Obama's Poll Standing

RCP: Reports on its average of Obama's polls, the average is Obama at 48.6% approve and 46.1% disapprove. Thus is pure political terms President Obama needs a win, a major win, thus we come to health care reform, the White House has called for the House to vote by March 18 on the Senate version of health care reform, the White House should push hard now, if the Congress goes in to recess with no vote the bill could go down in flames if the Congressmen/women and Senators face the wrath of the voters. Thus the liberal leadership in Congress and the Oval should push the House members to trust Obama, and vote for a bill that they don't like, even it it looks bad on the political front now, they have a couple of months to sell the Bill and then Obama can stress jobs, jobs and jobs. The 2010 Mid Term Congressional Elections are still a few months away, also it should be noted that the health care reform bill does have some benefits and negatives, the benefits are that people with pre existing conditions can not be rejected by insurance companies and there is no cap on the cost of treatment. On the negatives ALL Americans will have to buy insurance and taxes will go up. Thus lets see how good a politician Obama really is, if he is good he can keep the House if not he will lose Congress to the Republicans.

War between USA and Iran - WORDS!

Telegraph: Reports on the growing hot war of words between the USA and Iran. While in Afghanistan Secretary Gates and President Ahmadinejad accused each others nation of causing the problems of Afghanistan. It seems we are seeing the path that will lead to either Israel or the USA attacking Iran, it starts with type of diplomatic row, in many respects quite tedious, both sides have their talking points, the USA top point is that Iran is a nuclear threat, thus the need for new tough UN sanctions, Iran states that its nuclear fuel development is for peaceful civic reasons. This has been the argument for months, and months. The UN sanctions still have not arrived, and if China has its way the sanctions will be low level. Thus we are left with the military options. As stated many times it comes down to the USA or Israel taking action, its just the tedium of waiting folks.

Israel vs The World

BBC News: Reports on the critical reaction around the world to the news that Israel is going to build 1600 news homes in East Jerusalem. Israel has the right and duty to build homes for its citizens. This blogger is saluting Israel for showing how not important VP Biden is to the peace process, can you think of them pulling that kind of thing of former VP Cheney. If the Obama Administration wants any influence with Israel it should have sent either Secretary Gates or Secretary Clinton, heavy hitters not foot in mouth Biden. Any Palestinian State has to show that its not a threat to Israel, also Israel should be in charge of the air space and defences of any Palestinian state, after time if there is trust then the people of a Palestinian State can have all the rights of a State.

2012 - The New Reagan ?

The Boston Globe: A critical article on former Mass Governor Mitt Romney, it has a simple message " Mitt: You are no Ronald Reagan. ". As the Boston Globe is a Liberal paper it does not want Governor Romney to win the 2012 nomination thus this attack, Romney is not Reagan that is for sure, in video footage Romney disavows the Reagan - Bush years. The move by the Governor Romney to the right is solely down to politics, he is a fake it is sorry to say, if you disavow Reagan you lose this blog. It can be argued that Senator Scott Brown has more of a chance of winning the nomination, he is a real Conservative and does not come across as fake. Thus if the Republicans are to repeat the Presidential success of Reagan in 1980 and 1984 and Bush 41 in 1988 they need to look at Senator Brown not the fake Romney.

Pelosi OUT of TOUCH ?

Politico: Reports on the problems on the desk of Speaker Pelosi, from Democrats with ethic problems to getting votes for health care reform, how this could be a problem for her authority in the House. On health care reform the Speaker expects moderate and conservative Democrats to go over the cliff with Obama. The problem is that Speaker Pelosi comes from a safe liberal district and Obama does not face re-election in till 2012. If the moderate and conservative Democrats are sane ( liberals and sanity can be a odd combination ) then they will push Speaker Pelosi offer the cliff, otherwise Pelosi will push her own members over the cliff to justify her liberal agenda.

The Deal ? - HCR

Fox News: Reports that health care is closer to getting passed by the House, Anti Abortion leader, Congressman Bart Stupak has stated that he is close to deal with House leaders that would prevent federal money for abortion. As stated in this blog some time ago there was a 60/40 chance that the Bill would pass, the moderate and blue dog democrats have this habit of folding under pressure from the House leadership. In this case its wrong that the liberal leadership should fold over abortion, there are lot of poor women out in the USA that should get help with abortion costs and one would expect the Democratic Party to help them, but it seems it does not have the backbone to stand up to Conservative Democrats, thus as always with the Democrats the women lose.
