This is great news from the King, the King could do with some good news, after recent news about his brother Andrew!  The Country will be pleased with the news, it needs some good news, given the domestic and international situation.  The message is simple, get yourself checked out in case you have cancer. The early you check, better the end result.  GOD SAVE THE KING.

So it's to be PM Sunak - After Brexit/After Boris

BBC News - Live Blog: Reports in its 9.27pm post the following after Boris Johnson withdrawal from the Conservative Leadership contest, " This makes Sunak the firm favourite.....This all makes Rishi Sunak the firm favourite. But Penny Mordaunt will be trying over the next few hours to win over Mr Johnson’s backers and show she has a significant chunk of Tory MPs behind her.  "

Lets Get Real:

It can be argued that former PM Boris is well out of it, the outlook for the economy is not good, the new PM will deal with a hike in taxes and cuts to public spending.  Boris will not be tainted by the new Government, also he has the Privileges Committee to deal with, with Boris as not PM, one can expect less coverage, if he had been elected PM the news would have been all about that, thus PM Sunak, that will be have a clear field, but let's not forget that he backstabbed Boris a few months ago, and started the road to his resignation, also the non dom status of his wife, you can be your bottom dollar that the left wing press and TV will go through that again, it's not everyday that PM is on the Sunday Times rich list.  Also like Boris he was fined over Partygate.  HE BROKE THE LAW! The press will bring that up again, the Guardian, BBC News, Channel 4 News and even some of the right wing papers, who will be very wary of Sunak, will he be firm on Northern Ireland Protocol, he will defend BREXIT, he is after all a BREXIT support but that was years ago, he will be judged by his action over the next two years.  It can be postulated that the Conservatives will lose in Jan 2025, the last date a election can be called, and they will be sent in to Opposition, that is the time for Boris to become the leader again, the Conservatives will be looking for a WINNER, they have turned their back on a great leader, they will pay the political price, they have lost one vote in this blog.

This does feel like AUSTERITY PART 2, the furlough during has added four hundred billion to the UK's debt, and now the Chancellor stated yesterday that the gas price cap will only go up to April next year.  It has been postulated that the 3% increase in defence spending will be splashed, also what happens about April of next year, is the Government really going to allow the price that people pay for gas to go up in the thousands without helping, what about business, it looks like it's going to be very a COLD WINTER, and now Turkeys are under threat from bird flu, what good deed the UK do get this kind of mess on hour hands, 4 chancellors in four months, a PM in office but not in power.  The Country should expect some tough cuts, even the NHS and benefits might not rise with inflation, as that would cost a fortune.  It might be time for a LABOUR GOVERNMENT, never thought I would write those words. 

The Agenda of the New Chancellor - Jeremy Hunt - Liz Truss Era/After Boris

Lets Get Real:

The UK has had four Chancellors in 1 year, the Mini Budget has been ripped up and Conservative Budget will be replaced by a orthodox Treasury Budget.  One hopes that the Gas cap will be kept for two years, and the basic rate of income tax will be kept at 19p in the pound and not the 20p before the Budget.  This Blog would not be shocked if WELFARE was CUT, the Johnson Administration promised that welfare would keep up with inflation, that might not happen, as we have inflation heading for 11%.  The NHS and Defence could take hits, this would backtrack on the PM's promise to increase defence spending by 3%.  Also other Departments can expect their budgets either to be CUT or no increase in their Budget for this year.  One can say that the Labour Party will keep calling for a General Election, in less some Conservative MPs have gone mad they will not vote for that, given the past few days, some might have lost the plot.  As to the future of the PM, one can say that in less she gets her ACT together, she will not be PM in a few months time, since her succession she has been a disaster in the job, even the King was depressed to she her.

UK Chancellor and Brexit - Conservative Party Conference/After Brexit

Lets Get Real:

This was a good speech by the CHANCELLOR, confirming that he is a firm Brexit supporter but also a Conservative who wants to cut taxes when the economy is right or before the next general election.  The Remain press are always blaming Brexit for the fuel shortage in London and the South of England, what few do not say is that the rest of Europe has the same problem, and that there is enough fuel, this not the 1970s all over again.  The Johnson Government is showing that it is secure when it comes the economy and is united in wanting tax cuts when the time is right, well before a general election in either 2023 or 2024.   One can only hope that this Conference is more successful that the Labour Party under Sir Keir Starmer, the Conservatives were a couple of points of Labour in a recent poll, thus no bounce for the Labour Party. 

Tax hikes for the NHS and Social Care - Post Brexit

The cost to the country due to COVID - 19 in health and the economy has been extensive, the introduction of this NHS and SOCIAL CARE TAX goes against the spirt of being a Conservative, the PM promised in the 2019 manifesto that the Conservative Government would not hike taxes on National Insurance, BUT that was before a pandemic we have not seen since 1918.  The spin is excellent, who will vote against money for the NHS, the Leader of Opposition was pointless and was only on his feet for 5 minutes, they did not have a PLAN, they have had weeks to think of something, anything really, it was a busted flush by Sir Keir Starmer.  On this Boris just might get away with it, there will be a vote on the issue tomorrow, one does wonder if any Conservative MP will vote against it, the tax is for the NHS.

The pharmaceutical firms in the UK should be doing the above without the UK Government having to tell them.  It is there commercial interest to have the products need by the NHS.  Also the patients of the NHS will need their medical support through out Brexit.  The UK Government has to be firm with these companies, it can not leave it for the last minute, what if the EU causes because they have not gotten the deal they wanted, if the place blocks on drugs coming to the UK form the EU.   The French fisherman are acting up on being blocked from UK waters after Brexit, the EU can not be trusted, so UK companies get ready, have supplies on hand, things could get nasty after December 31st.

The Labour Party might have won the argument on Austerity but they FAILED to win 4 General Elections.   The Conservative Government can be trusted to open the flood gates when it comes to spending because it has followed through with a tough austerity plan and thus has the money ready for such a crisis as COVAD - 19.   The Chancellor has stated that the NHS can have all the money it wants when it comes to COVAD - 19.   There are welfare reforms for those hit by COVAD - 19.   The Government has promised a 175 billion for roads and buildings.  There is good news for drinkers. there will be no increase in the cost of beer or wine, also car drivers will be happy, no extra charge for petrol.   This was a big budget by the Chancellor, 30 billion to cover COVAD - 19 and its effect on the economy, the Labour Party will wonder what happened to their policies, they were stolen in large part by PM Boris.

This blog has been very honest in the past, it has severe OCD and if it thought that the Coronavirus was another Spanish Flu it would say so and lock itself in the HOUSE, it does not and thus will take with a pit of caution that we have another Spanish Flu.   The NHS in the UK and the rest of the Western World has built up their systems over the years, thus the idea that people should start to wear medical masks in the UK, seem a bit out of it.   The cases in Italy one can see the point, even if they have not found patient ZERO yet.   Thus stay calm and keep a even course.

The question is are we seeing another Spanish Flu ( 1918 ), that killed millions, more than died in World War one.  This blog would suggest caution, modern medicine is a lot better that after WW1.   Also Governments around the World are taking care who enters their Countries.   The death toll of the latest virus might be in the low thousands by the time it ends, and it will end, but not in the millions, the virus would have to mutate to get around the latest regulations by Government.  Thus if your are watching the TV 24 hour rolling news, it is to early to order your casket, the problem will be solved.

The LEFT wing press have been all over this story, it lead on the 10pm news show, one would have thought a volcano going off in one of our former colonies would have LEAD the news, of course not, this is the left leaning BBC, they take their inspiration from Guardian, another left wing paper.   The NHS is always used by Labour when it is in Trouble, they face a major defeat on Tuesday so ALL RULES get thrown out of the Window, of course the Twitter World is full of the story, simple minds can be swayed quite easily.    There is never enough money for the NHS, that is the point, the NHS is a free service, it keeps people alive, thus when they get older they need more care, and tax paying voters care for the NHS but do not want to vote for more money, it will NEVER be enough.   The political lesson for the day!!

Conservative Party Conference - Update 2 - Post Brexit

After Brexit the Conservative Party should return to its roots, low taxes, strong government, strong defence, allow the young to rent or buy homes, place pressure on the multi national companies to pay more in tax, instead of sending money to the EU it should divert it to the NHS.    The PM was good when she was attacking Jeremy Corbyn, there needs to be more of that, and not the internal warfare within the Conservative Party.   Lets get BREXIT DONE.  Lets win for Lady Thatcher.

The PM should strike BACK HARD, she should state while the Labour Party is having its annual conference that the UK will leave the EU with no deal and that it will give the monies it was going to give to the EU to the NHS.   Then force Labour and the Liberal Democrats to come out in support of the EU.  It is trench warfare out there and the EU is not playing by the rules, time to hit them in their most important place, that is money, make them beg for OUR money.  It is time for the PM not to give an inch, time to fight fire with fire.   The Germans and the French are playing hardball, well let's remind them the UK can play hardball, we did win two World Wars, we know how to PLAY HARD.

The Conservatives will never win a competition with Labour as to who can hike taxes to fund the NHS.   The British voter does not want that, the typical voter gets the fact that there will never be enough money for the NHS, what is important is how the money it gets know is spent.   This move by the PM May goes against the Manifesto in the last General Election, the voter will remember next time there is an election.   Also the elite left wing media will never give the PM credit for the idea, the run segments that give the impression that the NHS is letting people down, it never states that with health there is never enough money, it's the nature of the beast.

The idea of tax hikes to fund the NHS is a bad idea, the Conservatives if they are anything, want to cut the tax burden on voters, the NHS will never be fully funded, it grows with the development of new drugs and new cures.   The Labour Opposition promise the earth, with tax hikes, that is why the Labour Party has lost every election since 2010.   The Brexit dividend might work in theory, but in practice it will take years for there to be a dividend.  Tax hikes is a BAD IDEA, the voters will not be happy.

The UK PM has lost the plot, she now wants to give 40 billion pounds to the EU, IF it is  a choice of between a trade deal and no deal this blog supports no deal.  The UK PM should argue that she is going to give 40 billion pounds to the NHS or for the defence of the UK.   The hard Brexit Ministers of the Cabinet should resign as a way to show protest.   Those backbench MPs who want to stop this foolish move should threaten to get a new leader, the UK wants out, these endless talks are seeing the UK make all the concessions.  Time for the UK Government to wake up, leave the EU and leave it NOW.

The EU is playing HARDBALL, they want billions from the UK as a divorce settlement, the UK should just walk away, the Conservative Government should dare the Labour Party to support giving billions to the EU, make it a choice, billions to the EU or the NHS, take the smirk off the face of the Labour leadership.   It has been reported in the UK press that the EU has had talks with the Labour Opposition, one has to wonder what Labour behind closed doors have offered.    The Government should fight Labour on this issue, what matters more to Labour, the EU or the NHS.

One wonders if the hacking of the NHS will have an affect, will voters accept that nothing is 100% secure, the hack was around the World, and greatest victim was Russia, one can be sure that the FSB will be looking under every PC it can find to check.  The question is who would hack Russia, that is a long list, also who is stupid enough to allow that attack to hit the NHS and other important services around the World.  One can say for sure the FBI in the US, Scotland Yard and MI6 will be looking for the criminals.   It has been reported that the hack as of yesterday has only earned the hackers about 20K.  Thus there will be  a lot of HEAT out there, as there should be, the NHS is part of the heritage of the UK.   Thus far no impact on the polls. 

MR OCD - Testing Stage

As those that read this blog know the writer has severe OCD, in looking for a North Wales suppport Group it has found that there is a lack of a on line help, it was suggested that I start a one line site for those in North Wales that would like to discuss the condition.  As having the condition in the real world might cause job or family problems this blog is keeping it under its on line presence of Views from the UK 2006.    There will be no politics on the THIS OCD page, thus  even liberals, Guardian readers are welcome, the problem is with OC is that everybody thinks they understand the subject, as any one with OCD will tell you the condition is complex and has many outcomes.    As this blog has a severe condition it find it sometimes just hard to get out of bed, it takes five tablets a night, and they work, the constant negative worries are contained, or forgotten, of course washing hands has not be solved, thus what do you say to a future employer, that you have the need to wash your hands more often than not, that you will clean you computer with a wipe just to make sure no else has used it.  This OCD once saw a show that showed that one of the great places to have germs is a keyboard, thus the need to wipe if at work and at home when you take the computer out.  When this blog travels, it cleans it keyboard, the computer and the case, yes it sounds nuts, but when it is does not done is causes a constant worry, are there any germs on it, can I use it outside if it is not clean. 

Of course in the real World when you tell someone you have the condition it does cause an eyebrow to rise, most OCD people are alright around sharp objects.  One finds people to joke about the condition, its can be funny SOMETIMES, but when you have had a BAD day or those negative thoughts will not be contained it is irrating, but you smile, people expect you to see the funny side, it is funny sometimes, looking back, when you have retraced your steps, did you hear something or did someone give you the evil eye.   As I said the tablets can help, but sometimes you just to talk to someone who does not judge, but understands, thus this page under Views from the UK 2006.  Please feel to leave a critic of this post or just to tell your story, the comments judge is on, thus ALL messages will be checked.  Thank you for reading this post.

Jeb Bush ATTACKS Rubio - Election 2016

It is pity that Governor Bush was not this combative at the start of the Campaign, one has to question can he get a good finish in New Hampshire, it seems that the Establishment candidate has become Senator Rubio.   Of course it is a couple of days to the New Hampshire primary and anything can happen, is it enough time for Governor Bush to become the new Establishment candidate? The voters of NH will decide the future of a few of the Republican candidates on Tuesday.
