Trial from Chicago

The Times: Reports on the trial of ex Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich. This trial does have its fun aspects, the Governor, Rod Blagojevich comes across as a Hollywood D - Lister, but the fun in political terms comes from the fact that Governor Blagojevich is alleged by Federal Authorities to have tried to sell the Senate seat of President Obama. Lets be clear in general here folks, Governor Blagojevich is Innocent till proven guilty. So lets discuss Chicago politics in the round, in the round due to the fact that it can be argued with some justification that the Chicago Political system is bent, there is a long rich history of bent pols from Chicago or elections fixed. lets see the 1960 Presidential Election comes to mind, Cook County had more dead people voting that those that used oxygen. Thus we have natural state of corruption of the state but what is fun is the fact that Chicago methods are now being used in the Oval, the use by the Obama White House to get people not to run in state election by the use of offering people Federal jobs, that illegal folks. Thus lets see if Blago can take down Obama, lets see how much of the Oval Carpet Blago can burn, before Obama faces the Mid Term Congressional Elections in 2010 and his own re-election in 2012.
