Special Prosecutor for Trump Scandals - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The Democrats have got what they wanted, but that could cause them problems, as it is expected that the Special Prosecutor will not show boat or leak.   Also what happens to the Congressional Investigations.   The House and Senate will want public hearings, those called might want immunity from prosecution, thus this could be granted by the US Congress, thus preventing charges coming from the Special Prosecutor.   Lets look at the record of Special Prosecutors, lets start with the most famous, Watergate, that lead in the end to the Resignation of Richard Nixon and many of his White House Staff in jail.  The next one is Iran - Contra, that was a failure, as the US Congress got in the way, gave immunity, when the Special Prosecutor tried to charge individuals they found that the Courts would not uphold any charges on appeal.   Also Bush 41 at the end of his Presidency gave a pardon those in the cross hairs of the prosecutor.   In the case of Bill Clinton, the prosecutor went after the affair of Bill Clinton with Monica Lewinsky, he was impeached by the House and found not guilty by the US Senate.  In the case of Bush 43, a staffer on the staff on of the VP was convicted not of the original crime but for having a bad memory, when the name of CIA agent was given to the public.   It can be argued that Trump should now control himself, no more tweets, no more threats, he should act Presidential, that means push his agenda, push the Congress to act on his Agenda, the OVAL should use the example of Bill Clinton who said he was working for the US people, 24/7, give the special prosecutor no problems, this could be a long investigation.

The Washington Post: Reviews the forthcoming memoirs of VP Cheney. It will be interesting to read the memoirs of the most powerful VP in American history. It will be interesting to see how his views of international relationship develop from his time as Chief of Staff to President Ford, seen as a moderate Republican when compared to Ronald Reagan by the Establishment of the Republican Party in the 1970s, to the dark hand behind of the Bush 43 Presidency from the prospective of the Liberal elite from 2001. Also what was his relationship like with Bush 43, did he feel as the Bush 43 Presidency went on after the re-election win of 2004 that he had less power, in views on the Libby Case and the well known stand off with Bush 43 over a pardon. Also lets get to the elephant in the room, that is Iraq, that should dominate the memoir, one can see LIBERALS reading every word looking, looking for an apology or that Bush 43 lied and knew he was laying about Iraq. It should be a bestseller folks, the Bush 43 book was New York Times bestseller.

Cheney on Bush

New York Daily News: Reports that former VP Cheney is not happy with his former boss, President George W. Bush, the reason being that Bush didn't grant a Pardon to Mr Libby, the former Aide to the Vice President. It can be assumed that Bush 43 recalled the the row caused by the pardons of his father, Bush 41 and the late pardon by Bill Clinton. President Reagan didn't have to worry about pardons, his VP, George H.W. Bush was his successor, thus he could leave it to Bush 41 to clear up the mess of Iran - Contra. At the end of the day, Reagan understood that he need his successor to be a Republican and VP. Thus we are still talking about the Reagan Revolution years later, that what makes the Gipper a great politician and statesman.

Leak Case!

CNN: Reports that the Bush Administration has evoked the classic cover up tool in the view of the Elite Media, Executive Privilege to prevent the interview between the Vice - President and Prosecutors on the Plame Case, from seeing the light of day. The left will argue this is another example of the Bush Administration above the law, the right will argue that there was no case to answer. It comes down to your political point of view and judgement.

Fox News: Reports that Scooter Libby will drop his appeal plan. President George W. Bush should pardon this loyal aide, the case should never have reached trial.

A Judge has dismissed a claim by Valerie Plame; made famous by the Libby Case; that the Officials in the US Government broke the law by talking to the press about her husband's critical view of US v Iraq policy. The Judge decided that it was part of the process for the Administration to talk to the Press.

Libby Final Call?

The Judge today in the Libby Case will decided if Mr Libby can stay out of Jail while he appeals the case. If the Judge says he has to go to Jail this will place President Bush in a tight spot, the base want a Pardon but the Elite as in the Media want Jail time. They want Jail time because of Iraq not on the Merits of the case. If it is Jail time the President should take a third option. The President has the power to Substitute the Verdict to a fine and no jail time. Mr Libby has served the USA well over the years the President should either substitute or give Mr Libby a full Pardon. If in the USA call the White House and demand a full Pardon for Mr Libby.
