POTUS goes to Hospital due to COVID - 19 - US Presidential Election/Health

The news that POTUS has gotten COVID - 19 has been the top story of the day, at the start of the day CNN was acting as if POTUS has to proof to them that he was sick, and if anyone cares what CNN thinks, in less your left wing loon.  That network gave the right to be taken in serious manner when it forgot it was a news channel.  Even its founder Ted Turner stated that it had gotten to much in to the political news.  Whatever you think of Trump, he is still President of the United States and should be treated as such, its the job of CNN to report the news not comment on every aspect.  If you think Fox News IS the state TV with POTUS, wait in till Biden takes over, it will be puff stories all day from CNN on a Biden Presidency.   The President has been taken to hospital out of caution, should things get worse, and no one wants that, in less your left wing loon, then the VP will take over, its in the Constitution. 

EU and UK Leadership Talks Tomorrow - Brexit Update 2 - Transitional Phase

Sky News: Reports " Brexit: 'Persistent' differences remain says EU as UK trade talks deadline looms...It comes as Boris Johnson and the head of the EU Commission prepare to "take stock" in a call this weekend. "

Lets Get Real:

The tone from Sky has been pro EU for years, they have followed the BBC News, they even trade reporters, no wonder the mindset is inner London.  If the BBC is to tax the public every year then it  should represent the majority of the population, and the last time this blog looked, the UK voter voted to leave the EU, and placed a majority Conservative Government there to get it done.  It is reported that a new News channel will start in the UK next year, let's hope we have new faces ( Not BBC OR Sky old faces ).   Also it should represent the public, if not it will fail.  No one is asking for a RIGHT WING news channel like Fox News, but it would be nice of the news channel showed some respect for its viewers and not disdain them.   Time will tell.

With the News that POTUS has COVID - 19 the latest talks between the UK and EU have been overshadowed, the talks did not come to an agreement and the PM has stated that it is now up to the EU to see if a we get a DEAL.  One gets the impression that the EU is just stalling, hoping that the UK will just give up and agree to a deal that suites the EU.  The problem seems to come from the French who want to make a deal on fish that goes on forever, and in their fisherman's interest.  Thus it will be interesting to see what comes out of the talks tomorrow, will the EU move, can German muzzle Paris over its demand for UK fish.  There are limits on how much concessions that the PM can give, he had to deal with the right wing of his Party.

Sky News: Reports " EU taking legal action over PM's controversial Internal Market Bill - but does it matter?...Brussels claims Boris Johnson is breaching the "good faith" both sides signed up to in the withdrawal agreement. "

Lets Get Real:

As the article notes if both sides, the EU and the UK can get a trade deal then the Internal Market Bill will not matter.  Tomorrow will be interesting, the talk update will be given to the press, if the talks are to go on then there has been progress, let's recall that the PM has given the 15th of October as a deadline, if there is common ground then the talks can go on, but if the EU is just not moving on let's say fish then the UK can blame the French, the French President us under pressure from his fishing community not to give concessions, the UK PM might have to sell a concession that the UK would allow for a three year phased withdraw of EU ships from UK water and fish, if the French still demand a forever deal, then the UK has to walk away.  Due to COVID - 19 it is in everyone's interest to get a DEAL.  Deal or NO deal are the options.

Lets Get Real:

Thus we have two tracks, we have the trade talks in Brussels and then we have the above, the EU has promised this for weeks, it can be seen as sabre rattling, trying to show it is strong.  On the trade talks the PM has given a deadline of the 15th of October, so far there is no talk of extending this deadline, in less the talks have progressed.  If the EU is still being stubborn the UK should walk out and blame the EU.  It depends how far Germany will allow Paris to demand the same fish level it has now in the Channel.   If Berlin can not get Paris to back down, then we have a problem, the UK has given a concession, it has talked and tabled a phased reduction of EU States in the Channel, it is very symbolic for the UK, if the France does not allow the EU to back down then we have a  NO DEAL BREXIT.   There is talk of the talks going on in till November, this would be a mistake, the UK has set a deadline, it should resolve any problems with the EU or just walk away.

Lets Get Real:

It is best to think about a debate after getting a  goodnight sleep and then make a judgement, the debate itself was a horror show or as a CNN reporter called it a Sh*t show.  POTUS attacked Biden from the start and that lasted for 90 minutes and Biden made a mistake by calling POTUS a clown, he might be a clown, but he is still President of the United States, and Biden told Trump to shup up, hardly Presidential.  All Biden had to to was not fall on the stage and finish a sentence, he did that, the bar was that low, but it was noticed by this blog that Biden got tired over the 90 minutes and his vocab was late 1960s.   On the whole the arch liberal press has supported Biden, as expected and gone after every mistake by Trump, while not following up on the question that the moderator asked Biden, would he try to place Democratic Judges on the Supreme Court to counter its right wing tilt of the Court.  Thus far this blog cannot see Biden losing, its for him to lose it.

Lets Get Real:

In essence, both the UK and the EU are over a barrel, this is not a normal time, there is COVID - 19 write large over the EU countries, the UK is bringing out harsher restrictions by the day.  Both sides need a deal that they can sell to the public but also are good for their economic condition at the present.  The PM has a hard sell, he has to sell any deal to this MPs, who are in rebellion mode at the moment due to COVID - 19.   Both sides need a diversion, the public it can be argued are very much bored with the endless talks, make a decision one way or another.   PM Boris could do with a success, it has been a hard few months since his great general election victory.
