Subjective: This blog is VERY Liberal on social issues, from supporting abortion rights, to gay issues, to supporting the strict restrictions on guns, Drugs should be legalised and taxed.   On this issue the the Supreme Court is RIGHT, at the end of the day the President of the United States is the CinC, he get to decide who serves in the military.

Objective: In 2016 Donald Trump won the Presidency, through the electoral college, the Democrats LOST, winning has results.  This move by POTUS will go down well with his base, he does not care if the liberal elite media will be up in the arms, they are never going to VOTE FOR HIM.   If the Democrats want to reverse this policy they have to win the Oval Office, thus they need a candidate who can win, so far this blog is less that impressed with those that have thrown their hats into the ring, and those thinking of doing so.   They are ALL pandering to the liberal base, from VP Biden to Senator Harris, Leaders LEAD, they do not take polls to see what the their voters want.   The Democrats needs a nominee who is liberal to very liberal on social issues, but is tough when it comes to foreign policy, otherwise they will lose.   As stated this blog wants HRC to run again, Reagan ran in 1968, 1976 and won in 1980.   What else is HRC going to do, her sole interest in politics, former Clinton supporters should draft her to run, she would make an excellent President.

The Election 2016 Ghost, HRC is back in the spotlight, she is blaming everyone else for her defeat from Putin to the DNC, and by linkage the Obama Administration.   One gets the feeling that HRC wants to run in 2020, you can see the mind process, Trump is a disaster, I look good, I am a Leader, the US needs me as President.  In her soul she must be thinking, I stood by Bill, I am owed it by the Party and the Country.   In the real world, HRC is a two time loser, she lost to Obama in 2008 and to Trump in 2016, by taking up all the air in the room it is making harder for new faces to shine, at present the leaders and hopefuls for 2020 are in their 70s, more OAP Party than youth.  It seems that the dim young, prefer older leaders, that must be the sole reason for the success of Jeremy Corbyn in 2017.   At some point the powerful interests with the Democratic Party have to make it clear to HRC that  it is over, SHE LOST, there are no third chapters in US politics, she is no Reagan.

The Clinton Camp have to learn that the reason that HRC lost in 2016 was simple, she was a BAD CANDIDATE, the US voter would accept anyone else but her, she was seen as part of the bad political system that had done nothing for Main Street and allowed for the near Banking collapse of 2008,  and it was not the first time, in 2008 when Obama came along the HRC Camp could not win against him, as he promised a new start, it did not work out, but then it was seen as a chance.   The question next for the HRC camp is what next, the idea than she run for Mayor of New York is not out there, it would be a REAL job, she could try to help the poor and women in New York.   It depends how HRC wants to finish her political career.  IF there are those that suggest that she runs in 2020, they should be barred from the Clinton Court, few pols have third acts, Ronald Reagan was the exception, he ran in 1968, 1976, then finally successfully in 1980, with all great respect, HRC is no Reagan.

It is not that usual for the uber liberal arts in the US to be so forgiving for an ACT that has bombed with the public, HRC has had the Presidency twice in her grasp, in 2008 but lost out to President Obama and then 2016 to President Trump.   In New York the arts must have developed a thinner coat, HRC could be have been President twice over, in 2016 President Clinton, a man who knows a thing or two about winning elections told the HRC campaign to focus on white men, they went instead with their data, as a commentator on CNN stated, data does not VOTE.   The US voter in the rust belt firmly rejected HRC, even the TV series Homeland made the mistake of having a Alt Female winning the Presidency. Of course HRC could be thinking about running as Mayor of New York, that would be fun, she could annoy the hell out of President Trump, turning up at Trump Tower to say the light fixtures do not match the local codes, you get the idea.   At the end of the day HRC will always have the art crowds as supporters.

There are always weak supporters who get frightened when something goes wrong, in this case New Hampshire for Hillary Clinton, to lose by 22 points in a State that has helped the Clintons in the past must have been a personal shock to both Bill and Hillary Clinton.   That is the game of politics, is not how you react when you win, its when you lose, the Clintons have a good firewall in the South, also the Oval Office supports them in fact if not declared, Obama owes Bill for 2012 and helping him get re-elected.   Thus the people throwing their arms in the air should calm down, once HRC takes SC and other Souther states it will be over, its still going to be HRC going all the way to the Oval.

IF Hillary Clinton is going to be President she can not run as Obama's third term or even a third term for Bill Clinton,  the US voter looks to the future, as the present economic state in the US is not that great.   Thus HRC will have to build a campaign around her, but she would be making a mistake IF just talks about gender issues, it does not matter if your a man or woman you are still concerned about the economic well being of the Country, you still have to meet your bills at the end of the week or month.    It seems that HRC is using the Obama playbook from 08/12, the problem is that HRC is not Obama, she is not that good on the campaign trail, if HRC was wise she would go to the right, that is were the voter is, it does not matter what the elite left thing or even the uber liberal NYT.   HRC can not win if she is running for someone else, or if she just runs as a woman.

The best way of Hillary Clinton to deal with the left is for her to tell them to drop dead if they think they will have any part of the Clinton Agenda.  HRC is the only candidate running with a real chance of winning.   If HRC allowed her campaign to be hijacked by the US left she will lose big time in 2016.   The left are under the impression that the UK and USA has gone left since the crash of 2008.  That is a mistake, the economy of the US is getting back into shape, a slow fight but its getting there, there is low unemployment and people are starting to feel confidence in the US economy.   The time for left rubbish was after the 08 crash, the US voted in Obama, first in 08 and then 12.   The Obama Administration is seen to have failed by most Americans, the US needs another Reagan not another Obama.   The left as nowhere to go, its either voting for Hillary or a wasted vote, the Clintons have the aces and they play to win.

Two words that should never be used when in connection to the Clintons is low key and humble, neither Bill or Hillary do that, one would wish they could do humble, not in their political DNA.   The idea that Hillary has learned from 2008 is open to question, this day has been coming for years, will Hillary be able to do only small meets, about 10 people, to listen and learn what the problems are for Iowan voters are, also can see learn not to be so stiff in public, be relaxed, she is no Bill Clinton, and she should not try, she has to give the impression of being humble and not the pre destined nominee, this blog has its doubts, but the fun starts, a long year and half if your not a political geek, great is your one, endless polls and debates.

The Clinton team this time have to get their ground operation working, the press might have nominated Hillary Clinton but the good people of Iowa and NH like to kick the tires to see what a candidate is made off, they gave a win to President Obama in 2008, it showed that Hillary Clinton could be beaten.   Thus as stated the Clintons, and this means, Hillary and Bill should think of moving to Iowa and NH, they need to almost become residents, they have to understand the concerns and problems of the people, it can not be a Presidential run, as not meeting real people, that is a way to lose election.   Lets hope the Clintons have learned from 2008, Bill will have, politics is in his blood, while the Hillary Clinton persona might be harder for Hillary to break.   People do not change, does not matter if they have the Crown in reach.

The 2016 Campaign starts on Sunday with the news that Hillary Clinton will announce that she is running for President again.   The US political race will be full of polls for the Republican side, there seems no REAL challenge to Hillary, one doubts that Vice - President Biden will want to put his head on the block, this time the Clintons means business, any challenger better win, because this time the Clintons are not taking prisoners.    At least A President Hillary Clinton will be tougher, the Clinton Camp has welcomed the deal between the US and Iran but reserve the right to refuse to support it should the talks fail.    This blog has made it clear, if the the Republicans do not nominate Jeb Bush then this blog will support the Clintons, they understand real politics and the price of winning.

Think about this, Bill Clinton was called the first " Black " President in the Oval Office, he understood African - American culture and was happy to be around it, then President Obama and his campaign comes along and brands Bill Clinton a racist, of all people to throw that charge at, the former President might have his faults, BIG FAULTS, but he is not a racist, and it shows character of Bill Clinton that he agreed to support President Obama in 2012.   Thus its payback time, the Clintons expect the Obama team to support them, but and there is always a but, the Clintons may need to distance themselves from the Oval Office should Obama have a bad deal with Iran, the Israeli lobby on the Hill will make sure that the US Congress has the final say on any agreement.   Thus the old big dog should be himself, if the HRC team tie him up he will blow a fuse, and that could cause problems, let Bill be Bill within reason.

As noted the liberal media as already pushing the Clinton comeback story, aka Bill Clinton in 1992, the difference is that they are too early, HRC has to testify twice before the House Select Committee, lets she how she does, the Democrats will be very supportive but its a Republican control Committee, and they can call  her back as many times as they want, also it should be recalled that HRC was less than impressive when she was before the Senate Committee.    It says something about the Democratic Party that they have only Hillary Clinton as their best candidate,  how come there is no Carter or Obama style candidate, someone with no baggage and some charisma, to much in the case of Obama.   ALSO lets recall that Hillary Clinton was the sure bet nominee in 2007 then came Obama, its never over in till the early months of 2017, will it be first time lucky for Clinton in Iowa, we shall see, lot of snowy roads ahead  before the lady sings.

The Clintons and the law, not new, this issue is a one day story in less there is something in the emails or it comes out that the Clinton has not released ALL her emails.   The NYT might be looking for a more left wing candidate, they will support Hillary Clinton if there is no one else, but not out of real faith in the Clintons, more party support.   The Republicans will be ALL over this story, they will think its typical of the Clintons, doing things off the books, at least there is no Cuban Cigar in this story.   Lets recall that Hillary Clinton was the front runner in 2008 before she lost to President Obama, once your in the political arena you get political arrows thrown at you, either by your own side or by opposition.   The private email account was a mistake by Hillary Clinton, the book tour was a disaster, the Clintons can not afford these many mistakes, people will think that Clinton is weak and this could lead to a real fight for the Democratic Nomination. 

Jeb Bush and 2016

It not 2015 yet and here we are looking at the polls for 2016, its fun, but not serious, at this rate the political race will be between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton, will it be the same results as 1992.   There are major differences, Hillary Clinton is not Bill Clinton, she married the man but does not mean that she can operate at his political level, as 2008 showed she can be beaten.   The problem with Hillary Clinton is with all the good will in the world, she is not a great political operator, she comes across as poll driven, telling you what you want to hear and its shows.   While Governor Jeb Bush comes across and being in the middle even if his record on taxes shows he was a conservative Governor.   Also he will have Bush 41 and 43 in his corner, that might be a negative in the general it might just be a plus in the primary elections.   Also IF it becomes another Bush 45 it will not be a on the job training, Jeb Bush has travelled and is more in touch with the feelings of others in the US region.  Also he has a Mexican wife and can speak spanish and is not conservative on immigration.  It early but the fun has just started, more polls and then we have Iowa early in 2016.

The Hillary Clinton FACTOR is all that matters to Democrats looking for a nominee in 2016, the question is will SHE run, do Clintons run for public office, of course, its who Bill and Hillary Clinton are, without politics they would a power couple but like many others.    The next question, how badly will the Obama brand damage the Democrats, if the Clinton is the nominee they will look at the polls and use the out going POTUS is really blue States or States with a healthy African American population, if the polls are REALLY BAD for POTUS he will be spending a lot of time stuck in the White House, no one will want to be seen with him while they are running a race, even in VERY blue States.  It blog has stated if the Republicans do not nominate Jeb Bush it will support Hillary Clinton, one would expect a tougher foreign policy from Hillary, if nothing else to show she is not weak like Obama.  This is the perfect time to be a political geek.

The Clinton's might be worried that if Hillary goes to quick to the center of US politics there might be a challenge on the left, also a sitting US President can either help or hurt the 2016 nominee, at the moment President Obama's polls are not great, but it should be recalled that Obama is from Chicago, the White House and Democrats have already gone on the attack that Republicans have a WAR ON WOMEN, that if the Republicans take the Senate they could impeach President Obama for the various political scandals of his administration.    Thus POTUS might cut a real deal with Iran over its nuclear plans, the Democrats could pull fast one and take the House, thus Obama could push through his Agenda.    The Clinton's do no like to lose, thus they will put out this brush fire, but in the General Election expect the Clinton's to dump on Obama from on high if that what it takes to win in 2016.

The idea that Bill Clinton should be 1st attack dog is not a good idea, he had that role in 2008 and comments he made about President Obama allowed those on the left who supported Obama to call the former President a racist, this was ironic as Clinton was seen as the 1st Black President.   While Clinton is a effective campaigner for himself, he is not so in control when it comes to defending his wife, or as a major support, in all the races that Clinton has taken an active part only a few of those candidates have won.  The best role for Bill Clinton is as a fund raiser, Hillary Clinton has to be seen as standing for herself, not a 3rd term for Bill Clinton.  Any Presidential race is about the future, not the past, and Bill is the past.

Thus the fight for 2016 has started early, well lets be honest it started the moment President Obama won his 2nd Term as President, it has just been more open of late, the Republicans are right to fear Hillary Clinton up to a point, lets recall she lost to President Obama in 2008 when she was seen as the only winner by the experts, Obama showed that the well funded Clinton Campaign could be beaten.    Also lets be clear, Hillary Clinton is not Bill, she is not that great on the Campaign trail, also this time she will have to answer questions about her time as Obama's Secretary of State, which saw a failed restart with Russia, the Crisis that is Syria, the deaths of four Americans in Libya, how the US has become less popular and respected under President Obama, then we come to ObamaCare, will Mrs Clinton support the policy on the campaign trail, yes it could be a very hard, gruelling two years for Mrs Clinton, considering she has had a blood clot, and Bill has had heart problems.

Monica Lewinsky is the woman who almost bought down President Clinton in 1998, their affair made headlines around the World, it was her word against his in till she produced that dress that confirmed that an affair had taken place.   Its odd this blog is only a few years older than Ms Lewinsky, the Clinton Era feels  a life time ago, the 1990s, the US was going through an economic boom, the US lead the Western alliance, and its leader Bill Clinton could not help himself, he had an affair, then denied that affair for months in till the polls changed in his favour.   The Lewinksy scandal has come back to life because of the good chance that former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee for President in 2016, thus the shadow of the old dog comes in to question, how will Republicans deal with the issue, Jeb Bush it can be expected will not bring it up, while others who really want the nomination will take the issue and make it a major issue.   Lets be honest Al Gore lost in 2000 because of the scandal, he should have won, Bill Clinton has a lot to answer for on the political front.

So that is the choice faced by US voters, either a President Bush or a President Clinton.  This blog has come around to supporting Jeb Bush for the Republican Nomination in 2016, Governor Christie seems to have burned his bridges, sorry to easy a joke to miss, thus we are left with Jeb Bush, he is seen as the smartest of the Bush boys, the one that Bush 41 wanted to be President, the question that he will be asked on the campaign trail is what he thinks of the record of Bush 43 when it comes to Foreign Policy, while Clinton will have to deal with being Secretary of State in the 1st Obama Administration and its failure with Russia, and what if anything she achieved while in that post.    Also lets not forget that it was on her watch that the US Ambassador to Libya and three others were killed by terrorists, what was her role in D.C that night, why had she not placed more troops in Libya.   One wonders how the good relationship between President Clinton and Bush 41 could carry on in a tough Presidential fight, family is family after all, and you take power with the support of the voters.
