Obama TAX HIKER - Romney/Ryan Advert

Lets Get Real:

The Romney Camp hits POTUS over taxes, good advert, always better if an outside group supports you, seems to be giving fair judgement.    Lets see how the US voter reacts to the 1st Presidential debate.  It is a pity that Romney waited so long to come out of the gate fighting, the Chicago political mob defined him before he could really define himself.  But a good try from Romney.

Obama HITS back after DEBATE - Obama/Biden Advert

Lets Get Real:

This is why President Obama will get a 2nd term folks, the Chicago Obama team hit back after a weak episode.   They hit Romney over his tax plan, stating that the Middle Class would pay for any Romney tax cuts.   The Chicago way might be low but it works folks.

Syrian - Turkish Front - Syrian Update

Guardian: Reports the following from the Syrian - Turkish border, the Turks have  " fired into the county for a second day after shelling killed five civilians in a Turkish border town. ".

Lets Get Real:

Folks the Syrian and Turkish Governments might want to cool down the hot zone on the border, they can not control local Commanders from starting a War.   The Syrian Army knows the opposition can regroup on the Turkish  side of the border, thus these latest cross border incidents.   As the Syrian Civil War goes on the Syrian Army will get more angry and frustrated with Turkey being a safe zone for the rebels, thus the chance of more stray hits on Turkey, thus the real chance of War.   One can make a case for Turkey going in to Syria and overthrowing the Assad Regime, as long as they do not stay, the longer this Syrian Civil War goes on the more likely that a regional war will develop, also the threat of WMD's  being used.  Keep your eye on this story folks, there will be developments.

Syrian - Turkish War ? - Syrian Update

Telegraph:  Reports that the Turkish Parliament has approved " ...approved military operations against targets in Syria following the deaths of five Turkish citizens from Syrian shelling. "

Lets Get Real:

This could be the October surprise of US elections folks, what if Turkey, a NATO member gets dragged in to a War with Syria, thus the US and President Obama would have no choice but to support its close ally.   While Iran would be supporting the Assad Regime.  The US left would go bonkers should POTUS after Libya get the US in to another War.   That could have been the reason that Obama was off his game at the 1st Presidential Debate.   Also when it comes to the Presidential debate of foreign affairs the Oval could be dealing with the growing perception in the US that the Oval covered up the terrorist attack on the US Consulate in Libya and that Obama is weak over Iran, that he has thrown Israel under the bus and he has not take clear action in Syria, thus the chance of a Syrian - Turkish War. Well President Obama wanted the job, the World does not rest for US Elections.

Romney WINS 1st Debate - US Election 2012

BBC News: Reports that Governor Romney won the first of the US Presidential Debates of 2012.

Lets Get Real:

It was interesting folks, as this blog has called the election for Obama it was more interested in what a 2nd Obama term would look like, thus my tweets of last night, in doing so this blog missed something, its how the Candidates appeared before the voters.   Thus while this blog had Romney winning the debate on substance it did not really take in to account the manner of either candidate.    Thus this blog fell in to 1960s trap, let me explain, those that listened to the 1960 debate between Kennedy and Nixon thought Nixon had won on substance, but of course it was the start of the TV age, and Kennedy won on PR.   Thus as mentioned by commentators Romney looked happy to be there, up for a fight, while POTUS wished he was anywhere else.  It showed.   This blog still thinks Obama is going to WIN, but it will be narrow, and there will be no mandate, just a 2nd term.  It was a good show by Romney if to late, it might help in Congressional races, the 2nd debate should be fun folks, Obama can not afford another bad debate.

The Polls before the 1st Debate - US Election

Rasmussen Reports ( LV ): In its daily tracking poll it finds that President Obama leads Governor Romney by 49% to 47%.  A 2%.

Gallup ( RV ): Reports in its daily tracking poll that President Obama leads Governor Romney by 49% to 45%.  A 4% lead.

Lets Get Real:

Thus folks POTUS has a lead of between 2% to 4%.   It will be interesting to see if the 1st debate secures that lead, or extends it, or even in national polls brings the Candidates closer.   Given the economic mess of the Obama years the Republican ticket should have been miles ahead, also they should have expected the tough Campaign by Team Obama.  As  the Romney/Ryan ticked failed on both counts it is no surprise that they will lose, these debates as sideshows, the game is over, but they are fun to watch.   It is nice to put OUR leaders on the spot, make them sweat a bit, lets face it folks, US voters do not have much fun these days.

1st Presidential Debate of 2012 - US Election

BBC News: Reports on the build up to the first Presidential Debate of 2012 between President Obama and Governor Romney.

Lets Get Real:

Thus folks we come to last major event of the US Election cycle, the winner of the 1st Presidential Debate, as this blog has already called this election for President Obama it can be objective about the winner.   Both sides in the race have told the Media that their candidates can barely walk and speak as to lower expectations.   Thus the argument is that as long as the candidates do not fall off the Stage or start to speak Russian they have had a good night.    This blog will tweet the debate that starts after 2am UK time.    On the whole it can be predicted as the Candidates have had tons of prep that it will be draw.   There are examples from recent history of debates that have changed the race, in 1976 President Ford stated that Eastern Europe was not under the control of the USSR, bad mistake, that was tough clean up job for the Ford Campaign, in 1980 Reagan just had to look Presidential, in 1984 against former VP Walter Mondale the age issue came up, Reagan took Mondale down with a joke.  In 1992 Bush 41 looked like he was bored with a debate when he looked at his watch.   In 2000 then VP Al Gore gave the impression that he was less than impress with Bush 43, the voters were not impressed.    Thus in less either Candidate makes a major mistake it should be a draw, even boring, lets see how it turns out.
