This is the Advert of the year, this blog has heard more about it that actually seen it, Ms Sweeney is the "IT Girl " of Hollywood at the moment, she has great Genes and looks good in denim, and it has come out that she is a registered Republican, that is catnip for Trump and Republicans.   CNN did a segment that allowed the commentators to make out that the advert is racist, would they have said that if it was an ethnic actress?  This blog on whole keeps out of the cultural wars, but this silly reaction by Democrats and Liberals explains why Democrats are even less popular than Republicans.  This blog takes its hat off to Ms Sweeney, she is rather a good actor it must be said, you would get on your donkey to charge a Windmill for her, I guess beauty has its costs.

I noticed so far that CNN on air has not made reference to these family pardons, if you thought Trump was hyper about President Biden and his supposed family crimes, these very late pardons might make you think that he had a point, Biden has covered his son and now his adult family, one can expect Fox News and more moderate channels will discuss theses pardons.  The inaugural address as stated was America First on steroids, from tough immigration rules to renaming Mountains, the very liberal media will go on the attack, that is all they have, so except no coverage in the liberal media, just sob stories about immigration and the defence of the cultural wars.

Thus folks we are in the SILLY SEASON when it comes to politics, on both sides of the pond, both US and UK pols are off on their ill deserved hols, in the UK the pols go to France, even Brexit supporters, while Democrats go off to liberal States.   As to calling someone Fredo you would have to know about the Godfather, 1,2,3, this blog had a soft spot for Fredo, it's like when you have a successful father and brother and you get the crap DNA, WHATEVER you do, nothing is as good as your more colourful relative, from sports, music to women.   There are worse things to be called, Fredo in the movies only wanted to be loved and get some respect, that did not happen, you will have to watch the Godfather to see what happens to Fredo, it is not good, and Michael Corleone has a nervous breakdown about what happens in Godfather 3.  We are all Fredo's, there is always someone better than us, that is not the point, you have to learn to love yourself, because no else will, that is the lesson of Fredo.

This what happens folks when an informal Empire is on the slide, the US has a 16 trillion debt, there is a stark differences between the lives of the rich and main street, on Wall Street there having a Party, while Mine Street can barely pay its bills by the end of the week.    The US in voting for Obama in 2008 wanted to be liked around the World, well after the Berlin Speech the love has gone, it tends to happen when non US Citizens find that they have been spied on by the US NSA and in the UK its cousin.   The Obama Era failed to live up to expectations folks, its better to under promise and achieve more than over achieve and under deliver, the War in Afghanistan is still going on, the Arab Spring has been a disaster, in Syria the most effective rebels are Al Qaeda franchise groups, it has been reported of late that a hundred thousand Syrians have been killed in the Syrian Civil War.   The chance of Israel taking military action against Iran is growing month by month, the time frame for action is getting closer folks, Iran within a few months will have the bomb, and US/Israel will not be able to act, the above folks is why Obama is seen as weak, and therefore End of Empires comes to all folks. 

Torchwood Tonight 9pm

In this world of doom and gloom we all need a break, recharge the old mental battery, well here is the show for you, Torchwood the spin off from Dr Who. The show has been transferred to BBC 1 and is on for five nights. The first two nights have been great, Captain Jack and the Team are on the run. The Government wants to kill them, No Captain Jack has not tried to chat up the PM!! The aliens 456 are on the way, how come the the team was not asked to deal with them, they better be more scary that the Daleks and Cybermen. Have to admit my favourite is Gwen Cooper, player by Eve Myles, intelligent, attractive and can shoot two guns at the same time, what more can a man ask for, we all know what Captain Jack would ask for, but beyond the scope of this page!! On a more culture side, what is fantastic about Captain Jack Harkness as played by the one and only John Barrowman is that through Dr Who and Torchwood it has changed this Bloggers view about gay issues. As with Willow in Buffy, Jack has allowed old culture Conservatives like me to change my previous views on different cultural issues, like gay marriage, now in favour. It is through good story telling not been told that its PC to change one views, that cultural opinion can be changed, so thank god for Willow and Jack, could we ever get a crossover between Buffy and Torchwood.

I think this is a mistake, it does not matter if your gay or straight everyone has the right to be happy, thus times change, it should be a legal right that gay couple can get married, its not the end of the world, Social Conservatives will just have to get used to the change.

It seems from great Directors to present day politicians, that men can not stand Independent women, I wonder if Senator Obama would have used the lipstick attack on Governor Palin if he had been a man, it has to be asked, racism or sexism has no reason to exist in American Politics.

Elite Media and Obama

New York Times: Are the Elite Media worried if Obama gets elected, that their audience and their pay masters, wont allow any critical or fun remarks about a Obama Administration. Ms Dowd gives that impression, she writes the following, " ....if Obama gets elected and there is nothing funny about him, it won’t be the economy that’s depressed. It will be the rest of us. " This argument has two aspects, one as noticed by Left Wing Bloggers trying to shut down blogs that are critical of Obama. The left cant not take argument, if you challenge them you are anti green, a racist, a warmonger, that is the lack of brain you are dealing with when you deal if you have to with off beam left wing bloggers and voters. On the other hand there is white guilt, if your an elite media type and white you feel you are to blame for the slavery and the Civil War. That the failure of the Civil Rights movement on the home front is a white guilt issue. Thus you can not attack Obama. One word folks, bollocks, it easy to attack Obama on policy, depending on which policy he has changed, you deal with him as a politician. That is showing respect, colour does not matter, he's wrong about Iraq, does not matter if he was white, black or French. Obama given the polls could be the next POTUS but he is a man and a politician, to treat him otherwise would show a lack of respect, to take notice of his colour and therefore refine from stating a view that is opposed to his is a form of paternal racism. All politicians who stand deserve to be examined and laughed at, if you don't think so look at the present state of the world.

As could be expected, the Republicans supported the move while the Democrats want more restrictions on the individual having a gun for legal use such as for the protection of his or her home, Obama in his reaction wants to have it both ways, guidance from the Court but local Laws for different areas of the USA. I think on this issue the Court was wrong and I support the Democrats, being over the water in the UK, even today am shocked to see Police Officers with guns, with the exception of the military and police on the whole support tough anti gun laws. In today's day and age, the use of firearms is to common, thus the need for restriction.

CNN, does seem to stress the Liberal view, but the Republicans have Fox and the Democrats have CNN, Views sometimes thinks it should be called the Democratic Cable Channel.

Abortion and US Politics

It is interesting in looking at the reaction of the Republicans, Democrats to the decision by the US Supreme Court to ban Partial Birth Abortion. What is interesting how any one with an interest could have written their reaction, the Republicans supported and the Democrats opposed, one wonder's if they had their speeches typed up already, no though just pander to their core voters. If one looks at these cultural Issues, abortion or race, the issue themselves have give away to a Industry on the right and left, they have to disagree, or most of them would be able to find a job. If your a liberal you see Republicans as , anti woman because you oppose abortion at any time, you are a racist because you don't support positive discrimination when the reason for it in the first place has gone, and of course you should be in the Hague for War Crimes because you didn't wait for the UN to gain a backbone. On the Right you see Liberals as wanting to destroy your religious beliefs helped by its supporting LA crowd, you think they are more concerned about the earth than people, and they pander to every minority going no matter, you cant say no, that would be racist and by the way this generation should pay for the mistakes of the past. Then the West can only take action when the UN gets a back bone.

The Truth is not always clear is sometimes goes both ways, but today the US Highest Court did the right thing, the manner of the Abortion is beyond words and should be stopped by the Courts. But on the other hand a woman has a human right to have an abortion, its her body and the government should fund it, as stated the truth is sometimes in the middle and is not clear and goes both ways, its called being normal, Liberal or Conservative should accept there are different views and they both can be right.
