This could be the political IED that takes out the Clinton Campaign, if the FBI find that Secretary Clinton has broken the law with the use of a email server that was not secured it could place HRC before a Judge and Jury.   Of course considering the choice of a Sanders Presidency this blog hopes that the FBI or the Obama Department of Justice clears the Secretary of ALL charges, this blogger would buy a 2nd hand nuclear bunker should either Trump or Sanders win the Oval.

The real question is can Jeb Bush use this success when it comes to votes on Monday night, at least without Trump around the other politicians could relax and debate real issues, Cruz by general agreement did not have a good night, ALL the other candidates went for him as Trump was missing.  Thus either Jeb Bush or Senator Rubio could be the Establishment choice to take on THE TRUMP, the question is what will be their vote share on Monday and how well they do in New Hampshire.

At least serious candidates to be POTUS took to the Fox debate, the elephant in the room Donald Trump had his how show and he lost the ratings.   One can only hope that the voters of Iowa punish Trump for his move to snub the debate.   The Republican Establishment has to pick a serious candidate and back him up with money and support, there is only one real choice, that is Senator Rubio, it sad to say that Jeb Bush has left it to late, lets hope Rubio gains from his strong presence at the debate.

The reviews are mixed, it seems Cruz got it the neck as he has been 2nd in most of the polls for Iowa, Rubio, Bush turned up at last.   The question is will the Donald Trump suffer for not attending the debate, that is up to the voters of Iowa, lets hope they teach the Donald a lesson, in life you have to turn up. thus even the great Gipper lost Iowa in 1980 but after that never failed to attend a debate.  The question is will Trump be a new Gipper who loses Iowa, but takes New Hampshire and later the Presidency, or Bush 41 who won Iowa but lost the Republican nomination to Reagan in 1980.  Time is ticking away before the Monday vote.

The Democratic race is going dirty pool, the only result that matters is winning. IF Sanders can take Iowa and New Hampshire from Hillary Clinton he could really make it tough for Hilary to get the nomination.  On the other hand if HRC takes Iowa and comes in a close second in NH this should put Clinton the way to the White House, there is a firewall in South, in this case African - American voters, and the first African - American President has made it clear that he supports HRC, even if he did have an afternoon meeting with Senator Sanders.   Thus it matters who wins Iowa, it could decide the political future of HRC.

This blog can not tell if the move by Donald Trump will become a hit or might cost him the Iowa caucus.   The voters like it when candidates take on the press, but this is different, its personal, its the Donald vs. Ms Kelly of Fox News.   The day a news outlet allows candidates to decide who will present a debate is the day that channel is no longer a real news channel.  Fox News has backed up Ms Kelly as it should, one can argue that this issue should have resolved before the debate, or was Trump looking for a way out, he leads the pack by double digits, why put that at risk with debate.  The voters of Iowa will decide the real winner.

Mr Trump has shown no class, he no is JFK or Ronald Reagan,  he feud with Megyn Kelly shows that he does not have respect for women who challenge him, the questions that started the feud came from the mouth of the Donald.  Since then he has been at WAR with Ms Kelly and Fox News.  One has wonder what he would do when he has to face Putin or a terrorist threat, go about his polls, that is a serious question.    Lets hope the Republican Party smells the coffee and fast, otherwise moderate Conservatives will have a choice, either not to vote or vote for HRC.

This is why should the Republicans nominate Trump that this blog will support HRC, she called Trump out on his racist comments, the rest of the Republican field with the exception of Jeb Bush have let the issue go, while Bush has called Trump a jerk,  but in political reality the Bush Campaign is OVER, the only real threat to Trump is Cruz, not one Republican Senator has come out in support of Cruz, he is that hated by the Republican Establishment. Thus lets hope Senator Rubio of Florida can make Iowa lean towards him, otherwise its a Trump vs Clinton match up.

It can be said that Donald Trump has the national lead by a wide margin, the question is can he run the board, that is take Iowa and New Hampshire and then the South, if Cruz can win by a small margin that will keep his campaign alive for more Conservative States, but then Cruz has to win, if he loses Iowa and New Hampshire it can be argued that he is finished.  Thus its down to the voters of Iowa, one can only hope that they go for a moderate like Rubio, the Florida Senator, but that is more of a leap of faith than political reality.   The next few days are going to see a lot polls, just keep the average in mind, long shot polls need to be confirmed by other polls.

The Democratic Establishment is SCARED stiff by the prospect that Senator Sanders could be their nominee, they understand they could lose ALL 50 States in November 2016.   Thus expect more help for the Clinton Camp, the Oval is not neutral it wants to see HRC win, it will payback for Bill Clinton for helping the Obama/Biden Campaign in 2012.   Thus one can expect the elite liberal press to start going after Sanders, they take their orders from the Democratic Party.   Thus we have a campaign about the future of the Democratic Party, Clinton is the past, while Sanders is a 60s relic and very left wing.

In real politics the deal has been done, Bill Clinton helped President Obama get re-elected in 2012, now the Clintons expect the Oval Office to pay them back in the general election and even in the Democratic race, the interview the President gives is total praise for Hillary Clinton and her record, and the fact that Senators has no such record, a lot like Obama in 08.   Of course in 08 Obama had the African - American vote, in this election cycle it can be expected that Bill Clinton will be out getting the black vote, as many historians have noted  Bill Clinton was the real first Black President, he understood and respected the culture and seen as one of their own before Obama.  As noted by this blog and others, the 2016 race is over,  HRC might lose Iowa and New Hampshire but she has a fire wall in the South, it will be a long race, but HRC will be the nominee, the question is who will the Republicans chose.

IF Trump takes Iowa and New Hampshire it could all be over, it would show Trump's appeal to religious Conservatives, one of the main core of supporters for Senator Ted Cruz.   The Donald  and his ability to attract news coverage means that he will not have to spend his billions to win the Republican nomination.   That is the other bonus for the Republican Party its nominee can just write a cheque for his campaign, while HRC will have to be on the phone from the start is getting money, it could come down to that in the end, if its a match between HRC and the Donald, who has the bigger wallet.

The Obama Administration has thousands of Special Forces Soldiers in Iraq, and a few in Syria, the question is will the US voter in an election year support the sending of large number of troops to Iraq and Syria, and what is the EXIT point, will there ever be an exit point for the West.  It will be interesting to see how former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reacts to ground troops, the same with Sanders, it generally taken as fact that HRC is more hawkish, but can she afford to be hawkish when she is running in the Democratic Party.   The Party under Obama is more left wing that when her husband was in the Oval Office, will they support ground troops.   There is a need for ground troops, but is there public support, calling them Special Forces will not cut the argument, thousands of boots on the ground are still in a conflict zone.

Thus simple question is can Senator Sanders overtake Hillary Clinton and be the Democratic nominee in 2016, what ever the press say the answer is NO, the press need to justify their costs, thus they are writing up the match between Sanders and Clinton.  Let's look at the facts, the Clintons are not going to allow themselves to lose this time, they have the ground work and the money, and Hillary has Bill, one of the best retail politicians ever.   Thus expect more hype about Sanders, the Democratic Party and voters know that a real left winger like Sanders would sink the Party in the fly over States.   Thus enjoy this side show if you have nothing else to do, HRC will be the nominee, the interesting question is who will be her Secretary of State, a thankless job as Bill will be her main advisor on foreign policy.   The main stream press needs clicks on their political stories, thus they will up the rhetoric on the Clinton fight, while the real story is on the Republican side.

One can only assume that the Silent Majority of the Richard Nixon period and the Reagan Democrats of Ronald Reagan Era are very angry with the political system, the question that has to be asked is will they come out in the cold of Iowa to vote in the caucus for Trump, if they do and Trump takes New Hampshire it could be over, Trump might just be the Republican nominee.   The same goes for the Democratic race,  will the Sander voters come out and support their candidate, if Sanders takes Iowa and New Hampshire the Democratic race might not just be over, it will in the end, as the Southern States will support HRC, one can expect support from the Oval to get African - American voters out to support HRC.   Bill Clinton helped Obama in 2012, thus its payback time.

The Democratic Party would be going over a cliff it it nominated Bernie Sanders, HRC is not perfect, but her political heart is in the right place, her and the truth might be missing from her DNA, but she will want to be seen as a strong President, a woman has more to prove than a  man when it comes to military matters.   Thus this blog would expect a liberal domestic agenda, if nothing else as to keep the base happy but a strong hand on the tiller when it comes to the use of troops.  As stated if its a choice between the Trump and HRC, this blog will always support HRC.

The Clinton Campaign is lucky that President Obama supports HRC, while his Vice - President has made it clear that he supports Senator Sanders.   The Democratic Establishment supports HRC, the debates have been limited and placed at times that does not draw a large viewership.  The question that does come up is what if Sanders takes Iowa and New Hampshire, will the race be changed, it can be postulated that HRC can lose Iowa by a narrow margin and win or comes close to wining in New Hampshire then she can count of the African - American vote in the South, of course in politics stuff happens, and thus far HRC will be the Democratic nominee and future President.

The liberal NYT is not friend of Donald Trump, in that this blog shares its views, but the above article goes out of its way to show that some of the Trump voters are very extreme boarding on mad. It can be argued that the Trump Campaign is hoping that the crowds that turn up for Trump speeches will turn out in the cold night of February to support Trump in the Iowa Caucus, thus the candidates need a great ground game, in this  the NYT gives points to Senator Cruz.  It should be noted that Reagan lost Iowa in 1980 but went on to win New Hampshire and from there the Presidency.   The winner of Iowa in 1980 was Bush 41, but he could not build on this victory.  In 2008 Obama won Iowa but lost New Hampshire to Hillary Clinton, but the Obama campaign had a better ground operation than HRC, and thus won the nomination.  It will be a long night in Iowa.

If this blog thought HRC would lose it would be supporting Senator Sanders against Donald Trump, that is not going to happen, although the Clintons could lose Iowa and New Hampshire they have  a firewall in the South, also one expects with the support of the Oval that African - Americans will come out big for HRC, also women is good for HRC.  The Clintons insiders  might think its 2008 again, its not, Senator Sanders is no President Obama.   Thus those that fund HRC should not worry, its the White House all the way with HRC.

As long as Daesh has bases in Syria, Iraq and Libya it is a threat to the West and to Western allies, the West under a new US President will have to do something, it can not wait for local forces to do the job, there is chance they are not up to it, the Iraqi Army has been having success of late, that does not mean that Daesh is on the way out, it needs US/UK Special Forces to take out the threat.    This means more boots on the ground, one does not want to think of Daesh with WMD, it would be  nightmare for the West and the Middle East.   Thus the West has to be ready for a ground war that will be bloody. 

PM Cameron and the EU Vote - EU Vote 2016

I would think if David Cameron is on the losing side of the EU Referendum this year that he would have to go, for a PM to lose on such a major policy would undermine his authority as PM.  Also the PM has stated that he is not running in 2020, thus the Conservative Party will need a new leader before 2020, and to be fair a new leader would have to have some time to bed in, so if its out for UK, then one can argue that it will be out for David Cameron.   Of course the runners and riders are getting ready, a policy failure like the EU would push Cameron out bit early, that is the nature of the political beast, it does support losers. 

The UK and the EU - Referendum Vote

This is blog has not made its mind up about the referendum vote, lets see what kind of deal the PM brings back in February, either leaving or staying have their good and bad points, if the UK leaves we will be alone, therefore we will not have to follow EU policy on most things, that is good, but what happens if something goes wrong the economy or Jeremy Corby is elected in 2020, we are stuck in the UK.  Lets see the details of the deal first, then this blog will have an answer to the Euro question. One does hope that PM Cameron gets  a good enough deal, the UK voter are not great fans of the EU, it would not take much for the UK voter to vote to leave, one should never think one totally understands the voter, that was the mistake the pollsters  made with the 2015 election.

As Sky news reports the White House does not think the North Koreans have the H - bomb, they have a A bomb and from reports it could have been one of those devices that were tested.  Of course the problem is that North Korea is so secret, one would even guess that China does not know the full truth, one suspects North Korea is rattling the airwaves because it has seen the nuclear deal that has been signed by the US and Iran, and wants that level of attention.  On Fox News commentators did say that there is a camp that thinks that North Korea tests devices for Iran, and both get the benefits.  As noted on Fox, there is a school of thought that does not buy this idea.  The West should place further sanctions on North Korea but no talks, that is what they want, you can be a nuclear and power and still be weak, the North Korean Regime must know that if they ever used their nuclear weapons that the US would react, thus the poor people of North Korea go without food, still think of their leader as God, when he is an foolish idiot with blood on his hands.   This is just blackmail by a rogue regime.

If this is the level of talks between fellow Labour MPs the Party has a major problem, as noted by others, Corbyn does not have the power to force MPs to follow his line, while the Opposition is waiting its time, the Opposition should not fall in to the trap of waiting to long, that happened under the leadership of Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband, in that process the Labour Party lost two general elections.   As blog has stated the Blair and Brown supporters have to unite to get rid of Corbyn before he destroys the Labour before the 2020 election, time is not on the side of the Corbyn enemies.

The Labour Party has a choice, does it want to win the election in 2020 or does it throw away any chance of becoming a Labour Government in till 2030 or even 2035.  That is a long time to be in opposition, lets recall that the Liberal Democrats were out of power for decades in till the 2010 Coalition Government, the Conservative Party was out of power for 13 years when it lost to the 1997 election to Tony Blair, how much political purity can any Party take before it goes out of business.  One would suggest that Tony Blair find a  Seat through a by-election to return to the House of Commons and get rid of Corbyn that way, the question is could he get confirmed by any local party these days.   Are we seeing the demise of the Labour Party.

The extreme left of the Labour Party has caught the leadership, but in can not control its MPs, if Corbyn sacked everyone who did not agree with him it would only leave his family and close friends.   There will come a time when something will have to give, the issue could be Trident, as Corbyn wants to get rid of the UK's nuclear weapons, he has now appointed a Shadow Defence Minister that agrees with him, the problem is that the LABOUR Party Conference supports the idea of the UK having the bomb, so do the Unions and most of the Labour Party MPs, when the vote comes it could trigger a split within Labour, or the fall of Corbyn.

This mess of the Labour Party Shadow Cabinet Reshuffle is making one wish for the days of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, and least fights like these were quick, one side or other winning.   The New Labour old hands must be wondering how much of this the Labour Party can take, it will become a laughing stock at this rate.   The Blair/Brown supporters should unite to get rid of Corby and his mob.   There will not be a Labour Party worth having at this rate.

It can be postulated that most of the Conservative Party will be voting to leave the EU, there are few of the elite who still cling to the EU idea, but how will the British vote in a Referendum is a tough call, thus you will have Cameron, most of the Labour Party, LibDems and the other Parties in support for the EU, as to how Corbyn will vote is not known at the moment, even if the Labour stand is to keep within EU.   Thus the fun begins, lets see who wins and loses, how many chairs will be left?

The Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn is heading for a cliff, the real hard left knows this is their only chance to lead a political party, the sane ones know it wont last, others have started to think that because Corbyn got a big vote in the leadership that is more important than actually winning an election.  The Blair supporters should make their move to get rid of Corbyn, otherwise the Labour Party will be out of power in till 2025 at the most conservative of predictions.

As stated the Oval Office and Downing Street will be looking for calm, the last thing that the Middle East needs right now is a war between Iran and Saudi Arabia, this it might need the US Secretary of State, John Kerry to visit both States and calm their nerves and get them to keep only shouting at each other, if Kerry can not do it, what about for former US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, might well think of all the choices, with Syria in fire the World does not need another Crisis point.    The only winners are Daesh in Syria and Iraq should there be a regional war.

It does seem from a secular view dopey to have such an argument go on for one thousand years, but then if you look at the decline of religion in the West and the harmful aspects that has produced in different areas, single parent families, poverty, etc, some old fashioned religion might be good for Western values.   The power of Saudi Arabia and Iran to cause economic problems has gone down since the 1970s, the West has produced its own oil, the UK has the North Sea.  That is not say a major war between the two powers would not cause problems, the oil from the Gulf could be cut, thus more a problem for the EU than the UK.   One expects the US will try to calm the tensions in the area, after the nuclear deal the OVAL does not want a regional war.
