It's only fair that the Ukraine War goes back to Moscow, how much damage has Russia done to the Ukraine with its " Special Military Operation ", how many people killed, the destruction of buildings, from hospitals to houses and flats.  The Russian people will only come out to the streets to protest if they find that their normal day is just not that normal any more, what happened to the people of 1991, who came out to protest the August Coup and saw the end of the USSR, have they become cowards?  Why are the mothers of the dead not out in the streets, protesting the loss of their sons, brothers and husbands.  What has happened to holy Russia, Moscow has attacked the Cathedral in ODESA.  The Evil regime of Putin must be overthrown.

The Russian people on the whole are a very cultured people, one does not have to read minds to see that the Russian people have found themselves in a modern 1984, Putin will not allow the WORD War to be used in tell the story of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, his Special Military Operation is the only words allowed to be used about the WAR.   The Kremlin directs what the TV AND PRINT media say about the War, if you say the word WAR you can find yourself joining Oscar Wilde doing hard time in a GULAG for 15 years, if you are critical of Putin you might find yourself DEAD, people seems to have accidents from windows, death being the result.  At some point the Russian people as they did in 1917, the First Revolution and 1991 have to get up and leave their houses and get on the streets to protest, the Russian people if they knew the TRUTH would be appalled by the WAR, if the Ukraine Forces dared, they should lop a missile at the Kremlin, just hitting the walls as not to hurt anyone, jus to send a message, that might bring Putin back to reality and also the poor Russian people. One hopes that the transfer of Western air defence equipment is helping the Kyiv Government in takin down the Russian missiles.  The Kremlin will be worried that it is running out of missiles and that the Ukraine feels free to attack Russian bases in Russia itself.  The West has to keep supporting the Kyiv Government through the WINTER, it will be tough in the Ukraine, both Ukraine and Russian forces will be stuck in their trenches, one hopes there is no Christmas TRUCE as in 1914, the Russian Bear cannot be trusted, also Christmas comes later for the Russians culturally.  The attacks on the Russian airfields will alarm the people of Russia and the Kremlin, Putin fears he will be the  TSAR that lost the WAR, the last one and his family were executed in 1918.  The failure in Afghanistan, the Chernobyl meltdown lead to the destruction of the USSR in the end.  The people of the Ukraine are fighting for their freedom and the right to exist, while Putin is fighting to save his own neck and that of Russia.

Lets Get Real:

As the above article notes any talks between POTUS and Putin would be conditional on Putin wanting to end the WAR IN THE UKRAINE.  The West will never force the Kyiv Governemtn to give land to the Russians, and the Russians will have to show they mean peace by getting out of the whole of the Ukraine, the sticking point might be the Ukraine.  The West has to much invested in the Ukraine to allow the Russians to have a win, a Putin win would allow him to move his eyes to the Baltic States and Poland, that would lead to WW3.  The Kremlin knows that if it was really honest with the Russian people about the loses that the Russian Army has faced in the Ukraine, then the Putin regime would come under threat.  Those Russian Soldiers killed in the Ukraine is thousands more than those killed in the Afghanistan War from 1979 - 1989, that helped bring down the USSR.  One does worry there are appeasers in the US State Department and that the US NSA wants to keep lines open with Moscow, that might be seen as a weakness by Putin and his Court.

This DEAL shows how Russian is no longer a SUPER POWER, it has to cap in hand to Tehran and North Korea, the Putin invasion of the Ukraine has shown that the billions that Putin has spent on defence was a mirage, also when does a super power have to get people from jail to fight their WARS. Putin is on thin ice, one has to ask how long the Russian people will put up with WEAK LEADERSHIP from the Kremlin, if they demonstrate in 1917 and 1991, what is stopping them NOW, they now bear the guilt of the WAR CRIMES committed by Russia and Russian Soldiers.  If the people really cared about Russia, they would be out on the streets, trying to get rid of Putin, all they do is watch the PR from the Kremlin on their TV.  The Axis of Evil, Russia, Iran and North Korea have to be stopped, we need a new Reagan and Thatcher, great leaders who faced down the USSR and led to its downfall.

The above article is right, the idea of Western Leaders going to Moscow is out of the question, how could they go with the WAR IN THE UKRAINE, also this blog does not trust that the leaders would be secure in Moscow, Putin does not play fair or understand the rules.  Of course Putin could play games with the West, declare that Gorbachev will have a State Funeral, thus forcing Western Leaders to decline going, so Putin gets the benefit of looking to Russians like a Statesman.   The Western Leaders should hold a memorial for Gorbachev either in Washington D.C, London or Berlin.  This would show that the West was showing respect to a great leader, while showing to Russians that their leader is a rogue leader in charge of a rogue nation.  Reagan, Thatcher had a State Funerals, so Gorbachev deserves his to be a State Funeral, the West was lucky in the 80s to have Reagan in the Oval, Thatcher in No 10 and Gorbachev in the Kremlin, what ever the majority of Russians think.

Gorbachev was a great leader, who tried to reform and bring openness to the USSR, the USSR could not be saved, this is why the old Communists tried a Coup in 1991, Gorbachev was arrested, the Russian people rose up and defeated the Coup, Gorbachev on his return from arrest was to slow to see that the number was up for the USSR.  Thus the end of the USSR in 1991. In his short years in power he and President Reagan ended the Cold War and with their agreements on a INF Treaty, the first nuclear treaty to abolish nuclear weapons.   This Treaty Lasted in till the Putin Regime cheated on it.   Let's be honest, the old Russian Guard who appointed Gorbachev wanted to challenge Reagan on charisma, and Gorbachev had that in spades, the problem was that the USSR could never match the Reagan defence spending, thus threw in the towel, also they could not cope with the Reagan's ideas for taking the Cold War in to Space, with SDI or Star Wars as it was called by its critics.  Reagan, Gorbachev and Thatcher were the last great leaders of the 20th Century.  It has been reported that Gorbachev was horrified by the WAR in the Ukraine, Putin has thrown all the Gorbachev ideas for reform away, there is no democracy in Russia, also Putin controls the printed press and the airways.   One does hope that Gorbachev is given a State Funeral, he was a great leader, the World owes him and Reagan a great debt, ending the First Cold War with words and not a hot WAR.  Reagan trusted Gorbachev, Putin is not in his class at all.

This shows that the Russians officials placed in charge in Kherson do not

 fancy meeting any Ukrainian Troops should they take the Kherson region, Moscow is already playing down the Ukrainian Offensive, but as stated before they would say that.  The Kyiv Government has the Russians on the back foot, if they re - take the Kherson region this would be a major blow to Putin and Moscow.  The people of Russia have to smell the coffee at some point, the Russian people have a rich cultured history and one expects better of intelligent people, they should be out in the streets, opposing the Putin Regime, the Moscow PR has stated that the Kyiv Government is Nazi, well the truth is that PUTIN is using the Hitler plan, Putin is a gangster, he kills when he wants too and does not care about the thousands of Russian soldiers killed.  As Stalin once said, a single death is tragic, after that it becomes numbers.  The Mothers in Russia need to get out in the street, shame the rest of the population, even the Russians Army will not resist hundred of thousands on the street, the Russian people did this is 1917 ad 1991, this is the Russian TIME for FREEDOM, otherwise they will be tarred as being the same as Putin.

The EU should have done this at the START, the Russian people must be forced on to the streets, with sanctions like this and economic sanctions, thousands have been arrested over the WAR in the Ukraine, the Russian people as a whole must be gotten on to the streets, they did this in 1917 at the end of Imperial Russia and in 1991 with the downfall of the USSR under Gorbachev, the Russian economy has recovered some since the sanctions, the Putin Government trying to developed its Asian contacts and in the Middle East, with China and Iran.   There can only be one ONE OUTCOME, Putin MUST LOSE AND BE SEEN TO LOSE, otherwise we face WW3 down the road, this is our late 1930s moment, failure cannot be allowed to happen, the Ukraine must be supported at ALL COSTS.  Even if this means that we have a " War Economy ", the Government should consider paying the extra 100 billion pounds to cover the costs of energy to the UK population.   This is OUR MOMENT to show the courage of our grandfathers and great grandfathers.

The Russians from 2008 bought about a new cold war after they invaded Georgia and built on top of that with the 2014 invasion of the Crimea, the Putin Regime invaded a democratic country that was not a threat to them.  The " Evil Empire " of Reagan's time has been replaced by the EVIL REGIME.  The NATO meeting today has made it clear that the good old days of the post cold war 1 is OVER, and Russia is the main THREAT to Europe.  The West, in this case NATO Countries have to make sure that the Kyiv Government is always armed and that it is never forced by Western Countries to do a BAD PEACE DEAL.  As the UK PM stated in the House of Commons, Putin must lose in the Ukraine and be seen to lose.  Churchill fired the opening line of the original COLD War in 1946 and that did not end in till 1989 with the fall of the Berlin Wall and in 1991 with the fall of the USSR.  One does wonder how the 2nd Cold war will end in a whimper or a major bang, as in World War 3.

This latest move by the EU and the Ukraine will drive the Kremlin NUTS, thus far the Ukraine is moving along the process it always wanted, but at a faster pace, one can expect that the Ukraine will do very fast reforms that allows it to become a full member of the EU, it could take a FEW YEARS, while the main problem for the KYIV Government is that the Russians are moving inch by inch to take the whole of the South East Ukraine, see previous post.  The EU needs to place more sanctions on Russia, the rouble has returned to its price pre the War in the Ukraine, also the Kremlin PR has been excellent, the poor people of Russia must be thinking they are fighting neo Nazis in the Ukraine, its complete RUBBISH, and shows how effective Putin and his regime has been.  The CIA and GCHQ, must start to hack Russian media systems, to tell the truth of the WAR in the Ukraine.  That the Russian invasion was illegal, and that Russian Soldiers have committed WAR CRIMES, on fellow SLAVS,  Tsar Nicholas 11 will be turning his mausoleum, WW1 started because Tsar went in to rescue the Serbs after the Austrian Hungary Empire declared War after the assassination of the heir to the throne in Bosnia.  Thus Russian Soldiers are killing, torturing, and raping their way in the Ukraine, these crimes must be paid for by the Russian State.  The Russian people have to get off their backsides and take to the streets to show that the Russian people do not support this WAR, and it is a WAR.

The WEST and in this case the US as leader of the WEST should place an embargo on ALL RUSSIAN GOODS, the Russians economy is being hurt with the sanctions but it has not forced the people on to the streets to protest, after the August Coup of 1991 the Russian people got on to the street and protested, and they WON, in 1917 there was the Russian Revolution because WW1 had gone WRONG for Imperial Russia. That lead to a default by Russia, there was a technical default in 1998 but then the IMF saved the Russian bacon, they will not this time. Thus the President Russian has placed his nuclear weapons on ALERT, NOW its the turn of the Russian Foreign Minister, the Regime only comes out with these threat if it feels threatened, the West has not DONE ANYTHING military against Russia, supply of military lethal aid is not the same as sending in troops, does Putin fear his own people, and feels the need to warn everyone that he will press the red button.  The West has to support the Ukraine, or it could be Poland or the Baltic States next and they are NATO members.  Putin wants to return to 1997, he seem to have missed the point of the fall of the USSR, the WEST won that WAR.  The Biden Oval has to warn the Russians, they also have nuclear weapons, they will not use them first, but they will finish any war started by Putin. The WORLD cannot say it didn't know, its on our TV News Channels 24/7, the West has imposed sanctions, yes they are hurting the Russian people, but is it enough to get them on the street on mass to take down the Putin Regime.  The West ha to block Russian OIL AND GAS, that is the money that is keeping the Regime in power, yes it would hurt Europe, but is the heat from OIL AND GAST worth the life of one Ukraine.   This will be tough for the West, well life is HARD, and snowflakes better start getting used to that FACT.  If you do not wants to send troops to the Ukraine, then Russia must be broken, and forced to retreat.  Only that kind of pressure will bring Putin down.  The Tsar fell in 1917 because people could not get bread, while the USSR fell in 1991 due to failure of the August Coup against Gorbachev.  The Russian people need to get on the streets, and shout down with Putin.

This blog got it WRONG, it never thought that Putin would invade, but his recent speeches have shown that he just might have gone crazy, he has been in power for decades, Absolut Power Corrupts.  The Ukraine is being invaded from Belarus, Russia and Crimea, numerous Cities in the Ukraine are facing missile waves.  The Russian Army it is reported has sent in its tanks, there have been further reports of tough fighting in the East.  The World has condemned Russian ACTIONS, but the question is what next, one can expect tough sanctions, ones that brings the Russian people and economy to its knees.  The question is will that have any consequences on Putin, if he has gone crazy the answer is NO.  Thus the West, in the shape of the US and UK will have to supply arms and weapons to any insurgency in the Ukraine, the West has to make the Ukraine invasion the new Afghanistan for Putin.  Any supply of weapon will need routes, either road or air, that might bring NATO in to direct contact with Russia, thus World War 3.  This is going to be a cold hard time for the West, it can be expected that Russia will cut back on its gas export to Europe, inflation and food prices will go up.  The West has to keep it nerve, Putin cannot be allowed to WIN.

The Uber liberal New York Times must be seething, they thought they had Trump when it comes to Russia, thus far they have nothing.   It is interesting to see the left NYT want the US Administration to take firm action, that is new, in the 1980s the Reagan Administration faced a tough time when it come to the political elite, they wanted to appease the USSR, Reagan was right, he wanted them thrown in the rubbish bin.  The Trump Oval should grant the sanctions as passed by the US Congress, this would show that the Trump is not being blackmailed by Putin's Russia.

Telegraph: Reports that former USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev has called for the recent Russian Duma ( Parliament ) Elections to be rerun, as they were rigged to benefit the Government. The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the article notes has stated that the elections were not free or fair, thus the Obama restart with Russia after Bush 43 is out of the window. One has to ask has PM Putin started to believe his own press statements, does really think he is the real hard man of Russia. In other words has he gone bonkers like Assad of Syria, or Gaddafi of Libya. This could be a crossroads for Russia folks, either the will of the people is see to be acted upon in full or Russia is a fake democracy. The people should come out on the streets, in their thousands, if the Army would not shoot its own people during the August Coup of 1991, then it will not shoot its own people NOW. It might be time for PM Putin to have a rethink, have a real elections, one doubts the Communists would make real headway if they were seen as having a real chance of power. Lets hope the men in white coats wont be needed at the Kremlin to take away a mad ex KGB officer who has lost the plot.
