonis Samaras has written to the EU and IMF and stated that if his Party wins the General Election they will keep to agreed austerity plan. This to be fair to Greece should be enough for the EU/IMF/ECB, the Greek Elite have gone against their voters, passed a tough Austerity package, they are in a national Government, they promise more cuts. On the face of it a good, deal, just one problem, as the saying goes, beware of Greeks baring gifts, A) It is a faint, B) The Greeks will be back for more later, C) The Greeks don’t keep their word. Thus folks lets see if there is enough trust between Athens and the EU, one has doubts.

They want US OUT - Greece
BBC News: Reports that the Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos has stated that some of the Eurozone Countries want Greece OUT of the EURO. Well that is breaking news folks, how long did it take him to work that out, lets see who wants Greece OUT, well Germany for starters, they are the major contributors to the Greek bailout and they don’t trust the Greeks, as the articles previous Greek economic promises have come to nothing, the German voters has so much WAR GUILT, sooner or later the German voter is going to turn on their politicians for bailing out Greece. It can be postulated that what ever the Greeks come up with, even a wooden horse, they Germans are not going to bite, they want Greece out, and fast, otherwise their cancer might destroy the entire Euro dream. Welcome to the REAL WORLD Greece, what’s taken you so long to wake up.

Afghanistan Front News
MOD: Has announced the name of the RAF Airman that was killed on Monday in Afghanistan, the Airman was “ Senior Aircraftman Ryan Tomlin, of 2 Squadron, Royal Air Force Regiment ”. Our thoughts are with the family of Senior Aircraftman Tomlin.
The EU and Greece
BBC News: Reports a EU meeting on Greece has been cancelled due to the fact that Greece has not given firm assurances on its Austerity plan in the view of the EU. Folks lets be real here, and honest, the EU does not trust Greece for one minute, it does not want to give them the 145 billion Euro bailout and find out that Greece comes back for more, and Greece will come back for more, there is a General Election in Greece in April, what happens if a new government disowns the agreement between the EU and the previous Government. Or worse a far right Government takes over and defaults anyway, this would mean that the EU would have thrown 145 billion Euros down the toilet. The EU is hoping that Greece will do Greece and the EU a favour and walk away from the Euro, otherwise Greece will back again with its begging bowl against for more billions, it will never end folks.
Once Upon A Secret by Mimi Alford
Have just finished the autobiography of Mimi Alford, a girlfriend of President John F. Kennedy from 1962 in till his death in 1963. I quote my previous comments on this book , “ This story will not add glory to the myth that was Camelot, quite the reverse, it will just confirm in modern terms that Kennedy was a sex addict, also how much the Washington Press covered up for him during his Presidency. On the other hand when Americans are asked who was the greatest President, its always between Kennedy and Reagan, both have their merit, but Reagan was the greatest for his eight years as President, while Kennedy was great for not invading Cuba in 1962 and doing a secret deal with the USSR to trade missiles in Turkey for those in Cuba. ..Lets just say Kennedy was very liberal when it comes to personal relationships, the article shows a President with no boundaries about personal actions and leading others astray. What is it about women and powerful men and the Oval Office, at least JFK just smoked a Cuban Cigar. ” After reading the book one has to say its very well written, what jumped out for this reader was the fact that Mrs Alford was set up to be the next girlfriend for JFK, after the Director of the FBI told the President that he had to stop seeing a girlfriend, Judith Campbell Exner due to the fact that she was also the girlfriend of the Head of the Chicago Mob, there needed to be a replacement, thus Mrs Alford. The FBI warning if this blog recalls was at the end of the March of 1962, and in June of 62 there came Mrs Alford. The lead up is like connecting the dots, the three most shocking parts of the book have been well told, that JFK was the first sexual relationship for Mrs Alford, lets say JFK was not gallant or ungallant, Mrs Alford seems unable to make a judgement, she was there, we have to take her verdict on the episode. The we come to the White House pool episode, this showed the very dark sexual nature of JFK, to have Mrs Alford perform oral sex on his close aide Dave Powers and then suggesting later that Mrs Alford perform that on his brother Senator Edward Kennedy. Its one thing to read a biography that has sexual allegations, its quite another to have one of President Kennedy’s girlfriends give you a blow by blow account in many respects of their relationship. It is a must read book on the personal side of Kennedy. This blog has never accepted the idea that there is a difference between the public and private side of a politician, it tends to come from Liberals, they have to justify FDR, JFK and Bill Clinton, its not like they win that often. The JFK in Mrs Alford book has charm, but is a sex addict, with a very dark nature, it was not Camelot folks; the affair damaged Mrs Alford for years, the myth of Camelot died many years ago, this book should place a stake through it once and for all.

UK Economic OUTLOOK = NEGATIVE
Telegraph: Reports that Moody’s the Credit Agency has placed the UK’s Economy on a negative prospects, also that the UK could lose its AAA credit rating. Folks the Coalition Government has to keep to its budget cuts, it has to reform the pension benefits in the public sector, also it could be argued to keep the markets happy it should look at slashing the welfare state, start to charge for non emergency use of the NHS, cosmetic operations should be charged at the commercial rate, also those that earn about the national average should be charged for using the NHS. Those who have reached 18 should not get welfare benefits, with exceptions for those with families, and those should be told, any more additions and you lose benefits. Lets look at Greece at what happens when the system has no more money in it, the social fabric of a society can start to fall apart, time for tough action folks or face economic disaster.

Austerity Greece
Guardian: Reports that the EU will decide on March 1 if Greece has meet its demands. Lets get real here folks, the EU and in this case we are talking about the Germans want Greece to walk out, they don’t trust the Greeks, the EU has demanded that all the Greek Parties agree to the Austerity plan before the April Elections, thus far the Conservative Party of Greece has balked at this agreement, thus the Greek Parliament could have passed this latest Austerity plan for nothing, it can be argued from the point of view of Germany and the rest of the EU that it would better for Greece to default, then the cancer of Greece would have been cut out, otherwise there is chance that Greece will back in a few months asking for another bailout, then one after that, that's the real future folks.
Obama and the 2013 US Budget
BBC News: Reports on President Obama’s 2013 Budget plan, the Budget at its core would raise taxes on the rich by allowing the Bush 43 taxes to lapse. This is what happens when a President is in the bubble folks and starts to believe his own press statements, the Republicans can NOW define Obama as a extreme tax and spend liberal, the idea of taxing the rich might go down well with the bloated liberal New York Times, but there is one thing that the Oval has forgotten, US Voters want to be rich, what is the point of working hard, making the American Dream if Uncle Sam taxes your money away to spend on welfare, it never ends folks, and there are never enough rich people, its always the Middle Class that take the hit, the Republicans should hammer the Oval over this idea, really define Obama before he can define himself. Also lets recall the rich can NOW create Super Pacs to attack Obama’s class warfare rhetoric.
Death in Afghanistan
MOD: Reports that a “ Airman from the Royal Air Force Regiment ” has been killed in action in Afghanistan. Thus since 2001 the UK has lost 398 of its Armed Forces Personnel in Afghanistan, of that total it has lost 358 in combat action and 40 due to illness, accidents or other incidents.

Violent Protests in Athens, Greece
Guardian: Reports the following from Greece, “ Police fired teargas at protesters outside the Greek parliament as MPs began debating the deeply unpopular bailout deal … ”. The Police have to come down hard on those that use violence to protest, a General Strike is one thing, that is the withdrawal of labour, the use of violence to gain a political point is not Democratic, the protesters should use their number to place pressure on Greek MPs to do the right thing, losing a vote is important to politicians, thus political pressure YES, NEVER violence.
The Destruction of Greece ?
Telegraph: Reports that the Greek PM Lucas Papademos has in essence stated that Greece is a vote away from destruction if the Greek Parliament does not pass his EU demanded austerity plan. If the plan got Greece back on its feet then this would blog would have no problem with it, but it does nothing of the kind, Greece will still be in debt, the Greek economy will further retract, thus more government spending on welfare, thus more money needed from the Troika, thus the EU/IMF/ECB will get more annoyed with Greece, and will demand more cuts, yes you get the idea folks. This is austerity plan to nowhere, just more suffering for the Greek people.
A - Day for Greek Parliament
BBC News: Reports that the Greek Parliament is debating the latest Austerity Plan by the Greek Government. The Bill is expected to pass folks, the Coalition Government of the right and left wing Parties of Greece have been frightened by the EU in to selling out Greece in favour of the EU. The latest plan wont get Greece back on its feet, even with the cuts Greece is expected to have a debt of 120% vs. its Gross Domestic Product, that all that Greece produces, if the Greek Government had any backbone it would default and save the Greek people from years or EU austerity, at least with a Greek austerity it would be the Greek Government in charge not the Germans and the French. Shame of the Greek MP's who support this latest austerity plan.

Obama and the Pill Part Three
Guardian: Reports the following on the Obama U - turn on the pill “ ( the )..compromise also risks alienating Democratic women who regard payment for contraception as an important right. ” It should be noted that woman Democratic Senators have come out in support of the original rule, they have been left high and dry, they will NOW have to march back their comments to be in line with the Oval Office. The left is US politics should go after President Obama on this issue and get him to do a U - turn, this shows that Obama takes women for granted, well he is a Chicago politician.
Obama and the Pill Part Two
Telegraph: Reports the following on the redrawn ObamaCare and the Pill, “ Obama has retreated from a new culture war with America's Christian Right…”. The point of the Presidency is to lead, to make the argument from the Oval Office, not to cave after less than a week of pressure, the internal White House polls must show that this issue was hurting the re-elect campaign, what should worry the Oval is what will be next, what else in ObamaCare will come back to bite Obama in the backside, this blog has no time for ObamaCare but if your going to do something then defend it, not surrender at the first sign of trouble.
Obama and the Pill
BBC News: Reports that the Obama Administration has changed its health rule that religious linked Institutions should pay for woman to have the birth control pill. This shows how weak President Obama is, he has caved, women should be covered by default, they should not have to asked, this is the 21 Century, President Obama should have gone to the mat on this, taken up the fight. The access to contraception and abortion should be legal right without question or obstacles placed in front of women. Shame on President Obama for allowing politics to cloud his judgement.
Greek General Strike
Daily Mail: Reports on the two day General Strike in Greece in reaction to the new Greek Austerity Plan. The Unions should not go back to work folks, they should convince their members to stay out in till Greece leaves the Euro, even the new tough Austerity plan is not seen as enough by the EU. As noted a few days ago the Germans and France are considering the idea that Greece places its revenue in a special account to pay off its debts, this would be a national humiliation for Athens, in essence Greece would not have control of its money supply, also the EU wanted to place a EU official to have the final say over Greek spending and taxes, this would make Greece a colony of the EU, what would the classic Greeks have made of such a humiliation.
Arresting the Troika ? = Greece
Guardian Live - Euro: Reports that the largest Police Union in Greece has threatened to arrest members of the Troika. One has to ask is the social fabric of Greece coming apart, of course idea arresting the Troika might sound like a fun idea, but they should have decent lawyers to get out, what ever one’s thoughts about that, but this does send a message, if the Police don’t stop the violent protests who will, cant see Greek MP's fighting the protesters. It would be the most day’s work they have done in some time.
The Greek Right and the Eurozone Crisis
Telegraph Live - Euro: Reports that George Karatzaferis the leader of the far right Party in the Greek Parliament has stated he can not support the austerity package. In other words he can see a chance to gain in the forthcoming Greek Elections, any Political Party or Leader that supports the Austerity package could see its political ambitions demise. Thus in pure political terms it would be wise for the political leaders to tell the EU to watch the violent protests in Athens, by austerity the EU could be forcing Greece in to a military coup, or worse get Greece to elect the very far right, lets recall Germany in the 1930s. The Greek Elite have to make a choice, Greece or the EU, its one or the other folks.
Greek Riots and the Eurozone Crisis
BBC News: Reports on violent protest on the streets of Athens, Greece after the Greek Government agreed a new austerity package, that was considered not enough by the EU. Thus folks it comes down to a simple fact, the EU does not trust the Greek Government to follow through, the EU is demanding a further 325 million Euros be cut from Greek spending, also that all Greek political parties almost sign a blood oath to follow through with the austerity. Lets get real here folks, the EU wants Greece to walk out, even the present bailout is not considered enough, the Greek economy has retracted more that when the Greek deal was done in October of 2011, thus Greece needs a bigger bailout, who is going to pay, the Germans stated last night that Greece has not meet the requirements of the deal, thus more demands. The Greeks need to do itself and the EU a favour and default, that would allow for fresh talks, and restart, otherwise the Greek crisis will go on like a bad soap opera.

Romney vs. Santorum - The Republican Race
The New York Times: Reports that the Romney Campaign is going to go after Rick Santorum after his triple win, also they are going to hit back hard. This is why Governor Romney will win the Republican Nomination folks, after South Carolina he went after Speaker Gingrich and took him apart in Florida, so expect the effective Romney Campaign to go after the Santorum record while Mr Santorum was in the US Senate. The Romney Campaign play to win, thus expect Rick Santorum to get hit hard for his deals while in the US Senate. The Obama Re-Elect play hard folks, its good to know that when Romney faces POTUS the gloves will come off, its Chicago political rules folks, last man standing wins.
Greek Haircut and the Eurozone Crisis
Guardian Live - Euro: Reports in its 5.01pm post that the Credit Agency S&P has stated that the Greek haircut of 70% is “ ..not sustainable unless the ECB also takes a hit ”. In other words if the European Central Bank does not write off the debts of Greece all the pain that Greece has gone through over the past few years wont matter, the debt will still suffocate Greece. This news will be read with interest in Greece, what is the point of agreeing to a deal if the ECB wont take hit, the reason that ECB wont take a hit is the fact that the Germans wants to protect the stability and credit worthiness of the ECB, thus Berlin has refused to grant Euro bonds and will be wary about allowing ECB to write off its Greek bond debts. One gets the feeling that the leaders meeting in Athens will take some time folks.
EU Meeting on Greece - Thursday
Telegraph Live - Euro: Reports in its 5.12pm post that the Eurozone Finance Ministers will meet tomorrow to discuss Greece. The EU Ministers must be really fed up with Greece, they promise reform and what happens, bugger all, they have not followed through with assets sales, it was predicted that Greece had 50 billion of Euro assets to sell, so far only 1 billion is on the table. The Greek political system is stalling any reforms, as any Party that support these EU demanded reforms will find itself out of power for years. The Greeks Government conned itself in to the Euro, the cheap loans of the Euro allowed Greece to spend like a drunken sailor on its welfare structure, people could retire at 50, non jobs were created, the welfare system once created is very hard to take back folks. The Greeks need to learn the hard way that the glory days are well and truly over, its time to pay and its going to be harsh folks.
Triple WIN for Santorum - The Republican Race
BBC News: Reports on Senator’s Rick Santorum wins in Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado. As ex Speaker Gingrich predicted it was a good night for Rick Santorum, he had double digit wins in Missouri and Minnesota and took Colorado from Romney, the question is what is the end game for Senator Santorum, even with the best will in the world this blog does not think Santorum will win the Republican nomination, the Republican voter wants a winner to face President Obama, Mitt Romney has the money and the campaign structure, thus this blog still states he is the presumptive Republican Nominee, thus what of Rick Santorum, one can postulate that the ex US Senator wants the VP spot, it can be argued by the Santorum Campaign in private that with him on the ticket the Conservative Tea Party movement will back the Republican Nominee in November. Thus VP spot on the ticket might not be the choice of Romney, lets see of Santorum can win more States and if Romney has a firewall in later Industrial States. It could be a very long fight folks, and lets not forget Newt Gingrich folks, his argument is that once we get to Southern States he will win further States after South Carolina, time will tell folks. This could be Republican rerun of the Carter/Kennedy fight of 1980, while the presumptive nominee/President has to deal with an insurgent fight his chances for election- re-election are destroyed before the General Election. Or in Republican terms, the Ford vs. Reagan fight of 1976. It should be noted that in 1976 Carter had a very narrow win over Ford. Thus a tough fight does not mean doom. Nothing is that new in US politics folks.

Romney vs. Santorum - The Republican Race
The Hill: Reports that the Romney Campaign is aiming its political arrows at ex US Senator Rick Santorum, the article notes the following, “ Santorum is poised to do well in two out of the three GOP nominating contests on Tuesday. ”. There are three elections today folks, Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri, the first two are caucuses States with delegates, although the article notes the result is not biding on the delegates, while the Missouri Primary is a straw poll, a beauty contest in may respects, also the Speaker is not on the Ballot. As posted yesterday the Speaker Gingrich has predicted that Rick Santorum will have a good night, if the ex Senator can cause an upset this will keep the race open, this might help Speaker Gingrich, if Romney does not win all three he can argue that once the process gets to Southern States he will start to win the big states, such as Texas. Lets recall folks the Obama/Clinton fight went down to the wire, also it can be argued that Senator Santorum might be looking to be Romney’s VP pick, that would make the Conservative base happy, also leave Speaker Gingrich in the cold. Long night folks, make sure you have plenty of coffee!.
Decision Time and Greece
Guardian Live - Euro: Reports that Greek political leaders will meet at 9pm Greek time, that’s 7pm UK to discuss the final austerity plan for Greece. As the post notes the meeting could take hours, thus another delay in a final decision, and even then leaders might have discuss any deal with their Party Establishment, thus it could take days folks. Lets see who cares more about the EU than Greece. Yes folks that is a judgement on the EU demands on Greece, Greece has been in austerity for years and its economy is contracting, Greece needs growth and out of the Euro, anything else is just a delay in till Greece has to default.
The Fall of Greece ? - Eurocrisis
Telegraph Live - Euro: Reports in its 1.40pm post that the Greek Government has drafted its final response to the demands of the Troika, the response will be given to the Greek Party Leaders later today. Lets see if the left or right wing Parties give their approval to this document, it can be postulated that any Political Party that agrees that the Greeks should suffer for the sake of the Euro will do badly in the forthcoming Greek Election. Of course the leaders could stall and want further talks, thus we will be here tomorrow discussing the same thing, Greece IN or OUT of the Euro.
Greece Exiting the Euro?
BBC News: Reports on split views coming out of the EU, on one hand that Greece should stay in the Euro, on the other that Greece leaving would not affect other Euro Countries. Lets get real here folks, the EU is adding further austerity as to get Greece to walk out of the room, then they have clean hands, the article notes that the EU wants further spending cuts and labour market reform, already Greece has a General Strike, the people are refusing to pay new taxes and people are taking their Euros abroad. This can only end badly for Greece, its just how much its hurts the EU and the Euro.

A WIN for Santorum ? - Republican Race
CNN: Reports that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has stated that former US Senator Rick Santorum could win in the caucuses States tomorrow. This would be an upset, one would think the Republican voters in Colorado and Minnesota would want to support a winner, but as the article notes the Romney Campaign has turned its attention to Rick Santorum due to his poll numbers getting better for Tuesday. If Santorum can win it would create a challenge for Conservative voters between him and Speaker Gingrich, this helps Governor Romney as it split’s the vote in the race. It seems Tuesday will be a long night folks.

Syria and the West
The New York Times: Reports that the US and the UK have withdrawn their Ambassadors from Syria due to the oppression of the Syrian people by its Government. Folks in itself it makes a point, but does it stop the Assad Regime killing its own people, NO, what will stop that, firstly a No Fly Zone as was placed on Libya, then the threat of action, if you take that off the table the Assad Regime will just laugh at any Western Opposition. The Russians and China will have to placed on one side, NATO has to have plans for a air and ground operation in Syria. If the US/UK and France can get rid of Gaddafi they can get rid of the Assad Regime. It is a matter of doing the right thing, it will take action folks, not hot hair of harsh rhetoric.
France and Germany vs. Greece
Daily Mail: Reports that Germany and France have demanded that the Greek Government place its revenue in a special account to pay off its bond debts. In other words Germany and France want to control the money supply in Greece, they would rather see Greece face years of harsh austerity to protect the Euro. The good people of Greece have to wake up and smell the coffee, the EU is no friend of Greece, the sole interest of EU is the protection of the Euro, thus they will make the poor Greek people pay for the failures of the EU and their own Government. Thus it can be postulated that more Greek private funds will find their way out of Greece and it to safer banks and Countries. The people of Greece should come out and protest in a peaceful manner, even a General Strike, bring ALL of Greece to a standstill, Greece deserves better from its politicians and the EU.
Greece CLOSE to DEFAULT ?
Guardian: Reports the following on the Greek political crisis, “ ..Greece might finally be heading for the disorderly default international creditors, lead by Germany in the EU, have tried to avert. ”. The local Greek politicians don’t want their fingerprints on any more austerity for Greece, any Party or Party leader that’s sings the demands of the troika of EU/IMF/ECB could find himself/herself out of a job at the forthcoming elections in Greece. Lets get real here folks, the Troika don’t trust the Greek Government to follow through with any austerity package, the Greek Government has promised reform, but that has stalled, Greece has suffered years of austerity and the people of Greece have had enough, it could be argued that any more austerity forced on Athens could lead to mass street protests and violence, also it plays in to the extreme Parties in Greece, also one should not forget that of late there have been rumours of Military Coup in Greece. The only thing that will save Greece is for it default, and restart its economy, otherwise the present Greek Crisis could send Greece in to social turmoil and spell the end of the Euro.
Iran Bank Sanctions - US
BBC News: Reports that President Obama has placed further tougher sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran, the sanctions freeze assets and trades within the US. Lets see if Iran reacts, so far all Iran has done is sabre rattle, lets see if they have the nerve to taken on the Western Naval presence in the Persian Gulf. The tougher the sanctions on Iran, the more it has a stark choice, either have real talks with the UN or take military action, the next step is the hands of Iran.

Greek Default ?
Guardian: Reports the following on the Greek Crisis, “ Greek insiders confirmed that the possibility of bankruptcy loomed larger than at any other time. ”. In essence folks the troika of the EU/IMF/ECB don’t trust the Greeks to follow through with its reforms, the EU itself is getting to the point that its throwing good billions down the toilet, past reforms by the Greek Government have not been followed through, the Greek political system is stalling, the people don’t way to pay new taxes. Thus folks its 50/50 that Greece will default, this has been going on for to long, it’s a Greek tragedy that will end badly for Greece.
Obama on Syrian Civil War
The White House: Statement by President Obama on Syria. Here is part of the Statement by the President, “ ..Yesterday the Syrian government murdered hundreds of Syrian citizens, including women and children, in Homs through shelling and other indiscriminate violence, and Syrian forces continue to prevent hundreds of injured civilians from seeking medical help. These brutal killings take place at a time when so many Syrians are also marking a deeply meaningful day for their faith. I strongly condemn the Syrian government’s unspeakable assault against the people of Homs and I offer my deepest sympathy to those who have lost loved ones. Assad must halt his campaign of killing and crimes against his own people now. He must step aside and allow a democratic transition to proceed immediately….We owe it to the victims …to learn one lesson: that cruelty must be confronted for the sake of justice and human dignity. Every government has the responsibility to protect its citizens, and any government that brutalizes and massacres its people does not deserve to govern. The Syrian regime’s policy of maintaining power by terrorizing its people only indicates its inherent weakness and inevitable collapse. Assad has no right to lead Syria, and has lost all legitimacy with his people and the international community. We must work with the Syrian people toward building a brighter future for Syria. A Syria without Assad could be a Syria in which all Syrians are subject to the rule of law and where minorities are able to exercise their legitimate rights and uphold their identities and traditions while acting as fully enfranchised citizens in a unified republic. The United States and our international partners support the Syrian people in achieving their aspirations and will continue to assist the Syrian people toward that goal. We will help because we stand for principles that include universal rights for all people and just political and economic reform. The suffering citizens of Syria must know: we are with you, and the Assad regime must come to an end. ”. The Veto by Russia and China of the Arab League plan for Syria shows that neither fear President Obama, they figure that Oval is full of hot air, his leadership from behind over Libya showed that Obama cares more about his liberal base that the rights of others. The people of Syria have to take their freedom, this US President sold out Poland and the Czech Republic to have better ties with Russia, the Russians have showed their contempt for the Oval under Obama.
Kennedy’s Games - Kennedy’s WOMAN ( Graphic Detail )
Sunday Mail: Reports in detail on the relationship between President Kennedy and Mimi Alford. Lets just say Kennedy was very liberal when it comes to personal relationships, the article shows a President with no boundaries about personal actions and leading others astray. What is it about women and powerful men and the Oval Office, at least JFK just smoked a Cuban Cigar.
Iran vs. Israel
Guardian: Reports that Iran has threatened to attack any Country that attacks its nuclear bases. Thus folks this a threat to Israel and the US should it take part in any attack, the rhetoric its getting hotter folks, the threat to close down the Persian Gulf by the Tehran Regime if sanctions hurts its oil revenue, the Western Naval Display in the Gulf as a warning to Tehran, the statement by the US Defence Secretary that Israel could strike Iran between April and June of this year, one almost expects something to happen, it only takes a low level official in Tehran to make a mistake, or a local Commander in the Gulf attacking a Western Naval Vessel. Lets recall folks once events start they are hard to close down, incidents can lead to plans that require further escalation, and before you know it you have a Middle East War on your hands.
JFK’s WOMEN
Sunday Telegraph: Reports on the memoir of Mimi Alford one of President Kennedy’s mistress’s, how he used and abused her in many respects. This story will not add glory to the myth that was Camelot, quite the reverse, it will just confirm in modern terms that Kennedy was a sex addict, also how much the Washington Press covered up for him during his Presidency.

The Syrian Problem = UN
The New York Times: Reports that the latest UN Security Council Resolution on Syria has gotten a negative reaction from Russia. Thus folks the UN Security Council is not going to ACT, Russia has a veto, and the Putin Government wants to keep President Assad of Syria in power, it has economic and military reasons, it sells Arms to Syria has a warm water naval base in Syria, its only one. The Syrian people if they want freedom have to take it, the West under UN cover will not act, the Tehran Regime in Iran is supporting Syria by sending in snipers according to reports, this is hard to conform. One can see Syria falling in to a long term civil war, if this happens NATO might have to act with or without Russian support, a civil war could lead the Syrian Regime to attack Israel as a form of a diversion and to gain support. Thus with Iran and Syria its tense time in the Middle East folks.

Iran THREAT to US
Daily Mail: Reports that Moshe Ya'alon the Deputy PM of Israel has stated that the Tehran Regime is testing long range missiles that can hit the US. Folks the building up is developing, the US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta has stated to the US Washington Post that Israel could hit Iran between April and June of this year, as to why the Defence Secretary has stated this has caused much debate, is it a warning to Israel to back off, that wont work and will make the Oval less trusted by Israel, or is it a warning to Tehran to give up its nuclear hopes or face a Israeli strike. One gets the feeling with the Tehran Threat to close the Persian Gulf, the closing deadline before Iran becomes a nuclear armed power that something has to give, could Israel tolerate a nuclear armed Iran, NO, thus either Iran comes totally clean or Israel strikes. If Israel takes action President Obama will be in tight spot, his liberal base will want the US to be critical of Israel, if Oval takes that route in an election year its over for President Obama, he will lose the Presidency, if POTUS supports Israel then the left might not come out to vote for Obama in November, yes folks this crisis is that crucial for the Obama Presidency. Time IS ticking away folks.
US Unemployment DOWN to 8.3%
Guardian: Reports on the downturn in US unemployment, the article states the following, “ …hiring in January and bringing the unemployment rate down for the fifth month in a row, to a three-year low of 8.3%. ”. This is good news for the Oval folks, it helps the Chicago Re-Elect Committee, but and there is always a BUT, the Congressional Budget Office has predicted that by Election Day the rate will be back up to 8.9% and going over the 9% in 2013. The CBO could be wrong, but what if they are right, it should be noted that past US unemployment figures have been low due to the fact that people have given up looking for work, what happens if they come back, YES the rate goes up. The Chicago Re-Elect Committee would have loved this news in September or October of this year, but to be fair it allows the Democrats to have a story arc, they can say that Oval is turning the economy around, that voters should trust President Obama and stick with him, lets see the unemployment over the next couple of months folks.
The Coalition Government and Chris Huhne
Telegraph: Reports that the Conservatives are happy at the demise of Energy Secretary Chris Huhne, he was seen as leaking against his Conservatives Cabinet Colleagues, also his divorce caused splits within the Liberal Democrats. That’s the downside of being a maverick folks, when your popular or seen as effective you have supporters, but when the tea bags hit the fan you find your support is shallow, thus it will be interesting to see as the Trial develops and evidence comes out in Court how the Liberal Democrat leadership deals with the consequences. Lets go beyond the trial, and lets look at what happens IF, and its big IF folks the Court has a negative result for Chris Huhne, from the talking heads it seems the result could be jail time, if that happens Mr Huhen is out of the House of Commons either way, he resigns or is thrown out. This will lead to a By - Election, as the seat is a close Conservative/LibDem fight it could cause tensions between the partners in the Coalition. It could be argued that the Conservative Party could win the Seat, considering the fallout of the Case. IF found Not Guilty Mr Huhne will expect to get his Cabinet post back, that could cause problems for Mr Clegg, the Coalition Agreements the LibDems five seats in the Coalition Cabinet, someone will have to be thrown overboard, thus more tensions for the LibDems. The future might not be to bright for either the LibDems or Mr Huhne.
Huhne Trial
BBC News: Reports on today’s announcement by the Crown Prosecution Service that Chris Huhne and his ex wife, Vicky Pryce will be charged with perverting the course of justice, the allegation is that Mr Huhne transferred his car penalty points to his then ex wife. After the news broke Mr Huhne resigned as Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, although Deputy PM Nick Clegg stated that should Mr Huhne be fond not guilty he could come back in to the Coalition Government this should be seen as a political promise, in other words not worth the paper its written on, the Clegg Camp although not happy with the Cabinet demise of Mr Huhne must feel somewhat less than unhappy, Mr Huhne was seen as a political threat to Mr Clegg, if a Liberal Democrat walked out of the Cabinet it was either going to be the Energy Secretary or the Business Secretary Vince Cable. Thus the Coalition Government should have more of a united front, in a odd way this helps the Liberal Democrats, there are those within the Liberal Democrats who want to point out the differences between the LibDems and the Conservative Party, but they are making a mistake, all left wing voters are going to go back to the Labour Party, thus the Liberal Democrats if they want to have a political future have to move centre right, not left, also they have to get over Europe, the LibDems might want to be run from the EU, this is not the case with the rest of the UK. This just might be a good day for the LibDems, if not so for Mr Huhne and his ex wife.

UK and the Afghan War
Guardian: Reports that No 10 has stated the following on the UK’s role in Afghanistan, the article states the following, “ ..have ended their lead combat role.. by the end of next year ”. Thus folks NATO policy is being driven by the US election cycle, the Obama Administration wants out of Afghanistan, the War Obama wanted to fight and his two surges has become a victim of Obama’s low poll numbers, the liberal base of the Democratic Party wants out of Afghanistan, it wants to spend the money on welfare. Thus the Taliban must be laughing their backsides off, why bother talking to NATO, they just have to wait for the West to leave, then they will take over in Kabul, and you can bet the mortgage folks that the Taliban and Al Qaeda will be back in partnership, thus an increase in terrorism, also a threat to the Government of Pakistan. Thus folks you can expect more flashpoints between 2014 to 2018 when it comes to the region, the Taliban of Pakistan could take over Pakistan and thus gain control of their nuclear weapons, thus the threat of nuclear terrorism, all this so President Obama can look good to his liberal base, shame on the White House.
Greece vs. EU
Telegraph: Reports that a deal between the Greek Government and its bond debt holders is close, but another threat comes as the article states from “ ..simmering clash with EU officials and the International Monetary Fund has yet to be resolved and remains a larger threat. ”. The Troika of the EU/IMF/ECB is less than impressed with the progress that Greece has made with its reforms, out of billions of State assets only 1 billion has been sold off, the Greek Government system is showing resistance to chance at the most basic level. The article notes that the Troika wants further cuts in Government spending, up to 1% of the GDP of Greece, the Troika is aware that there will come a point that Greece will just say NO. Thus why give them another 130 billion that will go to the bankers, better that Greece defaults then the Troika can support Greece, start from scratch rather than this water torture of constant cuts, and Greek resistance, it will not end well for either Greece or the Troika if this policy is not changed.
The Judgement on Chris Huhne - Friday
BBC News: Reports that Energy Secretary Chris Huhne will learn tomorrow if he will be charged with getting his then wife to take his car penalty points. This saga has been going on for an age folks, at lest it will be over tomorrow, either Mr Huhne will be charged or absolved any wrong doing, if and it’s a BIG IF the Secretary of State is charged he will have to resign from the Cabinet, thus another Liberal Democrat will take his place, it could be expected that the former Minister David Laws could take his place, this would be good for the Coalition, as Mr Laws is a team player, all eyes on the TV for the news at 10am folks.

Romney WIN in Florida - Republican Race
BBC News: Reports on Governor Romney beating former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in Florida, by 46% to 32%, a lead of 14%. This was a BIG win for the Governor, now his Campaign has to turn its attention to President Obama, if they thought the Florida fight was rough they have not seen anything yet, the Chicago political mob play dirty. Thus expect a lot of TV Adverts with the message that Romney is part of the 1% rich Americans while 99% of Americans are poor. The Adverts can expect to have those fired by Romney while he was in business, also the charge that he is a flip flopper, that he has gone extreme to win the Republican nomination. The Romney Campaign should expect the left to call Romney racist for wanting illegal immigrants to self deport, for business to crack down on illegal workers, the usual emotive attacks from liberals. Its going to get harder for the Romney Campaign folks.
