Lets Get Real:

The presser if your in the Ukraine will leave you in a state of sock, the Western line had been that any attack on the Ukraine would mean drastic and severe sanctions by the West on Russia, more than it had been in 2014.  The idea of a minor invasion would lead to a different reaction and arguments between the Allies will be seen by Kremlin as stated a a green light to invade and that as long a they keep the noise down in the neighbourhood then the US and its NATO allies will do something minor in reaction.  The FACT that the White House had to CLEAR and CLEAN this up shows how badly Biden had done at the presser, thus if PUTIN does attack the Biden White House will be forced to act or face calls of being appeasers, no one comes back from that.  As stated in previous post, the Biden Oval does not want to be compared to  Neville Chamberlain the appeasing PM of the 1930s or JFK for selling out Turkey in 1962 to end the Cuban Missile Crisis.  If your a Democrat strategist you are thinking, who on the Democratic Bench would be a good candidate for the 2024 Democratic nomination.  Politics is a brutal business.

Thus above we see POTUS giving the green light for Russia to do a minor invasion of the Ukraine, small enough for Russia to get what it wants, one presumes the EAST of the Ukraine, but leaving KIEV and the rest of Western Ukraine ALONE.  The President states above that there will be fight between the ALLIES if it is a minor invasion, thus no matter what the White House Press Secretary states or the VP the words will come back to haunt Biden.  The liberal media gave the Gipper a HARD TIME, well one hopes that the MEDIA will go after Biden for the above remarks, it is an open invite to invade the Ukraine, as long as it is not too loud.  The above remarks undercut the tough word out of the White House and the Administration, Putin will like his chances, of course the above remarks might force Biden to ACT, he does not want to be seen as Neville Chamberlain.  One really has doubts that Biden will run in 2024, he will be ancient by then and less there.

POTUS really messed up his presser when it came to the Ukraine, he implied that a minor Russian incursion would require a limited US and Western action, also implied that NATO was not united.  EVEN CNN has been leading with this story, the general view is that President Biden was speaking as if he was still a Senator, in other words his words did not matter, but as President HIS words do matter. The CNN Kiev reporter was getting messages that the Ukraine Government was shocked by the statement by Biden that US and Western action would be limited by a minor invasion by Russia.   Thus BIDEN really needs to get a new CHIEF OF STAFF, you do not let the boss out if he does not know what NOT TO SAY.  Thus ANY MILITARY ACTION by Russia will now call on the Biden Oval to take forceful action, otherwise the Biden mess will be seen as giving a GREEN LIGHT for Russia to invade.

Thu we have the meeting between the US Secretary of State and the Russian Foreign Minister on Friday in Geneva, one hopes that some kind of diplomatic way can be found for Russia to save face, Putin has boxed himself in, he wants NATO to say in Treaty form that the Ukraine will never joint NATO and those former Warsaw Countries in Eastern Europe who joined NATO will have their NATO troops removed with their equipment, this is a NO STARTER, even IF Biden wanted to do that he does not have the influence on the Hill.  It's Mid Terms year, no politician Republican or Democrat wants to be called a APPEASER in the shape o Neville Chamberlain of appeasement infamy.   The US and the West can agree on the need for new missiles treaty to replace the now defunct INF Treaty singed by Presidents Reagan and Gorbachev.  Also on a agreement on when the sides can have military drills.  This is the OUT for Putin, the question is will he take this deal.

The Biden Oval would be smart to throw all the military support the Ukraine might need if the Russia invades, the very threat could prevent Putin doing something stupid.  As stated in this blog, what if Neville Chamberlain had sent military support to Poland in 1939, would Hitler have invaded, it a open question.  The US could make life very difficult for Russians Soldiers if the invade, as they faced in Afghanistan in the 1980s, when the Reagan Administration supported the rebels.  The very threat of arms supplies to the Kiev Government should send some chitters in the Kremlin, what if during that process a US supply plane is HITA, what will the US do then, there are so many ways this could go wrong for the WORLD.   POTUS needs to video call Putin and put the fear of God in to him.  The Russian Bear has its weak points.

Let's hope that the US will support a Ukraine Insurgence operations should Russia invade to take the whole of the Ukraine or just East Ukraine.  In 1980s the Reagan Administration helped the Afghanistan Insurgence against the USSR who had invaded Afghanistan in 1979.  The US support and the failure of the USSR to crush the insurgence forced the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan in 1989.  The question is does Biden have the guts to be another Reagan, one has doubts, the abysmal failure of the US leaving Afghanistan has shown that Biden is a appeaser of the first order.  The US Secretary of State is meeting the Russian Foreign Minister on Friday in Geneva, if your the Ukraine, Poland or the Baltic States you are worried that the Biden Oval does not have the bottle for a military battle.  In many respects we are waiting to see what Putin does, he has two options, Diplomacy, with small limited gain from his view point or taking the WHOLE of the Ukraine and building up the Russian Federation to be the successor of the USSR.

One hopes the Biden Oval has not lost its bottle, and grants the concessions that Russia want, why else would Russia come along, in less they want to show to their own people that they have tried every diplomatic avenue.  If your in Kiev you are worried that the Biden Oval will do a MUNICH 1938 and sell you out, one hopes that White House has been in close contact with the Kiev Government and will support it if the talks fail on Friday.  On the Diplomatic front if that is what the Russian want their is the chance of new INF Treaty and Treaty Agreements on when both sides will have WAR GAMES,  that is all the NATO West can offer, the Kremlin has demanded more, that the Ukraine never becomes part of NATO and that East European States in NATO have NATO troops removed from their soil, also equipment.  The Baltic States and Poland will be worried that Biden will do a JFK in 1962 and sell them out, as JFK did to Turkey to end the Cuban Missile Crisis.  The secret nature of that deal is the reason why Putin wants a TREATY, he saw Khrushchev was removed from power because of the public impression that he had FAILED over Cuba and Turkey.   Thus all eyes will be on Geneva on Friday.
