The Republicans to TAKE House - NYT

The New York Times: Reports on its forecast that the Republicans will retake the House of Representatives. The liberal NYT must think it must play nice with the Republicans or they will get a door slammed in their faces after November if the Republicans take the House. Or the extreme liberal NYT wants to warn liberal voters to get them out to vote, in any event this is an significant development folks.

Trouble from Scotland - Gordon Brown

The Daily Mail: Reports that former Labour PM Gordon Brown is furious with the new Labour Leader “ Red “ Ed “ Brutus ” Miliband for his attack on the economic record of the Blair/Brown Years. Advice to Ed Miliband don’t kick the Blair/Brown Camps to much they can fight back unlike his brother David Miliband. The last thing Ed Miliband needs is for the Blair and Brown Camps to unite and take him down a notch, they can and will if they chose to act. Also the Dark Prince Lord Mandelson has been very quiet. Lets see what the Sunday papers have on Ed Miliband; any attacks from the creators of New Labour; you cross the Blair/Brown/ Mandelson Axis are your political peril. Lets recall that Ed Miliband didn’t win the support the majority of his MPs or Labour Party members. Trouble on the horizon folks?

Terror Threat for Europe ?

Telegraph: Reports that the US might issue a European wide terror alert for US Citizens on Sunday. In a way the terrorists have won, of late all over Europe you have seen EU Governments getting very worried about a Al Qaeda threat to Europe. The questions is what next, is Al Qaeda playing a game, creating a crisis mentality then nothing, is a long term plan to tire the population with threats that never follow through and then one day will Al Qaeda let off a nuclear device or dirty bomb in the heart of Europe. The Obama White House has a problem, if they underplay such threats and it happens they will have seen as caring more about their left wing than US security but if they send in ground troops in to Pakistan the left will go bonkers and Obama will not get the Democratic nomination for President in 2012. In the UK its quiet, no COBRA meetings, no rushed meetings in 10 Downing Street, is that good or bad, does MI6 have better intelligence than CIA, what does the Israeli Mossad think, do they have better info. The hunch of VIEWS is that Al Qaeda is testing Western security, if they can get lucky then they will strike but it could just be an operation to keep the West on heighten alert.

The Middle East Problem

BBC News: Reports that the Palestinians will not carry on Peace talks with the Israel in less Israel stops building Israeli Settlements on the West Bank. When looking at the Middle East you have to deal with the reality on the ground and the idea of peace, in the reality Israel has built on ground that is seen as the foundations of a Palestinian State, the idea of peace is for a modern Palestinian State, the two cant exist together, Israel wants a secure state, the Palestinians as is their right want part of their homeland back, its never going to happen, there is a winner and a loser. Thus the constant failures in the Middle East, Obama cant place to much pressure on Israel, even Speaker Pelosi has made it clear that the Congress will always support Israel no matter Obama’s policy. Thus what next, more endless meetings, sad deaths, more meetings and deaths, that is the Middle East folks.

NO NO, Mad Men to Sky ?

Guardian: Reports that BBC could lose Mad Men to Sky. Well folks this is the final straw, what is the point of the BBC TAX if they cant keep one of the best shows on the TV. The BBC should cancel its morning shows, and fund Mad Men. Folks if the BBC lose Mad Men then the new Coalition Government should sell BBC on the open market, allow it to have adverts and sell shares in the co - operation, No Don Draper No BBC Tax. Folks starts those emails and twitter, who cares about Ed Miliband this is serious folks.

Rahm Emanuel OUT

Telegraph: Reports that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is to leave the Obama Administration on Friday to run for Mayor of Chicago. Its interesting timing folks, a month before the 2010 Mid Term Elections, one can postulate that once Mr Emanuel is back in Chicago the Obama White House will blame him if President Obama loses the House and Senate in November. As noted in few articles from the US it seems that Mr Emanuel had constant runs in with the liberals around Obama, also you have a President who thinks he is the smartest person in the room, when you have Bob Woodward in the room with the President its not Obama that is the smartest. If the Republicans take the House and Senate and it looks like the Republicans will take the House and get parity with the Democrats in the Senate the Obama White House will have a decision, in 1994 Bill Clinton had the same election outcome, he moved the centre and won re-election in 1996, but Clinton like Reagan was pragmatic, Obama as stated thinks he is the smartest person in the room, how will his arrogance and ego cope with a Congress that just says NO. This election in some odd respects will really show the Obama character, can he be pragmatic, or is he so stuck to the liberal cause that he wants to be a one term President like Carter.

Ireland Bankrupt ?

BBC News: Reports that the cost of bailing out the banks of Ireland has gone up to thirty nine billion pounds, and the debts of Ireland is now 32% of the Gross National Product. My problem with these bailouts is that they never seem to end, the banks seem to be hiding the real debt and only being open when they want money. The Government of Ireland is throwing good money down the toilet, the banks should be allowed to fail, then its over, with the present cases the bailouts never end, even schools and hospitals seem to be at risk, it would be logical to fail the banks and start again. Yes folks there would be pain, a lot of pain, the welfare state are Western Europe has known since 1945 would come to and end, but all good things end, its how they end that matters, throwing good money down the toilet will be a disaster for Western Europe.
