CNN got its knickers in a twist, they seem to care more about drug traffickers, no one was hurt, and the level of attack by drone was at a low level, that the Regime did not know about the attack in till POTUS mentioned it in Radio interview.  Trump must understand that covert means secret, not something you publish on the radio.

This shows that neither the Ukraine or the coalition of the willing TRUST the word of the Russians or their leader President Putin.  THE West will be drawing a line in the sand, this and no further! The troops will be at RISK from the Russians, they will need to go in full combat mode, if it happens there will be casualties, everyone needs their eyes open to the consequences, it could lead to WW3.

15 year Security Guarantee from the US - Update

BBC News: Reports that US offered a 15 year security guarantee to the Ukraine, Kyiv wants 50 years.

The Kremlin won't like this, also no agreement on the Donbas or the biggest nuclear plant in the World.  At least Zelensky got some security guarantees out of Trump, this should match the European security guarantees, any plan will go to a referendum, what if the people say NO.   Thus more Diplomacy to come, while the people of Ukraine suffer and die.

US and Ukraine agree on Progress after Summit- Update

BBC News: Reports in its 10.31pm post that Presidents Trump and Zelensky agreed that there had been progress in the talks.

This blog was watching a Sky History of FDR, US President from 1933 to 1945.  Then turned and watched the news conference for Presidents Trump and Zelensky from Florida.   POTUS was going through his usual routine, blaming the Ukraine War on the Russian hoax and that Biden was the worse President in history.   POTUS loves to hear himself speak, like a broken record.   The Ukraine President was quiet and lets Trump do most of the talking. Wise move from Zelensky.  At the end of the Summit, not a lot happened at least they did not go back.  Trump has a fetishism for defending Putin!!  Thus the War goes on.  Trump should learn from the leadership of FDR, that was a great President. PUTIN will never agree to the Revised Peace Deal.  The Kremlin wants the Donbas and does not want NATO or European Troops in Ukraine.

The Ukraine leader has stated if talks do not go well with Trump then Ukraine will hold a referendum on the Donbas.  The most recent poll shows 75% of the Ukraine people do not want to give Russia the Donbas, they must recall Munich 1938 and the Appeasement of Hitler by Neville Chamberlain and the West, that lead to parts of Czechoslovakia being given to Nazi Germany.  In 1939, Hitler took the rest of Czechoslovakia, the Ukraine is the modern Czechoslovakia, this time the West cannot fail, it would lead WW3

Sky News  Reports in its 11.08am post the new Peace Plan for the Ukraine - Russian War, " Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the latest version of a 20-point peace plan agreed by Ukraine and the US has been shared with Russian negotiators. "

The Russian version cooked up by the US and Russia has been binned, the new plan is more Ukraine cantered, not gifts for the Russians for invading, the Donbas would become a Free Economic Zone, but with the Ukraine doing policing of the area.   The Army would stay at eight hundred thousand and the Ukraine would get NATO like security guarantees, one presumes with the coalition of the willing to safe guard the border, and to prevent any violations.  One doubts that the Russians will sign up, they are winging the gradual war in the Donbas and they will want to show to the Russian public that they have won, after the cost in troops in treasure.  Thus more endless talks, Europe will have to back Ukraine, the era of Pax America is over.

BBC News: Reports that President Zelensky has moved to accept a Free Economic Zone or a non Military Zone, with the coalition of the willing as back up, also a security guarantee from the US.

Moscow will say NO, why bother asking them or it will be a Yes,But.  Putin wants the whole of Donbas, he has made the CLEAR, Europe will have to defend the Ukraine or they are NEXT, and they are part of NATO, thus WW3.  Poor Ukraine.

The presser was in Palm Beach, Florida not in D.C, thus the times mentioned in my last post were wrong.  The President had Secretaries of State and War with him, also the Secretary of the Navy, on the whole the press kept it attention on Venezuela, just one or two questions on the Epstein files.   The files were on the mind of Trump and it showed.  The President stated a few times that the press were asking him Epstein when they should be covering his good news announcements, Trump likes to praise himself if no one else will, thus the news on new Battleships, Trump class of new ships.

The Ukraine has given up joining NATO, what have the Russians done, just stress their maximum demands again.  Ukraine has to be tough, Trump is an appeaser of Putin, only Europe is standing with Kyiv, and the coalition of the willing.  TRUMP is the modern Neville Chamberlain, and Putin is Hitler, the Kremlin is following Hitler's playback in the Ukraine, its 1938 all over again, the Ukraine is Czechoslovakia, attempting to survive invasion.  What will Europe do to defend the Kyiv Governmemt.

Putin wants the USSR back, he has stated the dissolution of the USSR was the greatest tragedy of the 20th Century, he seems to have forgotten WW1, WW2, the holocaust.  Let's be clear, Putin wants Imperial Russia back, that would include Finland and the Baltic States.   PUTIN has fooled numerous President of the US going back to Bush 43, the exception was Biden.  The Russian War machine thought Ukraine would be a walk over, it was not, even with Trump in the White House.

This is a way of doing it, it is not Russian frozen Assets held in Belgium.  This will annoy Putin, he is making claims that Ukraine is retreating on all fronts, typical Russian false claims, the WAR is costing Russia in men and resources, as long as the West, in this case Europe funds Ukraine by whatever means then the WAR can go on.  Russia cannot be allowed to win.

The Belgium PM has great reservations about the plan, this blog has a long memory, the UK supported Belgium in 1914, thus the start WW1, also Belgium during the First Gulf War would not give missil parts for the UK, they said SORRY, its the first reaction that is important, the European Countries are trying prevent WW3, while Belgium is playing politics, if they are ever invaded again then the UK should consider its position.  Let's hope Europe gets its act together over the next few hours and days.

It's best to review a speech after a good night's sleep.  The speech was angry, POTUS defended is domestic agenda, he seemed to get more angry as he went on, his poll numbers have gone down, every 2nd term President has this problem, it should be noted Reagan's polls went down after Iran - Contra, his polls only went up after he admitted the policy mistake from the Oval Office.  Let's note Reagan left OFFICE with a 63% approval rating and his VP becoming President.  One wonders if Trump can do the same.

This is further Russia distortion of the truth, finally the West is taking the Russian threat seriously, the Appeasement of Russia over Ukraine could lead to WW3, the Russian Bear is a tyranny, and the autocracy controls Russia, as did the USSR did during the Communist era.  The UK lion and the American Eagle has to be on guard, whatever Putin and Trump say about the issue.

The Russians are stuck in their previous demands, they must have seen the news from Berlin, they will NEVER accept Western Troops in the Ukraine or the US security guarantees from the US and Europe.   Thus the Trump will have to make a choice, does he support Europe over Russia, did he have balls of steel to go up against Putin, his tyrant buddy.  The next few days will be interesting.

Sky News: Reports in its 6.57pm post that European leaders have agreed to supply a multi national force for Ukraine às a security guarantee.

Moscow will reject this move and the US security guarantees, they will see this as threat, NATO Troops in East Ukraine, thus preventing Russia from doing another attack in future.  This will force Trump to blame Russia, of course he could go back the Russian approved peace plan and place more on Ukraine.  This would force Europe to take a firm stand against Trump and Putin.  Thus more talks to come, talks are better than War as Churchill would have said, in the meantime the poor people of Ukraine suffer.

US to offer Security Guarantees to Ukraine - Update

CNN: Reports that the Trump Administration is offer iron clad security guarantees to Ukraine.

Lets Get Real:

As the article makes clear, the US offer is time sensitive, in other words Trump wants a quick answer.  The Oval wants the Nobel Peace Prize, thus will do anything to get it, thus forcing him to place pressure on Putin, his tyrant buddy to accept the deal if Europe and the Ukraine agree to a peace deal.  The question what kind of security guarantees will be, do they need Senate Approval, if not, then they are not worth the paper they are written on.  POTUS cannot be trusted, to come and support the Ukraine should Russia come back for more, and they will at some time.

The above is shocking from a German Chancellor, one never thought one would hear that, Sir Keir Starmer is still on the fence trying to keep Ukraine, Europe and the US on the same page, how long can he do that, in the end it has to come to UK and European Security, if Trump is under the thumb of Moscow, then Europe will have to give iron clad security guarantees to the Ukraine.  The issue of the Ukraine, will be front and centre for years when it comes to foreign policy.

Thus the first concession by Zelensky, one thinks that the Kremlin will want more, Kyiv cannot concede on the land it controls, it would allow the Russians to come back for more and they will come back, the Russian word cannot be trusted, it shown over the years that it lies as it breathes, something like President Trump.  The Kyiv Government and the Western Europeans should demand concessions from Moscow, it cannot be allowed to gain by its invasion, it would come back, for more in the future. Appeasement has been followed before in the 1930s, and lead to WW2. now it would lead to WW3.

Thus more meetings, Trump might have a point about that, the US wants the Donbas in East Ukraine to become a Free Economic Zone, the Ukrainian troops would leave, would you trust the Russian word not take advantage of this new situation.  The Ukraine would require IRON CLAD Security Guarantees, from Europe and the US, legally binding, not just Trump's word, not worth the paper it would be written on.    Europe has decided to freeze Russian assets, they should given to the Ukraine, that would hurt Putin and help the Ukraine.

Sky News: Reports in its 4.10pm post that President Trump is suggesting a Free Economic Zone for the Donbas if Ukrainian forces leave, Russians would stay.  President Zelensky wants a referendum on this idea.

Lets Get Real:

The Free Economic Zone won't work as the Russians would CHEAT, as they did in Crimea, soldiers with no recognition on uniforms.  The people in the Ukraine would be placing a gun to their own heads, in less there are real security guarantees by the US and Europe.   The referendum idea is also a bad idea as the Russians would CHEAT again, rig the ballots in the East Ukraine to get the vote they want! The Russians are lying SOB's, they cannot be trusted.

We are next, Russian Threat - NATO

Guardian: Reports in its 12.35pm post that the NATO Secretary General has warned that NATO countries are the next target for Russia after the Ukraine.

Lets Get Real:

If Russia wins in  Ukraine then Poland, Baltic States are  the NEXT land grap by Russia.  EUROPE has not seen such a threat since 1930s and the rise of Nazi Germany.  The simple solution and a brave one, is to place UK, France and German troops in Ukraine, draw a line in the sand, say to Putin, NO MORE.  Thus to prevent WW3 take the lead, Putin will back off for a while at least.

It has come to something, that the suppose Western Allies have to have a frank talk about European security, and the problem is not Russia as such, but the Oval Office.  This could be the break up of the Western Alliance, a system that has defended the US and Europe against the Evil Empire of Russia since the dawn of the Cold War.  The question is will Trump and coalition of the willing give security guarantees to Ukraine, does NATO still have a job.  Interesting days ahead.

The revised and amended plan will go down like the Titanic with the US, Trump has shown his true colours, he is a Russian puppet, if Kyiv does not give land concessions in the Donbas or cap its forces, this won't fly with Moscow, the Europeans want to be part of the process, thus we come to the Coalition of the willing, in this case the UK,France and Germany, they want solid security guarantees from the US, in Treaty form, the MAGA supporters will oppose that kind of Treaty, expect a negative reaction from the US and Russia.  What security guarantees will Europe give, this is the time for Europe to show its collective power.

BBC News: Reports President Zelensky is willing to hold elections in the Ukraine if there are security guarantees from the US and Europe.

Lets Get Real:

This is a clever move by Zelensky, it places the onus in the US and Europe.  This will shut up Trump, he cannot give security guarantees as this would require Senate Approval if in Treaty form, this would guarantee security guarantees by the US. The Republican base of Trump supporters would oppose, they fear another Iraq or Afghanistan. PUTIN will get his wish, he will need a weak candidate that he can control if in opposition to Zelensky.  The Europeans will also be called to place troops on the ground, something Putin will oppose.  IN the end elections will not be held, to much trouble for the coalition of the willing and the US.

The Trump Oval wants to get out of the Ukraine peace deal process, his base wants him to learn more in domestic issues, Trump must know that he could face a Democratic House next year.  They will mount full investigations in to the 2nd Trump term, only on Foreign  policy will he have a free hand, as long as he does not plan to invade anywhere!  The 2026 Mid Terms will see that start of the 2028 Presidential cycle, if it goes to plan, then VP Vance will be making many visits to Iowa and New Hampshire, the Democratic does not have a clear leader.  The Oval will want to invade Venezuela while still have control of Congress, also he will want to clear Ukraine from his schedule, that would go down well with his base and Trump voters for 2026 and 2028.

Europe, in this case France, Germany, have to decide if they can replace US as the main support for the Ukraine, the UK under Sir Keir is already there, while also keeping POTUS happy, he is peeved that Zelensky has not yet read the new peace plan! Thus the UK, France and Germany and others have to decided how close they want the Russian Bear, Ukraine is like Czechoslovakia in 1938, once Russia gets the Donbas, what stops going for Kyiv later on.   Do Europe want to give security guarantees to Ukraine, they might be called sooner than you think.

The Ukrainian President has so far not read the revised Peace plan for the Ukraine, as the article notes this has made POTUS unhappy, his son has suggested  that Trump could walk away from the talks, his voters want him to concentrate on domestic issues.  That is the problem with America First philosophy, thank God that FDR was President in 1939 - 41, with leand lease, this helped UK in WW2.    One gets the impression that Trump would have supported the Axis powers, he likes tyrants.

PUTIN is making it clear he has not changed his demands, he wants the WHOLE of the Donbas in Eastsern Ukraine, and no US security guarantees from the US for a reduced a Ukraine.  The West, in this case Europe has to defend Ukraine or Eastsern Ukraine is next, that means the Baltics and Poland.

Not total rejection of US peace plan - Russia

The Russian Bear is playing games, it does not want to annoy POTUS, it accepted some parts of the US peace Plan but stated some parts we're unacceptable to the Kremlin.   It will be interesting to see what Trump says and who he blames.  The grind of WAR goes on.

The 28 point plan produced by Moscow is in the bin, there is no way that Zelensky in Kyiv could have agreed, his Government would have fallen, thus the European version has also been rejected by Moscow.  The Kremlin is sabre rattling again, they want to divide Europe from the US.  Italy is going through panic attack, as in WW1 and WW2, you cannot trust Rome, they had been supporting the Ukraine, now they have frozen arms supplies to the Ukraine.   This endless war carries on in Europe.

One has to ask if this is a good idea, it was Witkoff who produced the first peace plan that was very favourable to Russia, it was a Russian wish lit for Christmas.  It has been reported that the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio is more of a hawk on the Ukraine - Russia War and that different branches of Trump's foreign policy term as doing their own thing, and it will come down to whom Trump favours and what Russia will give concessions on, if any.   The Kyiv Government under President Zelensky  will not give up land, it would fall if he was pushed in to any agreement.   Steve Witkoff has never visited the Ukraine, and seems to view the War through the eyes of Trump, the President is very pro Russia, thus Europe has to be firm with the White House, they have to support Kyiv, and be ready to send troops from the coalition of willing in to East Ukraine, as a buffer zone between the Ukraine and Russia.

This will be difficult issue, there is no way that Zelensky could sign a deal that gives away Ukrainian land still under control of Kyiv, his government could fall, the Ukrainian Parliament would say NO, the thing that Trump could offer would be security guarantees that  are approved by the US Senate. Everyone knows that Putin will come back for more in the future.

This is good news after the Ukrainian money scandal in the Ukraine. This shows the Ukraine is holding firms to its red lines, of no recognition of land taken by Russia, no rejection of NATO, no cap on level of its armed forces, these are firm lines and should be held whatever the pressure from the Trump Oval.  Of late articles in the UK Daily Mail and Sun have reported that Trump wants to recognition the Dobass and Crimea as Russian.  This must not STAND.

The question that has to be asked, what plan is the talking about, the Russian pro plan or the European plan that is pro Ukraine, and makes sure that the Russians pay some price for their invasion of the Ukraine in 2022.   This could be the Trump Oval trying to create pressure on President of the Ukraine before his visit this week to the Oval Office.   One hopes that the Ukraine and Europe and the US are on the same page, and not the Russia page, their demands was full of a Russian wish list that would please Moscow, and would have negative consequences for the Ukraine and Western Europe and the Baltic States.

Last night the Ukraine AND Russia hit each other with Drones and a cruise missile hit Kyiv as reported by CNN.  The Russians are not happy about the Updated Peace plan, thus the secret meeting in Abu Dhabi, the Russians wany ALL demands meet and will try to persuade the President to go back to their 27 clauses, a surrender document, that would cause a protest in the Ukraine.   This cannot be allowed to become another Munich 1938, this would lead another World War.

The new revised plan, allowing the Ukraine to have eight hundred thousand Armed Forces, to decided if it joins NATO, that no land taken by Russia it now owns, that the Donbas held by the Ukraine should not be given to Russia. The 28 clause document is now 19.

There is some confusing reports, that either Europe has given the US an alternative peace plan or that the US is working from its 28 point plan and updating as the day goes.   The US/Russian plan was far to generous to Russia, it would mean surrender of the Ukraine, and would bring the people out on the streets to protest as they did with the pro Russian Government was in power.  The one thing that has been left out of the revised plan is the idea by the US/Russia that the Ukraine give up land in control to Russia, after holding them for 11 years.  This should be a non starter, Trump will have to cope with the Epstein files coming out, he might not have the bandwith to be a pawn to Russia.  Depending on what are in the files!  The meeting in Geneva will go on tomorrow, interesting developments ahead.

European Counter Peace Deal - Progress Update

The revised European Peace Deal is better for the Ukraine, JUST, the armed forces will be eight hundred thousand, compared to six hundred thousand, NATO membership is off the table for now, the US will give a NATO Article 5 for the security of the Ukraine, in other words the US will protect the Ukraine should Russia start another WAR, the Sovereignty of the Ukraine is confirmed ( whatever that means ).   The rest of Peace points give to much to Russia, back in to the G8, no more sanctions.   The full Document should be an interesting read, the question is can the people of the Ukraine swallow it.

VP Richard Cheney was a giant of US politics, Deputy Chief and later Chief of Staff to President Ford after the Watergate scandal had bought down Richard Nixon, a Congressman who was a Reagan foot solider in the Congress, defended Reagan during the Iran - Contra scandal, Defence Secretary to Bush 41, was a key character in Gulf War 1, and later VP to Bush 43, and bought political weight to the Republican ticket, Cheney and was firm supporter of the Iraq War.  The close relationship between the VP and POTUS took a hit due to peace disaster that was Iraq, also Bush 43 would not pardon Scooter Libby for breaking the law, in fact Trump in one of the first things he did was the Oval was to pardon Libby.  This did not help with the frosty non relationship between Cheney and Trump.  The former VP voted for VP Harris in 2024.

The above is from a Russian source, it could be true or not, the Russians cannot be trusted, Moscow will be happy to hear that POTUS does not plan to give tomahawk Missiles to the Ukraine, the Russian lap dog has given Moscow the green light to further attack the Ukraine.   This blog would not be socked if Moscow dropped a nuclear device on Kyiv or used battle field nuclear weapons to finish this war. It is estimated that Russia has lost a million men in the Ukraine War, there a limits on how much a tyrant can lose on the battlefield, Putin is afraid of conscription, the young who can leave have already left.   The failures of WW1 lead to the fall of the Tsar in 1917.

The King has done what he had to do, the Crown comes first, it is believed that the Prince of Wales supported this move.  Mr Windsor has fallen from a great height, there is no comeback, if Andrew wants to do a favour for the Royal Family, he will move abroad, the Gulf States it has been mentioned as a location he could move too, The Duke of Sussex should be worried, he could be next when the Prince of Wales becames King.  

When VP Harris was angry with President Biden - 2028 Update

CNN: Reports that former VP Harris has admitted she has a complicated relationship with the former President, there were times when she was angry with him.

Lets Get Real:

This blog could never see Bush 41 being that frank about Reagan or Biden about Obama.  VP Harris blames Biden, her campaign staff for her loss in 2024, she does not seem to get the fact that outside California she might be a BAD CAMPAIGNER, even Obama from news reports had doubts about her in a general election and wanted her to fight for the Nomination rather than be given it by the powers that control the Democratic Party.  HARRIS is running in 2028.
