Thus the talks are progressing, but the main sticking points seem to be fishing and state support for industries.  On fishing we have to blame the French, they want the same concessions they have NOW, that is a non starter, the point of Brexit was that the UK gained control of our fish in our waters, it does not matter were the started, its were the end up.  As to State support, in less I am missing something all the EU countries have backed their hospitality sectors or they would have gone bankrupt, due to COVID - 19 the rules have to be relaxed, after  COVID - 19 is done with, the rules wanted by the EU can be put in place, of course its a matter of interest in the UK, when a Labour Government comes along, there needs to be a legal wall to stop them taking over large areas of Industry.  Interesting week ahead for the talks.

Since Sir Keir has started the CIVIL WAR with the LEFT, he should follow through, advance is the best strategy, never wait for the other side to take action, he should make sure that ALL HIS MPs sign up for his definition of anti - semitism and his polices in general, if they do not then they should find themselves in the same club as Corbyn.  Those with a brain will know that they are only MPs because they have the Labour Stamp by their name, without that most of them would not get elected dog catcher.  The removal of the Whip is a major punishment, it should be used rarely but when used, follow through, being seen as tough is better than been WEAK.

The removal of the Parliamentary Whip from former Labour Leader, Jeremy Corbyn might just have unlocked the door to 10 Downing in 2024 for Sir Keir Starmer.  The new leader might not have planned to remove Corbyn, but the fact that the remarks by Corbyn left the leader with no other option, Corbyn as the Deputy leader of the Labour Party has stated has a blind spot when it comes to anti - semitism, ( the Deputy leader herself was in trouble for calling a Conservative MP scum in the House of Commons ).  For those voters in the middle who could never vote for Corbyn, the fact that Sir Keir stood up and took action will show he is ruthless, although Sir Keir was in the Shadow Cabinet lead by Corbyn for years.  The removal of the whip could start a civil war in the Labour Party, Starmer has to stand tough, If the new leader does this then he might just be the next UK PM.

In less ALL the polls are wrong, then Biden election will sweep more Democrats in to the House and the Democrats will take over the Senate.   As a new President Biden through executive orders can reverse many of the Trump polices, election victories have consequences, as the above shows a new Biden Administration will appease Iran, thus we come to the question what will Israel do in that event, with they and their new Gulf Allies decide that they can not trust a Biden Administration and strike Tehran's nuclear structures between November and January, one can see a peeved Trump going along, just to drive the liberals and CNN bonkers and hand over to the 46th President a major war in the Middle East.   Also a Biden administration will have to worry about North Korea, they have been VERY QUIET of late, what are they thinking, they  have an appeaser in the White House at the moment, will they want to send a clear message to Biden, they could have a nuclear test or send another missile on its way to the US.  Geo politics goes on, no matter if there is a domestic election. 

UK/EU Talks - Brexit Update 2 - Transitional Phase

Lets Get Real:

There are a couple of tough points that the talks have to get over, the first is the French demand that they have the same fishing concessions that they have NOW, that is non starter, what would be the point of BREXIT if the Paris had the same concessions that they had before, the idea would die a thousands cuts in the House of Commons.  Thus the French will need to be bought off by the Germans, grants for their fishermen etc.   The next problem is the right of the UK to support industries in trouble, given COVID - 19 that should be a minor problem for the EU.  Then last problem, who decides if either side break the agreement.  It can not be the ECJ, that is a non starter in the UK House of Commons.   It will be hard or easy to get a deal, it will depend on the French and the Germans wanting to protect their economy from a no deal Brexit after COVID - 19.

If the UK/EU delegations are drafting agreements that is good, actual progress, the question is will FRANCE move on its demands for the same fish concessions it has NOW.   The French economy has gone in to LOCKDOWN, will the French President want to cause problems for the French economy by going for a NO DEAL BREXIT over fish.  It has been reported that the UK PM is waiting for the US election before making his mind up on the kind of Brexit he wants and can sell to the House of Commons. COVID - 19 is causing havoc around Europe, the Germans will not want a NO DEAL BREXIT, it would harm their economy, crucial few days ahead.

The first few cases faced by Justice Amy Coney Barrett will define how she is judged by the LEFT AND RIGHT.  The Uber liberal news media will look at her view on ObamaCare, it was the major achievement of the Obama Administration in the domestic field, if you follow her logic from the past, then she should strike it down, would a new Justice really do that before Christmas or require the US Congress to come up with a solution by January 1st as an example.  The Judge will face the opposition by the catholic church to the adoption of kids by gay couple, one does hope she is liberal on that, it would be cruel to stop loving parents adopting kids.  As to the election itself, one hopes the result is CLEAR on the night, otherwise we face more Court trials from State to the Supreme Court.

Lets Get Real:

If Florida or Ohio go for Biden then we know its OVER on election night, of course if the rust belt States go together, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania go for Biden the its a massive victory for Biden.  The interesting races will be the Senate races, do the voters really want to give the Democrats a CLEAN SWEEP, that would mean that it would be DOWN to the US Supreme Court to stop any massive liberal polices.  One can assume if its  a massive victory for Biden then even Trump will have to go quietly and hand over the power on January 20th 2021.   The question is what he will do between November and January, there  is only one President at a time, and a angry Trump might start a war with Iran and hand it over to Biden.  On the foreign policy side one should expect former Obama officials, also will Biden really be that tough with Russia and North Korea, also of course he will appease Iran, back to the Obama deal with them.  If the US Supreme Courts does revoke OBAMACARE, then Biden will need to build up his support for another attempt.  On the whole one expects a more quiet time from a Biden White House.

The general election next Tuesday could be thrown in to the Courts if the election is VERY CLOSE, the polls would have to be completely WRONG.  Of course the best thing that can happen is that Biden wins BIG, the Oval, the house and the Senate, and then the Republicans on the Hill might have to place pressure on Trump to leave on his own speed.  After losing big Trump might think he needs to leave the Office with some grace, so no rushing to the Courts if the election is CLOSE.  It is interesting one the first cases that Judge Amy Coney Barrett will have before her will be ObamaCare, it would be ironic, if the strikes it down, then Biden will have to rebuild the support for ObamaCare again in the US Congress, getting the US Congress to pass a mandate, in other words US voters being forced to buy cover might be a hard SELL.  Interesting days ahead at the Court.

Whatever happens next week, Trump has shaped the future of the US Supreme Court, had had three nominees and thus pushes the Court to the right.  The Democrats are furious, they could decide to PACK the Court with liberals, but the argument against that is the Republican could do the same when they are power.  Also VP is on the record in opposing such plan, he has thrown the idea in to the LONG GRASS, he will set up a commission to look at the US Court system.   The LEFT will push for Biden to pack the Court, it could be a early battle for Biden in his first term ( and only term, does any really think he will run for 2nd term, he is already losing it, he called Trump, George twice in a recent speech ).   The Biden foreign policy will be a return to the Obama Era, thus Obama re-treads in post such as NSA and Secretary of State.  It will be nice to have a quiet Presidency, Trump will be giving him hell ever day through his tweets, and watch in till Trump starts his own TV network, it will be Trump 24/7.

The source for a story is EU, they might be wanting to see what they want to see, if the EU Deal is not good then the PM will walk away, he did so last week in till the EU came to its senses.  The PM has to sell the deal to the House of Commons and the European Research Group, they will not just take any DEAL on offer.  As to Trump he will end up in the company of Hoover, Carter, Bush 41 as one term President.   The real reason that Trump is going to lose is TRUMP, he could have had a 2nd term if he has just listened to his staff and could have shut up for a minute, and and stopped having numerous press conferences and his tweeting.   At least after he losses he can go back to his real love, himself or TV with his own network.  Trump on TV 24/7, and we worry about COVID - 19.

In 2016 this blog blogged and supported HRC, but placed £2.50 for Trump to WIN, this election cycle this blog is reversing its thought of doing the same.  Let's be honest Trump has been a disaster as POTUS, Nixon comes out better, No wonder Tricky Dicky wanted Trump to run, you can say a lot of things about Nixon, but he knew people, he did win 49 States in his re-election and thus could postulate that Trump would be a disaster, and the has been, he has taken the Presidency to NEW LOWS, even compared to Bill Clinton.   The Oval's reaction to COVID - 19 has been a total disaster, hundreds of thousands have died, and Trump after getting the disease thinks he is immune, thus having large gatherings were the disease can spread.  CNN has been totally negative, makes one feel sorry for Trump!!! Trump has been friendly to Putin's Russia and to North Korea, he has been critical of allies, while bending backwards to be nice to enemies of the West.  Thus we are not far from the Biden Era, God help us!

It is one of the HARDEST words in the English Language, COMPROMISE, it depends how far the EU expect the UK to compromise, the PM can not compromise over UK FISH IN UK WATERS, that would be seen as throwing the UK fisherman under the bus for the benefit of the French, on State support for business, that is more of middle ground issue, an agreement would STOP any future LABOUR Government from taking over large areas of the UK economy and also keep a check on the EU countries doing the same.  As to UK fish, how much of a cut can the French President take before it becomes a political problem for him, also will the cut in concessions but done over a gradual time.  Also the PM can not agree to the ECJ being the final judge on the issue, the ECJ in not popular in the UK.

Let's hope that the EU is being playing with a fair hand, will they really give concessions on fish, and how much EU regulations do we have to take, the French are the problem, the French President faces elections and he does now want to see as being weak over French fisherman, and this could play in to the hands of the Opposition, it depends how much fish we allow the French to get, not the 84% they get NOW, but a vastly reduce number, otherwise it will be seen that the UK has given way far to much to Paris.  As to accepting EU regulations, we can agree NOW, but if they are problem, ditch them, a Treaty is only as good as both sides see the benefits.   The EU/UK talks start tomorrow!!

The PM is showing firmness, the way you would expect Churchill or Thatcher to behave, the REMAIN PRESS are confused, they always think the EU is in the right, and that the UK should give way.  The UK has been VERY CLEAR, as to what it wants, a free trade deal like the relationship that the EU has with Canada, in fact it should be better, we were a member for 45 years, and thus our business rules follow the EU rules, the EU is playing games, it does this all time, get countries in to talks, and at the end force them to accept what the EU, not this time, the UK voter has been firm with the 2016 vote and then in 2019 with the general election. We want out, and on our terms, the French President can get his knickers in a twist in his own time.

The PM is right to be TOUGH with the EU, this has not happened since Lady Thatcher, the EU thinks we will bend and we have a REMAIN crowd in the media and in Parliament who try to force the Government to the whims of the EU.  The EU is a major bully, look at poor Greece! The UK has to stand up to the EU and remind them we have been alone before, and that was during WAR time conditions, so we will not be moved in till the EU gives us a free trade deal plus plus, that means what we want, the Germans will have to muzzle the French and the French President, offer their fisherman loans on the never, never.  The UK can go either way, we are  a Sovereign Nation.

The PM is right to be FIRM with the EU, the EU could be trying to lure the UK in to talks and at the end offer a poor deal, and they will have thought that the UK would not be ready for a NO DEAL BREXIT.   The PM has to make sure that the EU treats the UK as a Sovereign Nation, not part of the EU and not its serf.  The UK Government has talks with the EU for months, and only after the UK has walked out do the EU come back, the question is does what they offer have any depth.   The UK's fish are out FISH and the UK Government decides what to fund in the future, only the ECJ can not be part of the process at all.   Let's keep the EU at a distance for a while, there is an old saying, be mean and they come running!

This is more like it, how clear can London be to the EU and to the Press that EU can get lost, the BBC reports that the EU can phone next week if they have something NEW to say.  The EU might have been caught by its own history, EU talks always go down to the line, on the last day, in the case of EU/UK talks that can not happen, Agreements have to be agreed and passed by different countries.   This phone call by Lord Frost might actually get through, in the most simple words " Get Lost, in less you change your agenda and fast ".  This might also get in to the minds of the REMAIN PRESS, it's OVER WHEN IT'S OVER.  A Good day to be a UK Subject, minus COVID - 19.

At first the REMAIN press, BBC News and Sky News did not seem to take the words from the PM as being serious, that is why 10 Downing Street has to stress the point, the Establishment press is pure REMAIN and as stated by this blog, seem to have been house trained by the EU ( it might be in the interest of BBC News and Sky News remind its reporters that they work for a BRITISH NEW CHANNEL, not some outlet of the EU.  There are reports of a new news channel coming, one does hope it is less REMAIN than the present channels.  Thus 10 Downing Street has been as clear as crystal, in less the EU changes its ways, do not bother coming to London, even if they do, make clear the talks will discuss only, AVATION and SOCIAL SECURITY for those UK subjects who live in the EU and for those that wish to travel to the EU ( God knows WHY! ) A great day for the UK.

Today Boris Johnson showed why he is PM, he stated that the talks were over in less the EU changed its red lines, No 10 in a briefing to the press stated that the talks were over.  If you just watched the content from BBC News, Sky News and Euro News, one would get the impression that the reporters had been house trained by the EU ( they seemed not to get the message, that it was OVER. They were spouting the EU line, talks for talks sake )   Of course there should be talks about aviation and social security benefits to Brits who live abroad and those that want to go on holiday.   It will be interesting to see if the EU turns up on MONDAY, if the EU delegation has nothing new on its brief what is the point of turning up, they can always zoom.  This is a day to celebrate, as of the 1st of JANUARY 2021, the UK will be a sovereign State again and free of the EU.

This is the EU playing games, playing out the clock, the French want to keep their present fish quota, while the Germans want to keep the French happy in case their voters decide someday down the line that they want out of the EU.  The PM has a lot on his plate, EU and COVID - 19, has to be resolute, no matter what the Treasury says about the cost of a NO DEAL Brexit, the PM should follow through on the wishes of the UK voter.  How many times do the people have to vote to get what they want, they WANT out of the EU, keep our fish in our waters, and let the UK Government decide how to fund the private sector if it want too.  These endless talks are a favourite EU game, and it has shafted to many British PM's.

Thus another wait to see what the EU does, one thought after the Brexit result that a BRITISH PM would be the one keeping others waiting.  This does remind this blog of the May Era, her waiting in different room while the EU decides what it will give the UK.  One can hope that Boris can see the trap and comes out fighting.  The UK should not wait on others, most of the EU its present freedom to the actions of the UK and the US, and they have never paid us back for it in loyalty.   Time for BREXIT to mean something!  That our fish remain our fish in UK waters, and not for the EU to decide how much we get.

The UK PM Boris Johnson is falling in to the FAILED PM League headed by Neville Chamberlain and at the bottom former PM May.  The PM set a deadline, of the 15th of October NOW he is rowing back, this is what the EU wants, drag out the talks, endless and give a the UK a bad deal at the end, they play this game all the time.  The French play the tough guys, while the Germans have the soothing words.  The PM should walk away form the talks, that would force the EU on to UK ground, and OUR FISH and OUR WATERS should remain British.  The critics of the PM could be weak, he doe u - turns and is not on top of the detail.

This will be the final victory for Trump if all goes to plan, Amy Coney Barrett will be the third Judge chosen by Trump for the Supreme Court, the Conservatives who thinks the Court is the first order of business can now vote for Biden, of course Biden has not said that he wont pack the Court will liberal judges.   Thus the Senate Republicans need to send a clear message, that Republican voters need to keep the Senate in Republican hands, or the Democrats will have the Oval, House and the US Senate and can push through what they want, abortion on demand, ObamaCare1.2.  Interesting few days on the Hill.

The DEADLINE is Thursday, the PM has been very clear about that, in less there is a chance of DEAL, the PM should pull the plug, the UK will not give way on OUR FISH in our WATERS.  Also its up to the UK Government how much money they spent to support business.   The French have stated that they will VETO any deal in less they have the same concessions that they have NOW.  The UK should call their bluff, walk way and wait in till the New Year for fresh talks, and have the Royal Navy in the Channel to protect our fishermen and their rights.   The UK has left the EU, it seems that the EU does  not want to leave the UK.

Thus a positive article by the left wing remain Guardian, they are reporting hope at the EU Summit next week, of course the right wing Daily Mail is worried about the French, we all worry about the French!! Will they demand the same fish quota that they get NOW, do they not get the fact that the UK has left the EU and UK WATERS mean UK FISH.  No 10 has been more cautions, useful talks but still problems, the PM can not give in on his deadline, there must be progress to a DEAL or the UK should walk.  The UK should not give BIG CONCESSIONS, we left them, not the other way around.

The German Chancellor needs to put a muzzle on President Macron, if he pulls a stunt at the meeting next week the UK could walk and keep ALL OUR FISH.  The French want to run Europe, while the BIG TRUTH is that Germany in an economic sense has its informal Empire it always wanted, nothing gets done within the EU without the German Okay.  The British people have voted twice in 2016 and 2019 to leave the EU, if the EU wants to play games then the UK should just walk.  The French and Germans will come running if the UK walks, they need us more than we need them, it is about time France grew up!

The poll reminds this blog of a story it read, Margaret Thatcher was told by a staffer that the Labour Party was ahead in a poll, the Iran Lady stated, they should have a bigger lead.  That is real leadership.  One does wonder the real effect of Sir Keir Starmer on voters, he might be to London Remain centric for old Labour voters and he might be wanting to be the heir to Tony Blair to much by new voters.  Also there will not be an election in till 2024, if the Government gets rid of the Fixed Term Parliament Act then the PM can call an election when he wants.   The problems with the ACT were shown during the early months of the Johnson Premiership, the PM should have the final say on a General Election.

Lets Get Real:

The EU is already talking about going over the deadline set by the UK PM's, the EU is playing for time, it wants to make the talks last long a they can and then force the UK to accept a BAD DEAL.  The deadline is the 15th of this Month, next Thursday to be exact, if there is no agreement the UK should walk, the UK has other things to worry about, the talks could restart after the New Year, then we shall see the EU running to start talks and to agree to what the UK wants.  The EU is playing its OLD GAME, it is about time the UK pulled the plug, enough is enough.  The French want our fish, and Brussels wants to decide how much funding the UK Government gives business, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

The Guardian having a Royal story, are they all right in the office, okay its 35o years late, but at least the Guardian is showing a Royal Story.  This case King Charles 11, the merry monarch as a gift gave flemish fisherman right in the UK waters.   As this blog is a firm royalist, one should consider giving Belgian fisherman some extra rights in the UK waters.  It must not be said that the UK does not keep the word of its King ( no this blog has not lost the plot ) the UK is a monarchy that goes back a a thousand years, with a minor exception in the 17th Century, this blog supports the granting of the above concessions, as long as the Belgian boats are small and not massive ships of today, also powered by wind, there are concessions and concessions. 

Trump is burning the House down as he loses US Presidential Election - US Presidential Election

Trump or his campaign staff must KNOW its OVER, that Biden could wing BIG in a couple of weeks time, the Republican Party has to look after itself, it should make sure that the Republican Senate approves Trump's selection for the US Supreme Court, that will go down well with the Republican base and might save a few Republican Senators, the House in the view of the polls will remain Democratic.  The Republicans need to argue that a Republican Senate would prevent the Democrats packing the US Supreme Court with LIBERAL judges.  One does wonder how Trump will cope will losing, will he grown up or will he have to be dragged from the White House.  The same goes for his supporters, will they accept a President Biden, the 46th President of the United States.

This is the EU playing pressure on the UK, the PM's deadline of the 15th of October is coming up soon.  The EU wants to play in to the long grass, this is their typical MO, then the force the other side to back down.   This time the PM has to be FIRM, we get a free trade deal or we walk, cut taxes for business and make the UK the place to do business, while the EU is in the COLD.  These endless talks have gone on long enough, if there was a deal it would have happened by NOW. TIME TO WALK.  At the end of the day, the fish in the UK wasters are British Fish and its up to the UK government to decide what support we give to business.

Our PM has to be firm about the 15th of October deadline, he has to be careful that he is not being played by the EU, the diplomatic core in Brussels thinks the UK is bluffing, the UK has to make them aware we might be Mad Dogs and English Men ( Welsh I prefer ) but when we are serious we are serious, we are not bluffing, either we have the ground work for a deal or the UK is OUT.   The EU has played this game to many times, and always the other Countries submit, not this time.  Our cards are on the table, its our way or the high way, and we take out fish with us, OUR WATERS, OUR FISH.

One gets the impression that TRUMP has just give up and he is going to take the White House DOWN WITH HIM, he is breaking COVID - 19 rules and is under the impression that he is immune NOW, that is WRONG, the virus comes and goes and you can get the disease again.  Tonight we see the VP debates, VP Pence verses Senator Harris.  The VP must KNOW that the fight is over, and he will be setting out his store for 2024 and his own run for the White House, while Harris has to give the impression that she can take over from Biden should he lose it sometime during his first term.  Thus in many respects we are seeing the future leaders of the US, one hopes it is a better debate than the one between Trump and Biden.

As Sky News is just after BBC News when it comes to REMAIN CENTRAL, one has to careful that they over reading something they want, that is the same with the BBC, if by next week it is clear that there can be NO DEAL, expect the BBC and Sky to blame the UK Government, that is their default position.  That is why a new 24/7 news channel welcome.   Of course if there can be an agreement with the EU, that is good, it would help with COVID - 19 but not at any cost.  The UK after December 31st can start to do new trade deals around the World.   The US will be difficult, with Biden in the White House the Oval with look to the Republic of Ireland for its default position.  Brexit NEVER gets boring!!

If you keep up with the BREXIT NEWS, either we are darn close to a DEAL or the PM is about to walk away.   The PM has set a 15th of October deadline for either a deal or the UK walks.  The PM has to be careful that the EU is not playing him, keeping him in talks as a way to get a better deal at the end.   If by the 15th talks are going nowhere, the PM should walk, treat the EU as it has treated the UK for years if not decades.   If the problem is FISH, then the PM can not grant to many concessions, otherwise it will look a sell out to the EU.  The economic damage done by COVID - 19 can not be as BAD as a NO DEAL BREXIT, the UK is always strong by itself, its a position we have been before.

POTUS Home after Hospital Treatment - US Presidential Election

President Trump must know that he will fail to get a 2nd term, the COVID - 19 shock has not seen an increase in his poll numbers, and the economic collapse is still going on.  One can expect POTUS to be the last showman, he will not be happy to be tied to the White House, he will demand to go out to see his ever loyal base.  All VP Biden has to do, is not get COVID - 19 and bring some dignity back to the Presidency.  The 24/7 news channels are obsessed with the idea that Trump is hiding his real health status, thus a reason for his cocktail of drugs to fight COVID - 19.   When we get a Biden Presidency it will be nice to have a quite time, no tweets, no self promoted press conferences.  The Trump Presidency has shown the limit of a TV Reality show President.

The news that POTUS has gotten COVID - 19 has been the top story of the day, at the start of the day CNN was acting as if POTUS has to proof to them that he was sick, and if anyone cares what CNN thinks, in less your left wing loon.  That network gave the right to be taken in serious manner when it forgot it was a news channel.  Even its founder Ted Turner stated that it had gotten to much in to the political news.  Whatever you think of Trump, he is still President of the United States and should be treated as such, its the job of CNN to report the news not comment on every aspect.  If you think Fox News IS the state TV with POTUS, wait in till Biden takes over, it will be puff stories all day from CNN on a Biden Presidency.   The President has been taken to hospital out of caution, should things get worse, and no one wants that, in less your left wing loon, then the VP will take over, its in the Constitution.

The tone from Sky has been pro EU for years, they have followed the BBC News, they even trade reporters, no wonder the mindset is inner London.  If the BBC is to tax the public every year then it  should represent the majority of the population, and the last time this blog looked, the UK voter voted to leave the EU, and placed a majority Conservative Government there to get it done.  It is reported that a new News channel will start in the UK next year, let's hope we have new faces ( Not BBC OR Sky old faces ).   Also it should represent the public, if not it will fail.  No one is asking for a RIGHT WING news channel like Fox News, but it would be nice of the news channel showed some respect for its viewers and not disdain them.   Time will tell.

With the News that POTUS has COVID - 19 the latest talks between the UK and EU have been overshadowed, the talks did not come to an agreement and the PM has stated that it is now up to the EU to see if a we get a DEAL.  One gets the impression that the EU is just stalling, hoping that the UK will just give up and agree to a deal that suites the EU.  The problem seems to come from the French who want to make a deal on fish that goes on forever, and in their fisherman's interest.  Thus it will be interesting to see what comes out of the talks tomorrow, will the EU move, can German muzzle Paris over its demand for UK fish.  There are limits on how much concessions that the PM can give, he had to deal with the right wing of his Party.

As the article notes if both sides, the EU and the UK can get a trade deal then the Internal Market Bill will not matter.  Tomorrow will be interesting, the talk update will be given to the press, if the talks are to go on then there has been progress, let's recall that the PM has given the 15th of October as a deadline, if there is common ground then the talks can go on, but if the EU is just not moving on let's say fish then the UK can blame the French, the French President us under pressure from his fishing community not to give concessions, the UK PM might have to sell a concession that the UK would allow for a three year phased withdraw of EU ships from UK water and fish, if the French still demand a forever deal, then the UK has to walk away.  Due to COVID - 19 it is in everyone's interest to get a DEAL.  Deal or NO deal are the options.

Lets Get Real:

Thus we have two tracks, we have the trade talks in Brussels and then we have the above, the EU has promised this for weeks, it can be seen as sabre rattling, trying to show it is strong.  On the trade talks the PM has given a deadline of the 15th of October, so far there is no talk of extending this deadline, in less the talks have progressed.  If the EU is still being stubborn the UK should walk out and blame the EU.  It depends how far Germany will allow Paris to demand the same fish level it has now in the Channel.   If Berlin can not get Paris to back down, then we have a problem, the UK has given a concession, it has talked and tabled a phased reduction of EU States in the Channel, it is very symbolic for the UK, if the France does not allow the EU to back down then we have a  NO DEAL BREXIT.   There is talk of the talks going on in till November, this would be a mistake, the UK has set a deadline, it should resolve any problems with the EU or just walk away.

POTUS after the 1st Debate - US Presidential Debate

Lets Get Real:

It is best to think about a debate after getting a  goodnight sleep and then make a judgement, the debate itself was a horror show or as a CNN reporter called it a Sh*t show.  POTUS attacked Biden from the start and that lasted for 90 minutes and Biden made a mistake by calling POTUS a clown, he might be a clown, but he is still President of the United States, and Biden told Trump to shup up, hardly Presidential.  All Biden had to to was not fall on the stage and finish a sentence, he did that, the bar was that low, but it was noticed by this blog that Biden got tired over the 90 minutes and his vocab was late 1960s.   On the whole the arch liberal press has supported Biden, as expected and gone after every mistake by Trump, while not following up on the question that the moderator asked Biden, would he try to place Democratic Judges on the Supreme Court to counter its right wing tilt of the Court.  Thus far this blog cannot see Biden losing, its for him to lose it.
