Thu we have the meeting between the US Secretary of State and the Russian Foreign Minister on Friday in Geneva, one hopes that some kind of diplomatic way can be found for Russia to save face, Putin has boxed himself in, he wants NATO to say in Treaty form that the Ukraine will never joint NATO and those former Warsaw Countries in Eastern Europe who joined NATO will have their NATO troops removed with their equipment, this is a NO STARTER, even IF Biden wanted to do that he does not have the influence on the Hill.  It's Mid Terms year, no politician Republican or Democrat wants to be called a APPEASER in the shape o Neville Chamberlain of appeasement infamy.   The US and the West can agree on the need for new missiles treaty to replace the now defunct INF Treaty singed by Presidents Reagan and Gorbachev.  Also on a agreement on when the sides can have military drills.  This is the OUT for Putin, the question is will he take this deal.

There will always be people who want to appease, the House of Commons in 2013 did not do itself any favours when it refused to back PM Cameron and his plan to attack Syria after the use of chemical weapons.  The foundation of leadership is taking decisions that will cause others to be unhappy, Churchill, Reagan and Thatcher.  In 1940 Churchill faced down the UK Establishment that wanted to appease Hitler, in the 1980s Reagan and Thatcher stood firm against the Soviet Union, and pushed through domestic reform that was needed.   Sometimes leadership comes down to one person, who will make the difference.

After the failure of the rollout of ObamaCare the Oval is looking for better PR from the press, thus the Oval wants a deal with Iran at any cost, Obama sees himself as another JFK or Reagan, President Kennedy had the nuclear test ban treaty with the USSR, while Reagan was seen as ending the Cold War, thus Obama wants to end the tensions between the West and Iran, even at the expense of the security of Israel.   Thus Israel must face the fact that it is alone when it comes to Iran, it must be ready to take firm military action against Tehran.   The US Congress, from the House to Senate will support Israel, no matter the critical review form the Oval should Israel attack Iran.   The clock is ticking for Israel, it must ACT to safeguard its security.
