Overnight Ratings for Doctor Who and Review of No Time to Die ( Major Spoilers ) - Culture

Doctor Who News: Reports " Doctor Who Village of the Angels was watched by 3.45 million viewers according to unofficial overnight figures.....The seven-day consolidated figure, which includes all those who watch the episode within one week. for Episode Three: Once, Upon Time was 4.67 million. This is the lowest seven-day consolidated rating since the series returned in 2005.  "

Lets Get Real:

This episode was simpler to understand than last week, you would need a degree to understand last week's show, in Village of the Angels there were two times zones, there was 1967 and 1901.  The Doctor arrived in 1967 after getting rid of the Weeping Angel that had take over the TARDIS.   When the Doctor opened the door, she found a man and woman on the Tardis phone, IF I recall it should work, the 9th Doctor used it, this time it didn't work, the couple were phoning the police to help in their search for their grand daughter, this is were the Tardis Fam split, Dan and Yaz went to help the couple, while the Doctor followed the sonic screw driver that was going nuts, the Doctor found that it lead to Claire, it came out that she has seen a weeping angel and had been thrown back in time to 1967, she was helping in science experiment, the Doctor, Clair and the Professor in his house came under attack by Weeping Angels, the Angels just want you to blink, the Doctor and the Professor fought the Angels, while Clair disclosed that she was becoming a Angel.   The Doctor found a way out, a secret tunnel, the Professor got out but the Doctor blinked but was not taken by a Angel, this made the Doctor curious, as before the Angels attacked the Doctor had done a mind link with Clair and found out that a Angel was in her mind, and that the Weeping Angels were part of the Time Lord Division, while the Doctor fought the Angels, Dan and Yaz were also attacked by a Weeping Angel, they were thrown back to 1901, the village was empty, the people had been taken by the Angels, the young girl lost had be send to 1901 ( Is it this blog, or is the village used was the same one in War of the Worlds also done by the BBC )  At the end of the show, the Doctor was stuck in 1967, while the Tardis fam was stuck in 1901.   The Doctor was made in to Weeping Angel, as she was being recalled by Division and the Tardis fam was stuck in the past with no help from the Doctor.   It was revealed at the end, that the OLD Lady who had come to warn the village was the actual young girl, thus history was shown that the poor girl was left in 1901, while the Tardis Fam had other adventures, that is for next week.   Thus will the Doctor life, will the Time Lords come back, is Division in the past or present or future? A greats show next week.

As to the fall in the viewing figures, last week's show did not help, it was confusing and needed a tighter hold on the story, and more simple format, even this blog got lost sometimes, this weeks show was fantastic, it was simple to understand and reminded one of the Doctor Who Classic shows.  Keep up the good work Doctor Who Team, tighter stories please, and not needing a degree in physics or being Sheldon Cooper!!

No Time To Die

This was a classic film, it was long and even complicated for James Bond, as this blog is a sci fi nerd it understood about nanobots, small man made made creatures that are being used in modern health, no one has weaponised it in the real world, with the exception one would guess of the MOSAD.  In this adventure we found Command Bond had given up his 007 Licence had settled down, of course that did not last, his female partner wanted him to forgive Vespa, from the first Daniel Craig movie.  As Bond looked at her tomb he was blown up, then the adventure started, it seems that another woman had betrayed Bond, thus he ditched her at the station and went back to live on a beach.   Before all this he took out some bandies with his Aston Martin.   Bond was hired by the CIA, as a favour for an old friend, Bond was back at work.  Thus we come to nanobots, it seems that the original idea came from M at the MI6, but things had gone wrong, now another big bad had gotten his hands on them.   After this it would be all spoilers.   Thus Bond found himself in a cave on a Island ( that is classic Bond ) going after the enemy, before that he found his partner and his child, while they escaped, Bond made sure that the lethal Bots were destroyed, to do this he has to open the cave for the missiles to hit, before he did this, he finished off the enemy, but not before the enemy had infected him with the lethal bots, thus making sure he could never kiss his partner or hold his child, also he has been shot by the enemy and was in BAD SHAPET, the rockets hit and Command Bond 0007 meet his END.   

YES 007 is no more, well not in till they select a new Bond or do something to explain how Bond did not die, it was pretty clear cut, no escape hatch, no rescue mission was shown at the end.   They might just do the next movie without bothering to explain, leaving it up to the audience to work it out, and people will be trying to work out till the next movie, it will be like when Sherlock died, ages of print pages on how Holmes did not die when falling from a rooftop building.   OF course they have to have an answer, the Producers one would think before they did this movie thought of a WAY OUT for Bond, the UK has lost the Empire, we can not lose Commander James Bond 007, he shows us fighting above our weight. 

Russia - Ukraine Crisis - Update - Putin Era

Lets Get Real:

The timeframe for an invasion is January to February of NEXT YEAR, thus the WEST in the shape of NATO and the Biden Oval has to be VERY CLEAR with Putin of Russia, that any invasion of Ukraine could lead to the Russians have to fight the US and its NATO allies.  The Russia Bear is not foolhardy, if it shows that there will be REAL consequences of its ACTIONS it will back off, the US and UK should place combat troops in the Ukraine, and draw a RED LINE so to speak, any further from the Russians then the West will be at WAR with Russia.  The last real such scare was in 1983 when the Kremlin thought a NATO military exercise, codeword Able Archer was a cover for a real WAR.  The White House was informed by a brave Russian spy for the UK, this lead to Reagan toning down his comments on the Evil Empire.  One hopes that the West, the US and the UK have such good intelligence, after Afghanistan Biden can not afford another loss on the WORLD STAGE, so Biden and Putin have a LOST to lose if they get this wrong.

Lets Get Real:

It would be good if the UK and the EU can get a real deal, and its not the UK folding because the political pressure the PM is in from political sleaze to curtailing train links to the North after promising new links.  Also what the will the Unionist Parties say about ANY DEAL, will they go with it or will they bring down the provinces Government, that would lead to elections that could see the Unionist Parties lose power in the province to those of a nationalists support.  The devil will be in the detail, does business have an easy path to get their produce in to the province from the UK and does Province still feel part of the UK.  The answer should be KNOWN in a few weeks. 

Another Big WIN for Biden in the HOUSE - Biden Era

Lets Get Real:

This is a another BIG WIN for the Biden Oval, but as stated this the first half of a two part game, the Social Agenda Bill NOW goes to the US Senate, the question is will Senator Manchin support the package, he has made it clear that he has problems with MAJOR PARTS of the bill, does he have the courage to VOTE NO and sink the Biden Agenda.  It is well known that parts of the bill will be taken out, will the LIBERALS in the House still support it.  Also when do aspects of the bill affect the voter, will they say that Biden has had a big win or will they say that he has LOST THE PLOT, many who have known Biden for years say that this is not the Biden they know, so he might be gaga or under the influence of the White House staff.  As reported today Biden has transferred power to the VP while he is in the Hospital.  The general view is that Biden will not run for a 2nd term in 2024, he has said he will run, but we shall see after the Mid Terms, good and Biden will run, if they are a disaster and he is blamed he wont run, in fact the Democratic Party will make it clear that he will not get the nomination. The Republics will role with the argument that the Democrats are more interested in their own agenda and not the agenda of the US population. 

PM Johnson on Ukraine and Russia - The Crisis Zone

Lets Get Real:

It has been reported from the Polish/Belarus border that the migrants stuck there have been moved back from the border in to shelter nearby, the question is what NEXT, the EU held the line when it came to Belarus, in fact they increased sanctions, and the US and the WEST has made it clear to the Kremlin that it would be BIG MISTAKE to invade the Ukraine, one hopes that the Biden Oval has made it clear to Putin, that the West will protect the sovereignty of the Ukraine.  The words of the UK PM shows that the UK stands with the US and the Kiev Government.  The next move is up to Putin, will he tell the Belarus Government to bring more migrants in to the border area, what about the Russian troops on the Ukraine/Russian border, are they going to just wait for the word, either way.  The West might have just avoided a GROUND WAR in Eastern Europe. 

Overnight Ratings for Doctor Who Once, Upon Time - Arts

Lets Get Real:

Once , Upon Time was a head funk, the Doctor was thrown in to in to time itself, it was an effort to save the Tardis Fam, BOTH Dan and Yaz has been placed in their own time streams, thus the one body shared the past, present and future, a might confusing for the average viewer without a Degree from Stark Trek Voyager, thus if you broke down the story it made a sense, the Doctor was thrown in to her own PAST time stream, the one before the 1st Doctor, and Temple Priests needed saving from the big threat this season, also the flux we discovered was in answer to the Doctor.   It would be confusing to explain, just watch the episode, ( Spoiler ) coming up, the Weeping Angels came back, via a computer game and on the mobile of Yaz, they have taken over the Tardis and thus the next adventure, it should be mentioned we had a new character, who had to deal with the Daleks and Cybermen, not sure I approve of them being kind a side issue of the story, in the day they were the MAJOR THREATS, now they are just OLD.  We all get old!!  The new character had a link with a new Doctor companion, it does make sense.  WATCH on the IPLAYER. 

Biden success on HILL - infrastructure

Lets Get Real:

This a big win for POTUS, he could do with some good news, his poll numbers are down the toilet, US voters see him as not being interested in THEIR problems.  The Democrats can  NOW, shout about the infrastructure Act and the debate on the welfare social agenda that Biden wants the US Congress to pass.  The only person stopping Biden getting a complete win is Senator Joe Manchin, the Senator has sent mixed signals, it is CLEAR that he does not like the social agenda bill, he thinks it costs to much and changes the nature of the US.   The Senator might be RIGHT, the question is does he want to hold out and can the Biden Oval persuade him to vote YES in the Senate, this is the first half of the game, the 2nd half has never been so important for Biden and the US.
