Ukraine talks " Very Productive '' - US

BBC News: Reports the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has had talks in Florida with the Ukraine, US stated they were ' Very Productive ' but more talks needed.

Lets Get Real:

This is good news after the Ukrainian money scandal in the Ukraine. This shows the Ukraine is holding firms to its red lines, of no recognition of land taken by Russia, no rejection of NATO, no cap on level of its armed forces, these are firm lines and should be held whatever the pressure from the Trump Oval.  Of late articles in the UK Daily Mail and Sun have reported that Trump wants to recognition the Dobass and Crimea as Russian.  This must not STAND.

Sky News: Reports that President Trump has warned that Air Space around Venezuela is closed to planes as Trump sees the Venezuela Government is illegitimate.

Lets Get Real:

This is additional pressure on the Drug Trafficking Venezuela Government.  The US Department of War has sent in the US Navy in to the region.  The aircraft carrier, Gerald R Ford is heading the fleet.  As stated before in this blog, one doubts that POTUS will take military action against the South American country, it would go against his America First pledge of 2024, Venezuela is not Grenada, and Trump is no Ronald Reagan, he does not have the backbone to take action, his political base would not be happy, 2026 Mid Terms are around the corner, Trump does not need a land War in Venezuela, politics never ends in the US.

kyiv Government is illegitimate - Putin

BBC News: Reports that President Putin has called the Kyiv Governmemt illegitimate and therefore not legitimate to sign a peace treaty.

This shows Putin true colours, he wants ALL his demands meet, he wants occupation of the Crimea, and all of the Donbas, even those controlled by Kyiv to be given to Russia.  The original 28 clause peace deal was a Russian wish list, the European counter proposal is more in Kyiv favour.  Thus more talks, US Envoy Steve Witkoff is in Moscow next week, thus endless circles of revised peace deals by Diplomats and an erratic President in the US.

This shows that Witkoff is biased in favour of Russia, another Russian pawn in the Trump Court, they do not need Witkoff as Trump is the lap dog to Putin.  Witkoff has never been to Ukraine, but has been to Moscow numerous times.   Question, where is the US Secretary of State, with the exception of Geneva is has not been seen, is thinking about 2028 and does not want the contamination of being seen as an appeaser.  Politics change and America First might be out of favour with the good people of Iowa and New Hampshire in 2028.

Ukraine agrees to US Peace Plan - Update

Sky News: Reports in its 12.53pm post that the Ukraine has agreed to the Trump Peace Plan, just a few minor details to work out.

The question that has to be asked, what plan is the talking about, the Russian pro plan or the European plan that is pro Ukraine, and makes sure that the Russians pay some price for their invasion of the Ukraine in 2022.   This could be the Trump Oval trying to create pressure on President of the Ukraine before his visit this week to the Oval Office.   One hopes that the Ukraine and Europe and the US are on the same page, and not the Russia page, their demands was full of a Russian wish list that would please Moscow, and would have negative consequences for the Ukraine and Western Europe and the Baltic States.

BBC News: Reports that US and Russia are to have secret talks in Abu Dhabi about the Updated Peace Talks/Details.

Lets Get Real:

Last night the Ukraine AND Russia hit each other with Drones and a cruise missile hit Kyiv as reported by CNN.  The Russians are not happy about the Updated Peace plan, thus the secret meeting in Abu Dhabi, the Russians wany ALL demands meet and will try to persuade the President to go back to their 27 clauses, a surrender document, that would cause a protest in the Ukraine.   This cannot be allowed to become another Munich 1938, this would lead another World War.

Still some problems with Ukraine Peace Deal - White House

Sky News: Reports that the White House has stated that there has been progression with the Ukraine Peace Deal, but there are still outstanding problems to deal with, also Russia has not seen the new revised and reformed pece plan.

The new revised plan, allowing the Ukraine to have eight hundred thousand Armed Forces, to decided if it joins NATO, that no land taken by Russia it now owns, that the Donbas held by the Ukraine should not be given to Russia. The 28 clause document is now 19.

There has been progress on the Ukraine Peace Deal, the previous plan ( Russain Plan )has been thrown in the bin it seems, there is still problem of the control of the Donbas and NATO membership for the Ukraine. The Aggression and invasion is not accepted as a given. As reported Zelensky could visit D.C this week, thus the game afoot.

BBC News: Reports in its 9.14pm post that President Zelensky of the Ukraine could visit Washington D.C this week, depending on how the talks have gone in Geneva.

Lets Get Real:

There is some confusing reports, that either Europe has given the US an alternative peace plan or that the US is working from its 28 point plan and updating as the day goes.   The US/Russian plan was far to generous to Russia, it would mean surrender of the Ukraine, and would bring the people out on the streets to protest as they did with the pro Russian Government was in power.  The one thing that has been left out of the revised plan is the idea by the US/Russia that the Ukraine give up land in control to Russia, after holding them for 11 years.  This should be a non starter, Trump will have to cope with the Epstein files coming out, he might not have the bandwith to be a pawn to Russia.  Depending on what are in the files!  The meeting in Geneva will go on tomorrow, interesting developments ahead.

European Counter Peace Deal - Progress Update

Sky News: Reports on the counter European Peace Deal for the Ukraine.

Lets Get Real:

The revised European Peace Deal is better for the Ukraine, JUST, the armed forces will be eight hundred thousand, compared to six hundred thousand, NATO membership is off the table for now, the US will give a NATO Article 5 for the security of the Ukraine, in other words the US will protect the Ukraine should Russia start another WAR, the Sovereignty of the Ukraine is confirmed ( whatever that means ).   The rest of Peace points give to much to Russia, back in to the G8, no more sanctions.   The full Document should be an interesting read, the question is can the people of the Ukraine swallow it.

The Ukraine President has a hard choice, either lose the US as an ally or surrender his Country to the Russians.  The President of the Ukraine should call Trump's bluff, SAY NO to his demands and wait out Trump, the President is forcing this move as he expects his Department of Justice to release the Epstein files, if they have damaging information on him, then Trump will be dead on the Hill, and the US House and Senate can override to give support to Kyiv,  it is  a matter of patience, Russia has accepted the deal, it would, they get all they ever wanted.  This is the time for Europe to show it can lead, SHAME TRUMP, there is one thing that the Americans can not stand is a weak President who has overplayed his hand.   Neither Trump or Tony Blair did international politics and international history in University, thus Trump can not see or does not want to see that this is another Munich 1938, he is Neville Chamberlain write large, even Chamberlain woke up in September 1939 and saw Hitler for who he was, Trump is a Russian pawn and is about humiliate the US and the West.

This is the time for the Ukraine and Western Europe to be very firm with Trump, shout it from the Hill if need be, Europe supports the Ukraine and no peace plan without the Ukraine being part of the process.  Trump can't leave NATO, before the US election, the US Congress removed the decision about leaving NATO from POTUS.  The Oval cannot afford a row with Europe, not with Epstein files about to be released.  Trump is on a sticky wicket at home.

The Europeans have to stand up to the Trump Oval, the proposed peace deal is a Russian wish list, in includes the removal of sanctions on Russia, also as stated in previous post, Russian demans that include the Ukraine not joining NATO, reduction of its armed forces and removal of long range missiles. Also give up land in Eastern Ukraine, that it controls.  SKY News reports that the Trump Oval expects the Ukraine to sign on next week. Europe must ACT, NOW.

The Ukraine and Europe have to flatter Trump, POTUS is famously thin skinned.  The Peace deal will not fly ( see last post for details ) the document is a surrender document, there is no way it would pass Ukraine Parliament, no matter how weak Zelensky is at the moment, so in the end the Peace Deal is Dead or Arrival, Europe has to be firm with Trump, he has his own problems, the Epstein files are an example.

The details are a surrender document, the Ukraine must give up the Donbas to the Russians, even areas they control.   The Ukraine Army must be reduced, no long range missiles, no Western troops to secure a ceasfire, the Russian language to be made official, the Russian Church to be the official Church.   These are ALL Russian demands, there is a clause that gives Europe and Ukraine security guarantees, not worth the paper they are written on.  One can only hope that the Ukraine and Europe reject this plan as another Munich 1938.

Russia wants the Ukraine to surrender, their demands would mean that, Kyiv with European support must fight on.  The Oval is a pawn of Russia, when Putin says jump, Trump says how high.  EUROPE must show it is united in its support of Ukraine, also increasing defence spending to 5%.  PUTIN cannot win or it could lead to WW3, as Appeasement did in the 1930s.

The Democrats caved in the Senate and six Democrats in the House supported the move, are they running for re-election is an interesting question? If they are they will face a left wing primary fight.  The Resoultion now goes to POTUS for his signature.  At the end the Republicans won, but at the cost of having another vote in Janury 2026.  Politics never ends in Washington D.C.

Sir Keir has the charisma of a donkey that does not know what to do, the Chancellor will break her word and increase taxes on working people, unemployment is up, and the welfare budget is out of control, millions of people have been thrown on the scrapheap, the young have no future to speak of, and those over 50, are waiting in till they reach pension age.  The Labour Party has flushed the UK down the toilet, Labour always promises more than it  can achieve, we need a new Thatcher.

As the Guardian points out none of the Moderates are up for re-election  in 2026 Mid Terms,  of the eight only two are retiring in 2026, so no political cost to them. Democrats will have to explain why they shut the government for 40 days and Republicans will have to produce their own health plan, if they have one.  They have hated ObamaCare since the start, and the subsidiaries to ObamaCare was due to covid outbreak, that is the problem with welfare, once given it is hard to take back.

The article gives the impression that the US Supreme  Court is not buying the Trump arguments on the authority of POTUS to set Tariffs due to the national debt, the Liberal justices want to show the limit of the Presidential power in the case of Trump, some part of the constitution must be able to block Trump, at this rate we have an Imperial President, just look at Trump's demolition of the East Wing without permission from anyone.  Reagan did not support Tariffs, and only used them for very special cases.

Former VP Cheney Dies - Bush 43 Era

VP Richard Cheney was a giant of US politics, Deputy Chief and later Chief of Staff to President Ford after the Watergate scandal had bought down Richard Nixon, a Congressman who was a Reagan foot solider in the Congress, defended Reagan during the Iran - Contra scandal, Defence Secretary to Bush 41, was a key character in Gulf War 1, and later VP to Bush 43, and bought political weight to the Republican ticket, Cheney and was firm supporter of the Iraq War.  The close relationship between the VP and POTUS took a hit due to peace disaster that was Iraq, also Bush 43 would not pardon Scooter Libby for breaking the law, in fact Trump in one of the first things he did was the Oval was to pardon Libby.  This did not help with the frosty non relationship between Cheney and Trump.  The former VP voted for VP Harris in 2024.

120 Drone Attacks on Russian Region - Ukraine - Russia War

Sky News: Reports in its 3.30pm post that the Ukraine launched 120 drone strikes on a Russian Border Region according to Russia.

Lets Get Real:

The above is from a Russian source, it could be true or not, the Russians cannot be trusted, Moscow will be happy to hear that POTUS does not plan to give tomahawk Missiles to the Ukraine, the Russian lap dog has given Moscow the green light to further attack the Ukraine.   This blog would not be socked if Moscow dropped a nuclear device on Kyiv or used battle field nuclear weapons to finish this war. It is estimated that Russia has lost a million men in the Ukraine War, there a limits on how much a tyrant can lose on the battlefield, Putin is afraid of conscription, the young who can leave have already left.   The failures of WW1 lead to the fall of the Tsar in 1917.
