This blog does not trust the value of these talks, how does the Kiev Government know that their side will come back, what if the Russians arrest them, thus one hopes the President is NOT GOING.  Putin has shown that he is a evil dictator, thus he must be suspect, also what happens tomorrow should the Russian economy go down the toilet to the sewer, what will Putin do next, as stated in past post he has already place his nuclear forces on ALERT.   The Russian Federation is now a rogue nation and also a nation with nukes.  If Putin does not back down and uses ALL his forces to smash Ukraine, who is NEXT.  The West, in this case NATO has to place its NUCLEAR FORCES on Defence Condition 3, rev them up just in case.  The next few hours and days could get very tense.

One can only hope that Putin is following Nixon's Mad Man Theory, trying to make the WEST very nervous, if not Putin might have just lost it, would he really go for nuclear war over the Ukraine, the more tension he creates the chance of a mistake, one assumes that the US will go to defcon 3, nuclear alert status, just to be on the safe side.  When the Russian economy goes down the toilet on Monday because of the economic sanctions, what will Putin do, will he threaten the use of nuclear weapons if the West does not reverse itself, it has to be a worry.  As for the WEST it has to stand tall, this might be IT, we might have to say to Putin, Go F**** Yourself, we will not be bullied, and its up to him if he wants WORLD WAR 3.  The next few hours and days will be very tense, we have our own Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, when JFK sold out Turkey to get the USSR to remove it nuclear missiles from Cuba and Operation Able Archer of 1983 when the Kremlin thought that a military exercise for NATO was a cover for a real American First Strike, when President Reagan was informed he stated in his diaries that  the USSR had nothing the US wanted and he changed his Cold War rhetoric , and we have Joe Biden as President, God help us, at least we know if it came down to it, Boris Johnson would press the red button, will POTUS? .

Russia’s war represents an assault on fundamental international rules and norms that have prevailed since the Second World War, which we are committed to defending. We will hold Russia to account and collectively ensure that this war is a strategic failure for Putin....This past week, alongside our diplomatic efforts and collective work to defend our own borders and to assist the Ukrainian government and people in their fight, we, as well as our other allies and partners around the world, imposed severe measures on key Russian institutions and banks, and on the architects of this war, including Russian President Vladimir Putin....As Russian forces unleash their assault on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, we are resolved to continue imposing costs on Russia that will further isolate Russia from the international financial system and our economies. We will implement these measures within the coming days.. Specifically, we commit to undertake the following measures:..First, we commit to ensuring that selected Russian banks are removed from the SWIFT messaging system. This will ensure that these banks are disconnected from the international financial system and harm their ability to operate globally...Second, we commit to imposing restrictive measures that will prevent the Russian Central Bank from deploying its international reserves in ways that undermine the impact of our sanctions....Third, we commit to acting against the people and entities who facilitate the war in Ukraine and the harmful activities of the Russian government. Specifically, we commit to taking measures to limit the sale of citizenship—so called golden passports—that let wealthy Russians connected to the Russian government become citizens of our countries and gain access to our financial systems....Fourth, we commit to launching this coming week a transatlantic task force that will ensure the effective implementation of our financial sanctions by identifying and freezing the assets of sanctioned individuals and companies that exist within our jurisdictions. As a part of this effort we are committed to employing sanctions and other financial and enforcement measures on additional Russian officials and elites close to the Russian government, as well as their families, and their enablers to identify and freeze the assets they hold in our jurisdictions. Lets Get Real:

The main news is that Russia has been thrown out of SWIFT, this will really HURT RUSSIA, they will react, if this had been done a week ago it might have prevented Putin taking this course of WAR.   The next couple couple hours the brave people of Kiev will face horror through missile strikes, artillery fire, tanks firing, one can only hope that they can get through this LATEST horror.  The Kremlin wants a quick win, and it is not getting it, the Russia  News is under the power of the Kremlin, they report what the Kremlin wants, one hopes people get their information from other other source and come out to protest.  It is fair to say that Putin has LOST THE PLOT.  Also how will the West re-arm the Kiev Government and other Ukraine Forces, by road or air, tense few hours ahead, one hopes that Kiev can resist the on coming horror.

Guardian - Live Blog: Reports 6.13pm post the following, " Germany has suggested it could support banning Russia’s access to Swift, the world’s main international payments network, after previously opposing the measure.....Annalena Baerbock, Germany’s foreign minister, said on Saturday that it was working on a “targeted and functional restriction” on Swift. Olaf Scholz, the German chancellor, previously said cutting Russia off from the payments network should not be part of sanctions.  "

Lets Get Real:

The Germans have been shamed in to this, the Italians also reversed themselves, one should recall that the Germans sent five thousand caps to Ukraine, that really helps against the might of the Russian Army.  The Germans have stated they will send arms to the Ukraine, a bit late but its a start.  The question ALL these Countries who have woken up to the threat of Russia and what might happen should Russia win in Ukraine, Poland the Baltic States could come under threat, and then there is no hiding, they are members of NATO, even sleepy Biden would have to ACT and get something right in his fifty years of being a POLITICIAN.   The question is how will the WEST gets its arms to Kiev and other other areas in the Ukraine, is there some secret airport they have? Or will the WEST have to use roads, that could place them in target range of Russian fighters.  Also the Russians have stated that should others come to help Ukraine they will suffer extreme reaction, the implication being nuclear.  The West has to win and as the PM stated in the HOUSE OF COMMONS, Putin must lose and be seen to lose.

Lets Get Real:

HOW is the US and other supporters going to get the military support to the Kiev Government, they either go on road or by plan drops, one can assume that the Russians will NOT BE HAPPY with either, what happens if the Russians try to stop such support, will the Troops or Air Force have the authority to shoot back, yes that could very well start WW3. On the other hand this cold be IT, if we do not take Putin on here, where is next, Poland the Baltic States, as has been stated by a few people, Putin could have gone nuts, or is he is following the Nixon Mad Man Theory, keep the other side off balance, Nixon did that with the bombing of Cambodia in the early 1970s.  One does not think that Putin is that good a actor, so one has to take the view that he has gone mad with that so power for all those years.  One hopes the brave people of Ukraine fight on, make Russia bleed for this ACT OF WAR.

Lets Get Real:

The UK MOD states that the main Russian force it outside KYIV, there are reports of a few troops in the Capital itself.  One can assume they are Russian Special Forces going after the Ukraine President.  As military expert on Sky News has stated, the Ukraine Forces will have a choice, EITHER fight the Russians head on or go guerrilla or insurgency, that would be the best choice, a head to head fight with the main Russian Forces can only have one victor, Putin, thus the Ukraine forces have to retreat to start an insurgency, get the Russians to commit to coming to the centre of KYIV and then take them out from the various building.  Of course he Russian might try to surround the CAPITAL, and cut off food and water to the population.  The problem with that is that it takes time, the West has stated it will support the Ukraine Government with arms and weapons, that could force the West to send airdrops in to Kiev as to supply the army and feed the population, that could lead to WORLD WAR 3.  The people of the Ukraine are brave, the WEST has to support them, it could be POLAND or the BALTIC STATES next.

Lets Get Real:

 

The WEST has sold the Ukraine down the river, the Ukraine is the Czechoslovakia of 1938/39.  As with both cases, we end up at the Polish border, thank goodness Poland is part of NATO and the other Countries around at it.  Putin will not stop at Poland, Putin is the modern Hitler, the temptation will be too much for him, he wants the former USSR back or at least Imperial Russia.  The West will not even banish Russia from SWIFT, this allows the transaction of money around the WORLD.  It can be postulated that either France or Germany refused, it would make sense if it was Germany, they get a majority of their gas from Russia.   The West will have to support a Ukraine Government in exile in the West, also feed any insurgency in the Ukraine, the West should and the Ukraine rebels should make Russia bleed, the Russian Army is too big for Ukraine to take on, but after the WAR finishes, the Ukraine forces should build an insurgency that makes the Ukraine to HOT for Russia.  Sad say for the West, the modern Neville Chamberlain's are President Biden of the US and UK PM Johnson, when will we get a Churchill.
